The restaurant smells like delicious fresh fruit and vegetables, with eclectic and colorful local art on the walls and bohemian textiles and vibrant colored pillows on the chairs. There are sweets such as cake, macrons, and live chia pudding in the glass refrigerator by the register for quick take and go. I ordered the live tacos and the ‘green fire’ juice. Both were fantastic and I was full 1/3 the way into my meal. I took the meal to go, and it took no more than five minutes for it to be fully prepared. Not unreasonably priced when compared with any other place in town. However I think it might be hard for people to wrap their mind around why it’s marginally expensive. Having been a raw vegan for a couple years, it seemed reasonable to me.

Miss Rachel’s Pantry – Menu with Prices – 1938 S Chadwick St, Philadelphia

I had been wanting to try Miss Rachel’s Pantry for YEARS and finally had the chance a few weeks ago. My husband and I sat at the communal table, which I was worried about as I did not feel like chatting up strangers all night. Luckily, our table mates were very chill and everyone mostly kept to themselves. It is BYOB and we brought beer + wine for our meal. The restaurant is very cozy and well decorated. Service was fantastic. And the food was so so soooo good. I myself am not vegan and have eaten at many top restaurants around the city. I think Miss Rachel’s holds it own against similarly priced non-vegan restaurants. Each dish was creative and delicious, I usually am not a fan of vegan cheese but they knocked it out of the house. The pacing and portions were perfect for me, but my husband found that he was still hungry after his dinner and another friend said the same. I would highly recommend Miss Rachel’s for a special occasion or if you are curious about vegan fine dining.

Dodici Pizza + Wine – Menu with Prices – 1200 E Adams St, Brownsville

An amazing place in downtown Brownsville. Fantastic food – their pizzas are traditional and are true Sicilian style. I can’t say enough about the food, people and atmosphere. I have so many positive things to say about this place it’s difficult to cram into a succinct review. Just trust me. This place isn’t just good compared to Valley restaurants – it’s comparable to food found anywhere in great restaurants in Texas. You will be treated well and enjoy your meal. Oh, and I’ve completely neglected their fantastic selection of wines that are reasonably priced and not so easy to find in South Texas. This place is making downtown Brownsville feel alive again – and I applaud the leadership and vision it took to get it rolling as well as the management and staff that will seemingly keep it rolling for many years. Enjoy!!!

Zambra Fusion Cafe – Menu with Prices – 6062 Holly Rd Suite B-6, Corpus Christi

This is so good!! I am from San Antonio where there are a lot of vegan options. I was in town visiting and came here for lunch and there were so many vegan options. The meal I got was a salad bowl and it was full of flavor and I couldn’t finish it because it was definitely filling. They also have vegan bakery items like cookies. I highly suggest going. There are also meat eating options for those who eat that. I was with a meat eater and he got a pulled pork sandwich and enjoyed it. Check it out and support local

Salads & Juice Bar – Menu with Prices – 981 Adams Ave, Montgomery

This is the ONLY bona fide juice bar in Montgomery, and it’s fantastic!! I was in Montgomery on business and was disappointed to initially find out that there were only Smoothie establishments around town; no Juice Bars. I wanted a healthy juice, with Kale, Cucumber and other stuff that’s good for the bod, so I didn’t give up. I looked and looked and finally found this place on FB. They were able to make my custom juice at a very affordable price, and with a huge smile to boot. Their salads looked yummy too. Had a 20oz green juice. I felt like Pac-Man after eating a power pellet. Awesome place! Don’t miss it if you’re ever in Montgomery.

Burger King – Menu with Prices – 16730 SW 88th St, Miami

I would never rate fast food, period, but how can you not with the Impossible Whopper. I still can’t believe one of the largest food chains added a vegan meal. This burger honestly tastes better than the actual beef whopper itself. If you ask for no cheese and mayo, it’ll be fully 100% vegan, and as for cross-contamination, you can ask for no broil and it’ll be done in a microwave for you instead. I love how more and more fast food chains are starting to have plant based options. It’s important for the environment. If you’re going on a long toad trip, or even just away from home, and still want to be able to have a quick vegan fast food option, this is amazing and a major step ! I also love their fries. I can’t wait to see what else these major companies start adding as the years go by and the movement keeps progressing. 10/10 Impossible !

Beauty of Sprouts – Menu with Prices – 1474 Fruitville Rd, Sarasota

Clean vegan eats @ beauty of sprouts ! Food- I ordered the falafel which was accompanied by a salad. It was yummy and very tasty! The menu had a nice selection of different vegan items. All vegan, gluten free, organic, and some raw options. Ambiance- I felt like I was at the owners home while she prepared a meal for me. It was very simple, sweet, and clean. Parking-easily accessible side parking Price-Menu items were pricier than usual, however the whole menu is certified organic which is a +++ Overall, great little lunch spot to grab a wholesome clean vegan meal.

Treviño’s Flour Tortilla Factory – Menu with Prices – 54 Boca Chica Blvd, Brownsville

The restaurant is bright and clean and their tasty breakfast is a good value. The tacos were really good and weren’t greasy at all. My egg & cheese taco was packed full and the scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly – fully done yet light and fluffy. E. is a stickler for chorizo and said the chorizo in his taco was crispy and delicious. Their flour tortillas were the star of the show. They were perfectly thin, not greasy at all and stayed soft and fresh throughout our meal. On this trip they also served a basket of crispy, cinnamony, sugared banuelos with our meal. What a treat! Service has been just fine too. The only drawback I’ve seen is that I don’t care for the bottled orange juice they serve, but their iced tea was a fine substitute. We may have just found a new favorite Brownsville breakfast spot! orange juice was Tropicana.

Possum Pizza Menu with Prices 510 W Oltorf St, Austin

This vegan pizza truck is quite a find… I’ve had vegan pizza before and there has been terrible pizzas as well as pizzas I thought were quite more than decent (which at this level gets a lot of rave from any vegans frustrated with subpar food and/or taste). Possum Pizza, taking over a parking lot with two other food trucks at an abandoned property (up for lease/sale?), took it to another level – churning out slices and pies that I, an omnivore, can actually love. So yes, they found a way to make me crave a slice of their vegan pies. I had the macaroni cheese and bacon (veganized) slice that has a drizzle of ranch dressing (this is a second time in which I’ve enjoyed vegan ranch dressing – a feat considering that I’m not a fan of ranch dressing under most scenarios). It had a kick, even though it was touted as being less spicy than their other available pie that was instantly available (I came in the late afternoon, my fault) – but it was perfect for me, who is spicy-hot-averse. And the best kick of it all? It’s quite affordable for vegan food – even compared to other vegan pizzerias in town (at this date, we have three in Austin, the new vegan capital?). Bravo Possum, bravo!

Touch of Asia – Menu with Prices – 6860 W 105th St, Overland Park

Ordered: Aloo Gobhi | Extra Spicy | Chapatti without butter | Onion/Chillies on the side Review: INCREDIBLE. Taste of Asia’s Aloo Gobhi is so special! The Gobhi (Cauliflower) was not too oily, not soggy, and perfectly tender, which to me, is most important! The visuals and the aromatics of my entire meal really made me nostalgic of meals I would have in my mom’s kitchen. Also, Touch of Asia’s rice was explained to me be vegan! Note: Coming from an Indian heritage and transitioning from a Vegetarian Lifestyle to a Vegan Lifestyle, has really allowed me to focus and appreciate Dry Indian Vegetable dishes; like Aloo Gobi, Binda Masala, Aloo Palak compared to animal-cream based dishes like Malai Kofta or Dal Makani, for example. Likewise, appreciating different types of Indian Bread beyond Garlic Naan; like Chapati or Puri, to name a few vegan breads offered at Touch of Asia. Touch of Asia offers quite the variety of Indian Breads, I suggest practitioners of all diets to explore ethnic menus beyond what’s familiar/comfortable to them, as I have! It’s quite fun! Critiques/Suggestions/Gratitude: Suggestion: As a Vegan, I am always going to advocate every restaurant to denote on their menus what IS already vegan or what CAN be prepared that way. Accurate denoting of what is/or can be vegan on a restaurant’s menu, really makes a diner like myself more comfortable and confident about their dining decision and, frankly, willingness to recommend. Touch of Asia has a LOT of menu items that are authentically vegan even without alterations. Why not label them as so? Suggestion: Promote/market your South Indian Menu a bit more; it looks promising! Gratitude: Wonderful and welcoming Team! Gratitude: Giving a FULL 5 star, based on Flavor! Thank you for taking care of me and understanding my diet!

Pacific Standard Tavern – Menu with Prices – 212 Crown St, New Haven

I’m really unsure how this place got so many positive reviews. While it is a nice venue to see live music and hear local bands, that’s where the positives end. I have been there multiple times and the service is always incredibly slow (the place is never full either). The bartender used a shot glass to measure out mixed drinks and while they have a list of “specialty cocktails” they make, when someone ordered a mojito they had to find a manager to make it and it took nearly 10 minutes. Even the beer selection is below average compared to all the other places on the same street. Save the money you pay for a cover here and go somewhere else for live music.

Negril Social Restaurant & Lounge – Menu with Prices – 3428 N Tryon St, Charlotte

We planned a birthday party for 30-35 people that should have been a stellar event. Instead the owner choose to divert his resources to a food truck event on the same evening, knowing this would ruin his commitment to us. As a result we arrived to a place that was not cleaned, tables were not setup, and the manager was not present. He had only one cook. Our guests arrived and were served slowly. The servers tried but were overwhelmed. Food apparently was diverted to the truck event so some portions were small. Some food had to be prepared quickly and did not get the required time to marinate resulting in poor or little taste. The preparation was very slow. One guest did not get his food until 3 hours after we started. To add insult to injury they sent an apology email that offered no reparation. The food was fully priced and not worthy of our time. The owner ruined a birthday and was fully aware that his actions would cause substandard service. We don’t need your apology– you should offer refunds.

Kathy’s Sandwich Bar – Menu with Prices – 1505 W Broadway, Vancouver

I’ve been coming to Kathy’s regularly for a few years now, started back when it was called Nunu’s Sandwich Bar. It’s conveniently located directly in front of the 99 B-Line bus stop. This place is definitely not designed to be a sit-down and eat place, although there is a counter that seats about 3 or 4 people. Food quality is amazing; sandwiches are made in front of you, and from what I understand, the soups, even the spreads are made in-house too. Menu is pretty expansive covering all sorts of dietary palettes from red meat, poultry to vegan – although a little lacking in the seafood department. The ladies behind the counter are very friendly and fun to banter with while they prepare your order. There are just two things I gotta ding this place for. 1) Pricey AF – a wrap / sandwich can get as high as 10-12 dollars. Add a homemade juice and we’re creeping up towards the $20 mark. 2) They don’t handle lunch rushes well – and not that I blame them. Being a small shop, and limited staff, and that everything is made to order, if you’re third in line, be prepared to spend 15-20 minutes in and out. Overall, great food and service. Avoid during busy hours or if you’re short on time.
