This was an interesting spot. It was buffet style with salads, soups, sweets, pizza, and some pastas. Immediately walking in, there was a plate where one grabs the foods and then pay at the end. It reminded me of the school cafeteria back in the day. At most buffets I have been to, the payment was usually done first, a little different here. The service was alright. It took some time for the plates to be picked up. Regarding the food, I had mostly the salad part of the buffet. The ingredients appeared to be fresh and were replenished every so often. They had a lot of variety here. I also tried their pizza, which was cheesy garlic and a regular cheese pizza. The cheesy garlic just was garlic bread it seemed, not that good though. The macaroni and cheese was okay too, but the soft serve ice cream was bad. I am not how sure to describe it, but it was not creamy or appetizing at all. It tasted like it was from a bag. Will I go back? Sure.

Sal’s NY Pizza – Menu with Prices – 3304 Taylor Rd, Chesapeake

I don’t normally write reviews unless something is very good or very bad. What started out as a bad experience was absolutely turned good, though. We ordered a Bianca pizza (I’m allergic to tomatoes) and cheesy garlic knots to be delivered and when they arrived the pizza was I’ve cold and much to my dismay the cheesy garlic knots actually come in a container where they are smothered in cheese and marinara sauce.. which I can’t eat. I checked the menu online again and it didn’t say anything about the cheesy garlic knots being served this way. I called the store to inform about the ice cold pizza and the knots, and was told that the cheesy garlic knots come that way, which frustrated me because it doesn’t say that online. The woman that answered placed me on hold and when she came back advised me that they were sending out a fresh pizza and would send out garlic knots as well. The new pizza and garlic knots arrived fairly quickly and everything was very very good and hot. I would say that better advertising about what is in items would help for those of us that have allergies and cannot eat certain foods. Nevertheless… Thank you for turning a negative into a positive!!

Steel Pan Pizza – Menu with Prices – 201 E 4th St, Santa Ana

Okay, Steel Pan, I’ll admit it. You got me! I discovered Steel Pan on instagram and after seeing all the wonderful pictures, I was convinced my husband and I needed to take the trek all the way from Ontario to Santa Ana to try this place. So we did. 40 minutes of driving. Just for Steel Pan. Upon arrival at 4th street market, we found the little stand where the pizza is being sold. Not going to lie, upon first look I was already a little disappointed. The pizzas in the display did not look very appetizing but they were display pizzas, so I tried to let it go. The woman working the counter was very blasé and not very helpful. She didn’t seem too happy to be there. We ordered the pepperoni and the regular with sauce to be added on top (we had to ask for this because it was not in the display and our super friendly friend wasn’t really giving us any unwarranted information on her own, ya know). It was about 20 bucks for the two. Pricey af but that’s to be expected. So now we have the pizzas. I was glad to see that the actual ones looked a lot more appetizing than the display. The crust seemed a little overdone but I wasn’t complaining because I like it that way. First, the pepperoni. Go ahead and boomerang the slice pull apart because you will get a good shot. You’ll actually have everyone believe that the pizza is really good from all your fantastic IG shots. That’s how we were duped! However, after the first bite, immediate disappointment set in. Flavorless. Cheesy, sure. And I love a good cheesy pizza but this pizza was dry, lacking a good amount of sauce, and the sauce tasted like straight no frills can sauce from a food 4 less. No tang, nothing. What. a. disappointment. The only thing this pizza had going for itself was the crispy crust. However, you’re definitely going to pay for it in oil because this bad boy was grease lightening city. Okay, so that sucked. Maybe the cheese is better? Nope. It’s actually worse. At least the pepperoni gave that pie some flavor – but this cheese had no flavor whatsoever – and again! Stingy with the sauce! Not sure if the way this pizza is cooked causes the sauce to kinda dry up but it was like I was eating cheesy bread sticks – even with the extra sauce on top (which, again, had no flavor). We ate our pizza but for the entire time my husband and I sat there thinking about all the other delicious food we could’ve had for dinner instead. Pizza is an indulgence for us, so it really sucked that we wasted a night of indulgence on this. I know this is the unpopular opinion just looking at all these 4-5 star reviews. One other guy here on Yelp was spot on. Maybe this pizza is great in Detroit or maybe even by OC standards, but my husband and I are from North New Jersey. A 5 minute subway ride into Manhattan. We know good pizza, and I’m sorry to say, this ain’t it.

Mehfil Indian – Pakistani Cuisine – Menu with Prices – 10700 N Rodney Parham Rd Suite B6, Little Rock

While not familiar with Pakistani food, my husband & I had heard great things about Mehfil & couldn’t wait to try it. We went for a Saturday lunch buffet & loved it. At this point, I don’t know enough to accurately name & describe all that we tried, with a few exceptions. The naan bread is so good but the garlic naan–WOW! It’s delicious and next time, we’ll get that first. The foods on the buffet were all hot and there were so many choices. My favorites were the Tandoori chicken and the Tiki Masala w/ chicken; husband’s fav was the Chili chicken. Both types of rice on the buffet were tasty as were many of the other dishes. So glad we tried this restaurant and look forward to returning.

Michie Tavern ca. 1784 – Menu with Prices – 683 Thomas Jefferson Pkwy, Charlottesville

This review is more for the 1784 Pub at Michie Tavern rather than the buffet. Although we had originally planned on eating at the buffet, it frankly did not look very good or worth $20/person. As others mention, the selection is very limited. When we got there it was about a half hour from closing and the food was low. It also did not look very appetizing. The BBQ pork looked more like soup. Everything else looked like standard buffet fare. I’m not a fried chicken person so can’t speak for that, but it also did not look great. One of the staff mentioned that the pub next door would begin serving food when the buffet closed, so we tried that. We were glad we did. Although it did not have regular meals, there was enough on the menu to fill us up. Bites included pigs in blankets, pretzel bites, BBQ pork sliders, Virginia ham and biscuits, potato wedges, and more. We had all of these and they were pretty good. The atmosphere is also quite historic. Although the total price wasn’t much lower than the buffet, the variety was better. I would recommend the Pub for a good place to stop late in the afternoon if you’re in the area and hungry. Buffet doesn’t look worth it or very good.

Totally 80’s Pizza & Museum – Menu with Prices – 1717 S College Ave, Fort Collins

(After posting this review, they did reach out to me about sending me another pizza to make up for the last experience, but sadly I do not live in the area, so I couldn’t take them up on that. I do appreciate the follow-up!!) Totally Bummed. Only experience with this place was a delivery on a Thursday evening. Our order was placed and received at 6:25pm, and we didn’t receive our order until 7:50pm. The delivery estimation said 50-70 minutes, this took 85 minutes, and it’s just a weekday. It was also just one 1 pizza and 3 garlic twists…not a huge order. Another miss was getting marinara instead of the ranch that we ordered on the side, and there was no sauce on the pizza itself. We ordered a regular pizza expecting there to be the usual tomato sauce, but there was none, just cheese and toppings on bread. The last disappointment would be the minimal toppings, from the picture on the menu they have on yelp it looked like a generous amount of toppings, which was not reality, so that was a bummer. The positives – the pizza was still decent, and the garlic bread twists were alright.

Rosso Pizzeria – Menu with Prices – 120 Fifth Ave, Pittsburgh

Sad this place only has one review. The men making the pizzas are straight from Italy. I’m a bit of an oddball because I can’t eat cheese but I love pizza so I order all my pizzas without cheese. These guys didn’t seem to like that idea but with some convincing they decided to make my cheese less pizza… and OMG it was f*cking amazing!!! Obviously it would be better with cheese but I assure you anyone would have loved my pizza. The only thing that sucks is they are mainly open for lunch so no nighttime pizza runs. Either way their pizza is delicious with very fresh ingredients and masterful pizza makers

Roberto’s Pizza – Menu with Prices – 3970 Jonestown Rd, Harrisburg

First time ordering from this restaurant. Ordered food via Yelp delivery (was cheaper than grub hub and doordash) and it was right on time. We are so glad we gave this place a try! The cheese pizza is my new Harrisburg favorite with tons of cheese and a thin, chewy crust. The Italian sub was delicious–the bread was fresh and soft and it had the perfect amount of filling–I really liked the super shredded lettuce. And last but not least, the chicken parm was amazing! It comes with a large salad and garlic bread, which were also very good. The garlic bread looked a little over toasted but it didn’t have any effect on taste. We will definitely be ordering from here again!

Fat Boy’s Pizza – Menu with Prices – 2565 Metairie Rd, Metairie

OK this is tough one because I visited twice in 4 days. If I would have gave a review after Wednesday’s visit it would have def been 5 stars But after Saturday’s visit 3 is the max I can give. Consistency is the key to food in any restaurant. But there’s the catch….Wednesday my wife, son and daughter in law ordered a 18″ pep and cheese pizza. It’s was incredible, thin cheesy and had a fresh tomato and garlic sauce. The taste was so New York. So then we took our daughter after picking her up from the NOLA airport. We ordered the Big slices of pizza. The bill came out to be more than the 18″ pizza. My pep and cheese was the most tasteless pizza I have ever eaten. NO FLAVOR what so ever! Totally different than Wednesday! But Why?? I had no clue. I will becer eat to BIG slice again. There motto is true “Size Matters” My wife had the Fat Boy slice and it was average….Italian sausage or ground beef was very over cooked. My daughter had the Thin Boy and it was great. So I might try again but will stick to the 18″ pizza. Sometimes bigger is not always better. Wish we would have stuck to the 18″

Slices Pizza – Menu with Prices – 3284, 3760 W Eau Gallie Blvd #101, Melbourne

This is one of my favorite pizza places in Brevard hands down. I usually come during lunch, they always have different specialty pizzas prepared along with a few classics. Monday’s they have pickle pizza, which is a white pizza with no red sauce and dill pickles, it’s really good and a great way to try something new without committing to an entire pizza! My standard order is two slices, one cheese (which has fresh sliced mozzarella) and one grandma slice (which is a thicker rectangular pizza with chunky tomato sauce and fresh basil). Most recently I tried the marinara pizza (no cheese with fresh sliced garlic and chopped basil) and lasagna pizza, both were really good! They have perfected all components of pizza from their tomato sauce which is not too sweet with great tomato flavor and garlic, fresh sliced mozzarella cheese, and a crispy crust that holds up well to whatever toppings you choose. The lunch special is 2 slices and a drink for $9, plus they have cherry coke which is my favorite. The only negative is their hours are a little funky, but they are open every weekday for lunch which is good for me!

Saffron Indian Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 8868 Minnie Brown Rd, Montgomery

So I’ve had the buffet here twice and it’s been pretty good each time. Only being disappointed by one or two items. But after tonight I’d say skip the buffet all together and just order off the menu. Of course Indian food is often expensive because of all the work put into the sauces. But it’s worth it. There are items on the menu that are totally worth trying but I may never see them on the buffet because of the work involved making them or maybe they just want to put out the more popular type dishes “Americans” like. First: Malai Kofta – this is a vegetarian dish of veggie dumplings in a creamy cashew sauce. It’s so good!! My sister and I liked it even over the meat dishes. It’s rich and creamy but without feeling heavy. Second: Paneer Makhani – this dish has been on the buffet before, but of course it taste much better fresh. The tomato sauce is creamy and smooth. Third: Gobi Manchurian- this is a fried cauliflower dish that’s spicy. If ordering in house it will probably keep it’s crunch. But I ordered out so the steam from it being packed up took a bit of that away. But it was still amazing! They have some Indo-Chinese dishes and this tasted like one of them. Almost like a GeneralTso’s chicken but with cauliflower instead. Very good and just the right level of spiciness. I’m definitely going to go back and order off the menu again. Definitely worth the price and I’d like to see if the dishes that I was disappointed by on the buffet are better off menu.

The Coffee House – Menu with Prices – 894 Emory St, San Jose

So yelpers had the chance to try this place out since seeing it reviewed by others in the community. We came here on a Saturday night 7ish, first impression this place, tucked in a residential area close to bellarmine school. The place has about a 5slot parking lot on the side and some street parking. Inside is plain and simple with maybe about 30 capacity occupancy. The young owner greeted us and had explained the drinks and menu. If you like unique and not your everyday coffee this is the place. So for our initial experience we tried the following. Coconut coffee frappe with ghiradelli chocolate drizzle with bits of mini chocolate chips. Presentation and the look of the drink will make you drool. The tase is out of the norm and we liked it. Definitely you get the tase of the coconut milk slushed with the combination of coffee and the chocolate.again it’s a very unique and refreshing drink. Nothing that I have tasted before. Phin coffee, wow what can I say about this drink, it’s a different than your average Vietnamese coffee. The consistency is a creamy iced coffee with a side of condense milk to sweeten your drink to your liking. Okay this is the best part about this place. The PIZZA! Damn damn damn. There is only one size square pizza and we got the bacon n mushroom on half of the pizza and the other is pepperoni. Ingredients are of quality meats and veggies. The pizza thickness is about half inch deep dish style, but the piesta de resistance is the tangy garlicky pizza sauce strategically placed on top of the pizza. The second best thing on this is the cheesy burnt cheese crust on the side of the pizza which takes this pizza to the next level. Overall we will be coming back and will be our hang out… Will be brining the tribe to get more of your funky coffee drinks and the awesome cheese crusted garlicky tangy pizza sauce…BTW they also have teas, regular coffee and soon to expand menu. Drinks will run you about $3+ and up when you get to their specialized drinks and the pizza is about $23ish and up. To the owner you got something good going, keep it up! BTW the one star review, seems that you have not had Vietnamese type phin coffee which is what you ordered. Typically you add condense milk to sweeten to your liking. The burnt sides is the cheese which takes the flavor and texture of the pizza to a whole different level. Anyways…

Windy city pizza chesapeake – Menu with Prices – 480 Kempsville Rd, Chesapeake

My group of avid travelers decided to come here once we got back from our trip to Chicago to compare deep dish pizza. My husband called ahead to make sure the pizza was ready for us when we got there since it takes about 45 min or so to get it ready. We still ordered some tasty appetizers like cheesy garlic bread, loaded fries, and mozzarella wedges. Definitely a fan of the apps! I love that the fries are crinkly cut and they load it up – I had to ask for a side of ranch, but that’s more of my preference for loaded fries. All the apps came out fast and hot. It was easily devoured by my group of 6. The real reason we were here was for the pizza! We did a half and half of the Southside Special and classic cheese. So how does it measure up to Chicago? Full disclosure, I only tried Gino’s East & Lou Malnati’s deep dish pizzas in Chicago – my favorite being Gino’s. It’s different in terms of cheese to sauce ratio from the two mentioned. I have heard this is most similar Giordano’s. It has more of a pie crust to me versus others I’ve tried. I thought the pizza was good, but maybe too cheesy (if there is such a thing?) for me. Again, I think that’s down to my personal preference. What will have me coming back to the place is the hometown feel of the place. It feels like a neighborhood joint while highlighting the best of Chicago. Service has been super friendly both times I’ve been in and they are very accommodating with children. Overall, I think this place is worth a visit to try deep dish pizza. It’s the closest you’ll get to legit deep dish just shy of a visit to Chicago.
