I recently discovered Rock N Sushi. it is a hidden treasure in Gateway! I live about 30 minutes away & have been coming to them for about a month now. They have a happy hour menu from 4-6pm Monday-Friday (I posted a picture of the menu). I like this place so much that I have started a list of sushi rolls that I have tried, and every time I go back I try a new roll until I have tried their entire menu. I’m doing that mainly because I have been to Blu Sushi so many times before that this place is just so unique with all sorts of different sushi roll options that I have never tried before. I highly recommend them and have referred tons of friends! They have a huge sushi menu (see photos) & a big menu for other food (I just go for sushi). I normally sit at the sushi bar and chat with the sushi chefs. Honestly, I have not had a bad experience so far & I am looking forward for many more visits (gotta complete my list!)

Fuji Sushi House – Menu with Prices – 4416 Johnston St, Lafayette

Me and my wife absolutely loved this place! I will be honest, when we arrived there, we weren’t too sure about it but take it from me this place is worth every dollar. Me and my wife really enjoy sushi and have had it at most restaurants from Lafayette to Baton Rouge and this place rocks. The owner was extremely nice and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a good sushi fix. It was probably some of the most fresh tasting sushi that I have ever had. The menu is huge and includes pages of sushi options and the owner even made it a point to mention to us that they are flexible with the ingredients to each roll so basically your options are limitless! Will absolutely be back again with friends and family. GIVE THEM A TRY! YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED

Sushi 2 You – Menu with Prices – 2640 52 St NE, Calgary

This is a hidden gem for all Sushi lovers. A gourmet restaurant quality sushi for a fraction of the price you pay at high end restaurants. Cheaper and way tastier then Edo Japan. I come here for lunch all the time as a student an on a budget. I highly recommend asking for the mango roll or house special roll and you will be surprise for the price you pay, it tastes like restaurant sushi.

Fuji Sushi Upper King – Menu with Prices – 585 King St, Charleston

Let me start off by saying Fuji Sushi Upper King has some of the best sushi I’ve tried in my life. When I first had their spicy tuna roll, I wasn’t prepared with how soft and melt in your mouth the fish would be. I appreciate how they add avocado in the roll, which pairs perfectly with the tuna. I’ve tried almost all of their rolls, and I’ve never had a dud! Trust me when I say it’s all good. I’ve come here multiple times either on a date night or with a group of friends. Such a perfect place to share sushi rolls with people. The prices are great! Just another reason why I feel so comfortable coming back here time after time again. It’s so fun getting their boats full of different fresh fish. Definitely recommend you get if you’re with a group who aren’t afraid to try new foods. For my friends who aren’t huge fish eaters, there’s also a bunch of other food options for example, hibachi plates, poke bowls, or bao’s. There’s something here for everyone. Lastly, they have rooftop seating which is perfect throughout the entire year. It’s so beautiful up there with the soft breeze. Can’t wait to go back!

Lin’s Asian Express – Menu with Prices – 520 N First Ave, Evansville

This was my first time at Lin’s and I will definitely return. We decided to have Sushi and it was Fantastic. Sushi is relatively expensive most places, but here it’s more reasonable. The Evansville Roll in particular was AMAZING! the selection is a little more limited than other sushi restaurants, but they also have hibachi, and other entree options. Overall our experience was really good, and at the end they bring out your receipt with these little candies that I really love. I mentioned casually to my group that I loved these candies and the server comes back with a handful of them. It was really sweet and completely unexpected, but she made my day. Highly recommend!

Sushi On Chapel – Menu with Prices – 1022 Chapel St # C, New Haven

This spot was okay to me. It was VERY difficult to find since Yelp/Google’s walking GPS took me past it a bunch of times on two different streets. Turns out, this place is basically underground. It’s a bit dark and grungy, but it did mean that it was pretty warm for the cold day outside. I was thrown back by the prices. A sweet potato tempura roll, at every other place I’ve been to, has been under $6. Usually between $4-5.50, here it’s $8. Then the “special rolls” are $10-15, which to me is outrageous seeing as though this isn’t gourmet sushi. For the price, I was disappointed with atmosphere. I had seen a couple photos on Yelp, one with scallops specifically and I came here for that one roll, turns out “they changed their menu last week” and didn’t have the rolls I wanted. Bummer. I choose two other rolls, the Sweet Potato Tempura and the Crazy Roll. The purple rice was different, especially since I didn’t ask for it. I feel that should be an option, not a standard. Still, it was good sushi and had a unique taste. I don’t think I’d come back because of price, but it definitely has a unique taste down to their eel sauce. If you’re willing to pay extra for that, this may be the place for you.

Chopstick Japan – Menu with Prices – 2801 Wilma Rudolph Blvd #8006, Clarksville

We often eat here every time we come to the mall. They are always handing out Chick Teriyaki samplers on a toothpick. They cook the Teriyaki and prepare sushi both in front of you. They give you a huge portion of Chicken Teriyaki and it is really good- it seems it lacks something, but I think that is because I cook with a lot of seasonings at home. I can’t eat it all so I eat the other half later. It is what we usually get and is only $5.99, but I do order their sushi and I like it, although I am no sushi expert (I’ve only tried sushi at two places so far). There are 35 choices. There are 7 sushi roll options, 6 Teriyaki options(3 meats), miso soup, tempuras, salads, specialty rolls, and drinks. Of course I’ll go back.. I always do. I took off only one star because as far as my palate is concerned, I would prefer if he didn’t sear the meat so much, but that is only preference, I think. They are also nice people. A man and a woman.

Sapporo Sushi – Menu with Prices – 8911 Garden Grove Blvd, Garden Grove

This place is out of my way and honestly one of the more expensive sushi places on my list, but it always hit the spot after a final. I remember coming here more often than it’s neighbors throughout college and the sushi is A1. If I remember correctly, I had my first nigiri here as well, so I blame them for my sushi addiction lol. But yeah, if you’re a college student looking for somewhere nice to eat I highly recommend.

Sushi Express – Menu with Prices – 610 University Ave, Madison

As always, Sushi Express is exactly what it claims to be-affordable sushi that is still delicious! You really can’t beat Sushi Express’ prices at $8.75 for two rolls. Although I’ve tried almost every roll there is to offer under this combo, I’d have to say my favorites are the spicy California, shrimp tempura, sweet potato tempura, and the Alaska roll. Their rolls are consistently good and fresh at a truly unbeatable price (and only $1 with no minimum for delivery!) I wouldn’t go as far to say that their sushi is gourmet or as good as, say, Red, but this place manages to offer bargain sushi that is still solid and won’t give you food poisoning. I’d also recommend the roll-combos as opposed to the specialty rolls, which are slightly less good. Sushi can occasionally arrive at room temperature but that hasn’t been a deal breaker. I’ve never been let down by Sushi Express in all 4 years of being a loyal customer. Would recommend their crab Rangoon as well-seriously the best I’ve ever had!

Hana Yori Sushi & Grill – Menu with Prices – 12226 Beach Blvd Unit#3, Jacksonville

Last night I had the pleasure of trying Hana Yori Sushi and Grill. I’m not a huge sushi fan, but my friend suggested I try them out. We were seated close to the sushi bar. Our server was very friendly and attentive. She was also a big help with my sushi order as I’m very picky lol. The only raw sushi I will eat is smoked salmon. All the others are too strong and fishy smelling to me. The smoked salmon was superb! Although I’m not a huge fan of the seaweed wrap but I still enjoyed it. I also had the onion soup and salad with ginger dressing. I do not like ginger, however I make an exception as the combination of ginger and I think some type of citrus is perfect! I didn’t realize when I ordered my sushi they had some cooked sushi options on the menu. I tried my friends fried sushi and it was great! I also tasted the steak he ordered for his daughter and it was cooked so nicely that it was like butter melting in my mouth. If you like sushi or hibachi style cooking this is the spot for you!

Sushi Yama Japanese Restaurant Menu with Prices 7731 Perkins Rd #120, Baton Rouge

Sushi Yama was highly recommended to me by a friend, so we came here for a date night and found that it has great sushi and great service! We had the little rice roll which came with its own unique sauce (had a strong truffle flavor) and was packed with fish, which was exactly what we wanted. It’s a great, delicious roll to be low carb and really focus on the fish. We also had some of the nightly specials, the smoked yellowtail with apple and some toro (fatty tuna). For some reason I was expecting baked yellowtail so I was surprised when the fish came out but that was completely my own fault as I should have clarified before ordering. It was a unique dish, but I would not order it again. It was our first time trying toro and it was decent, but we were surprised to see that it was $7/slice when we got the bill (again, our fault for not paying close attention). I wouldn’t get the toro again either, but it was nice to try. The waitress helped us out by telling us that you tend to get more fish if you order it without rice and we did get more than the four slices that we ordered so we appreciated that. The service was quick and our waitress was very friendly and helpful. We also sat at the sushi bar and got to enjoy watching the sushi chefs. Overall i would definitely come back here for the high quality sushi and friendly service, but I’d try some different things on the menu.

Sushi-Rama Fitzsimons Aurora Menu with Prices 13650 E Colfax Ave, Aurora

Fun and quick sushi! Sushirama is a fun and colorful restaurant with a novelty conveyer belt that allows you to try pairs of different rolls at different price points. I’ve been to Sushirama a handful of times and overall it’s a neat hang-out spot for casual sushi. The basics: There are five different colors for plates which designate the price points of $1.50, $2, $2.50, $3, and $4. On each plate the nigiri or rolls come out with 2 pieces. The plates have chips on the bottom so that when they have been out on the conveyer belt for 90 minutes, they automatically get taken off. If a roll you would like is not out, you can just ask your server for the roll, and can also order the complete full roll if you would like as well. I recommend ordering off the menu, especially when its busier and there’s less of a selection on the belt. Sometimes waiting for that perfect roll to come by takes a little longer than expected. When you order off the menu, the rest of the pieces also go on the belt. Vegetarian and gluten-free rolls are also designated on the menu. If you’re not feeling like sushi, they also offer a couple of ramen options. I’m a huge fan of sushi with fruit, so I do tend to like the sweeter rolls over the more savory. My top favorite rolls are the pineapple express, lobster tempura mango, and spider. I have tried the ramen as well, but I honestly prefer the sushi. If you are in the mood for ramen, it’s probably best to check out Osaka Ramen which is owned by the same owner of Sushirama. Cool things: If you work across the street on the medical campus, you can get 15% off with your badge. Happy hour is Mon-Fri from 3-6pm and is 25% off all rolls. Happy Hour is a great time to go because those sushi plates can really stack up! They also have a robot that prepares the rice! (While this is cool, this does seem to contribute to looser rice in the rolls which can result in pieces falling apart). The Fitzsimons location also has its own special roll called the Fitzsimons. Sometimes they will have signs out for other special rolls or appetizers. If you’re looking for fun and casual sushi to enjoy with friends or just want to try a bunch of different rolls, this is the place for you.

Edohana Sushi – Menu with Prices – MacArthur Park, 7447 N MacArthur Blvd #140, Irving

I think I found my new favorite sushi spot! Since moving to Dallas 8 months ago I’ve tried several places but most were either overpriced or the taste was lacking. This place is quant and they have photos of the rolls available on the wall. This is a nice touch so for people like me who sometimes wants to see what it looks like before it’s prepared. There were only a few people inside eating when I visited so it was kind of quiet and the people working there didn’t engage in much conversation. That didn’t bother me though and I was just on my phone while I waited. It took about 15 minutes for the entire service time. *Note that I did order two fried rolls* I got the On the Border Roll & Salmon Tempura Roll and brought them home with me. Both were delicious but I think I preferred on the border more. I did save the salmon roll till the following day for lunch simply because eating one roll was filling enough. Looking forward to stopping by again and trying more of their sushi. If you’re ever nearby I would definitely recommend trying this place
