I heard so many great things about this place so I decided to check it out.. I called to order in advance and the person who answered the phone was having a conversation with someone else while I waited for him to take my order which I felt was very unprofessional so I hanged up to let him finish his conversation then called back. He apologized when I called back for the 2nd time which I thought was very nice. I ordered the egusi with goat meat and pounded yam. The egusi was pretty good but the goat meat barely had meat to it just bones which was disappointing. I also had the pepper soup and my problem is that it was sooooo unbarebly spicy.. of course Pepper soup is supposed to be spice but in all my years i have never tasted something that was so spicy u couldn’t even eat it. I literally had to throw it away which was a waste of money. I think as a restaurant u should make the spice enjoyable not unbearable. I’ll give the place a 2nd try.

Lzaza Indo-Pak Cuisine – Menu with Prices – 1409 23rd St, Des Moines

I was surprised to come by this restaurant when I was looking up the closest Indian restaurant from Des Moines airport. It is right there in 4-5 miles we were there. The location of this is not the greatest, but if you are in this part of the city and are looking for Indo Pak cuisine you can stop by. Apparently its already been 2+years of they being in business and I was surprised until now I haven’t seen this place. The place look wise is not fancy at all. It is as if someone robbed them and left with the crappy furniture. Restrooms were gender neutral and clean (Not Monica clean, but clean). The lady behind the counter kept on staring at us, may be because it was cold and I was wearing shorts. And so if you don’t mind all of the above. You should stop by for food. I guess enough of the place. Lol Service the kid who was taking order was nice and we were upset that they don’t have enough vegetarian dishes(my wife doesn’t prefer meat) and we asked if he could get paneer dish for us and he said yes. So we ordered Saag panner. Which had nice flavor and they gave us lot of rice…. Like a lot of rice! With the drink we ordered was mango milkshake – I can make it better and was not even thick. Then this being a Muslim place and they cook Goat meat the best so I ordered their spicy goat karahi, I felt after telling him spicy I was asking for more spice. But it was ok. The meat was tender really well done. The food portion was huge we both had leftovers. I also ordered (take out) tandoori chicken for dinner but was average I am guessing it was because of eating in the night. Naan was the only thing which we thought was average. Overall will come back for their goat meat for sure.

Miga Korean Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 39033 State St, Fremont

This cute little family owned restaurant has a homey and warm feel, which makes me feel comfortable whenever I go. You may not find the greatest selection of kbbq here but they do have platters of short ribs, spicy pork, bulgogi, and other basic korean bbq meats available (although they are on the pricier side). What I do enjoy is their selection of more authentic and harder to find Korean dishes, like Korean Black Native Goat Soup. Food ordered: 1. Tofu Soup (5/5)- I’ve tried the beef, seafood, and vegetable tofu soups and they are all delicious and have plenty of fillings. Tofu soup also comes with delicious banchan! 2. Bbq Short Ribs Plate (3/5) – Not going to lie, but this is more on the pricier side of dishes at Miga respective to other establishments. Why? For $29.99, I can go to an AYCE Kbbq restaurant and get way more meat. The short ribs were tasty and the meat was tender, but if I wanted more meat, I’d seek other places for more bang for my buck. 3. Spicy Pork (4/5) – I was scarred from spicy pork after having refrigerator burned ones from another Korean establishment in Fremont. Miga’s helped me regain my love for spicy pork. The only caveat was that the plate was so hot that some of the meat was scalded on the edges. Not a lot were like this so no biggie though. 4. Seafood Pancake (4/5) – Good seafood pancake with the standard sauce. 5. Korean Native Black Goat Soup (5/5) – Now, this is it. In the Chef’s Special section of the menu, you will find this special dish. This is a more traditional Korean soup made with Native Black Goat, which is only grown from Korea. Okay so I know what you are thinking, Goat has that pungent metallic taste, but I’m telling you, this does not! Complimented with fresh herbs and a clean and light broth with vegetables, this is a must try dish. Note: Miga has a combo meal choice which easily fills a party of 2. This comes with a tofu soup and another meat dish of your choosing.

Siam Thai Cuisine – Menu with Prices – 915 Hillcrest Rd Suite C, Mobile

Food was alright, however, I asked my server which of their curries was the hottest (red curry, could’ve fooled me) and requested “five star” spice level on said item which is supposed to be as spicy as they offer. I received the mildest curry I have ever eaten in my life; my grandmother would probably have loved it but I went to a Thai restaurant specifically for something very spicy. It did not taste right to have such a pathetically mild curry. I informed my waitress and she provided me with a particularly mild crock of red pepper flakes to add my meal which I very clearly desired to be very hot before hand. I got somewhat close to the desired level of heat I ordered but the texture of my curry was ruined by the 6 spoonfulls of red pepper flakes I had to add. Regardless of the friendly service and atmosphere, I highly doubt I’ll return. If you are someone who like spicy Thai food, look elsewhere; I was sorely disappointed.

Paradise Indian Grill – Menu with Prices – 5200 Fountains Dr NE Suite 100, Cedar Rapids

Its not just good food that attract people to a come and eat at a restaurant. Its also how you make it. I really don’t understand why Paradise ask’s for the spice level at the end of each order, when they really intend to offer you food with the spice level of their own Choice. We ordered take-out food when we had guests visiting with kids and we specifically requested for MILD spice level. We even called over phone and confirmed the spice level as MILD. But food we received was so spicy that we had to order again from else where. When we called to let them know of the same, we were told “I am sorry sir everyone has different taste”. When it happens once its a mistake, but when it happens the 4th time I would say its a habit. Every time when we order from Paradise I get the impression this is what we make the food, take it over leave it. I for one do not like pay for food that I cannot eat.

Ramen Yamadaya – Menu with Prices – 1728 Buchanan St Floor 2, San Francisco

Overall 4 stars: Spicy ramen: 0 stars. tasted terrible, worst ramen I’ve ever had. Ordered a med spicy, was ridiculously spicy, with no flavor aside from spicy oil (tasted like water w spicy oil in it). Hubby had to mix in soy sauce, rice vinegar on the table to make it palatable. Tip: order it with less spice than you’d like. Spicy miso might have more flavor…the waitress said lots of people get extra soup to add in bc it’s too spicy. Yamadaya ramen: 4 stars. The bamboo, chasu (pretty fatty but most chasu is), eggs (loveee ramen eggs w the gooey inside), noodles were all delish. Soup was a bit too salty and fatty (had lots of oil and fatty pieces inside) for me but pretty good overall. Service: overall 4 stars but initially 0 stars bc the waiter didn’t listen at all when we said hubby was allergic to onions and we didn’t want onions, green onions or chives, but the miso soup our chicken katsu curry came w had a ton of green onion. So we asked again and a waitress double checked and we learned the curry has onion in the sauce. So we changed it to the ramen. They were also nice about the spicy ramen when we complained about its terrible taste and helped us out. Overall, 4 stars, mainly bc of the waitresses. Not sure I’d return bc hubby had such a terrible experience w the spicy ramen.

Szechuan Chef – Menu with Prices – 4344 Convoy St, San Diego

F this place and F their nasty workers there. Never been before, and so I do a walk in for a to go order. Place seemed pleasant at first. I ask what the best thing they make she asked if I like spicy, which I do, I’m a huge spicy fan. She says the Lamb Soup so I say Ok! Asks if I want rice and of course I do, so I sit down at a table. She gives me the bill which I pay, and I always hold the tip until the end because why would you tip before you get anything? That’s just dumb. And do we really have to tip to go orders now? McDonalds? Taco Bell? She makes a comment under her breath when she collects the check seeing no tip, I mean she is staring at the bill? What’s up with that? And so I wait. And wait. And I see two tables of people who came in and ordered well after me get their food. Whatever. It happens. Maybe that was already ready benefit of the doubt. Mind you this lady is just ignoring me. Like no water, hot tea, basically rude doesn’t have time for me. Well I get my food and I go to open it, it’s double knotted so no way to get it open. I ask if there is a spoon in there because that’s the oldest chinese trick in the book, and of course there isn’t. There’s two chopsticks and a fork though! For soup! F yeah! I ask if there’s a spoon which she can’t understand, so I have to repeat it several times, she acts like oops I forgot. No you didn’t. I know your game. So I drive to work cut the bag open, thanks again lady, and take a spoonful of the broth and am immediately kicked in the nuts with how much pepper, jalapeno, habanero there is. It is literally a 15 out of 10 in spicy ranks. Now mind you I love spicy food, so I’m thinking this is just a challenge but after about 3 bites I’m dying, the chopped peppers and sliced fresh jalapenos are in literally every mouthful that it’s just not edible. I decide that maybe I’m over reacting and to pull out all the peppers in this thing (that I can) mind you the ground up stuff, flakes and pepper seeds are everywhere so I couldn’t get those. And you can judge for yourself from the picture of ONE of the containers. ONE. And it looked to be the less spicy one. I counted over 80 peppers. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF. SPICY does not give you the right to basically murder someones taste buds. You NEED to warn or ask how much spicy they like. You can’t just INUNDATE a dish to death with spicy materials! There were like maybe 4 razor thin strips of lamb, peppers, whatever the soup base was and that is freaking it. I put a massive amount of rice and those clear noodles in this thing and it still was too much to even enjoy. SHAME ON THIS PLACE.

Mr.Thai Bistro – Menu with Prices – 785 W Warner Rd #103, Gilbert

Yummy, the best Thai food I’ve had thus far! Stopped by for dinner during the week and we were the only ones dining in. The server (he might be the owner) quickly told us to pick a table and he dropped off the menus. There were a lot of yummy dishes to look from so we ended up ordering three to share. We ordered a chicken fried rice, a tom yum soup, and a chicken veggie delight dish. All with medium spice. He said they had three different spice levels. The soup came out first and it was piping hot. It was severed to us in a hot pot with the flame lit inside. The soup was really good but it was really really spicy. The broth is delicious. The chicken fried rice has got to be one of the best ones I’ve ever tasted! It was so good! The chicken veggie delight was also really good and had a unique flavor. Ugh my mouth is watering at the moment… The server was great and friendly! We will definitely be back!

SiamRice Thai & Tapas – Menu with Prices – 5071 Sheridan St, Hollywood

Probably one of the best Thai restaurant around my area! The drive is definitely worth it! I always go here during lunch because they have lunch specials. Their lunch specials are all around $12ish and it comes with a side of either soup or one spring roll. I always get the spring roll because they fry it fresh. One time I got the soup, but it didn’t look appetizing to me. It was like a broth with frozen peas and carrots. After that I’ve always stuck with the spring roll. Also, their portions are decently large compared to other restaurants. It’s definitely worth the price. Their pad thai is extremely mouth watering just thinking about it. I like my food spicy, so I ask them to bring me the spicy pepper flakes/powder. I only add about half the spoon because it’s really spicy. So be careful when adding the spicy pepper flakes/powder. Their service is also great and doesn’t go unnoticed! They always check up on you, add more drinks, and extremely welcoming.

Jane’s Next Door – Menu with Prices – 2053 Gottingen St, Halifax

So saddened to hear Jane’s left the common but HEYYYYY YA super pumped that I can fill my gut with her goodness close to my work. The coffee Gods placed a coffee card on my desk one day and I’ve been smitten ever since. It is literally the cutest place you ever did see. Super tiny but packed with personality and goodness. I spent a copious amount of time rummaging through the to-go fridge. It’s such a great idea for someone who just wants to grab something and bring it back to their desk to eat. Not to mention, taking dinner home after work. It appeared that I rummaged up an appetite as what was supposed to be a latte trip turned into a square-soup-biscuit trip. Hilariously enough my soup could’ve came from space for all I know. After ordering, the girl called my soup in over the phone and out popped a man from the back door. It was the neatest thing. The latte was bomb. The soup was hearty and delicious. The biscuits were buttery and decadent. But the squares, ohhhh those squares. I’ve never seen such perfectly cut squares in all my life. They tasted perfect too. Needless to say I’ve been back, multiple times. M’swell put my office right in there.

Tubtim Siam Thai Cuisine – Menu with Prices – 2359 Windy Hill Rd SE Suite 340, Marietta

I ordered through GrubHub last week. I actually called the restaurant because GrubHub didn’t allow me to specify how “hot” I would like my entree. The person who answered the phone was very pleasant, professional and how no problem accommodating my request. I ordered the Panang with Shrimp and beef and the Lemongrass Soup. The good….the lemongrass soup was great. Just the right amount of spice, the broth was flavorful and it came with a decent amount of shrimp. I really enjoyed it. The bad….the panang. I had a bad feeling when I saw that the color of the curry sauce was very light and very watery. It wasn’t that deep orange/rust type color that I am used to with panang. I also wanted it Thai hot and it really didn’t have any heat. The shrimp tasted like they were frozen and the beef…..well, it looked like steak-um strips. the taste was something I could take. I have had panang that isn’t the “best” but can still eat, this was horrid. I literally had two forkful’s and threw it away. I usually give food I don’t like to my neighbor because he will eat anything. However, I couldn’t even pass this off to him. I really wanted to like this place because I receive good service and again, the soup was great. The panang….never again!

Chick-fil-A – Menu with Prices – 4801 Outer Loop, Louisville

I went here and got a Spicy chicken delux. I don’t think I’ve ever had an issue with getting an order the way it comes. The girl at the intercom asked what cheese I wanted on it, I told her I wanted it the way it comes. She said it comes with 3 options, I replied the screen says it comes with pepper jack so I’d like it the way it comes. She wanted me to say what cheese I wanted it to come with. I know it sounds trivial but the sandwich comes with pepper jack. I’ve never been treated that way before. I could tell the girl was annoyed with me and she never asked me what condoments I wanted, I had to ask for them at the window after I had already received my order. It’s not to much to expect a higher level of service, that’s supposed to be what Chick-fil-A is known for, not this.

Biryani & Co. – Menu with Prices – 9406 S Texas 6, Houston

Best Indian food we’ve had in Alief! Came here for a family dinner last night, and was truly impressed with each dish- and we ordered A LOT. Every item was flavorful, memorable, and different. You could tell the chef knew what they were doing because there was something unique about each bite. If you don’t want to read the whole review here is what you need to know- Great service, incredible food, high quality ingredients. Just thinking about this meal from last night is making me hungry! The food is authentic and spicy, so if that’s not your thing be sure to order mild- for us we love spicy! We ordered spicy appetizers; Cut Mirichi and Guntur Mirapakodi. The Guntur Mirapakodi was the table’s favorite dish of the night! Just the right amount of heat! Loaded with tumeric. We loved it! I don’t think I’ve ever seen this dish at another restaurant. I will definitely be coming back for this. Delicious! For our main dishes we got Veg Chettinad, Gutti Vankaya Curry, Chicken Tikka Masala. Veg Chittinad was a mixed vegetable dish in a coconut milk curry. Gutti Vankaya Curry is sesame and peanut based paste with eggplant. It was nutty and savory. I’ve had this at other restaurants, but this was the best version I’ve had. You could taste the individual elements and as they came together to make a whole bite. Definitely recommend. Chicken Tikka Masala is always a crowd pleaser. We got this one mild, and it balanced out the heat from some of the other dishes. The chicken was incredibly tender, white meat chicken. Great dish! Of course Biryani & Co has several different types of biryani. We got the Vijayawada Special Boneless Chicken Biryani which was fantastic. Probably one of the best Biryanis I’ve had my entire life. Lots of fragrance in the dish and the meat was super tender. Lastly, we got the weekend special, Raju Gari Goat Pulav. In reading about the dish on the menu, I was worried it was going to be too similar to goat biryani, but it was totally different. Glad we got it because none of us had ever tried this anywhere else. Goat was perfectly cooked and the spice was perfect. Oh and the garlic naan was cooked to perfection! Super fresh and perfect for getting every last drop of curry or sauce off the plate. We even tried some dessert. A pineapple Double Ka Meetha. A little something sweet after all that spice was perfect. Truly a fantastic meal! We will 100% be going back. Hopefully VERY soon!
