Stopped in for Mother’s Day (made a reservation prior!) and was nearly immediately seated upon arriving… I say “nearly” because the two girls working as hostesses were too busy working on other things to greet guests as they walked in, even though they were standing at the hostess podium. They also said there would be a wait and so we sat at the bar and by the time someone greeted us at the bar (which was about 4 mins after we sat down), the hostess came over and told us our table was ready. The table was decent… service by the lady who takes orders was very rushed and impersonal, rather than friendly and inviting. But when the chef came over, he was spot on. His skills and ability to interact with the guests was great. The food was fresh and very tasty. Prices are decent, but could be better, considering how they seem to rush guests through dinner experiences to get as many turns as possible on each grill/table. We typically only consider these places for special dinners, such as a basic birthday with a group or Mother’s Day, etc. And they meet the need. But for really special dinners (anniversary, special bday, etc), stick with nicer restaurants. Or, if you want a place with a “set price” and full service and a nice, long dining experience, we prefer The Melting Pot (there’s one nearby).

Hy-Vee Wine & Spirits – Menu with Prices – 50312, 4100 University Ave, Des Moines

I love this store but their pharmacy? Not so much. Just today I had to stop at the pharmacy and pick up my mothers heart medication that she needed and the lady working there (very rudely I might add) asked me for my mothers insurance information. I told her my mother was on the phone and would be happy to give her whatever she needed but she very rudely told me that she couldn?t hear my mother and she rolls her eyes at me like she just didn?t want to help me. Not only was I

Kahn mongolian grill – Menu with Prices – 920 Pleasant Grove Blvd, Roseville

Very upset… I post a review for this restaurant a few hours ago, but since then, I have been very ill, hence the edit. I am trying to be fair to the restaurant; the style of self serve and cooking does have an obvious possibility of food born illness inherently… so going into it has always made me weary. Maybe all my positive experiences with Mongolian grill cooking has made me overly trusting, but I really was quite shocked to become sick from eating at a Mongolian grill restaurant. Evidently, for this food type to work, the grill has to be very hot(killing any germs) and this restaurant didn’t have it at a temperature needed to cook food fully. (I know this because the food took twice as long to cook as any other Mongolian bbq and wasn’t as done..) Also, alarmingly, the meat wasn’t frozen, it squishes with the tongs (It is cooked before consumption but it still seems a bit odd… and unsanitary to have it out long enough to defrost. Most places would fix that.) And I have a sneaking suspicion the minced garlic has been mixed with another oil because it had an odd taste, not what I wanted for my food. And possibly part of what made me hesitate to begin eating. I wish I had just listened to my gut and gone to Panera bread. I am very upset that the restaurant made me sick, and the two people I went with had similar experiences…. so I wouldn’t recommend eating here. I hope the owners fix these errors because I quite love Mongolian bbqs and the location and waitstaff all seem decent.

Prohibition Gastrohouse Midtown – Menu with Prices – 40 Eglinton Ave E, Toronto

Terrible experience all around. I showed up with a friend after work and when we tried to seat ourselves at a free table when the hostess made no attempt to assist we were rushed very rudely by another hostess outside on the patio. This hostess informed us that we had to be on a wait list and reserve the table at the front so we obliged and went back and politely asked for a table at the back from the hostess. Ironically she reserved the same table we tried to sit at but when we got there other people were already seated (without reserving). The hostess apologized and frantically found us another table on the patio. I was very upset and asked to speak to the manager about the hostess that denied us seating. When I pointed out the hostess she informed that that WAS the manager. I still asked to speak to her and this manager was not apologetic AT ALL and informed us that we need to follow the procedures and that we are still not on the wait list and that we cannot sit at our current table. Incredulous, my friend and I stormed back. Definitely would not recommend this place or ever come back. Ashley was the managerâ??s name. I would like to express my gratitude for the professional hostess who tried to initially help us and the one who listened to my grievances at the end and professionally addressed them (I believe her name was Katerina).

Citrus Club – Menu with Prices – 334 Meeting St 8th Floor, Charleston

Have to say I was kind of disappointed with my recent visit to the Citrus Club. Made a reservation in advance and requested to be seated outside. Showed up about 10 minutes ahead of time and was told that my options were to wait for an outside table or I could sit inside now. We chose to sit inside rather than wait. I want to point out here that a large part of this review has to do with the extremely rude hostess. She was practically irate that we were early, made us feel like we couldn’t leave the table she sat us at and she was very rude to guests of the hotel who came up with us! She told them that there were no available seats….once we were inside there were several empty tables and bar stools and more than half of the outside tables were empty (& most of them never filled up the hour + that we were there). They were eventually sat, but I don’t think that she handled the situation well-at all! In addition to this hostess, there was also a younger girl and guy working the hostess stand. Both of them seemed much more relaxed and friendly-we overheard them telling people they sat at the bar that they could walk around outside and feel free to sit if a table opened up….so someone did not get the memo to have such different guest interaction. Our server was very sweet and attentive. We ordered a couple of glasses of wine and a tiki cocktail. We did wander out onto the rooftop just to check it out-the views were nice!! You can valet for $6 and the valet team was so fast and very professional! Not sure that I would go out of my way to go back, which is sad because I was so looking forward to the Citrus Club opening!

Anchors Away – Menu with Prices – 518 E Capitol Ave, Springfield

My family tried to eat at this restaurant on Saturday night. There were 6 of us and when we arrived we were greeted by the hostess and told we could wait at the bar until a table became available. Reasonable, right? We expected a wait since they don’t take reservations. Some of us sat at the bar, which had only about 10 seats, of which about 7 were already taken. Others stood nearby. All of us were interested in drinks. The bartender was not particularly busy but completely ignored us. It was as if she was going out of her way to not even look at us. She instead chatted up the other patrons and servers. Not wanting to be rude, we didn’t make a show of interrupting her and asking if we could order drinks. After 20 minutes, we gave up and decided that if the customer service was that inattentive at the bar, we didn’t need to spend any money there at all. We told the hostess we no longer needed a table, complained about the bar experience and walked out. We won’t be back. There are too many other good restaurants in Springfield to waste our time there.

Ironwood Golf Club – Menu with Prices – 550 W Champagne Dr, Chandler

Just moved to South Chandler. The first time we ate at Ironwood Grill was on Tuesday poker night. The food was a great price and tasty. Four weeks later, craving a burger, we stopped by for a patty melt. Ordered with a side salad, perfect. The champagne dressing is good. Service was fast as we were the only dinners late Sunday afternoon. Highly recommend the Grill for casual food in a nice setting on the golf course.

Tachibana Japanese Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 785 Newtown Ct, Lexington

The sushi may be decent here but this restaurant is filthy and disgusting. So, we left the horse sale and decided to swing by and try Tachibana again. Three of our friends were already sitting at the grill. We decide to join them. I look up into the flu and notice that there are cobwebs above me and mention to my husband. So, I guess that is not that big of deal. I was literally sticking to the seat and the countertop so put my napkin down as a place mat so that I could actually use my chop sticks. The chef was pleasant and the food was fine. Not stellar.. fine. So the 5 of us are eating and out from under the grill (this is NOT a lie and I guarantee the squished remains of it from my shoe are still on the wall… the grill to the right hand side) runs a German cockroach. It runs in between the two people’s plates sitting next to me and scurries down the table and up on the wall. So, all of us live on horse farms and it takes more than this to really phase me so I tell the waiter who DID not believe me until I showed him the evidence on the wall. His response was ohhhh… So another waitress comes by to ask us if we need anything and I tell her what happened. She says to me, yes they live under the grill and when it gets hot they tend to run out!!! BUT, in order to get rid of them we would have to pull out the entire grill and that is not going to happen. Well, that shut me up. that will be the LAST time we ever go there. Sit at the table if you dare… UGH

Sunny sports bar and grill – Menu with Prices – 6330 Bardstown Rd, Louisville

Sunny’s is at the former location of Creeker Bar & Grill, Big Shots Bar & Grill, Michael E’s, and probably some other iterations. The last business there had gone out of business quite some time back, but I saw somewhere that there was a new establishment there and thought I would try it. When I entered, there were two women at a table who were the only people there. One of them might have been asleep with her head on the table. I didn’t know for an awkward but, I guess, short period of time if they worked there or if they were customers and the workers were in the back or something. When one of them got up and I realized she worked there, I asked if the kitchen was open. The two ladies went back and forth some with it being unclear for a bit if they were serving food or not. When they decided that the kitchen was open, I was told that I could order from the list on the chalkboard, and I ordered a burger. Something was just strange overall. They didn’t seem too happy that there was a customer, and this is one of the very few times I have been at a restaurant/bar where I felt like a real bother to the staff. The lady working the bar eventually warmed up a little bit and was friendly, but it seemed as if she wasn’t actually a bartender and wasn’t accustomed to the service industry. When I received my burger, it was a very thin frozen patty cooked with no flavor. It was the worst food I’ve had in quite a while. I also got two beers. When the cook brought out my food, she was in a full cell phone conversation, and was very into that, where normal etiquette would have the person asking if the customer needed anything else, etc. I WILL say that everything was very cheap, so at least there is that. I go out to eat way too much and have done a lot of Yelp reviews, but this was one of the strangest restaurant/bar experiences I have ever had. I have gone in places before where I felt like the restaurant was a “front” for something, but I didn’t get THAT feeling here. It was just awkward, and I got the vibe that they just wanted to be left alone. I don’t know if perhaps they were covering for a friend by running the place that night, or what was going on. If this is normal for this place, they will be out of business in the very near future, as this location has already proved to be a challenge even for establishments with much better execution and customer service in the past. Maybe I was missing something….I’m not sure, but very disappointing.

Kurt’s Euro Bistro – Menu with Prices – 3305 Peachtree Industrial Blvd #100, Duluth

Made reservations here for 7:00 PM dinner with my wife. Arrived promptly at 7 and was seated immediately at a table for 2 right nest to two other ‘table for 2’. Wife ordered sweet tea and I just had water. Was interesting they brought a ‘Peak’ Iced Tea in a bottle to the table; guess they don’t make iced tea themselves. We ordered a House Salad to share first; the endive was quite sour tasting or maybe bitter is a better description, but the dressing was a vinegar based and was very good. My wife ordered the Jagger Schnitzel and I ordered the Sauerbraten for a different meal. We had just finished our salad and another server brought our two dinners and placed it at our table. This was not the waitress that had taken the order. My wife started to eat hers but a few minutes later the regular waitress came, indicated that the dinners were for the table next to us and she promptly picked up my dinner that I hadn’t touched yet. My wife said she had already taken a bite of hers and indicated she wasn’t going to eat without my dinner being there too; so she hesitantly put my plate back down. I think the couple at the next table were just as shocked at what just happened as we were. What were the chances we both ordered the same dinners? And then to want to remove ours and give them to the next table? Have you been to waitressing school to know you don’t give someone else’s food to another? The food was good; we had recently eaten German food at two other places so this compared. Was a bit more expensive at this restaurant and prepared slightly differently. The Sauerbraten was very good. We finished most of what we had; my wife asked the waitress where the red cabbage was with her Jagger Schnitzel and the waitress indicated it did not come with red cabbage; which we found surprising. At $26 you think they would spare red cabbage on it too just like other German restaurants. We ordered an apple struetel to go and we ate it at home. This struetel was exceptional; the best we had of 3 different German restaurants.Overall a good dinner but a bit of a shock at the dinner mix-ups.

Brisas Del Caribe – Menu with Prices – 407 E King St, Lancaster

Food was really good. Authentic. Bacalao w rice and beans. My BF got PERNIL w rice and beans and maduros. Both of our dinners were yummy. Empanadas are a lil skimpy but tasted good. I’ve definitely had better. There was like a smal spoon of meat and the rest pastry. For all this food plus two soda cans, it was $22.50. Can’t beat that. Downfall: This is not a sit down and eat place. It’s very small and not that clean. There was one long table that was dirty. No bathroom. And the guy serving food wasn’t that friendly. I almost walked out as soon as I walked in, but I’m glad I didn’t. I wish I could give a 4 or 5 but I just can’t. Good experiences include friendly service. It can’t just be rated on just the food. If it was I would’ve given a 4.5.

Magnolia Kitchen & Bar – Menu with Prices – 1601 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington

I came here with a friend for happy hour and was very disappointed with the service and the way we were treated, thus I don’t recommend going to Magnolia Kitchen & Bar, and I certainly won’t be returning any time soon! We had ordered drinks at the bar, a little before happy hour was going to end. We decided that we also wanted to get food, but there weren’t any spots at the bar, so we went up to the hostess to see if any tables were available so we could be seated and order dinner. The waitress said that a table was available and we said we just had to close our tab out at the bar first and we’d be ready to be seated. We went back to the hostess and she led us over to our table. We literally were about to sit down at the table the hostess led us over to when a guy who works at the restaurant said we couldn’t sit there. Wait, what? The table the hostess at your restaurant led us to and we’re being seated at we can’t sit at? The restaurant worker said it was because we had purchased our drinks at the bar, so he’d be happy to seat us at the table after we finished our drinks. Well that made no sense, so I would have to chug down my drink I just ordered before I can sit at the table I was almost sitting at. It’s not as if I decided to seat myself at the table. We went up the hostess. She knew we had just ordered drinks and was seating us at a table. We had planned to order more drinks and dinner, but that didn’t seem to matter because this guy stated it was unfair to the servers to order a drink at the bar and then be seated at a table. Mind you, this rationale doesn’t take into account the people who decide not to order drinks at all or the fact that the hostess knew we had just ordered drinks and was going to seat us. Furthermore, most restaurants encourage you to go to the bar and get a drink while you’re waiting for your table and I’ve never seen a restaurant not let you bring your drink from the bar to your table or state you have to finish your drink before they’ll seat you. (Also, the difference between the happy hour bar prices and the menu was only like $2). He said he didn’t want to set a precedent that if you ordered your drink at the bar, you could bring it with you to your table. Also, this doesn’t even seem to be a consistent policy among the staff because we literally were being seated at our table by the hostess, no less, when this guy (I don’t know whether he was another host or a manager or what exactly his position was) comes out of nowhere and says we can’t be seated yet until we finish our drinks first. He then proceeded to rudely lecture us. Mind you, it’s not as if we sat at a random open table. We had been lead to the table BY THE HOSTESS! No apology, just more lecturing. Fine, we’ll finish our drinks and go get dinner somewhere else. So then we stand off to the side by the bar to finish our drinks where the guy then proceeds to bump my friend during the multiple times he walked by because there wasn’t enough room to stand near the bar, which is part of the reason why we decided to get a table to order dinner. I can’t comment on the food here because after we never even got to order or try it. (We realized we were a short walk from Lauriol Plaza, so we had a great dinner and service there instead!) So just to prove his point, instead the rude service lost us as customers. He even had the nerve to say at the end of all of this that if he had let us sit there this time, we’d then come back with friends next time and say well we had been seated last time. It was a little presumptuous to think we’d be returning after being so rudely lectured and talked down to. I definitely won’t be going back there anytime soon and I encourage you to avoid this restaurant too until they have some training in basic courtesy and customer service! If the hostess didn’t understand the restaurant&

Lion Exterior Products – Menu with Prices – 541 E Main St, Ontario

If you need a grill Lion Premium Grills is the one for you. Let me tell you why. You will receive more than a grill because Lion is concerned about your satisfaction. I purchased a Lion built in for a new house and when is was installed the Rotisserie kit was missing. Believe the installers discarded it during installation. Not to worry I called Lion in Ontario California and talked with Jose. He was understanding and sent a replacement. Now my grill is complete and I must say working like a charm. My Rotisserie Chickens are really good. So are other meats and vegetables grilled. You won’t go wrong with a Lion Premium Grill. Thanks Lion Jim Zimmerman
