FYI, I’m not a pro. I’m a normal guy who loves to eat. I started yelping so I could help others find delicious places to eat. So, I don’t feel like writing a long extravagant review on this place. This review will be just like the restaurant itself……. Unimpressive. What can you expect from a place who has food staying warm under heat lamps. The reason why I stopped here was because the free samples given out were hot and I was really hungry. They also had a deal where you can order a one entree meal at regular price and get the second meal for $2.99. I’m sorry to say though the deal was very intriguing, the food was not. The lemon pepper chicken was very disappointing. It came out somewhat cold and the texture felt a little rubbery. Seemed like it was sitting out a while. The spicy beef was very delicious. It wasn’t hot, but it was warm. The jalapeños and spice was not too hot. Just enough kick. The mango chicken (pretty much orange chicken) was delicious. I really enjoyed that. The noodles and steamed rice were average. Nothing too special. I think Panda Express’ food is better. Overall, this place is average. If you’re hungry and want something fast, it’s not a bad deal. The price was pleasing, but I would prefer to spend a few more dollars for something my taste buds can appreciate.

Ya Ya’s Flame Broiled Chicken – Menu with Prices – 3011 E Saginaw St, Lansing

Updated 4/20/19: While my folks were in town helping around the house last week, my boyfriend and I treated them to YaYa’s for a quick dinner. The service was fast and we were in and out with our order in about 5-6 minutes. We ordered a 12 piece family meal with baked beans, Mac and cheese, and cole slaw for sides. We tried half of the chicken spicy, which was a Cajun/cayenne type dry seasoning that they sprinkled on top, and the other half original. The spicy chicken did have a little kick to it, and was about a medium heat. The original was savory and my mom thought it tasted like it had a Greek flare to it. The sides we ordered were still just average. Overall for the price, we were pleased with the order and experience. —— I decided to give YaYa’s another try since my last review. My only critique last time was that the sides needed some work. Today I got the cole slaw and roasted corn and peppers with a three piece chicken dinner and I enjoyed it all. The chicken was warm and tender, and the sides weren’t bad either. The pita bread was good but I should have eaten that first when it was warm. I still found this experience to be average for the price, but I will keep them in mind for more frequent visits so I can try other menu items. They did have wraps and shredded chicken combs that sounded appetizing

Lychee Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 23450 N 19th Ave, Phoenix

This review is based off of my main dish. I ordered the spicy tuna roll. Which is difficult to mess up. Its spicy so theres a kick present. But its ever so slight. I had to amp it by adding wasabi to each bite. I ordered the General Tsos Chicken. Which on the menu has an indicator letting you know its spicy. It wasnt. It tasting literally like maple syrup. There was no spice present. There wasnt even a smokey flavor. It was just sweet. I couldnt eat another bite without an adjustment made. So i asked for a side of chili oil. Even their chili oil had literally no spice to it. And i used the entire portion of chili oil they provided me with. Probably because its very old or just poorly made. It didnt even make my chicken any better. I picked at the veggies at the plate, requested my check and left. The service was prompt, courteous and friendly. But I guess I feel that I dont go to a resturant for service necessarily but instead i go for the food. But thats just me. I dont believe I will be going back unless its for their Thai Iced Tea. Which I hate to say it was the only tasty thing I ordered. Disappointing considering its a new spot. But Im hoping they make adjustments to their menu otherwise they may not last. Especially since Panda Express is just up the street with better flavors.

Backoos Korean To Go Food – Menu with Prices – 1358 Birmingham St, Halifax

Big disappointment. Maybe I should’ve ordered their signature fried chicken instead, but I wasn’t that hungry for a whole bunch of fried chicken legs. After reading all the positive reviews of this up and coming new Korean eatery, I finally got to try it today. I ordered a small deep-fried Boneless chicken with tater tots & the Beef Bibimbap. Given the time the fried to order boneless chicken left the kitchen to the time they actually reached my mouth was only about 3 minutes, I have to say the chicken pieces were surprisingly soggy. I don’t get it. Maybe too much red chili paste so they got soft too quickly? The chicken had a very strong garlic taste and I usually love garlic. I was also disappointed at the lack of “bam!” from the Korean chili red paste that was coated all over the chicken. I expected at least a kick on my tongue. Nope. I then put my hope in the Bibimbap. Sorry to report, the $5.65 price tag + sunny side up egg + nicely seasoned green veggie were the only redeeming features. The rice, which is supposed to be the basics to any Korean rice dish, and what I was eagerly anticipating, failed to impress. The rice tasted hard, not like cold hard, but warm hard. The meat, well, it was not slices of beef, which is what an usual Bibimbap would serve, this was just ground beef. I understand I shouldn’t expect too much from a dish under $6, but ground beef? I’d still give their signature fried chicken a try. I wonder if I could order “spicy” to be at a higher level than what I had tasted today.

TRIPLET BLUE STORE II Menu with Prices 2321 Highland Rd, Baton Rouge

This is a store that sells a mixture of Asian food and fried chicken. The best thing about this store is it’s prices. You can get a decent meal for a few dollars. The main dish that I get is the chicken wings. You can get 25 wings for $19.99. It’s not a bad deal, and the wings are always big and always good. The Asian food sounds good as well. When I went, I had to wait approximately 45 minutes to be served and to pay for my food. I was in the drive-thru, too. This was a really long time. Therefore, I had to take away one star. There was only a few workers at this store and both the in-store and the drive-thru lines were filled. Since I was strict about this before, I have to maintain my strictness during my reviews. The food is great though. I got a very delicious meal which is pretty worth it. The chicken was well seasoned with a kick of spice to it. The taste of the chicken just makes you want more. I think it’s the grease or something that makes you want more. My friends have a funny nickname for it that accurately represents the feeling of it.

Street Asian Food – Menu with Prices – 516 Elmwood Ave, Buffalo

I can’t lie… I’ve been very hesitant to try Street Asian Food because of their menu prices. I literally live right around the corner and you’d think naturally this would be a place I frequent, being that I eat out as much as I do. About 15 minutes ago I was persuaded by my roommate to finally try them. I grew so tired of thinking of places to get food from that I took her advice and ordered the Pad See Ew with beef. Again, still couldn’t get over the price (almost $17!) but I am sitting here eating it and honestly loving it. I’ve never even had Pad See Ew so I really have nothing to compare this dish to, however I am certainly impressed and will now order this elsewhere. I am still disappointed at the price. The portion I am given, and see through other photos is certainly something to consider. I am very hungry and I could probably eat more than what I have. I really would’ve given them 3 starts but the dish does taste amazing and I don’t want to take away from that. Street Asian Food: You’ve certainly got something going here, but your portion size to price ratio is lacking. I’d love to see this as an area they’d improve on, I truly believe a lot less people would be hesitant if their prices were lowered. I too understand being a small business and having room for profit, but there are several places on Elmwood and the surrounding area I could eat at otherwise (while dining in) and pay the same price. I will say after trying Pad See Ew at several other popular and top rated Thai restaurants within the last week (don’t judge- I’ve been on a Thai kick) I refute my own self. Street Asian Food’s was the most flavorful and delicious of them all. I do still think they should lower their prices but honestly the entree was so delicious that I can’t say it’s not worth it. Maybe that means you should just serve larger portions ?

Franks Bar and Grill – Menu with Prices – 728 Copeland St Floor 2, Pittsburgh

This was one of my worst food experiences ever. We came in and nobody was in there, which now makes sense. The place looked a bit disheveled and dirty, which is weird since they opened not too long ago. We sat down and didn’t have any service for about ten to fifteen minutes. When the person came over he asked for our orders and rolled his eyes when we asked to see a menu. All of this not a big deal because it is a bar. The reason why I write this review is because we watched our food sit at the bar for about fifteen to twenty minutes while everybody ignored it. There was literally no one there…… The girl then noticed it and we proceeded to watch her go through the trash with the other guy. She then proceeds to bring my partner’s food, which is now disgusting and cold and tells me they made my food wrong. She then leaves and doesn’t have any silverware for my partner to eat her meal, which is fine because it is cold already. I see her then do a few laps as she is avoiding eye contact, which I get because she is now stressed out but again still no silverware. She then drops my food off and we ask for silverware. My food was now too disgusting and cold. We just paid our tab and left feeling just as hungry as we had when we came in. Look I get it. Sometimes the kitchen sucks or you’re having an off night, but take some accountability when you leave food sitting on a bar for twenty minutes. There are so many yummy places in this part of town that I sadly know time will weed this place out.

James burger Menu with Prices 1431 James Rd, Bakersfield

We were driving by and saw this newish Burger Place and took a chance. I ordered the Bacon Burger Combo and my husband had the Jalapeño Burger Combo. It was about $13 bucks a piece. But definitely worthy of the price! It was not your average frozen patty…it was a juicy restaurant quality burger. The bun was Brioche…I think? It was soft and delicious. The bacon was crispy and my husband’s jalapeños were fresh and grilled! So 5 stars for this burger joint! Only suggestion is, turn down the air. It was a little warm inside and its a HOT day and a little cluttered…but we will definitely be back!

Thirsty Dilla – Menu with Prices – 6301 82nd St suite 101, Lubbock

We had dinner here tonight, it was great. Husband had a custom quesadilla with ground beef, grilled onions, corn, black beans and jalapeños. It was awesome – the jalapeños were pretty spicy. I had the Chicken Florentine as a salad. It was so good; I was worried the chicken would be dry or overcooked, but not the case. Yummy and filling. We also had the elote corn, also quite tasty. Lastly, we had a kids meal, which was a cheese quesadilla with fries. Who would ever expect to have the best fries at a quesadilla place, but we loved them! They are steak fry like, but thinner. The kids demanded more so we also got an order to go. Definitely will be back

Cuzcatlan Restaurant Menu with Prices 1330 S Magnolia Ave, Anaheim

Pupusas here were really yummy and filling. We ordered the 3 pupusa and drink combo- tried the cheese and beans, cheese and spinach, and cheese with squash and they were all delicious. The sizes of them are larger than the average. I believe two with a sufficient amount of the pickled cabbage is efficient to quench a hungry person’s appetite. Unfortunately they don’t serve tamales until the nighttime which I intended on getting. I ended up having to change my review because upon paying for the lunch she ended up adding fees to the combo.. apparently the vegetarian combo is $.50 extra for EACH pupusa and then the price for the plantains plate went from $5.50 to $6.99 which was misleading because both signs had different prices… I feel like she hustled us by having us pay after our meal rather than before. $40 meal for two people was a bit much for the amount of food we got.. I won’t be going back here.

Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken – Menu with Prices – 509 S Glenoaks Blvd, Burbank

I am a big fan of Fried Chicken, so when I heard about this hot and spicy fried chicken, I had to have it. I was reading all the reviews about Gus’ and was hoping that it would live up to the hype. I must say the reviews are right, Gus’ is excellent fried chicken!! The only thing I was a little disappointed with were the Collard Greens, expected a lot more flavor from a Restaurant that’s roots are from the South. But still overall highly recommended based on what we got below. We started with an order of Fried Pickles, then we got two 3 piece dark meals with the standard Cole Slaw and Baked Beans, Sweet Tea and an Unsweetened Tea. The Sweet Tea tastes almost like I remember living in North Carolina, very sweet and delicious. We also got 2 kids meals with Chicken Legs and Fries. The kids meal includes a drink as well, they for Lemonade, very sweet. Also gave the Collard Greens a shot. The Fried Pickles were very good, great flavor, a bit on the expensive side, $6 for 6 small pieces. CAUTION: These are extremely hot (heat wise) be careful not to burn your mouth. The chicken is so flavorful, perfect amount of spice, gives you a little kick of spice, but not over powering. It is very juicy, not greasy at all, lightly breaded, some of the best Fried Chicken I have had for a long time. The sides were also very good, Fries were very tasty and the Baked Beans and Cole Slaw were excellent. I updated my review up to 5-Stars, this is the best chicken! Even though it is on the expensive side, the chicken out weighs the cost. I had knocked it down previously to 4 stars due to the price. I still feel it is on the expensive side. 4 of us for lunch, (2 kids, 2 adults) $89.00, W/tax and tip. I will definitely be going back soon though. Enjoy!

Dragon Express / Pho Vietnam Express – Menu with Prices – 678 E St, Chula Vista

I was looking for pho in the area and came across this place. The reviews all seem so great so I decided to give it a try. All everyone sayd about this place is that its in a run down ghetto place. Thats definitely not the case. I ordered orange chicken, shrimp fried rice, y eggrolls, and large pho. My total came out to $35 a bit more than what i usually pay at my regular pho place. It was good but it wasnt the best like everyone says. Rice kinda tasted like it had been cooked since the morning and just sitting under heat. Orange chicken was ehh. The egg rolls where good. The pho was a big portion but it wasnt all that tasty it was missing lots of flavor. I was extremely disappointed since I was sick and pho was the only thing I was craving. I dont think i will be giving this place a second chance. I’ll most likely stick to my original pho place even if its a bit further.

Don Arturo?s Cocina y Cantina – Menu with Prices – 3315 N President George Bush Hwy #100, Garland

The chips are good…the salsa has a serious kick but we thought it would be better warm. It is also a very thin salsa. I had the mixed fajitas (I ordered chicken but he sold me on the mixed). I don’t know that I’d get them again. The chicken was just okay…the beef had good flavor but was a little chewy for my taste. They came out with cilantro on top, a lot. I tried to scrape some of it off. The grilled tomatoes were a no-go. The rice was okay. He had the sopes….one picadillo and one shredded beef. They gave him a pastor one by accident. The shredded beef was his favorite – tender with decent flavor. Second fave was the pastor – also tender. The picadillo was last, just the flavor didn’t do it for him. Black beans and refried beans were enjoyed. The guacamole on top is a thinner guacamole, not very chunky. We asked if they had any other salsa because my mouth was fire – and they had a milder and spicier one. The mild was strange, we didn’t like it. The spicier was a kick in the rear…too much for me, even with a slight dip. We’d probably go back if we were in the area and wanted Mexican…but I would let spend $16.99 on those fajitas again.
