This restaurant is very mismanaged. My wife and I arrived at 7:30 PM. We requested Hibachi and were told by the host there was one party ahead of us and that it would be a few minutes before we were seated. No problem at all. Totally expect some amount of wait for Hibachi, especially being in a small party. We saw the party ahead of us seated but noticed that the host now seemed very frantic. A few parties came in and were seated for Hibachi almost immediately which made us wonder if our name was still on the list. But the host kept looking up at us. â??Just a few more minutes,â? heâ??d say. As 8:00 PM rolled by, two families walked in and were now in the Hibachi queue. Several times, waitresses and cooks came up from the back to talk to the host which seemed odd, as if they were dealing with some other issue. This made the few-minute-turned-half-hour wait seem more reasonable. Thirty more minutes passed though with no news. At 8:30 PM, a family of seven walked in the door. About two minutes later we were finally seated. An hour wait in total but at least we were now comfortable and had a great view of the grill. As soon as we could get situated though, the host came by and motioned for us to stand up again. He told us we were going to the party room. He then added five place settings to the table leaving us to awkwardly stand in the middle of the dining room for several minutes. The party of seven who had checked in seconds before were seated in our spots. We followed him to the entrance and he gestured for us to sit back down in the waiting area we had just been in for over an hour. We waited again for the party room to be cleared out. Finally, we were seated with the two families that had now waited over thirty minutes. The party room has two grills and we were seated on the far right side. Because there were two kids at the left grill, we figured the chef would use that one and we were right which put us approximately 10 feet from the action. Understandable, but not really the same Hibachi experience. After an hour wait, the pace of Hibachi seems to take much longer. I took the first picture when we were first seated: 8:36 PM. I took the second picture at 8:55 PM. Still no chef. Youâ??ll see I ordered Edamame and it had been boiled and salted, but arrived cold. Chef came by shortly after, which put our entree at 9:30 PM, two hours after we arrived. My wife prefers her steak medium rare, but to her chagrin, has to order it well done for medical reasons. The chef made a joke at her expense. Needless to say, it was difficult to fork up $60 for the experience my wife and I had at Shoji. Itâ??s strange that everyone in line is quoted â??just a few minutes,â? but that could mean immediately, thirty minutes from now, or in an hour. Perhaps if we were in a larger party or had kids, the treatment would have been better.

Tokyo Hana Hibachi & Sushi Bar Menu with Prices 10001 Coors Blvd NW, Albuquerque

This is by far the worst review I have ever left for a restaurant. Our first visit was opening week, that was a terrible idea. We have a short wait for a grill, then waited an hour for a chef. We should have left, but gave them some time being they were so new. The other people at the grill where getting pretty restless. The chef was more concerned with being funny than he was about paying attention to his cooking. It took an additional hour and a half to make our meal. Needless to say it was very cold when he was done. And the servings where very skimpy in comparison to other similar restaurants. We chalked you to them being NEW and not having it all together. We decided to give it another try after a couple months, we took a some friends for dinner. We had 30 minute wait, on a Friday evening, that’s not too bad. We were promptly seated and order taken. I order some sushi to start us off and everyone in our party of eight ordered steak, filet mignon and scallops. The grill chef arrived and took meat temperatures from everyone. He started off with the normal tricks and crowd pleasers. The show was off to a good start. He started to cook the rice and noodles and that where I noticed that the first visit was not a fluke. The servings were tiny again, when it can time for our steaks to come off the grill he served the kids and they ordered theirs medium, mine was served last and it was ordered rare. I even asked him, “Do you think that is rare?” He said yes sir. The remainder of the steaks were ordered medium rare and they came out after mine did, if that tells you anything. The games and distractions are what they focus on, rather than the meal. Table service was atrocious, not enough servers and too many managers. When I spoke with the server, they informed the manager, the manager offered me 20% off the check, or so I thought. When the bill came they came they had taken $4 off my well done steak. We will definitely not be back. I recommend everyone stay far away. Make the drive and go to Azuma or Hibachi One. Not worth it.

Zuki Japanese Hibachi Grill & Sushi Lounge – Menu with Prices – 1448 N Green River Rd, Evansville

Tonight we arrived 25 minutes early for our 6 pm Reservation (5 adults and a 4 year old – the reason we made reservations), to celebrate our daughterâ??s birthday. We checked in and waited. At 6:25 pm, after asking the hostess twice – â??how long did she think weâ??d have to wait….considering our reservation was for 6 pm?â??, we were told they were opening up their private party hibachi room for us. At 6:35 pm we were taken to a room at the back of the restaurant. The hostess said it was not usually used because it was a â??little coolâ? (the outdoor temperature was approximately 25 F). We were seated and remarked that the room was Cold …. you could see your breath when you talked. The 4 year old was bundled up and the waiter said heâ??d â??have someone light the grill, perhaps that would warm it upâ??. There was actually a breeze coming from the ceiling. We lasted 5 minutes after the grill was lit and glasses of water set out. At 7 we were cold, still hungry and more than a little upset that our celebratory dinner for our daughter was not going well. After telling the waiter, who was there to take our orders we would not be staying (it is hard to enjoy spending the kind of money this type restaurant charges, no matter how the food might taste, while your hands and feet are getting numb). When we were leaving my husband tried to speak to the owner/manager and relay our disappointment that any restaurant would take a reservation, have the customer wait 35 minutes past that reservation, then be taken to a room that could have served as their cold storage unit and expect the customer to enjoy a â??fine diningâ?? experience. . We would never recommend this restaurant. We actually felt warmer when we went outside. Of course we had to postpone the â??nice restaurant â?? experience because the other restaurants in Evansville were booked solid at that time of evening and you donâ??t take a 4 year old for a late dinner. . Zuki’s Might have good Hibachi food. We will never bother to find out. Weâ??ll make reservations somewhere else where they realize the customer is why they make enough money to stay open.

Was hopeful for a fun and delicious meal, and only got half of that combo. When we arrived (around 8 on a Friday night), we requested hibachi seating/dinner. Hostess informed us a party was on their way, and we’d have to wait on them to eat. Ok, no big deal. We’ll have a couple drinks while we wait. It took well over ten minutes for our drink order to be taken by a brand new (first day) server. We both ordered a cocktail straight off the provided drink menu, one of which is the signature house punch cocktail. Poor girl was so flustered, we both had to repeat ourselves 3-4 times. When the drinks arrived, the lack of alcohol was quite disappointing. My second drink (ordered the absolute hunk) was not the correct one (it was green apple, which is absolutely NOT what I ordered), and I did receive some pushback from our server when I explained that my pineapple drink was in fact, green apple. Our actual server (Paige) was awesome. We ended up with a free appetizer because the party the restaurant was waiting on took almost 45 minutes to arrive. Paige kept us updated and well stocked while we waited. Our chef was entertaining, and cooked our food perfectly, but there was a significant lack of flavor in all the grill items. Overall, we won’t likely be back, and now I owe the GF a proper BDay dinner.

Food was okay but service was terrible. The two girls working the front talked to my family and I like we were dirt. We had a party of 15 for a surprise birthday gathering… my mom called ahead and they said they donâ??t take reservations but when we get there to let the manager, Abigail, know and she will have them push tables together for us. When we arrived, I let the two girls up front know we were there and they said we had to wait for our entire party to arrive before we could be seated.. even though we knew exactly how many people would be there… After everyone but the birthday boy arrived, I told them we were ready to be seated. They then told me there were no available tables and there would be a wait. Even though I told them 20 minutes before that we were there and ready to be seated. When I asked to speak to Abigail, they wouldnâ??t let me. After another 10 minutes of waiting, my aunt asked the girl up front how long it would be until we were seated… she replied, â??I do not know, would you like to go ask the customers sitting and eating how much longer they will be?â? We weâ??re finally seated after waiting for 45 minutes… needless to say, wonâ??t be back!

Osaka Mobile – Menu with Prices – 3827 Airport Blvd, Mobile

My husband and I have been here many times before and haven’t ever really run into any problems. I once went on my own and had a rough experience with a waiter who had been there for a day or so. His service was fine but the owner woman kept yelling at him loud enough that I could hear and I felt terrible. Today we went there for lunch and wanted Hibachi. As soon as we arrive they seat us at a table with two people on the end and right across was a full table (the hibachi tables are connected). The couple thought it was weird that they made us sit together (which it was) and they left. We waited about five minutes for the waitress to get our drink order. She brought our waters and we then waited another 15 minutes for her to come back to the table. She told us that another table across the room was there first and we’d have to wait another 15-20 minutes. We didn’t mind waiting but we would have like to have known that a little sooner. She then takes our order. Then the owner comes over to the table while my husband is in the restroom and asked if we want to move over to the table across the room because “it will be quicker”. I told her I wanted to wait and ask my husband and she said ok. She came back 5 more times and asked me the same question and I repeatedly told her I wanted to wait. At this point I was fed up. My husband comes back and we move tables after having been there for about 30 minutes. My husband and I realize that they wanted us to move so they could cook our food with that same large group, to which we knew we would be receiving a smaller portion size because you can’t cook for 12 on one Hibachi grill. So we up and walked out with no food. The owner is very pushy and inconsiderate. The staff is not well trained. It’s a shame because we love the food there. Probably won’t be back.

Grande Grill Steak House – Menu with Prices – 5112 W Expy 83, McAllen

We had a Christmas party for our staff planned well in advance (2 months) w/ Grande Grill. By the time the date arrived, 2 of the managers we spoke with didn’t work there any longer. We planned (and paid a deposit) to have a private room setup for our party. We spoke with the manager the day prior and day of the party to confirm. When we arrived they had us in the main dining room (to their credit they didn’t seat any other tables in the dining room). Unfortunately this wasn’t we had agreed on – we had specifically picked out one of their private rooms to use. The main area had guests coming through, was open, had TV’s which were distractions, etc. It just wasn’t what we had agreed on, and what we would expect for paying almost a $1000 for a dinner. The wait and bar staff was not prepared. It took 30 minutes for our party to get drinks, and what felt like an unreasonably long time for appetizers to come out. (We had pre-ordered the first course, so they new what they needed). I can only assume this is because the kitchen was probably understaffed as well. Ultimately, the food was good enough – but they didn’t live up to any professional standard. This place is not ready for a professional group – they may be fine for a party of 2 or 4… but don’t trust them any further than that.

Little Prince LA – Menu with Prices – 2424 Main St, Santa Monica

I will say up front, i would have considered giving five stars if it weren’t for the terrible attitude of the snotty (and dare I say super arrogant) 20 something kid manning the host stand. The host is incredibly important as they are the first face people see and first person people work with when coming in, and this kid has a HUGE chip on his shoulder. My wife and I had brunch here today, as it was recommended to us by a friend of the owner. I did not bother making a reservation because when I looked on open table there were reservations available every 15 minutes, so there was plenty of availability. When we arrived we were greeted by the kid at the front, who asked if we had a reservation. I explained we didn’t and why and he said “you can sit at the bar or the chef’s counter” to which I asked if there werent any tables available as there were only SIX other people in the restaurant and tons of open tables. He said “no there are no tables available” and I said “that’s odd as there were so many reservations available online”. He again said “you can sit at the bar or chefs counter”. I then asked my wife which she preferred and we were discussing where to sit when he interrupted us to say “would you like me to just choose for you?” And started walking to the chefs counter. Long in short, we ended up sitting at the chef counter which I do NOT recommend as it is extremely hot from the wood burning oven. We spent about an hour and fifteen having brunch, and during our entire meal, at no time were there fewer than FIVE two top tables available. It would have been EASY to accommodate a simple request but because we didn’t book a reso, this kid felt ok treating us like garbage. I’ll admit the food was great, but for the price of brunch and the overall experience, I’m not sure I’d return, especially while this arrogant host is employed there. It is always funny to me when restaurant staff thinks it’s ok to treat customers this way, especially in Santa Monica where restaurants shutter their doors every few months. Good luck to this place.

Rolling Sushi – Menu with Prices – 12592 Foothill Blvd, Rancho Cucamonga

This place has horrible customer service. We walked in and waited to get served someone came and took our order. 10 minutes later a party of four comes in they were high-fiving the chef and they proceeded to go sit down. We waited another 15 minutes they got their food even though we had ordered before them. We proceeded to wait another 15 minutes. We then asked where our food was and didn’t get a response. We asked why it was the other party got their food first and the server told us it was because they are regulars and the chef knew what they wanted. We paid for our drinks and proceeded to leave.

Tokyo Grill – Menu with Prices – 5535 W Market St, Greensboro

I have came here for a couple years and order the hibachi chicken. This is one of the best hibachi take out restaurants in greensboro. Have had far better inexpensive hibachi in charlotte, so keep that in mind. Chicken is decent quality as well as the vegetables. White sauce is good and they give 3 good sized pots of it with one box. Appreciate that they do not skimp on that. Employees are nice enough but they seem understaffed in the kitchen. Only one person was working on the grill and it wasn’t like nobody was waiting on food but me. On the phone the lady said the wait would be 15-20. Got there 20 minutes later and still had to sit for 20 minutes. Watched other customers go up to the counter frustrated asking where there food is. I would not recommend eating in and ordering there. Definitely order ahead of time and be aware of their longer than average wait times. You must also pay on the phone with card, they will not allow you to order ahead of time and pay in store. Food always hot and delicious though

Niko Niko Sushi – Menu with Prices – 1212 N San Fernando Blvd B, Burbank

Yelp says this restaurant does not take reservations. The waiter had the audacity to say that a party that arrived after mine had a reservation. Let me explain. Upon queuing, we were told to expect a 20 minute wait. 20 minutes passed by, we checked, and were told to wait a little longer without being told how much longer. 30, then 35 minutes passed. In the meantime, we see a group of four that just arrived and begin to walk into the restaurant. That same party waited with us, then began to proceed into the restaurant. I checked in again and saw that party sit down with the same waiter. 40 minutes have passed. Not only was the waiter dishonest about the time and unapologetic with wasting double what she estimated, her countenance remained cold and unwelcoming the entire time from my initial entry to checking back after the time she said had passed. Not only did she allow a group that came after us to be served before us, but she also made up the excuse of that said party having made a reservation. Also, she deliberately walked briskly and often went into the kitchen, avoiding the customer (me) at the door and my inquiries. I will spare describing her appearance, though this I leave as advice: – Make a reservation by phone, contradicting what they say on Yelp – Expect to wait at least an hour or more before being served at dinnertime

Pink Cactus Charleston – Menu with Prices – 100 A Spring St, Charleston

The service experience was truly one of the worst I have ever experienced. From the moment we walked in the door, there was no clear host. We finally flagged down a frantic server who seemed far too overwhelmed to really assist us. She then just kept coming to ask how many in our party and clearly had no system of keeping track of who was waiting for tables. While we were waiting we sat at the bar for at least 15 minutes and the bar tender NEVER acknowledged us. We were then escorted to a table and told to just order drinks from there because it would be faster. We ordered drinks as soon as we were seated and waited another at least 20 minutes for drinks. We ordered very simple appetizers – guacamole and queso. We were brought some salsas as an apology for the slow service but never any mention of our apps. We finally asked for them another 20 minutes later and our server seemed genuinely surprised. We weren’t even offered the chance to order entrees until we had been seated for at least an hour. A server tried to bring us another tables food twice. When she finally brought our food, she had no idea who had ordered what nor could she tell what type of tacos were on each plate. It was a literal disaster in your restaurant last night. What seems like quite simple food and a menu that should allow for somewhat quick dining was a two hour dinner (much of which was spent being totally ignored and/or having items forgotten). It seemed there was no clear leader or manager in the space. Also the cocktails were watered down. They served a glass of white wine at room temperature. The carnitas were pretty good but other tacos fairly unimaginative. I’ll be surprised if this place stays open for very long.

Sushi Groove – Menu with Prices – 2910 S Highland Dr, Salt Lake City

I was really looking forward to eating here but unfortunately, over the course of two hours my opinion of this place has tanked. My party of 4 arrived at 6:30pm and was told it would be about 20 minutes for a table. 20 minutes go by, then 35, then 45. By this point we double check with the hostess to make sure we didn’t get skipped. This hostess (didn’t catch her name but she’s got pink hair and a disposition that reads “I don’t give a crap”) shrugs and says she doesn’t know how long it’ll be and she’s not going to force people to leave. She for sure shouldn’t be working in any sort of capacity with customer service. An hour into this wait, we ask for some glasses of water since it’s really hot waiting outside. An hour and 20 minutes in, we ask our hostess if we can now get our food to go/order it as takeout since we are getting close to a time crunch. Another kind host overheard our situation and was being very apologetic, eagerly letting us look at the menu to get our order in ASAP. This guy knows how to interact with customers. Anyway, we get our order in, pay, and continue waiting. After 25 minutes we ask the status of our to-go order and the pink-haired hostess literally SHRUGS and says she doesn’t know. By this point we are at our wits end. We wait 10 more minutes and finally I went in, explained that this two hour debacle has been a horrible experience and we are cancelling our order and going to leave. As she’s processing the refund, I ask her if she knows why our food has not been made or even started. She then shifts the blame to us saying we needed to be patient and that by making our order “to go” we become less of a priority than those eating inside Sushi Groove. I have absolutely no idea why she didn’t think it would be important to MENTION THIS when we told her we were in a time crunch and that was the entire reason for making our order “to go.” The other, kinder host seemed to understand that our to-go order was a rush order and was to make up for waiting so long for the table. Hostess did not understand this, did not care at all, and made zero attempt to communicate anything going on with our wait or our food. We ended up leaving and eating dinner at The Dodo- which was fantastic as they seated us on their beautiful patio very quickly and promptly brought our food. It was a stark contrast to our Sushi Groove experience. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning nor recommending Sushi Groove to any SLC-ers. This whole situation could have been diffused by clear communication from the hostess.
