This place, in general, is overrated. The pricing does not reflect the quality or the service. I went here a couple of weeks ago. I ordered the tootsie, California, and a couple of other ones and they were not very fresh and the taste was just off. Not at all what I expected. How do you mess up a California roll – the most basic of them all? This place managed to. I also ordered the calamari to start and it was pretty tasty. They do a weird twist on the calamari with some a sauce I don’t remember, but I’ve never had it with calamari anywhere, so I appreciated the unique try. The service was poor. The girl was not engaged with us at all and hardly checked on us. She appeared to be in a bad mood. Lastly, don’t sell appetizers if they’re going to come out AFTER the rolls. What’s the point?

Midori Sushi – Menu with Prices – 4020 N MacArthur Blvd #114, Irving

Finally, we found a sushi place that’s we can’t close down! I swear it’s hard AF to find good sushi in Irving without losing your shirt! This place is amazing…and there’s history on the walls, so you know they’ve been there a little bit. And the rolls? They’re yummy AF! And they’re for the most part larger than what we’re both use to. They all taste super fresh, because you see the chef behind the counter making them to order. Honestly, they kinda just melt in your mouth. And they bring you soup as well at no charge. It’s a simple broth with a bit of spinach and tofu by the look of it, but it’s a nice touch. And for North Irving/Las Colinas it very reasonably priced. We had the California, Spicy Shrimp and Lava Rolls on our first visit…all delicious! The second was a California, lava,e calamari and shrimp rolls. Calamari was delicious, just a bit small and the shrimp was a little bland..but some people like that!! You don’t know till you try it. Right? Theserverson both visits were great!! Super friendly! We’ll definitely be back…we found our new sushi fix!!:)

Momentum Coffee – Menu with Prices – 3555 Rayford Rd #10, Spring

This place is a must EVERY time I come home to visit. The coffee is great and the food is great. Except today….hence the 3 star review. Customer service. I walk in and they have ONE person running the counter, drive thru and producing drinks. I get it’s a Tuesday and business can be slow during midweek and one person running the whole show can slide. I know how it gets, Ive been a barista. So, I’m patient. But, when the poor girl has a line of 5 deep, 2 cars in drive thru, and still has to make drinks for patrons who previously ordered….shes going to need help. What got me heated was while all of this was happening, there are 3 Owners(I sure hope it wasnt), managers or employees sitting in the corner chatting(or having a mtg….frankly, as a customer, dont know, dont care) and seeing their girl starting to drown, do absolutely nothing. Yet, one of the guys in a tie dye shirt just keeps glancing over at the line as it builds, still do…..wait for it…. nothing. He finally decides to make moves and help the poor girl after I was giving him a stare down. Then the dude finally walks up, asks if I’m waiting for drinks or food, I needed to step to the side counter. I told him that I was actually waiting to be helped and he rudely replied, “Well….I’m right here” DONT ever talk to a customer in that manner or tone. Customer Service is what keeps what makes a business thrive. There are plenty of coffee shops around here but Great customer service is what makes customers return for your coffee. That’s why I kept coming back. I hope the next time I’m in town the customer service is better.

Dewz Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 1505 J St, Modesto

It hurts me to leave this review. This was hands-down the best restaurant in town before changing ownership. Unfortunately every time I’ve been back has been disappointing and I will not be back. Cocktails are still good but the food has just gone downhill. We ordered the pork belly and calamari appetizers and a couple of drinks. Pork belly was ok, not quite crispy or succulent enough. It was served with crisped rice and nut, it was interesting but didn’t quite come together and felt disconnected. The calamari has always been a favorite but this time seemed to be lacking something key – calamari. The breading and sauces were good but the calamari pieces were so tiny that I didn’t actually taste calamari at all in the whole dish. At the end we were left with almost an entire plate full of crunch pieces where the calamari was non-existent. This is a great example of cheapening the ingredients and raising the prices. Last time we were here we had dinner and agreed it was no longer worth it. The dishes were just ok and the lobster bisque was noticeably not as rich as it used to be. I will miss you Dewz.

Rock & Roll Sushi – Menu with Prices – 5244 University Pkwy B, San Bernardino

Do people give this place a good rating because it’s one of the only options in the area? This place is a joke. The service is terrible and the rolls are over priced and pathetic. I ordered rolls that are basically over priced California rolls because they are too cheap to actually put tuna, eel etc on the rolls. You have to ask for everything…even wasabi!! What sushi restaurant doesn’t serve you wasabi and ginger…not to mention plates to eat or for your soy sauce? If I can give a negative I would. Do yourself a favor and make the drive somewhere else. It’ll be worth gas rather than spend it on this place.

Fusion Lounge – Menu with Prices – 6915 Dixie Rd #4, Mississauga

My boyfriend & I have been regulars at fusion for quite sometime now, the staff is amazing. The service is even better. Ive been to the other sisha lounge in brampton just to see the difference and fusion was by far a better option, heck we left after 30 minutes & went to fusion instead. I was there about 2 weeks ago now & when we went to get up and pay I literally fainted and fell to the ground. The staff was awesome, the owner sat with me ans explained that it was ok and its happened before because of course I was embrassed. As soon as I woke up theyre was a pop in my face and the owner did not let us leave until he felt like I would be okay and I just wanted to give a huge thank you to the owner and the staff at fusion lounge for theyre outstanding service everytime. This is always my go to spot to hang out with friends. 10/10 recommended

Kitaro Sushi – Menu with Prices – 2711 W 15th St, Plano

Wonderful experience. This small establishment has a warm atmosphere and the owners deliver a sense cleanliness, quality, and a great level of consistency. Our favorite pet was that they gave us multiple complimentary orders of California rolls with our meal that stood out as the best California roll we’ve ever had! We ordered soft shell crab, spicy and crunchy tuna rolls and a spicy salmon. The quality of their sushi was remarkable and it was obvious they took time and care in the preparation of the dishes. They staff was kind and courteous when answering our questions about the menu and they thanked us for being patrons. We will DEFINITELY come again.

Buffet Royale Carvery – Menu with Prices – 17202 95 Ave NW, Edmonton

The food was decent with the exception of the corn on the cob. My issue was rhe lack of service. Not one time did any of the servers come to fill our drinks or see how the food was. When I went to pay our bill my wife had said out loud not to give a tip because of the poor service when the girl at the front counter heard this she started complaining that we were making her lose money by not tipping. My wife replied had we had good service she would be more then happy to tip. Then the girl said “Well, i may be loosing money from you but at least these other tables will tip. I had to walk away and let my wife finish paying as i was too angry by the negative attitude, and sheer rudeness of this cashier. Tipping is not a requirement, and certainly not for poor service! My family comes here once a month. I think i may have to find another place now.

Willowcreek Grill Menu with Prices 2273 S Vista Ave #150, Boise

So being from San Francisco and now living in the Bay Area means I have a lot of friends and family who have very high flutting tastes regarding sushi. Yet I have taken a couple of them here when they visited me in Idaho in the past (after picking them up from the airport or while driving them to the airport in Boise), and I visited here recently again after a couple years from moving back to California. They are always very good. Extremely surprisingly so considering they are not near the ocean. Since I hadn’t been here in 2 years I forgot that they’re also incredibly generous with their rolls and that instead of the six pieces or less you get at sushi restaurants in California, you get 12 pieces here. So I ordered way too much and I took it back to my grandpa’s in Jerome, and it still held up well. He doesn’t eat sushi so I ordered from Wildfire’s menu for him. He’s very very picky and I should know from living with him for 4 years and cooking all his meals… He really liked it and thought it had been ordered from his country club just down the street and was surprised to learn that I had picked it up hours ago. Such a plus that if you don’t like sushi you can always order from their grill menu! I love sitting on the sushi side because it’s quieter and not as packed, and my servers have always been incredibly kind and phenomenal. In fact, the last time I was there I did not take my credit card back and when I realized this I was horrified because they would be closed the day I was flying out. I called them and they told me they would mail it to me in CA. Now that is crazy good customer service!

Rock n Roll Sushi – Menu with Prices – 1470 Taylor Rd Space# 108, Montgomery

I love this place! I’ve never dined in so I can’t really speak about the in restaurant dining experience. I’ve always come in and ordered to go and my food has always been absolutely fantastic! Fresh, delicious, well prepared, and everything I want…I love the sushi here. Whenever I come in, I’m always greeted with a nice hello…the customer service is top notch. I usually order a couple of rolls to go and they are quick and efficient with my order. I don’t customize, I pretty much stick to the menu because I love the fried/baked sushi concept. If you are more of a traditional sushi eater, they also have your standard California, spider, cucumber rolls, etc. I implore you to be adventurous, try something new with the fried sushi! It’s phenomenal and you won’t regret trying this great place. I’m so happy Montgomery is getting new restaurants, I love southern food but this is something new, fun and different.

Chile Pepper – Menu with Prices – 1427 N 45th St, Seattle

Left with full bellies and sniffling noses. Shredded chicken tacos were delicious but service was poor, restaurant was very cold, and restroom was even colder with ice cold water for washing hands. The salsa served was also very cold as if was blended from a frozen state. Only 2 tables occupied on a Friday night so we weren’t sure if it would be any good. With the food as good as it is, this place would be booming with some care for attentiveness and running the heat. It is 40 degrees this evening. Brrr. The waiter was engaged in conversation with the other table nearly our whole dining experience so we had to find our own silverware, our own box, and the cook ended up filling our drinks, bussing our table, and getting our check. Poor guy.

Tokyo Japan Sushi & Hibachi – Menu with Prices – 3000 N Green River Rd, Evansville

I stopped in here with a friend for dinner around 7:00 PM, and the establisment was completely empty. I briefly worried that this might be a bad sign, but my fears were unfounded. We were promptly seated and orders taken. The waitress was friendly, but all business. The atmisphere and decor were pleasent, and everything seemed clean. My friend ordered a couple sushi rolls, and I had the Teriyaki Salmon bento box. I ordered it because it gives a good variety of different things on the menu. It came with miso soup, ginger salad, tempura fried shrimp and vegetables, pork fried rice, spring rolls, a california sushi roll, and the Salmon teriyaki. All of them tasted fantastic, and were excellent examples of what Japanese cuisine should be. I highly recommend it to anyone.

Ocean Hunter Fish Market – Menu with Prices – 114-38 Sutphin Blvd, Jamaica

Finally made it to Ocean Hunter and it was sooooooo worth it! I was purchasing dinner for a small family celebration. Feeding 7 ppl with different requests could’ve been a total nightmare but thanks to the staff…it was a breeze! I ordered steamed salmon w/ corn, coconut shrimp, fried whiting, calamari, scallops, rice, salad and sweet potato fries. Everything was delicious but that calamari…was PERFECT!!! I usually only eat a few calamari when dining out because it’s either poorly seasoned or rubbery. This was NOT the case at OH!! While driving home…I ate so many that I had to stop myself. The the crunchy batter and lemon pepper flavor was so spot on…and not one had that rubbery consistency. My family enjoyed everything and my younger nephews now like calamari too! We will be regulars at OH!
