My friend and I decided to get sandwiches at the Stuffed Inn on a bit of a whim. The menu looked really appetizing, regarding both the sandwiches and all of the other things you could buy on the side. Everything also seemed very reasonably priced and relatively cheap, considering how expensive some food options are in the Bay Area. I ordered a Big Hot Double Pastrami and Cheese sandwich for about $6.75, and split a half pickle ($0.50) and potato salad ($1.25) with my friend. There is a lot of variety in what you can add onto your sandwich, with regular or spicy mustard, mayo, bean sprouts, jalapenos, onions, tomatoes, and banana peppers. The line was a bit busy during rush hour, and it did take a while to make my sandwich, but that’s to be expected. The staff is very nice and considerate, and the atmosphere of the shop makes it really seem like a comfy home. The sandwich and pickle were delicious, but the potato salad might have been the best potato salad I’ve had at a restaurant. We also ordered a split pea soup, but that wasn’t as good, it was just pretty ok. Overall, I’m definitely coming here again soon.

Timmy T’s Gourmet Grinders – Menu with Prices – 1177 Bishop St, Honolulu

I love me a good sandwich! For those of you working or visiting downtown Honolulu, you know how crazy lunch hour can get. There are many places to go, but they’re spread out over downtown, and most if not all have lines out the door. This is my second visit to Timmy T’s, located in the Hawaiian Tel building (where the customer service shop used to be) close to the corner of Bishop and Beretania. So happy that there’s a sandwich shop up on our side of downtown for a change! On my first visit, I had a gift card, so I ordered the Pacific Pastrami (1/4# of thin sliced pastrami with dijon, cheese, lettuce, pickle chips and red onions for $11.49), because I really love pastrami. I’ve been on the hunt for a good one for a long time, and sadly, this one was okay. It was a little dry for my taste, but I attributed it to my asking for no mayo. However, the pickles in the sandwich made it taste really good! I had eaten only 1/2 of the sandwich, and my daughter found the other half and gobbled it up. I guess she really liked it! I had a special buy one, get one free offer for the Classic Grinders that I couldn’t pass up on, so my coworker and I decided to take lunch early and see if the offer was legit… YES it was! So she ordered the “Braddah” (described as tender roast beef, with lettuce, tomatoes and mayo) and I ordered “Da Vinny” (salami, capicola, provolone cheese, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, italian herbs and vinaigrette). Both sandwiches are on an 8″ Hawaiian style roll. My coworker said her Braddah was okay… the meat was a little on the drier side. My Vinny was really yummy! A pleasant surprise compared to the pastrami. While I was surprised with the amount of onions that were in there. I really think the Italian herbs and vinaigrette made the flavors of the meats and cheese pop. So good! There are a good variety of sandwiches on the Classic Grinders menu priced at $7.99. They also have Little Kahunas for $5.99, Local Grinders for $9.49, and Specialty Grinders for $11.49 and $12.49. They also offer treats from sodas to cookies ($1.49-$1.89) as well as add-ons like pickle chips and peppers ($0.59 each) to Xtra Pastrami ($2.99). Whenever we’ve gone, we have never had to wait more than 5 minutes for our sandwiches. Even if there is a long line, the workers are friendly, quick and get your sandwich made promptly! If you’re in downtown, swing on by, they’ll be happy to see you!

Anna’s Deli – Menu with Prices – 8207 Tourist Center Dr, Bradenton

Thought I’d give this sandwich shop a try after a recommendation from my fiancé. My first visit was fantastic. Went during a busy lunch rush, ordered at the counter, grabbed my drink and sat down. My food was ready as soon as I took a seat. I got the Italian, on special. It was toasted, flavorful, on yummy bread and had plenty of sauce on it. One of the best Italian sandwiches I’ve ever had. The potato salad is good, but not great, could use more mayo and seasoning. Over $13 for my sandwich, drink and potato salad. My second visit was lacking. Got the chicken salad, didn’t realize it was full of walnuts, bummer. The chicken was white/dark meat but I found myself spitting out gristle, there wasn’t much salad on the sandwich to begin with. And the potato salad tasted different this time, even less mayo in this batch. I thought the customer service was pretty decent the first visit, the blonde woman taking orders is very pleasant. My second visit I asked for extra napkins and got scolded by a dark haired woman, who I think might be the manager…I ran a restaurant for 5 years and I just thought that was unnecessary. Overall, slightly pricey for a sandwich shop, decent quality food, OK customer service, not much ambiance either. Despite how I feel about the overall vibe of this establishment I’ll be back, but only for the sake of the amazing Italian sandwich on special. I think I’ll take my order to go next time.

Chicken Salad Chick – Menu with Prices – 21630 Kuykendahl Rd #400, Spring

Decided to come here after physical therapy I was hungry for a salad. I came during the lunch rush and waited in line for about 10 minutes and placed my order. I got one of the combos and paid extra to upgrade to the seasonal salad. Everything was really yummy, I ordered the classic chicken salad, spicy jalapeño pimento they complete the plate with a pickle and small sugar cookie. Next time I would do without the pimento cheese it’s so rich you could probably split it with your friend and get a second scoop of chicken salad since the scoops are pretty small. Oh also they serve crackers with your scoop. Overall pretty good the cashiers are still struggling on the registers with doing the orders I guess because this establishment is pretty new. Go on an off time so you can enjoy your dining experience

Manhattan Bagel – Menu with Prices – 6001 Ridge Ave, Philadelphia

This location is very close to my home but I won’t return despite them being very friendly. I ordered the nova lox =$9.71 and it came with an ample side order and a pickle. The sandwich was below average in my opinion. The everything bagel was sweet and it didn’t bode well with this sandwich. There wasn’t enough lox and too many onions which threw the balance off. I still can taste the onions in my mouth. There wasn’t enough cream cheese either. I ate it because it wasn’t horrible but like I said I won’t return here. I don’t like wasting my hard earned money to be disappointed. On another note, yesterday I tried the one in Glenolden and my sandwich was perfect! I didn’t get as much potato salad but my main course was excellent. Which is why I came here. Nope, that was mistake. I might give this location another try depending on how desperate but I doubt it management will contact me to rectify my truly dissatisfied experience. I hate wasting money and having onion taste doesn’t help either I’ll try the Montgomery location next since it’s not too far.

Rise Up Bakery – Menu with Prices – 861 N Higley Rd #109, Gilbert

Just because my doctor told me cut out the sweets for awhile, doesn’t mean I still can’t come to my favorite bakery. I have been wanting to try their sandwiches for awhile now and today finally had the chance. And I was not disappointed!! I tried their Londoner which has roast beef, lettuce, tomatoes and Rise up sauce. Not sure what the sauce is but very yummy with a hint of sweet. Beard options are white, wheat, sub roll or lettuce wrap. I choose the sub roll and just as I figured, the beard was soft, tasty and all natural like all their beards. You can also make it a combo which comes with any drink out of their fridge and potato salad or chips. I snagged a bottle of water and the potato salad. I will never go to those “other” sandwich shops. This is my place now. My next visit I think I’ll try the Italian sandwich.

Figs & Honey Catering Menu with Prices 1039 Marietta St NW Suite A, Atlanta

I had to run an errand for work and decided to stop and grab something from somewhere around the location and not so busy which led me to Tiny Bistro. They were quite slow which ate up a lot of my time. There was only two people that were waiting on their food. I decided to do the roast beef sandwich with the bacon potato salad. I finally got my food and had to rush back to work and eat during training class. I started with the potato salad which which tasted like potatoes that were cut mixed with mayo with out an ounce of seasoning. There were some greenery in it but I couldn’t taste anything. I really couldn’t even taste the bacon and I love bacon! Anyhow, I was worried now about the sandwich although it was quite heavy. It was better and the roast beef tasted good. Although I was a little underwhelmed, it wasn’t a bad spot.

Red Barn B.B.Q – Menu with Prices – 4701 N McColl Rd, McAllen

I ran across this restaurant by accident. I was visiting a friend then walked to the shopping center nearby. I was hungry and decided to try this place out. This restaurant is very non-descript at the corner of the intersection. There is plenty of parking. The owner/manager is very friendly and loved to converse with his customers. The waitstaff is also attentive and friendly. I ordered a fajita sandwich with potato salad. The fajita meat was a bit tough and thick though tasty. I didn’t like the BBQ sauce on the fajita meat (I didn’t feel it went together). The potato salad was devine! Raw, white onions and pickles are offered on the side. Take out service was very quick.

Cambridge Deli & Grill – Menu with Prices – 90 River St #3805, Cambridge

Amazing sandwiches and BBQ. Enter my new favorite casual lunch spot in Cambridge. Can a Tuna Club Sandwich have the ‘wow’ factor? Yes, but not by trying to be fancy or different. All it has be be is good. Good salad, fresh veggies, perfectly toasted bread, perfectly crispy bacon, good assembly, made to order. As Michael Fassbender would say: Perfection. This amazing sandwich comes with a quarter pickle spear, a pickle slice, fries, onion rings, and wait for it… less than $10. I don’t know if the fries were completely homemade, but they were perfect. Super fresh, perfectly crispy on the outside, perfectly seasoned. Quite simply perfect french fries. The onion rings were really tasty too. For just $15 or so, you can get yourself a pretty legitimate plate of BBQ. The chicken was juicy and the ribs tender. The plate came with a choice of side, salad, toast, two legs, one thigh, and 3 large ribs. Not too shabby either… Service is extremely friendly and welcoming. You can tell they take pride in their food (as they should.) The one downside is that good things made to order sometimes take a little bit of time, so if you are in a rush call ahead to have your order ready for takeout. Simple. Good. Food.

Pasadena Sandwich Company – Menu with Prices – 259 Sierra Madre Villa Ave Ste 102, Pasadena

Delish! It was my first time here today, I was in the area and was hungry so yelped lunch options and this was one of the top choices. They have a parking lot but it was full when I got there so I found some residential parking nearby and walked to the restaurant. You can either enter from the back (if you parked in the lot) or through the front (order at the left side). They have additional seating next to where you order in a long hallway, otherwise they have a few tables in the area you order, but it was pretty full when I got there and slightly claustrophobic. You order at the counter and they have quite an extensive list of sandwich options and sides. Once you place the order, they will call your name when it’s ready and bring it to your table if your dining there. I ordered the PSC Big B which has the following in it: Roast Beef, Cheddar Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato & Russian Dressing on an Onion Roll. The portion size is quite large so I was definitely happy about that. I hate it when certain restaurants skimp on important elements of the sandwich like the meat/protein. This sandwich was bursting with roast beef and I really liked the soft onion roll. The only thing was I wish it had a bit more russian dressing, I suppose I could have asked for more but I was being lazy. They do have a few condiment stations where they have a bunch of different mustards and sauces. I also used the yelp check in and got the Steve Style which came with a side and drink. I got the potato salad (my all time fave) and tropical unsweetened iced tea. I gotta say the potato salad was amazing- I’m a huge potato salad person and will usually order this over macaroni salad and coleslaw any day. I’ve had my share of mediocre potato salad but this one was flavorful and seasoned perfectly. Their pickle also was seasoned differently as well, it had a more savory taste, not sure how to really describe this- but it was good! Overall I have to say it was a pretty good experience here. I would definitely come back and try a different sandwich if I’m in the area. And definitely try the potato salad- it’s great!!

Pickletime Deli & Market – Menu with Prices – 7405 Hardeson Rd # A, Everett

If you haven’t been to Pickle time, you need to drop everything and go there. It’s amazing. My only beef with Pickle time, is there is no big huge vat of Pickles that are so big it makes you feel embarrassed of your own manhood! I forget this fact once I devour one of their sandwiches. Let me tell you perfect and spot on. I ordered the Meatloaf sandwich and it was to die for. The meatloaf itself was dare I say moist but not moist so much that it makes the bread soggy. The bread is toasted perfectly crisp. The house sauce is perfect in flavor and it really works with the Meatloaf Sandwich. On another day, I had the perfect Reuben sandwich. The meat was perfect, the Thousand Island sauce was perfect, the sauerkraut was perfect and you ended up with the perfect Reuben! You may be put off paying $6.99 to $8.49 for a sandwich! Let me tell you this they do not skimp on the meats and after all is said and done, you are getting more than what you paid for. Besides do you really want to go to a sub shop and eat the equivalent of a loaf of bread and flavorless meats! You would think Pickle time invented Deli. They for sure get it spot on! Please though humor me and get a vat of big fat deli pickles!

Chicken Salad Chick – Menu with Prices – 6535 Youree Dr, Shreveport

I like coming to Chicken Salad Chick because it’s pretty inexpensive, and it’s quick. But I’m never blown away by the food. Today I called in a to-go order because I only had a little bit of time for lunch. I got the Cranberry Kelli on a croissant with no sides (mainly because none of the sides are too appetizing to me). I like the subtle sweetness of the cranberries and the crunch from the almonds in the Cranberry Kelli. There are several flavor options to choose from. The sandwich came with a pickle and one of their small pre-packaged sugar cookies for a little over $6 (including tax). Pretty good price. Once I got back to work and picked my sandwich up, I realized the juice from the pickle made the bottom of my sandwich soggy. Gross. When I picked up the sandwich, I also unfortunately found a hair. Gross. I was super hungry and didn’t have time to get anything else, so I had to push the grossness out of my mind and eat it anyways. The sandwich is never anything special. Each time I go, the chicken salad to bread ratio seems way off. This was again the case. The bread itself is usually dry too. I also always noticed random “squeaks” when I’m eating it…you know, like the sound of chewing on a random piece of fat. Ew. Not the best quality chicken salad. For the price and the speed, it did the job and filled me up. It wasn’t terrible, but it sure wasn’t amazing.

Shorties Drive-thru BBQ Menu with Prices 6 Newfound Rd, Asheville

I’m going to give this a generous 3 rating right now as they literally just opened the doors two days ago. The concept, drive thru only (with a walk up window for will call) seems to work, but if there is a long line there will be a bit of a wait to get your food. The location is easy to access, but gain if there is a long line you will be out in Newfound Rd! The pulled pork sandwiches were good, but not exceptional. Meat was a little cool to the touch and a little dry. They use standard fresh hamburger buns. The menu says all sandwiches include peppers, onions and mustard. Ours did not, but did have a small container of creamy slaw and a small container of sauce. The slaw is good, the sauce is OK, but again, not exceptional to other BBQ’s in greater Asheville area. The potato salad and french fries were very good. You get a good portion of fries, but a rather small portion of potato salad with sandwiches. Our take out bag did not include napkins or anything to eat the potato salad with? The staff was friendly and they received a very high sanitation rating from the county. We’ll try it again to see if there any improvements.
