My daughter wanted something a little different for her ceremony, so we held it outdoors and invited a bunch of people for a pot luck dinner. But she also wanted something extra special that the guests would remember afterwards. After several emails back and forth from overseas, Nicki and my daughter came up with a wonderful dessert of extraordinarily decorated cupcakes and hand decorated cookies. The presentation was wonderful but the taste of all the items was heavenly. I initially questioned the cost, but found out that these prices, for this quality of product, are very reasonable, as in we couldn’t find a better price for handcrafted delicacies. It is a small but well run business. You WILL get the individual attention you need. She WILL make it right for you.

Heavenly Delight Bakery Menu with Prices 833 Cascade Ave SW # A, Atlanta

Heavenly Bakery is the BEST!! You will NEVER go wrong with anything you get from them. We have had Pound Cake of course, German Chocolate, and other delicious delicacies and they have been top notch. When you bring these desserts to parties, your guest will ask, “Where did you get this cake from?” Heavenly Bakery is worth the drive from where ever you come from. Come on a Wednesday and order it for Friday and prepare to be amazed. How fresh and moist the cakes are. God Bless Heavenly Bakery and the hands that prepare these wonderful desserts. We have ordered cakes for anniversaries, weddings, and other special occasions, and we have gotten nothing but RAVE reviews!! Love it and Ms. Watson is a peach. She is a black owned business trying to make it.

Bake My Day – Menu with Prices – 1203 E Mason St, Green Bay

I had been recommended to go to Bake My Day through multiple friends, as their presentation and cake quality was respectable for the Green Bay Area. Initially, I contacted the owners and they were nothing but polite, and also went out of their way to allow us to taste the cake flavors, when they usually only do this for wedding cakes only. From there on out, the cake and the process was a disaster. We went in for our cake consultation and spent over an hour with the lady trying to capture every detail of the cake. They were extremely difficult and made it almost impossible to recreate the image, with every detail being an added on fee. We had requested a tiered cake, but would have been outrageously expensive to purchase as there were add on fees for almost everything, from the flavor of the cake, the extra words and details upon the cake, the display, fondant, and more to name. Yes, we have purchased cakes before and are aware that there are some additional fees, but this seemed excessive. We ended up switching our style of the cake, as it was an easier and cheaper, still fairly pricey, option. We had provided photos for the cakes. Upon pick up, the cakes represented nothing of the given pictures and was of poor quality. We had ordered two cakes, neither of which were of expected quality or presentation. The sheet cake that we had purchased was iced in a hideous blue, not resembling the theme or the other blues with the corresponding cake, and the words on the cake were not straight, rather in a zig-zig and crooked. It appeared that the cake was rushed to be finished this morning and there was no effort put into the presentation. For the second cake, it is similar to the provided photo, but does not have the qualities that we had requested. The frosting is speared, the details on top look ridiculous and could have been done better my a high school culinary student, and there are no fondant pieces, which were requested. Additionally, to add onto the day this was a cake for a high school graduation and when picked up the sadness and disapproval from my daughter was evident, with no concern or address to the problem. The customer service was impressive and appreciative at the beginning, but the product is not of good quality and does not meet the needs of the customer. This cake could have been made for a MUCH cheaper price at a chain grocery store with a much better presentation. I would not recommend coming her for anything but a basic cake with little to no detail.

La Familia Callejas Market – Menu with Prices – 608 Crouch St, Oceanside

The restaurant/market is low end and has signs of low volume business. The service is familiar and friendly. The food we ordered was average. We came for the restaurant but I looked around the market while we waited. There were some great prices on produce but freshness is questionable. Same with cold items. I would however, take advantage of their bakery, packaged tortillas and tortilla chips. Those all looked yummy. The key is to buy the items that sell frequently so you know you’re getting fresh product. As for the restaurant: My husband ordered carne asada fries, the kids ordered chicken taquitos, and I ordered pastor street tacos. We came on a Sunday afternoon and there was only one worker manning everything: cashier and food prep. That made food service slower than I looked forward to. But since there wasn’t any other customers, things moved along ok. The pastor tacos I ordered were very good and had full flavor. I’m definitely a fan and I will return for that ? The carne asada fries were not special. They came with crinkle cut fries like the kind you buy from the freezer section. The meat was shredded not chopped. The taquitos were well made and had bell peppers rolled into them. That made for a unique presentation and taste. The toppings were all around, not fresh. The lettuce and guacamole were browning. That was a major presentation and taste disappointment. But guacamole is expensive to make and has a short shelf life – this is a sign of low volume business. I would still come again, the street tacos were $1 each and on Tuesdays they are only .69 cents each. That’s so worth it! And the workers are friendly.

Rudy’s Hot Dog – Menu with Prices – 4747 Glendale Ave, Toledo

the staff was great very helpful, kind, like and clean the food was very small portions the prices were ridiculous for a steamed hot dog on a bun and I’ve been coming to Rudy’s since I was a child and I am 45 years old. there was barely anyone in the place and I could probably tell you why because of the food quality the presentation of the food and the hot dogs look like they have been rolling on the grill since 1 a. M. And we were there at 3 I worked in the retail business but most of my time has been spent and restaurants and it is a shame because Rudy’s used to be known as a wonderful business especially the owners they have Petty people I want you to come in and spend your hard-earned money but they don’t want to.

Chefness Bakery Menu with Prices 7160 Beracasa Way, Boca Raton

This might be a strange review, because I never tasted their baked goods. My daughter recently had a tough time with her husband, and the people at her workplace were just wonderful. I wanted to reward them with something nice. I chose Chefness because of a YELP review, and called them. I told them that I was from NYC, and wanted something nice for my daughter. They probably knew that they had every chance to rip me off, but they did not. Even when it came to delivering the goods, they first quoted me $10, then said that since it was close, it would only be $5. Later in the day, my daughter sent me a note saying, “That was wonderful, and everyone went nuts over it.” Seeing how this $85 order came out, I would gladly trust them with all future orders, regardless of size.

Simply Delicious – Menu with Prices – 5711 Bowden Rd #2, Jacksonville

The cake we ordered from Erin at Simply Delicious Cakes was extraordinary! We wanted a special cake for our daughter’s graduation. Being that we do not live in Jacksonville, I decided to search for custom wedding/event cakes in the Jacksonville area. I decided to call Simply Delicious because of some great reviews I had read. Wow!!! I am SO GLAD I found her! The cake she created for us was beautiful, but the taste was spectacular! Heaven on a fork! The layers of the cake were a scrumptious white chocolate. In between the layers was a Nutella filling (our daughter’s favorite) and a layer filled with banana curd. It was absolutely scrumptious. The cake was frosted with a wonderful buttercream (we don’t care for fondant) and she decorated it festively and beautifully in the school colors we had requested. Erin is a really sweet person – it was a pleasure doing business with this shop. I highly recommend it to anyone who has a wedding or other special event in the Jacksonville area!

PK2 Helados Menu with Prices 1100 San Mateo Blvd NE #22, Albuquerque

PK2 Helados I think is Spanish for “Big Fresh TASTE!!!” At least that’s been my experience on several visits. I have had a few flavors of paletas (with & sans toppings), jamaica (sp) & horchata aqua frescas, as well as his mucho delicious gelatos. Winner for novelty is his avocado paleta, but I’ve had no clinkers in any of the treats I’ve tried. They’ve all been good. Try ’em and you’ll see. True actual backstory on the PK2 name for those who, like me, don’t speak Spanish as our native tongue and don’t initially get the word play, as told by the *EXTREMELY* friendly owner is as follows. The two letters P and K in Spanish are pronounced “pay” and “kah”. The number 2 is pronounced “d?s”. If you say it fast, it comes out “paykahd?s”, which is spelled in Spanish pecados, which is the word for “sins”. So the dude is dishing up sinfully fresh and delicious gelatos, paletas, aqua frescas, and other sundry assorted treats at totally reasonable prices given the quality of the product and gold standard customer service. He uses all fresh, natural ingredients to make his bodacious hand crafted treats and drinks. I’ve watched him twirling a bowl of gelato-in-the-making in ice bath while softly whisking… whisking… whisking… whisking… the contents until it became mesmerizing in it’s practiced repetition. Here was a maestro ever so patiently crafting a symphony of flavors with all the expertise and attention he could muster. And the exquisite flavors of his wares reflects that attention and care. PK2 is easily my favorite paleta joint in the Duke City for exactly this care and the resultant high quality product that comes from it. Like another Yelper I discovered this hidden emporium of tastiness while hitting up Quarter Celtic Brewpub right across the mini-plaza that’s tucked under the Ace Hardware Store on the corner of San Mateo and Lomas. The underground parking is great to keep your wheels out of the sun on hot ‘Burque afternoons. So grab a place in the shade and “Hie thee hence” to PK2 Helados for a taste of one of the finest cool treats a Burqueño could hope for.

The Standard Bistro & Larder Menu with Prices 5827 Jackson Rd, Ann Arbor

Standard gets the environmental elements right. First off, the space is just lovely – no tables or high tops are crammed together, and the space is tastefully decorated in a sparing way. Even the bar’s bottles seem to be thoughtfully arranged in a dark-to-light spirit spectrum. Great cocktail list, with some really original concoctions. Every member of the service staff was thoughtful and attentive. Our party was delayed in seating (not necessarily the fault of management, as the party before us stayed incredibly long at their table), and we were checked in on at the bar and comped a generous round of starters. Where things go seriously downhill is the menu in its over-ambition, over-pricing and lack of a middle ground. I was initially impressed by the breadth of offerings – and not shocked at the entree prices – I understand the price point of a restaurant like this. I decided to go with the trout, my favorite freshwater fish. The presentation was simply abysmal. It was served slimy-skin-down over a massive pile of potato mash (which itself was tasty, but completely dwarved the paltry trout fillet) with a bacon/fennel/parmesan/cream/school-paste gravy that absolutely overwhelmed everything and had the mouth-feel of the flour that was used to thicken it. I mean, really. $30 for this? When I can get a trout plate for almost half the price at a local steakhouse that surpasses what I got at Standard, there’s something seriously wrong. My advice – chef should halve his main entree offerings, and increase the attention that’s happening on prep, quality and presentation. This restaurant needs a mid-level bar menu option for people who want to gather for drinks and a meal that isn’t reaching for the rafters. Offer high end burgers and other gastropub fare – it can be bar food that doesn’t rise to the price of the entrees, but remains elevated in quality. People will pay $15 for good quality plates at the bar in a setting as lovely as this. This restaurant really needs to get it together regarding the menu and pricing structure. You don’t get to charge NYC prices in Ann Arbor for this level of performance. My star rating takes into account the price charged for quality delivered and doesn’t reflect on the service staff. I wish I could give this restaurant a better rating, because the potential is there – but I’m steering clear.

Sweet Confections Cakes – Menu with Prices – 4702 Fritchey St, Harrisburg

We ordered a cake for my son’s Eagle Scout ceremony to test their cakes before my Daughters wedding. The cake was decorated exactly as we wanted but the taste was a bit bland for a chocolate cake. When my wife ordered it she just requested chocolate not realizing they would give a dark chocolate cake. Maybe good for adults but for a group of kids to leave most of a pretty expensive cake was worrisome. Even with that we decided to go with them for my daughters wedding. Long story short we placed an order and gave the $100 deposit. My daughter and her fiancé are in Japan and soon after going back to Japan made the decision to delay the wedding till they returned stateside permanently. I know the $100 deposit was non-refundable so I asked if I could just order a birthday cake for my wife’s birthday. No go can’t change the order. I asked if I could just get the wedding cupcakes, nope can’t order less than originally planned. Tried to tell me the contract says that but there is nothing in the contract that states you can’t reduce your order. Not worth pursuing for $100 but if you go with them order the minimum you can as you can always increase. Also be aware that the prices are pretty high for their wedding cakes and cupcakes compared to the average in the Harrisburg area. Went with them because my daughter was happy with what they offered. I have no problem paying extra for a good product and service but when I have an owner/manager being so inflexible they lost my business and anyone else I know that is looking for a recommendation. I should note I hardly ever take time to even write a bad review of anyone so the fact that I took the time to write this should speak volumes.

Lee’s Sandwiches – Corona – Menu with Prices – 2276 Griffin Way #106, Corona

We’ve always patronized this business and have been satisfied with the consistency of their products. That same thing can’t be expected of their Thai tea with boba. My daughter purchased the tea while I waited in the car. Started to drink it when I noticed that the tea is watered down with excessive ice and the boba which cost extra was hard. I called the business when we arrived home, about 15 mts later to bring this to their attention. I didn’t want a free drink or any compensation but solely to make them aware. No apology was given. Instead, poor customer service…”this is how it’s prepared everywhere else.” I disagree because we frequent the Lee’s in Chino and Riverside and it’s never watered down. We live about 18 mts from this location but we will willingly drive to the Lee’s in Chino and Riverside and be rest assured that their tea is always consistent. Lastly, we own several smoothie stores and CONSISTENCY in your product is what makes customers keep coming back (and GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE). This location’s crew is very poorly trained or lacks training in handling a very simple complaint. Hope the owners find this helpful.

Tamiami Tacos – Menu with Prices – 6920 14th St W, Bradenton

There is not a lot to say when food is prepared consciously . This could go for anything anywhere ; but the case for this review is Tamiami Tacos . Inside the Exxon on the North Trail (14 th Street West , Bradenton ) is a pleasant surprise . I have driven past this location many time on daily commute , with the intention of stopping sometime . I wish I had sooner . On Tuesday , I stopped for tacos . Three tacos for $5 ; anyway you like them . Newtown nachos were an option as well . The idea was to order & go . I got back to the car & decided to taste the nachos . It was all over from there . Should have eaten in , but was thinking about the next place I had to be . A late lunch was consumed in the car . Flavours are great , cabbage is fresh , sauces all handcrafted . Food is made to order . And it’s all from the inside of an Exxon on the north trail . All I can say is , tables , chairs & service ( a variable in Sarasota ) are fine but if your product isn’t good , all of the above does not matter . The product is excellent here . Lookout Sarasota brick & mortars , this shop has flavour , quality & responsive staff .
