YES. I was traveling through and got to my hotel around 9pm and all I wanted was a warm drink and pastry. PERFECT. I used uber eats and ordered a Large Hot Chocolate (IT’S Large no joke) and Banana Bread. By the time I got my order there was a fantastic note on it. So simple yet so kind thanking me for ordering. The banana bread was still moist and warmed in its pastry bag, and the hot coco was absolutely perfect temperature. I know your thinking it’s just banana bread and hot coco, well it was way better. Try it, trust me you won’t regret it at all. Went back by the next morning and got the banana bread and the Mythical Mocha! It was way better than any Frappuccino from a Starbucks. As an out of towner thank you for your kind service and amazing drinks and food! Definitely will be back!

Cross Bay Deli & Grill – Menu with Prices – 10510 Cross Bay Blvd, Jamaica

Been coming here for over a year about twice everyday, and I have never been to a deli so accomadating as this one. Keep this in mind it’s a Deli but they adhere to great customer service so well, that when I requested a beef patty with coco bread they told me they didn’t have coco bread. I requested to Lindsay if he can get the bread because I love beef patty’s with coco bread and cheese, and sure and behold about a few days later he had the coco bread. Best Deli I’ve ever been too. Pictured below is a beef patty with cheese, bacon, and hot sauce. Thank you again for exceptional service.

Paul’s Caribbean Bakery Inc. – Menu with Prices – 4374 White Plains Rd, The Bronx

A favorite neighborhood patty spot! My mom would bring me here when I was a little girl after school for a fresh, hot beef patty. About 20 years later it’s still my favorite place on white plains road for a beef patty. I’m always greeted with a big smile and treated very nicely! Their coco bread is the perfect, fluffy, buttery accompaniment to the flakey patty.. I usually skip the coco bread because the beef patty on its own is very filling *to me*. The patty has the perfect ratio of crust to meat filling..unlike some places with lots of dough, minimum filling. I have tried other patty places, but I always end back up at Paul’s!

Not By Bread Alone – Menu with Prices – 940 Hansen Rd, Green Bay

I stopped in Not By Bread Alone for a quick breakfast while exploring the city on a weekday morning. I was greeted by a super-friendly staff and enticing aromas from the numerous baked goods. I settled upon three items to take with me: a sausage muffin (warmed to have with the coffee I had in the car), a bread pudding muffin (for later) and a loaf of sourdough bread. While waiting on the sausage muffin to be warmed, I was asked if I wanted my load of bread sliced or not. The sausage muffin was unlike anything I had ever tasted before. With a pastry crust which reminded me of a biscuit, I bit into the biscuit and was enticed by a wonderful combination of pastry and sausage. The proportions were perfect–there was enough sausage for every bite of the muffin. A perfect start to a chilly morning in Green Bay. As I completed errands that morning, I paused and had the bread pudding muffin as a pick-me-up snack. I wasn’t sure what to expect from abread pudding muffin, but it tasted like the homemade bread puddings I’ve had in the past. A wonderful treat to get me through until lunch. The sourdough bread reminded me of the bread I fell in love with during a visit to San Francisco many years ago. It tastes great out of the bag or toasted to accompany breakfast at home. I will definitely plan a return visit to Not By Bread Alone whenever I am able!!!

Lic’s Deli & Ice Cream – Menu with Prices – 800 E Diamond Ave #3420, Evansville

I give it a one because you have to, if you want to leave a review. Today on my way to work, I thought a Strawberry Banana shake would hit the spot especially if it comes from Lics. Boy was I wrong, it was the worse shake I’ve ever had. I also got one for a girl at she had Chocolate and let me tell you it was a very light tan she said she thought they forgot to add the chocolate. So we wont be back to the one on Diamond ave. It was at 11:37 am this morning. They need to train all of the employees how to make them, it was a young kid working he kinda acted lost.im not writing this in Hope’s of getting free ones, because as of now I wont never be back not even for a free one. I just hope they do something about it. I can almost say I bet I wont be the only one to explain today.

Almendrares Pastry – Menu with Prices – 14637 SW 42nd St, Miami

Came here because so far this place had a perfect score in the yelposphere. Right by Braddock Senior High I’m sure this place gets packed. I know if there was a bakery while I went to school there I would of been much fatter but also happier. Came here in the morning. It was empty. Walked in to find a beautifully decorated bakery. Even the outside looks fancy. Like a Cuban woman and a French man had a baby and that baby grew up to be a baker. The lady at the counter greeted me as soon as I came in even though she was taking care of another man there that was about to leave. I took a quick look and got my favorite: a croqueta (one guys, portion control) and a cangrejito which I thought was something else but we will get there. She rang me up super cheap like less than $2, she said gracias linda (yes call me pretty all day), so I tipped her and I was off. Got in my car and opened it up like a fatty. Croqueta was perfect. I like ham croquetas. I know everyone had other favorites but I’m simple and if you perfect that it’s good. This one was good. I ate it fast. Then I went to open the cangrejito. I really thought it was a large ham stuffed pastry. It’s big and the outside looks soft but it’s not. It was essentially hard Cuban bread. I wanted to cry. So I just said f it and kept it in the bag, my son will eat it he loves bread. So I took the piece I broke off and tried it… and then just like that I couldn’t stop eating it. …. I’m not going to say it’s good because I don’t like hard bread but it probably was amazing because I ate half and now my son has only half to eat. I literally stopped myself. So if you are in the area and want Cuban pastry’s this is the place. I suggest it for sure.

Jimenez Bakery – Menu with Prices – 1915 Dutton Ave, Waco

One of the best bakeries in Waco, if not THE best. There was a large selection of Mexican sweet bread, as well as ginger pigs, pastries, and other assorted goodies. Large bin of fresh bread. (I watched it come out of the oven!) Most of the offerings are sweet, however you will find some options like regular loaves of bread. The Concha as well as a few of the sugar breads are dry, I recommend eating those with your favorite beverage, like coffee or milk. Everything was really cheap, each pastry ranges from .50 cents each to .75 each. I’m fairly certain everything is .50 cents unless otherwise noted. Oh, and another thing. The bakery IS cash-only, so make sure to bring at least 10 dollars. Trust me, you can get a lot with that 10 dollars.

Magpies Cakes – Menu with Prices – 846 N Central St, Knoxville

I’m a little late with this review but the cupcakes are great and deserve their props. My boyfriend is a pie man and I’m a cake girl so he stopped by Magpies and got me some cupcakes like a sweetheart one weekend. He got Chocolate Caramel, Chocolate Fudge, Red Velvet, Chocolate Mocha, Just About Decadent, Carmel Macchiato, Lemon Raspberry and Strawberry Cream. He got a dozen which can run from $22-32 depending on what you choose. They have a menu on their website with prices. I think it’s pricy but I am self-admittedly frugal so you might think differently. I have to say that the cupcakes were absolutely amazing, though. I am a chocolate person so I just knew that any of the chocolate ones would be my favorites. My fave was the Red Velvet! It was incredible. The icing was perfect and just made it that much better. The Chocolate Mocha surprised me because I am not a coffee person but it was very good as well as the Carmel Macchiato. Now, don’t get me wrong…the Chocolate Fudge, Chocolate Caramel and Just About Decadent cupcakes were fantastic…but the Red Velvet won me over in a shocking and surprising kind of way. Overall, they were amazing and if you have a special occasion then definitely splurge and go to Magpies. Actually, if you just need to make your day brighter, stop in for a single cupcake. It’s definitely worth it and “all butter all the time” is the way to go. Also, guys (and girls), if you want to make your significant other happy or if you’re in the doghouse…get them a treat from Magpies! Trust me, they will love you a little extra.

Trejo Tortilla Factory – Menu with Prices – 1272 W 6th St #2705, San Bernardino

First let me start off by saying… AMAZING!… being new to the area I am still trying to find my go to spots and so far yelpers have sent me on a wild goose chase and many of these establishments have been epic fails!…. that being said… this place didnt have that many reviews only 3!… but they were all great and since it wasnt too far i decided to try a tortilla place again even though I had a horrible experience at las 4milpas the day before… my dog wont even eat the tortillas!…. i show up its a bit hidden and a worker greets me right away…. i notice the shelves are not heavily stocked which it good so it doesnt go stale… I buy a salsa roja some chips and asked if i can only get a half doezen of corn tortillas… the woman was soooo kind she said yes i explained i was new to the area and the horrible experience the day before and she expressed that they take pride in their quality and brought me some fresh piping hot coen tortillas steaight from the grill they were making them on… and She felt bad i was new here and i havent been steered in the correct direction so she gave me a sample of her pork tamale and flour tortilla… i was very greatful took a picture to upload and left… Im driving when the smell of the tortillas are calling my name…. I pull one corn one out and its extremely hot u can see the steam in the bag still and it was soooo DEE-LISH my only regret was not having butter!… i rushed home and ate the tamale… nice spongey moist and full of meat the tortillas were homemade.. the flour ones thin and taste with butter making them even better the corn was perfect in thickness and just an amazing flavor…. the chips were nice and thin and crisp… not salty at all which is great cuz i like to use them to make quick chilaquilles but wait thats not it!…. i baught the salsa because every week i drive to my gmas in ELA and pick up home made salsa for the week but i ran out early and wont be able to make it til friday so i asked for a red sauce and WATCH OUT…. it has a bit of a kick…. its awsome when a salsa can make your nose run u know its a good one!…. i will be having chilaquilles with that chips and salsa in the morning… I will go back… and sample the chicharron and carnitas cnt wait!… just try it and u wont regret it!

Palma’s Bakery – Menu with Prices – 3 Acton St, Worcester

Being Italian and growing up in East Boston had me surrounded by wonderful bakeries and amazing bread. When we moved out here last year I tried to find Italian bread but only found it in the supermarket – which is not italian bread. The Italian bakeries in Shrewsbury do not make bread, just pastry. I’d beg my mother to bring me bread from Boston but really wanted a place out here. My neighbor told me to try Palma’s so we did and we are hooked. The bread is amazing but so are the sandwiches and cold cuts. It instantly reminded me of home, especially because we got the bread right out of the oven. It was so hot they couldn’t cut it and all the way home it smelled amazing. It was perfect. The Italian sub was great too and on a freshky baked roll. I’m so happy to have good Italian bread again – along with the amazing sandwiches.

Pour Company – Menu with Prices – 136 W Wilshire Ave, Fullerton

I haven’t had an opportunity to come here other than brunch but in Fullerton this is the best outdoor patio you can find and never disappoints in regard to the quality of their food and drinks. I like how Pour has kept it simple with their design, making sure there is ample natural lighting without being blinding. There’s a bar in the patio to make sure that your drinks are never dry and best part is their bottomless mimosas are not pre-mixed if that’s what you so desire. LOVE cause bottomless mimosas which are pre-mixed have never been a good experience for me. Although some of their brunch items may seem underwhelming as it is just the one item with no sides. Trust me that they know how to do that perfect balance in comfort brunch food that looks delicious while not sacrificing any taste. Most recently my husband and I ordered the banana pancakes and the Breakfast Sandwich. Absolutely mind-blowing how amazing they both were. Just think banana foster’s pancakes with just enough sauce dripping off the stack of pancakes but not so much that it becomes soggy. The breakfast sandwich can be made with your choice of sausage or bacon. I chose the sausage but with the other components it was to die for with the perfectly toasted, flaky croissant, the perfect amount of oozing cheese, the eggs perfectly done. After finishing our dishes, my husband and i were stuffed which trust me never happens we eat an insane amount of food. The staff is friendly and nice although when they are really busy sometimes it is harder for them to notice you right away when you need something but overall they’re service is great over the few times I’ve been here. Our go-to spot for brunch in Downtown Fullerton.

Heart and Soul Coffee – Menu with Prices – 930 11th St, Modesto

Little brother wanted some coffee after having lunch. He recommended this place that is downtown. The ambiance was cool. Love the open space. I ordered a hot mocha and my brother ordered a different drink. Think it had the name of lumberjack latte but I could be wrong. The drinks were made fast but one issue. The girl made me an iced mocha and not a hot mocha. Oh well let’s run with it right. I’m actually glad I did. This iced mocha was good. Just the perfect amount of sweetness. If I had to do it all over, I would Order a non fat iced mocha. In the end, the screw up turned out to be a blessing. Thanks for the great iced mocha.

Pop-a-Top: General Store – Menu with Prices – 201 SE Depot Ave, Gainesville

If you’ve never been to Pop-A-Top, I don’t know where you have been in Gainesville!! My favorite bodega, I love that I can always pop in here and find the best food, treats and drinks! The staff doesn’t always seem the most-upbeat or happiest to see you, but they sure make up for it in product! I’m not usually a baked goods kinda girl, but the pastry selection here has become a traditional stopping point for me when downtown. As someone who is dairy-free, it’s amazing to have the delicious vegan options like Muffins, Banana Bread and so much more. Even when the pastry isn’t vegan, it still ends up leaving with me. ? There are also amazing meal options! Whether you opt for a fresh salad, sandwich or reheatable meal, it’s made by the same great folks responsible for the yummy food at The Top across the street! I absolutely love their Breakfast Burritos but wish so much that they offered a dairy-free/vegan option, seeing that so many of the GNV community is vegan and the delicious burritos are covered in cheese lol. (I’ve actually bought one and sat and picked out the cheese, I wanted it badly but didn’t want to be sick!) I am happy that they have brought back Cashew Cream Cheese! Love Pop-A-Top!
