Omakasi w/ no regrets. Such an amazing experience. No fake talk, trying to act fancy – simple, sit down, eat, enjoy, eat some more and make plans to come back. Tuna Sushi, Albacore Sushi,Salmon Sushi, Salmon Egg Sushi, Sweet Shrimp Sushi, Uni – Just to name a few – and each one prepared perfectly. Rice was prepared well, great amount of vinegar and you’re told when to use soy sauce (the taste of each piece is so good, you’ll regret taking away from it with soy). The Uni was my absolute favorite- probably some of the best I’ve ever had, and I’m not usually a fan of skin or egg sushi but both were delicious. We were also served three different hand rolls, not as good as the sushi itself but still great with the perfect ratio. The price can get high – but you pay for what you get, you also have the option of ordering yourself at a table but you’d be making a mistake. When it comes to sushi, especially at a place where the chef takes pride in his work – you want to trust the chef.

Sushi Court – Menu with Prices – 251 Westwood Shopping Center, Fayetteville

I will come again!!! (and that’s saying something since my sushi expectations are high … being from California) I GIVE THE CHEF 5 STARS!!!. The raw salmon roll and spicy tuna roll were amazing! The fish was fresh and delicious although the selection of fish was lacking; But its hard to find a big selection of fish in fayetteville. The portions of fish were small but they were very tasty. I did notice that the raw salmon roll only came in a 6 piece roll instead of the usual 8. I GIVE THE CHEF 5 STARS!!!. The waitress however a sad 2 stars only for bringing the delicious sushi the chef prepared! Her rudeness and lack of patience while we asked about the rolls was unnecessary! I will come again for the sushi and hope for a different waitress.

Bob Wasabi Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 1726 W 39th St, Kansas City

Some of the best sushi in KC. This is my goto sushi place if anyone asks me where they should grab sushi while they are visiting Kansas City. Here, the sushi is expertly prepared and ordering a Chef’s Choice of the sashimi or sushi-sashimi combo will not at all disappoint. Definitely ask about any sushi and sashimi specials they have, since they will often showcase unique and hard-to-find ingredients. The “Specialty Rolls” menu isn’t as extensive as some of the other sushi bars in the area, but that’s because the nigiri and sashimi are the stars here. If you want rolls with lots of bells and whistles, I would definitely suggest going elsewhere. If you have difficulty finding parking in the small lot in front of Bob Wasabi, park in the larger parking lot behind Jazz/Blue Koi/Black Sheep.

AYCE Sushi SCM – Menu with Prices – 3392 S Bristol St, Santa Ana

Brand new sushi joint that just opened up in the South Coast area! That obviously meant that I had to check it out as a fan of AYCE sushi. There was hardly a wait time when I went as it recently opened and not a lot of people know about it. The price is a little more expensive compared to other places, but I guess it’s worth it if you live in the area. I think dinner was about $29 for the weekend and if you wanted to have access to sashimi then it would be about $34. The menu itself is decent as you can choose from appetizers, rolls, sushi, and hand rolls. I tried a bunch of different items and the highlights are as follows: Beef gyoza: super crispy and has a juicy and flavorful inside Crawfish roll: pretty tasty and you get a good amount of crawfish on top of your rolls Salmon sushi: you get a good amount of salmon and not too much rice. The salmon itself didn’t taste fishy, but it didn’t have much of a taste as well. I wish they had options like seared, garlic, or even ponzu salmon. Eel sushi: highly recommend if you like eel! The sushi itself is not overloaded with sauce to the point where it is overbearing. Overall impression of the place is that it is decent, but there is definitely room for improvement. The Tokyo roll is literally just a California roll with tuna on top, which basically resembled the tuna sushi I got. Having more flavorful selections for the sushi would also help justify the price for AYCE. I don’t think they had some classical rolls like dragon roll which was surprising. Service was pretty good as the staff is attentive although some of the workers do not know how to identify or describe the rolls. It would be helpful if visitors were informed of which rolls were which as they tend to come in waves after you place your order. Check this place out if you’re in the area and craving for some sushi! My overall rating would be a 3.5 if I had that option.

Kobe Hibachi, Sushi And Bar – Menu with Prices – 2819 N Division St, Spokane

I’ve only ever had sushi here at lunchtime, so that’s what my review is based on. My favorite thing to get is the sushi lunch of a chef selection of nigiri with a salmon roll. I’m a huge salmon fan, so it’s perfect for me. The seared tuna nigiri is delicious as well.I opted for a few simple rolls this last time. Can’t go wrong with a Philly and I really liked the fish-avocado-cream cheese ratio here. The tuna roll was larger than expected (no complaints there) and had wonderful flavor. The salmon toro was a real treat for me and I’ll order more next time. I also had the salmon skin roll, but I had so many scales in my first two pieces that it completely put me off finishing the roll. Service here is perfectly fine, but for how quiet it is when I’ve been here, it sure takes a long time to get to ask for the check, let alone pay. I’ve heard nothing but wonderful things about dinner service so I will come back for that sometime!

Ganda Sushi Express – Menu with Prices – 8008 Surrey Pl, Jamaica

Was in the neighborhood visiting a friend. She wanted sushi for lunch so we tried this local spot. On a Saturday at 1pm, this place was totally empty. Hey that’s not a good sign. But let’s just ignore that. Maybe it’s just a slow day. We take a seat and this old guy who looks like the chef, shuffles over and drops 2 menus on the table and walks away without a word. He had such a mean look on his face. Does he NOT want us to be here? But. let’s just ignore that. Everyone has a bad day now and then. We give him our order. Wow. My friend is ordering a big platter of sashimi. Just all raw fish. Nothing else for lunch. Me, I play it on the safe side and order a california roll and a salmon cucumber roll. Our food arrives. Hmmm… my sushi rolls are a bit messy looking. Does the chef even care about the food he’s serving? But, let’s just ignore that. Maybe I’m just thinking too much. We can’t make sushi rolls neat all the time… (Even though we are the only customers in here right now). So I look over at my friend’s dish. Yeah, that sashimi is plated okay looking. I didn’t think the sushi was all that fresh. I’ve had better sushi elsewhere.

Fuji Sushi Upper King – Menu with Prices – 585 King St, Charleston

Let me start off by saying Fuji Sushi Upper King has some of the best sushi I’ve tried in my life. When I first had their spicy tuna roll, I wasn’t prepared with how soft and melt in your mouth the fish would be. I appreciate how they add avocado in the roll, which pairs perfectly with the tuna. I’ve tried almost all of their rolls, and I’ve never had a dud! Trust me when I say it’s all good. I’ve come here multiple times either on a date night or with a group of friends. Such a perfect place to share sushi rolls with people. The prices are great! Just another reason why I feel so comfortable coming back here time after time again. It’s so fun getting their boats full of different fresh fish. Definitely recommend you get if you’re with a group who aren’t afraid to try new foods. For my friends who aren’t huge fish eaters, there’s also a bunch of other food options for example, hibachi plates, poke bowls, or bao’s. There’s something here for everyone. Lastly, they have rooftop seating which is perfect throughout the entire year. It’s so beautiful up there with the soft breeze. Can’t wait to go back!

Wasabi Sushi – Menu with Prices – 2662 Garnet Ave, San Diego

I didn’t feel like driving to the middle of clairemont for my bff’s $5 philly rolls she’s craving from UTC. So I remembered I wanted to give this Wasabi place a try finally since it’s off the 5 freeway. I’ve driven by this place, saw the 50% off sushi sign for years. We stopped by here close to 2pm for Lunch Very roomy. Private parking lot with plenty of parking. Nice lady greeted us. Only one to two other patrons there. We decided to sit at the sushi bar. We were given a complimentary cucumber salad that was quite good and refreshing. Tamed the beast in my belly a bit. I was on the edge of hangry. My BFF had a cold Kirin, Philly Roll and Tempura Philly Roll. She enjoyed them all. Me: Protein Roll and lastly Salmon Kama since I’m doing low carb right now. The Protein Roll was good, had nice chunks of fish. The Sushi Chef was awesome. Handed us everything he made as he finished them. The rolls came out really fast. Waited just a little while for the Salmon Kama which I expected. I appreciated the lady informing us that the salmon was cooking. Salmon Kama is my favorite, I’ve had it at many places. It’s my go to, usually with a side of rice. I just ate it with the lemon, sauce and cabbage. Amazing and fresh. I will definitely be back. $5 Salmon Kama and Philly Rolls? Yes please.

Ichiban Sushi – Menu with Prices – 1812 Cliff Dr, Santa Barbara

I don’t want to start off by saying I had a terrible experience, as I really did enjoy the environment that this restaurant presents. It is a cozy sushi bar and restaurant nestled in the Mesa shopping strip. It is usually very festive with the holidays (they had decorated the area really nicely for Valentine’s day when I went), and it feels like a nice local place to grab sushi. But.. I just have to say the sushi was just not fresh. There are not a lot of places to compare to in terms of sushi served in Santa Barbara, but with my experience of sushi, this just felt disappointing. My friend and I both had the rainbow rolls (what we tend to order at sushi restaurants we haven’t been to before just to get a taste of a variety of the fish they have to offer), and the shrimp was probably the most disappointing. The salmon also did not tasting fresh as well.. itdid not effect me the next day, but my friend had to stay home from work because he was certain the fish had affected him. I’m not necessarily saying this is a terrible establishment, I think it’s worth at least trying, but I personally was not that impressed with the sushi served.

Nori & Wasabi – Menu with Prices – 3109 N Halsted St, Chicago

I don’t leave very many Yelp reviews…but this place is an absolute gem and I can’t help but keep recommending it to my friends! I found this place three weeks ago, and I’ve been back once every single week. They have exceptional service and excellent sushi. The owners are very considerate, constantly checking in to make sure everything is good at the beginning, middle, and end of your visits. The establishment is always kept very clean as well. The sushi is well portioned in fish-to-rice ratio and the fish is incredibly fresh. My girlfriend couldn’t help commenting on how good the salmon was, and she can be particular when it comes to how fish is prepared. The first time I went, another table mistakenly took one of my rolls as it was coming out and I was given their order by mistake; the owner graciously offered a replacement roll on the house. We got two combo sets which included salad, as well as three variations of rolls to try. The second time, I called to put in a takeout order, and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. It was ready when I went into the store about ten minutes later. This third time was also great. Some of the rolls to definitely get are the Martini, 911, Brownie (the crispy salmon skin and eel combo is killer), and Hamachi Scallion. 10/10 would recommend for great value and tasty sushi.

Kura Revolving Sushi Bar – Menu with Prices – 9659 Milliken Ave suite 104-105, Rancho Cucamonga

Been coming to this sushi place since 2013 when it used to be Kula Revolving Sushi. In comparison, the new and improved Kura is way better! They definitely upgraded their technology and the way the restaurant works. LOVE that they have screens that allow you to order and also the belt. I keep seeing bad reviews in regards to their sushi but I honestly feel the quality and the service far exceed what you pay for. $2.60 per plate is cheap in comparison to other sushi places. Not to mention their hand rolls are AMAZING! They give you the option of using seaweed or rice paper for hand rolls. I will say, this place was hit or miss up until the remodel. Since then, we have only had good experiences at Kura. Oh and the prizes for eating 15 plates are a GREAT WAY TO GET YOUR CHILD TO EAT! Our 10 year old who has been eating there since she was 4 has ventured out into trying rolls and now has a new favorite: Golden Crunchy. We make it a goal to eat at least 15 plates as a family and alternate who get to open the prize.

Asiana Hyde Park Thai & Sushi – Menu with Prices – 3922 Edwards Rd, Cincinnati

Tried this place for the first time. They have limited parking in the back but you may need to park across the street in the lot. Small store front restaurant with small seating space. Also a small sushi bar with a few seats. We were seated promptly and the place was crowded. The owners are very attentive, helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. We started with the spring rolls which were really good. The crunch was perfect, flavor on point, served with a delicate sauce. Also, not greasy at all. We then added their special sushi roll that was out of this world. Plated perfectly and you can tell the sushi chef had a lot of passion for his work. On to the entrees. Drunken noodle, pad see-ew and Thai basil. We ordered all with a 6 level spice and it was spicy and perfect for us. All dishes were outstanding and we had leftovers for lunch next day. They talked us in to trying the mango sticky rice to share. So good and fresh you need to get it. We never had it before and it was very good. We didn’t bring wine with us but it is a BYOB which is another great plus! The owners are personable and really care about your experience. They want you to come back. Support this place for all of the great reasons noted.

Ninja Sushi Bar – Menu with Prices – 1400 Kempsville Rd, Chesapeake

Greeted quickly. Seated quickly. Ambience is no different than any other AYCE place. Ordered hibachi steak, salmon rolls, volcano rolls, salmon sushi, soup and salad. Soup, salad and hibachi came quickly. Clear soup was lukewarm. Hibachi was also. Steak was chewy and tough. Salmon sushi was good. Fresh fish, not too much rice. Volcano roll was different. It had a sweet sauce to it. Not as good as the other ones I’ve had. Tough to get through but had to eat it or I would get charged for it. Otherwise, not bad but not great either. Wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here again. Service was great. Price is not as advertised on their Yelp page. My fault for not confirming.
