We stumbled upon Rudy’s accidentally, but I am sooooo glad we did. The decor is 100% Texas BBQ with picnic tables for seating. To order, you go through a line and they’ve got giant containers of bottled and canned beer, soda, and lemonade filled with ice. The employees were super friendly, asking if we had ever been to a Rudy’s before and since we hadn’t we got to sample many of their menu items. The samples really made making a decision tough as everything was just so darn good! I ended up going with the pulled pork and it was the best pulled pork I’ve ever had. We also got beans as a side and they too were delicious. The prices cannot be beat either. For a sizeable sandwich, it was only $5.99. You can get more meat, but it will cost more based how much you get. I’ve never seen a Rudy’s in Tucson, but I really wish one would open up near us, because it’s the perfect place to go when you’re craving BBQ.

Homestyle BBQ – Menu with Prices – 1701 N Fort Harrison Ave, Clearwater

My quest for good Bbq in the Clearwater area has finally ended thanks to Homestyle Barbecue! The hospitality here is outstanding, the food is delicious, and it beats driving all the way to St. Petersburg for a rib dinner. What more can I ask for? I’ve tried numerous Bbq spots in Clearwater in hopes of finding the perfect pulled pork sandwich or tender ribs but none compare to Homestyle Barbecue. On my first visit to Homestyle Bbq the owner went above and beyond when it came to customer service by offering my friend and I samples of the pulled pork, ribs, and baked beans. We both ended up ordering the combo platter since we could not decide on which meat to choose with a side of Mac and cheese. The food was fresh and delicious beyond our expectations. If I could, I would give this review six stars solely based off of how well we were treated after telling the owner it was our first time trying their food!

Archers BBQ – Menu with Prices – 4885 N Broadway St, Knoxville

Had heard good things about archers but mostly for their pulled pork, people had said you could find much better ribs but I decided to give the ribs a try as I already have a pulled pork place love. They tasted great and the sauce selection was wonderful, however I was unimpressed by the ribs. The full rack was tender towards the outer edges but tough in the center, and the skin over the rack was very thick and super tough, it pulled off in a single sheet which made the ribs better but I’ve never seen such thick, tough skin on ribs. I’m no smoking expert but it seems like the ribs I got were cooked too quickly with too much heat. Was hoping for a better experience as archers is the closest place to get bbq near my house. Maybe I got a bad batch but I will not be returning and will not be recommending the ribs to anyone.

Southern Pig & Cattle – Menu with Prices – 6105 SW State Rd 200, Ocala

I should’ve heeded the other reviews! Anywhere that serves pulled pork bbq with the sauce mixed in is clearly hiding something. Might as well have bought a can of dinty moore, it might’ve been better. Traveling all day I needed a bite and drove throughout Ocala looking for something that spoke to me. I was hoping for a good plate of que and a glass of sweet tea. The tea was great so theres that. I ordered a combo plate w pulled pork and chicken (assuming pulled chicken for a sandwich but nope – just a hunk of really dried out chicken. The baked beans were ok but I don’t care for sugar in my food, they had lots of it and was hoping for more of a tang or bite to the baked beans but again no. I should’ve just stuck with the ole faithful Chick-fil-a, lesson learned. I will say the cashier at the take out counter was very pleasant and thoughtful.

Old Gold Barbecue – Menu with Prices – 140 S College Ave, Indianapolis

This delicious-smelling food truck is now open 5 days a week (Wednesday-Sunday)! I work close by and have been dying to try it! For lunch today, I ordered the pulled pork plus the potato salad for my side. I LOVED the pulled pork…so juicy, tender, and slightly smokey, and the sauce was tasty too! Honestly, it didn’t even need the sauce since it had such great flavor on its own. I probably won’t get the potato salad again, because it seemed a little dry and like it was missing something…I couldn’t pinpoint exactly what would have made it stand up better to the amazing pork, but not my favorite potato salad. Next time, I’ll definitely be getting the pulled pork and/or the brisket (a lot of customers seemed to choose that), the mac and cheese, and the street corn. The prices seemed a little high, but you can tell that they really take their time to make delectable eats for their customers. For that reason, I never mind paying a little extra. I will definitely be back soon! Plus, they are in Metazoa’s parking lot so it is easy to grab a beer too.

Smokin Bones BBQ Menu with Prices 3003 E Abram St, Arlington

Absolutely terrible service! When I went in they were out of everything except pulled pork and sausage (this was at 4 PM and they are open until 10 pm). So I ordered the pulled pork plate. Now there were also 5 people that had placed their order before I got there and waiting for their orders in front of me, I thought not an unreasonable number.  The kitchen has to be one of the slowest I’ve ever seen. It took over 40 minutes just to get my order ready.  Also the place is pretty run down looking witch I’m actually ok with but just a heads up. The food itself was just ok at best. Cole slaw had to much sauce and green beans were surely from a can. Pulled pork was mediocre. I have no idea how this place had such a high Yelp rating.  Definitely recommend going somewhere else.

Eat It All BBQ, LLC Menu with Prices 3342 Deans Bridge Rd #4222, Augusta

This place probably has its moments, but our visit wasn’t one of them. When we were there (around 1:30pm.,) there was only one person working – the owner. This made for extremely slow service. Mr Monroe had to do everything. He manned the pit, took the orders and served them up, and ran the cash register. I was going to have pulled pork, but he gave me a sample of his ribs and changed my mind. The ribs I had weren’t like his sample. (I don’t think it was intentional) They were dry and over cooked. My wife’s pulled pork sandwich was downright boring. On the other hand, the potato salad, baked beans, and barbecue sauce were excellent. Will I be back? Probably not. We were just passing through.

Soulman’s Bar-B-Que – Menu with Prices – 3410 Broadway Blvd, Garland

Better than other Soulman’s BBQ locations. Food: They surprisingly let me order the kid’s plate which consists of one protein and one side. I got the pulled pork, green beans, and an additional side of creamed corn. The pulled pork is the slightest bit dry but nothing BBQ sauce can’t fix. Green beans were a little too salty and mushy for my taste, however, the creamed corn is absolutely amazing – there’s a great balance of sweet and the tiniest bit of spicy. I tried a chunk of my boyfriend’s portion of mac & cheese, but it wasn’t anything to die for; slightly bland. Environment: Honestly, I’m not the biggest fan of the actual restaurant location since there’s a lot of construction that needs to be done around this area. Also, this Soulman’s BBQ is not remodeled like the Allen location, but it gave off the Hollywood Texan country barn vibe, yknow what I mean? Service: Nothing too out of the ordinary. Not excellent, not poor.

Tim Hortons – Menu with Prices – 9710 132 Ave NW, Edmonton

This location has one of the most awkward parking lots known to man and just forget about it during rush hour if you’re on the wrong side of the road! Otherwise, it’s a standard Tim’s. The hubs and I popped by last night to try the new pulled pork sandwich on the way to Rexall BUT they didn’t have any because the pulled pork wasn’t “thawed” yet… Ewww… I wish they had just said they were out. It seems Tim Horton’s doesn’t make anything anymore on site ? Gone are the good ol’ days of donuts and breads made on site. And now meat comes frozen.

Knickerbockers Deli – Menu with Prices – 421 Wakara Way #200, Salt Lake City

This used to be a good place to get a sandwitch for lunch, but today my wife and I got 2 sorry excuses for sandwiches. My sandwich was the godfatha, and it is supposed to have pastrami, but only came with ham and other deli meats (with the plasticy casing still on that I had to pick out of my teeth and sandwich) and zero pastrami. My wife ordered a pulled pork sanwich and was given some crapy vegan pesto sandwich with zero pulled pork. The location is also vey difficult to get to when you have a car to park. Save yourself the trouble and go to Caputo’s deli and get a real quality sandwich with quality ingredients. I will not be going back to knickerbockers…

K & J Rib Shack – Menu with Prices – 4255 S Court St, Montgomery

I don’t understand how this place is the #1 BBQ place in Montgomery. My buddy was in from Utah and wanted BBQ, so we got on Yelp to find the best place. According to other people, K&J is fantastic, which is the exact opposite of what we experienced last night. First off, I am not hard to please. My only expectation is that when I pay you for a meal I want it to taste better than if I prepared it myself. If it’s not even as good as I can make for 1/5th of the cost, then I don’t want it. From the time we walked in to the time we got our food was 55 minutes. Yes. Seriously. 55 minutes. It really wasn’t that busy and it isn’t that big of a place. I figured the food must be really good because it took so long to prepare. It took so long, in fact, that they gave people their food one at a time. There were two other tables while we were there and people would be finished eating before everyone at their table even got their food. Now. The food itself. I got a pulled pork sandwich and mac’n’cheese. My buddy got ribs, a pulled pork sandwich, okra, and mac’n’cheese. Friends, I’m not exaggerating when I tell you it was straight up one of the worst BBQ meals I’ve ever had. The pork was incredibly tough and the mac’n’cheese tasted as if it had been sitting out for a while. And by “a while” I mean three days. It was stale and bland. My buddy gave me a rib and it was tough and flavorless. He agreed with my assessment of the pork and mac’n’cheese. He said the only part of his meal that was decent was the okra. The only thing I invested at K&J that’s was worth anything was their sauce. These folks at least make a good BBQ sauce. To put it in perspective, I’ve been in the Army for fifteen years. I’ve eaten some really terrible food in some really terrible places. With that said, given the choice between K&J and an MRE, I’d take an MRE. Think about that for a moment. That’s how terrible K&J was last night. It’s possible they were having an off night, though I’ll never know because I won’t be going back.

Texas Beef & Cattle Company – Menu with Prices – 1101 W Third St, Dayton

Finally got to try this place as I was in the area. Lunchtime on this Saturday was packed with two biker groups who stopped in during their ride. The restaurant wasn’t quite ready for these boisterous but fun guys and were doing their best to keep up with orders. I had time to wait so talked to a couple of them that had finished. They loved all the meat they tried (brisket, pulled pork and jalapeno sausage — said it was moist and tasty), enjoyed the Borracho beans (good hunks of brisket and onions), but warned to stay away from the cornbread — said it was “dry crap). I order a sampler to go — pulled pork, regular sausage, and burnt ends instead of the sliced brisket. All very tasty but I think in all the rush they (and myself) forgot to ask for BBQ sauce. The beans were truly delicious, pulled pork a little dry, sausage was pretty good and moist, and burnt ends pretty tasty but have had better. It’s almost like they took a shortcut and just trimmed them off but didn’t soak and cook some more. We’d like to come back and try the Huge beef ribs. Worth another visit.

Sloppy Mama’s BBQ Menu with Prices 5731 Lee Hwy, Arlington

I’m a BBQ fan (lived in the pork BBQ capital of America, Memphis, for 6 years) and I LOVE THIS PLACE! First of all just like many places in Memphis you can see the smokers outside in the parking lot where the smell of the meat smoking meets you before you even go inside. This is a great way to get people to start salivating for the barbecue they can order inside. We came for the first time tonight and ordered some brisket and pork and mac and cheese baked beans and cornbread as sides. While I’m not from Texas I do enjoy a good moist and wet brisket and this was among some of the best that I’ve had in the DC area. I would say that it is equivalent for better to Jack’s also in Arlington. The brisket was moist and if you wanted to get a fatty piece you could. The pulled pork was also very good. It was moist and had a delicious smoke to it. They do take the pulled pork and chop it for you before putting it on your tray. I actually prefer pulled pork 2 chopped pork so next time I will ask them not to chop it. For the sides the beans were delicious and the cornbread some of the best that I’ve ever had. Seriously I could go and just eat the cornbread alone. My wife had the mac and cheese and she also enjoyed it. They also have a good selection of barbecue sauces that come in a dispenser that looks like it could be dispensing ice tea. They have the following types of barbecue sauce. Georgia gold, Alabama white, Diablo, North Carolina vinegar, in Kansas City sweet. I have never had the Alabama white before and that was delicious. All the other sauces also Ware delicious and worth trying each one. I’m so glad that this place opened in North Arlington and will definitely be back to sample some additional meats and sides!
