Not from the area but Iâ??ve passed the location a few times on my way to my barber…. after hearing my barber speak highly of the place I had decided with my wife to go there to grab dinner. The first attempt was not successful we unfortunately got there while they were closing down. We were fortunate to make it back there on 06/03/2019. What was pleasing is that a whole week has passed and they still remembered us that we had came and missed them before and appreciated that we did come back. The trip was not in vain at all… Seafood extremely fresh, Food well prepared, Money well spent. You can taste the passion that was put into the selection of the products being sold all they way to the preparation of the meal… Definitely will become a familiar face to that location and hope to see them expand to numerous locations within the 5 boroughs…. They truly set the standard for quality and service…. #GreatEats!!!

Union Barber Station – Menu with Prices – 3590 Redondo Beach Blvd, Torrance

First of all, the owner Rico is very dedicated to what he does. He’s a great barber and always does a great job. I had been looking for a great barber for the past 3 years since I moved to the South Bay, and FINALLY found one. I followed him when he opened his shop, and he did a great job. The fades are always neat and clean. His lines are always tight and for the quality of the cut, is very fast. I don’t mind sitting on the chair for awhile to get a good haircut, (my last barber took about 45min-1hr per cut), but it’s awesome that you can sit and be done within 30 min WITHOUT sacrificing the quality. You never feel like he’s rushing to get you out. A beer, water, mineral water, or soda comes with your haircut which is awesome!! He also has gels and different products in case you need it. A one stop shop! They accept walk-ins but I’d definitely recommend calling the shop if it’s your first time, and schedule something. You will definitely be back!!

Quicks Barbershop – Menu with Prices – 2200 E Williams Field Rd suite 119, Gilbert

Found Quick’s on yelp and glad I did. This barber shop has a fresh look inside. My barber was Mike whom made me feel at home right away. Services include men and women with shampoo sinks. I had a skin tight fade and it came out perfect. Quick offers hair care products but it’s not an overwhelming variety. Make an appointment with Mike, tell him exactly what you want and you will get it. I highly recommend Quick’s and will make it my new permanent barber. Give Quick’s a try and get ready to be impressed. Thanks Mike!

Phoenician Hookah Bar – Menu with Prices – 175 Harding St, Worcester

Hello out there in Yelp land! Today I’m doing a review on the Phoenician Hookah Bar…so here goes! The location: The one big minus about this place is the location, as it is in a rough area, but one that is up and coming so evidenced by the construction in the immediate area. There is also limited street parking nearby, but there is a parking lot within a couple minutes’ walk from there that will cost you $10 (Note: it is cash only!) The prospect: Upon entering the establishment, we were greeted by the staff and immediately seated on some very comfy chairs. We ordered our meals, drinks and hookah selection after a few moments of taking in the atmosphere, which appeared to be very modern. There are a lot of little tables but the place has enough room so it does not appear crowded with furniture. The products (Food, drink and hookah): The food was top notch, let me say that up front…I was very impressed with the quality, quantity and presentation of the food that we ordered. It was very nicely done which made for a great experience. The drinks we ordered, both specialty drinks, were expertly prepared and tasted as good as they looked…I was equally impressed by the appearance and taste of the drinks we ordered. Though the food and drink were excellent, we really came for the hookah and once again we were not disappointed…the hookah came out quickly and it smoked very well and it was very smooth. Coal service was regular and it lasted for quite some time before the flavor finally left (it was over 2 hours). One minor ding though…their tobacco selection is limited to Al-Fahker and Starbuzz, both weaker tobaccos. It would be nice if they had a selection of stronger tobaccos like Nakhla, Trifecta or Tangiers for those of us who prefer a stronger smoke. The value: For our meals, drinks and hookah, we spent about $100 not including tip…everything was wonderful and I considered it well worth the money, considering the quality of everything that we had along with the top notch service. Overall, I would heartily recommend Phoenician Hookah Bar to anyone who likes the cuisine of the Middle East along with some good (albeit weak) hookah. We will definitely be back!

Quiero Arepas – Menu with Prices – 1859 S Pearl St, Denver

I loved the food from their food truck, I was obsessed with the queso version. I was really excited they were opening up a location in my area. However, the food quality seems to have slipped at the brick and mortar location. It’s just ok, the arepas themselves are larger but that doesn’t really improve them. The fillings seem a little slap-dash and the great sauce seems barely present. Sometimes the filling (non-meat items) and/ or arepa itself seems under-cooked. Just bummed as they seem to have fallen victim to one of the classic issues when a food spot becomes popular- they get busy but then don’t seem to put forth as much effort into the actual product. Making them larger (and accordingly pricier) just makes the less-careful preparation stand out even more. I truly hope they take note and revitalize the quality because I was very impressed initially and think they have a great concept and opportunity. Some reviewers seem to have a better experience so I’m not sure if my timing on weekend evenings usually is the reason he quality of mine has suffered? I hope that’s all it is because that can be corrected if they care to do so.

True Gents Barbershop – Menu with Prices – 3940 N Miller Rd # C, Scottsdale

Miller Barber Shop is as good as it gets! I used to get my hair cut at Supercuts, but then, when I found out that my barber didn’t work there anymore, I asked around until I found out where she worked! She’s THAT good. I eventually found out that she got a job at Miller Barber Shop. She is a great barber, not to mention that MBS also gives you a shoulder/upper back massage, as well as the hot cloth with the minty-smelling stuff……it’s very relaxing and a great touch to the end of your visit! I do NOT go anywhere else for my haircuts!

My Cottage Garden – Menu with Prices – 327 N Kentucky Ave, Lakeland

My new, all time favorite place. One of the best hidden gems of Lakeland – maybe even in all of Florida. The atmosphere is unique and absolutely sweet. The teas rank in high caliber. The selection of loose leafs is grand. Prices are even more amazing, especially for the quality. The owner is the sweetest, you will not regret a visit. The quality of the tea, shop and products don’t even compare to the quality of the owner herself. She is the best. The hours are specific – but you are able to book appointments for parties or simply grabbing a cup of tea + freshly made scones with a friend if you call a day ahead. This gem also has 2 cute tabby cats the come in and out, adorable. There is genuine passion that drives this place. Must check it out. * Does have parking lot

Yellowbelly’s Barber Shop – Menu with Prices – 2014 28th St, Sacramento

I am a big fan of the classic barber experience. A clean cut, a great environment, no frills, and maybe a beer while I wait. And Yellowbelly’s meets the mark and way more! I stumbled into Yellowbelly’s after my current barber had no openings when I needed it. Since I was on the search, I stumbled across Yellowbelly’s. I walked in without an appointment and had no problem being seated. My first cut, I had Richie who was incredibly detail oriented and did such a phenomenal job, my loyalty was already won over from my previous barber. This place is legit! I came back recently and got a cut from Johnnie and I was just as happy as the first time. This is my new place and I say if you’re looking for a classic barber experience and an incredible cut, look no further!

Detwiler’s Farm Market – Menu with Prices – 6100 N Lockwood Ridge Rd, Sarasota

We love coming to Detwiler’s! Everything is clean, fresh and plentiful. The entire staff at Detwiler’s is friendly and knowledgeable. We can’t stop raving about how INEXPENSIVE everything is especially with all the organic products they carry. We love the fresh meat selection and the fresh baked goods. To be perfectly honest, the only thing that we are not impressed with is the ice cream that is served from the open case up front. We were very disappointed with the quality and the taste. But the server was very nice. Our suggestion is to get a better quality ice cream (to compare to the high quality of the rest of the products in the store… Something like Big Olaf or Bryer’s ice cream perhaps. Even a quality like Publix brand would be a LOT better). But that’s the only negative thing about Detwiler’s! (I don’t like mentioning negative things but I think it’s important to know.)

WestWood Smoke Shop – Menu with Prices – 737 NW 29th St, Miami

If youâ??re looking for quality products and customer service look no further. The staff really took the time to help me find the perfect gift for a friend. They have a fine selection of products with all different price tags which is nice. This is will my go to smoke shop from now on. Highly recommend!

Alkemy Barber Studio – Menu with Prices – 18537 Main St Suite 155, Huntington Beach

I’ve tried many different barbers throughout SoCal there are a lot of bad and a lot of good barbers but only a few excellent ones. Jace is in the rare tier of excellent barbers. Jace has been cutting my hair for a little over a year and it still amazes me the attention to detail every time I see him. It is easy for most barbers to be complacent after seeing you consistently. I usually go with the usual skin fade and trim on top but if you see his IG, he is versatile to do any type of cut. He is truly dedicated to craft and is a genuinely good person. His prices are on par with other establishments considering the quality and time he spends. Appointments are easy to make and if something comes up you can easily reschedule, just let him know he’s super easy to work with. You’ll find Alkemy Barber Studio a little hidden in ‘Phoenix Hair Salons’ surrounded by other businesses. With nearly 10 years of barber experience give Jace a try you won’t want to go anywhere else for your barber needs.

Modern Gents Premier Barbershop & Bar – Menu with Prices – 8233 Cooper Creek Blvd, Bradenton

I just moved to the area and was looking for a new barber/shop. Did some research and decided to give this one a try. To be honest, I was not necessarily impressed. I called ahead to ask if appointment was needed or walk ins are accepted. The girl that answered didn’t seem to be too knowledgeable about the process or products. She seemed to be reading them off a brochure or menu and didn’t seem confident. She was hesitating when giving answers. But I booked my appointment and asked for the presidential plus straight razor beard trim package. I arrived just in time. The place is nice and clean, seems upscale with large TVs. The barber was prompt and invited me in to sit at one of the chairs. I was told he was a master barber, however what that means to them was not explained to me (there is a $5 up charge for the services of a master barber but I don’t know why I paid that) the cut itself was good. I am satisfied with it. However, the presidential package should include the cut, straight razor trim, hot towel, shampoo cleanse and a scalp and shoulder massage. I only received the cut, towel and razor trim; no shampoo wash and no massage. I am not happy that I asked for and more importantly PAID for those services; however they were not rendered. It was my first time going there so I wasn’t sure in which order things were done so I kept waiting for the rest of the services but they never came. In a place like that, with the upscale vibe they’re going for and prices they’re charging, the customer should never have to tell them “what about my massage? Or what about my shampoo wash?” That is just awkward. It was not crowded, it was a weekday and middle of the day so it’s not like the shop was full and they couldn’t take their time. As a matter of fact, the products have a time frame in the menu on the website and the cut and beard trim was well under the estimated time. Not sure if they did enough to earn my repeat business.
