Sushi Tatsu and Japanese Thai cuisine are actually the same restaurant. When you sat down you are given two menus–one for Japanese food and one for Thai food. They offer pretty typical Americanized Japanese food. We ordered two bento boxes. They were decent in taste but big portions. Probably won’t go again for any special occasion but maybe if I don’t wanna cook for the night.

Thai Food Corner – Menu with Prices – 5253 E Brown Rd # 104, Mesa

My Mom is from Thailand and I’ve grown up with Thai cuisine. This is probably the worst “Thai restaurant” I have ever been to. The Larb was served on a lot of lettuce barely any meat. The red curry had absolutely no curry or coconut milk taste it looked and tasted like a bowl of oil. The cook came out and said he was still hungover from last night which made sense considering the food was so awful. If you want Americanized Thai food this is the place to go. I should’ve know better.. any Thai restaurant that has orange chicken on the menu is a red flag.

Karai Ramen + Handroll – Menu with Prices – 640 W Republic Rd #100, Springfield

The ramen was decent and about what I was expecting/hoping for, and the Gyoza was superb. The sushi roll I received was falling apart and was carelessly assembled, which was unfortunate, because all of the ingredients were good. Hopefully an off day for the chef. Other than that they checked all of our Japanese foodie boxes, including carrying my favorite Japanese beer. The owner and servers were very nice and attentive as well. Including apologizing wholeheartedly for the barely 10-minute wait we had, (on a Friday night no less), when we requested to be sat at a booth. We will be back as I saw they have Takoyaki on the menu which is rare even for Japanese restaurants.

Lek’s Railroad Thai – Menu with Prices – 300 Water St B, Montgomery

I am Southeast Asian and crave Asian food 99% of the time so the family and I tend to check out local Asian restaurants. The restaurant located in Union Station which is a cool historic building. The restaurant is small inside but has patio seating. The hostess he was friendly and attentive. The waitress seemed busy. I was not in impressed by the menu. The items are very Americanized. So if you are looking for true Thai cuisine this is not the place for you. The only reason we finished the food is because we were starving from our 13+ hour drive. The pad thai was way too sweet and over cooked. The soft crab was sweet, too. Total was $47 without tip for spring rolls, calamari, pad thai and softshell crab. Overall I thought price was high compared to portion and quality.

Thailand Plaza – Menu with Prices – 5321 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles

I get all my THai ingredients here! I love Thai food and I love to cook bc I hate leaving my apartment so this place has everything I need to have a Thai cuisine in my apartment! Love it! Service is ok, not so friendly… they’re a bit snappy but they end up helping out.

Tokyo Japanese Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 1000 Hylan Dr, Rochester

My family and I have been going to Tokyo Japanese Restaurant for over 30 years. I have been to many sushi restaurants in town, but when asked for the best sushi in Rochester, there is no other restaurant that I recommend. Chef Yong, his son Tony and his family have been working here for over 30 years as well. They pride themselves in importing the highest quality grade sushi for the best, most consistent dining experience. Not only do they provide Japanese cuisine, but they also offer popular Thai and Vietnamese dishes. Unfortunately their old restaurant was bought out by Delta Sonic so they had to move to a smaller location, but I know they are looking to expand to bring back their popular hibachi tables. While they do not have hibachi tables on site, they do make the best, largest portion of hibachi in town. Tokyo is BY FAR the best Japanese restaurant in Rochester and I cannot wait until they expand into a bigger location.

Penn’s Thai House – Menu with Prices – 724 W Sunset Rd, Henderson

BLUE COLLAR THAI It’s the closest Thai restaurant to my home. I recalled when it was the foodie hot spot for all of Henderson. Food critic Max Jacobson in 2012 named Penn’s Thai House the best Thai restaurant in Henderson. Like finding a diamond on the street. After all it’s located in a modest business strip center surrounded by auto body repair shops. It certainly wasn’t the aesthetics that brought diners in. Yelpers also flocked in droves too like lemmings. LoL. The frenzy felt artificial. I visited a couple times but never really was stimulated to writing a review. This most recent lunch visit changed my mind. Not because there was a table of Thai ladies or the Thai servers’ mannerism. It was simply the food. Granted the egg flower soup wasn’t Thai. But the peanut-less Pork Pad Thai and Thai Boat Noodle Soup just reminded me of what Thai cuisine should truly taste like. Lunch specials are of excellent value. Noodle soups are delightful and generously filled with expertly seasoned meats.

Ming’s Asian Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 4665 Lower Roswell Rd Suite 101, Marietta

The only way I can describe this place is delightful!!! We went here a few days ago for the first time and we were so pleasantly surprised. Everything from the service to the food to the ambiance was great! Our server from Laos was SO sweet, charming and attentive. She really made us feel welcomed! She was great in giving us detail about the dishes when we asked and made great recommendations. I told her I wanted really spicy food and sh said they could make it as hot as I wanted. She was right! It’s the first time in a long time I’ve been to a restaurant in this area to get the level of heat that I need just right! We ordered a pad Thai and the curry lamb. The pad Thai was so yummy and my curry lamb was cooked perfectly and the sauce was bold and flavorful. The portions were huge also. We needed two boxes to take home what we had left. Anyone who complains about portions at this place must be talking about another restaurants because one dish is big enough for two people. I was concerned about pricepoint but after seeing the portions I thought tit was more than reasonable. My only regret is not having tried this place sooner.

Bennington Seafood poke and bar Menu with Prices 4564 Bennington Ave, Baton Rouge

My wife and I went here on a recommendation from one of her coworkers and we were both disappointed. We both had the Teriyaki combo steak and shrimp and found the shrimp to be tough and rubbery. The steak was decent though. We also had the spring rolls and egg roll appetizers. They, too, were decent. Although they list themselves as a steakhouse the cuisine is more Japanese than anything else. I am neutral about this place.

Akashi Sushi Bar – Menu with Prices – 2020 Harshman Rd, Dayton

Atmosphere: 2 The outside of the restaurant looks run down and sketchy. My fiance and I were about to turn around, but since this place had good ratings, we decided to give it a try. Inside, the restaurant is dimly lit – a bit gloomy considering there aren’t any windows. The decor and furniture is a bit dated. The carpet flooring is a turn off. I’m just glad that at least it is well maintained and clean. Also, I didn’t appreciate how our waiter always felt like he was trying to rush us. They have a huge menu that included Korean food, and he probably gave us about 2 minutes to go through the whole thing and expected us to know what to order. (Perhaps this is a management thing considering I noticed a waitress doing the same to another couple who also said they needed more time.) Our waiter came by after another minute and yet again we had to tell him we weren’t ready. After we ordered, asked “Chopsticks seem good for us today?” or something to the like, and to be honest, we were completely offended. I know he said “us” to include me (asian) so that it’s polite and not like he’s discriminating against my fiance (who is white and have no trouble using chopsticks). I think the better approach is to just wait for your customer ask for a fork rather than outright asking them if they’re good with chopsticks. FYI, we lived in Japan for nearly 2 years! As we’re eating our meal, our waiter whisks away every empty plate as soon as we’re done with it. It made us feel rushed and not welcomed. Portions: 5 The portions are as you would expect in an American-Japanese restaurant. Meaning, compared to restaurants in Japan, the American ones are a bit bigger. Nonetheless, each bite of the roll is contains consistent ingredients. The rolls are slightly big for me and they nearly didn’t fit in my mouth. Bonus: they don’t fall apart, yay! Flavors: 4 The flavors of the rolls are really good. However, they’re definitely Americanized Japanese sushi rolls. The rolls are smothered with sauces and include western ingredients such as asparagus and cream cheese. These are not authentic Japanese ingredients! The fish in the rolls require careful tasting in order to taste the flavor of the fish. I gotta say, they definitely don’t taste very fresh or high quality fish. Perhaps that’s why they’re smothered in sauce. Overall, I think that the restaurant could definitely improve on the appearance of it. Aside from nearly missing it, we didn’t even feel comfortable going inside. I think the wait staff need to chill out a bit because they’re not creating an enjoyable atmosphere for us.

Toyama Sushi – Menu with Prices – 10121 Evergreen Way, Everett

This is my favorite Japanese Restaurant for various reasons. Although it’s my first time here, it’s amazing. Me and my daughter thought the service and food was wonderful. Our server was Lucy. She was so helpful and compassionate for our experience at this restaurant. She was working very hard for us and the other customers to have a good experience. There was a certain feature of this place that I would like to highlight. There was a Tatami Floor, basically a floor with a hole in the middle. A table stood on it, while you could have your feet hang down, or cross your legs. Every time, we would take off our shoes for respect and Japanese Traditions I believe. In conclusion, this restaurant is wonderful and if you’re craving Japanese Cuisine, this is the place to go!

WIND Japanese and Thai – Menu with Prices – 6485 Mississauga Rd, Mississauga

I have been wanting to try this restaurant’s AYCE dishes for a while. We actually tried a couple weeks ago however, we arrived on a Thursday and was told that they only have AYCE available on the weekend. So, we left and planned to return. This time we arrived on a Saturday for lunch at about 12:30 PM. The restaurant was about half full at that time and we were immediately seated. The restaurant had an upscale feel and was very well appointed. Upon seating, we were given an iPad menu and began ordering. We noticed that the selection on the iPad was not as extensive as the menu they had listed online. There were a few dishes that we wanted to try but were not available such as the Japanese Curry Torikatsu. We ordered a variety of dishes which included the standard sushi and maki rolls that we usually get at other AYCE places, but also a lot of the Thai dishes, since this was a Japanese Thai restaurant. We found that the Thai dishes were just OK and nothing spectacular. The Thai curries were a bit sweet and the beef used in their various skewered beef dishes and the teriyaki was very tough and almost inedible. The price of the AYCE meal was $22.99 per person, making it one of the most expensive Japanese restaurants in the area. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was very good, however the food turned out to be disappointing. I am not planning on returning as the good service and atmosphere does not overcome the high price for the average food.
