I was deciding between a four and a five star, but chose a 5. I’ve been here quite a few times and my parents actually love it here, but I’ve had different types of services each time (sometimes kind of slow service, but this is during the time that the restaurant is busy). Besides the service, I think the most important factor to look at is the food. I think there’s a good reason as to why this place is my parents go-to cajun restaurant. During the times where the crawfish comes out “fresh” or in season, it is absolutely phenomenal. The crawfish is HUGE and it sucks up all of that cajun juicy goodness. I also ordered their shrimp, and it always comes out so juicy and chewy. Sometimes, in other crawfish places (I won’t name which one), their shrimp comes out really mushy and gross… This is definitely not the case for Rockin Crawfish. The sauce has tons of garlic, which I absolutely LOVE, their spice is at a good level if you order mild/medium, and it is definitely NOT too salty (there’s places that have extremely salty sauces and it ruins the whole batch). My family usually orders medium, but I order the Volcano spice on the side (costs a little bit). Finally, their DEAL is amazzziiinggggg. You buy three pounds worth of seafood and you get one extra pound free! Never seen this at another place so that is very exciting. They have $1 oysters on a certain day and they have very reasonable price beers. Please check this place out!

Crawdad’s of Dallas – Menu with Prices – 2701 Fondren Dr, Dallas

Crawdad’s catered our company event and I’d be glad to recommend them to anyone considering Cajun food/crawfish boil as a party theme. They have a great catering menu and there is more than crawfish. We ordered crawfish for 30 and got a really good price per pound. For parties, you need to order 1 week before the event to ensure you get the most recent market price. We opted to get our crawfish cooked and ready to eat although you can hire them to cook the live crawfish at your location. If you get it precooked, it’s much cheaper. The food came in Styrofoam coolers that kept the crawfish hot until serving time. They were medium-large sized crawfish with lots of Cajun seasoning. The new potatoes were super creamy and the corn was so sweet and tasty. Definitely check them out! They’re the only crawfish caterer that will deliver to DFW locations.

Boiling King Crab Menu with Prices 2410 E Arkansas Ln #356, Arlington

I usually go to Garland to get crawfish, but I’m glad I decided to try this place! We were seated immediately when we walked in at 4:30. We started with the cajun fries, which was nice and crispy. We decided to order the 1 lb of Snow Crab, 1/2 lb sausage which came with 2 corns and 3 potatoes along with 1 lb of crawfish and 1 lb of shrimp. The House Special seasoning with medium spiciness wasn’t too spicy, even for someone who can’t handle spiciness well! I liked that the sauce wasn’t as oily as the other restaurants that I’ve been to. The total for 2 people came out to be $52 which really isn’t bad at all especially for a seafood restaurant. Our server checked on us multiple times to make sure our waters were filled and that we were okay. My partner and I left very satisfied!

The Bucket Crab & Crawfish – Menu with Prices – 2279 Eagle Glen Pkwy, Corona

So we tried Bucket Crab and Crawfish….service started out very good, server was very attentive……the best part of the meal was the dozen raw oysters, they were very fresh and delicious! We both ordered combo #1 with a lb of mussels with the full medley seasoning. The crawfish was supposed to be fresh….yeah not so much….it was a mix of fresh and frozen (if you know how fresh crawfish taste you can tell/taste the difference from fresh and frozen right off the back)… The worst part of the meal was the seasoning! It was horrible! I smelled the bag when I opened it and COULDN’T smell any Cajun or garlic or butter…. that should have been my first clue this was going south. I stuck a finger inside to get some seasoning… it tasted and smelled as if it had a tomato paste base…not at all CAJUN! I’m not sure if they know what cajun is suppose to taste like but they missed the mark big time! I opted for the non spicy while my husband got the medium spice. His had a better taste but still tasted as if it was drowned in tomato paste with no garlic or butter or Cajun flavor! I could not enjoy the seafood because it was drowned in that concoction. My clams were all wasted. You couldn’t even taste the garlic butter or lemon pepper….. I’m not even sure if there was any in there to taste… the server said the full medley was their most popular flavoring but it was disgusting! We tasted and smelled nothing but tomato paste! Yes I tried to clean the tomato paste off the shrimp, mussels, and crawfish but still tasted horrible. Didn’t even bother to eat the potatoes, corn, or sauage…. completely covered in that stuff! Don’t waste your money! We spent $140 and was totally UNSATISFIED! They really need to rework their seasoning! I could be biased because I’m from Florida, have lived in Louisiana, and order live crawfish from Shreveport for my crawfish boils and know what fresh crawfish in great Cajun butter seasoning supposed to taste like! This was not it! This was our first time trying them and also our last time! I do not recommend this restaurant for their seafood bucket/bags….they might have other menu items that are better but we’ll never know! Or maybe just not getting that full medley concoction….. ohhh well Crab Hut here we come!

Shaking Crab (Cambridge) – Menu with Prices – 1815 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge

After having gone to Loui Loui (a similar restaurant) multiple times, I was excited to try Shaking Crab as I heard a lot about it. The ordering process is simple and well explained on the walls and menu: pick seafood of choice, pick a sauce (the shaking sauce is a garlicky Cajun sauce, was a good choice for me), decide on a spice level (hot was sufficient for me, I usually like spicy foods), choose your add-ons. The prices on the menu are per pound, so you can order the amount that is right for you. You should consider the ratio of seafood flesh to shell when deciding on your amounts, 1 pound of shrimp is way more than 1 pound of crawfish because of the amount of shell. I liked the Shake It Up add on option as it adds 1/2 a pound of shrimp and a side of fries (good fries, I stole some from my friend). They also have $10 pitchers for the drinkers. A huge reason why I am giving 3 stars and not 4, is because the crawfish I ordered tasted really off/odd, they were supposed to be live crawfish, but they tasted really unfresh. For a seafood place, that is really unacceptable since that’s supposed to be the star of the meal. The shrimp and snow crab legs were perfectly fine.

Cajun Boys & Our Poboys Menu with Prices 2673 Valleydale Rd, Birmingham

we have eaten at the Pelham location several times and been pleased and we excited they were opening a location near our house. We are there twice the first week and it was great, since then every visit has been a disappointment. Problems have varied–one time I ordered the fried shrimp which I generally love–2 of the shrimp were warm at best, the rest were room temperature. My husband likes their roast beef sandwich–the last time he got it, it was half the size it usually is (and no he didn’t order a half sandwich). We haven’t gone back in several months until our son came home and wanted crawfish last week. We went to Cajun Boys and asked if they had boiled crawfish that day and they said they did so he ordered it. Two and a half pounds for about $22–not a great deal but not too bad. It came with 1 small new potato, 1/2 ear of corn and 1 mushroom. The worst part was, the crawfish had apparently been boiled sometime way in advance and reheated. They were so soft that it was really hard to peel them and the meat was in tiny pieces. I guess we should have asked if they had crawfish that had been boiled on location and that day. I got a salad and added grilled shrimp–an extra 4-5 dollars. The salad looked like about a head of shredded lettuce, a few tomatoes and 5 SMALL shrimp. We have decided that was the third strike and we won’t be going back–a shame since we need a restaurant of that type in the area.

Artist Crawfish Express – Menu with Prices – 9041 Trask Ave, Garden Grove

I was kind of wary about ordering anything other than the cajun crawfish or shrimp since that’s what Artist specializes in. I mean, why would I order anything other than the specialty? Well, I have an 8 yr old who won’t eat shrimp if he sees it in its original format. He’ll eat shrimp bisque, but not whole shrimp — esp with the shell still on. And crawfish? Oh hell, that’s not an option since it’s something he connects with the critters he sees at the beach. So I got the young man an order of popcorn chicken and fries to start off. The other side of the table had already put in an order of oysters — alas, I’m allergic and couldn’t not indulge although I loved them before I developed an allergy to them. With 16 people it was really hard to decide what to order and I was starving. In the end I just said ‘fuck it’ and ordered. Our side of the table started off with 2 orders of 2lbs of shrimp and wings plus some oysters. I watched everyone throw back the oysters and then order more. I was so jealous and cursing everyone. We ended up with 4 orders of oysters just for our side. They have Pacific Northwest and East Coast oysters to choose from. The wings arrived and I wasn’t particularly fond of these I’m afraid. They were sweet, sour and spicy. I prefer the dry cajun style style. These were sticky due to the sweetness, good heat but sweet and sour is not my thing. The shrimp though had a spectacular seasoning. It was pretty close to the authentic Louisiana style cajun flavorings — not like the type they do at Boiling Crab or Claws which is basically a made up concoction of seasonings. I mean I like those as well, but if you’re looking for authenticity, this place has it down, so it was unfortunate that the shrimp were all overcooked. Such a shame. I was hoping that it was just a fluke but unfortunately, every batch was overcooked. I also got to sample other items: Lemongrass shrimp — very spicy, I mean it kicked MY ass so it was pretty spicy. I liked this seasoning as well, but the cajun was better Crab legs — very salty and tasted like it was previously frozen. Not a fan. Crawfish — they were on the small side so not much meat for a lot of work. Crawfish eggrolls — surprisingly yummy! I didn’t think they would be but they were. Seasoned fries — very tasty and addictive Sweet potato fries — actually are yam fries, not sweet potato fries but these were the best ones I’ve ever had. It is served with a ketchup mayo dipping sauce which went perfectly well with it. Corn and sausage — corn was delicious! The sausage was also extremely yummy. The restaurant is small and it was really nice that they were able to accommodate such a large group. I’d have to say that the fried items were very good but I came for the shrimp and they were over cooked, every single batch of them…. the shells stuck on like glue making it really hard to peel. Best to under cook slightly since shrimp will continue cooking even after they’ve been removed from the heat. Will have to come back and give it another go in the future and update.

Cajun Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 5440 W Broadway Ave, Crystal

First of all, one bonus star should be automatically awarded to any independent restaurant that opens in Crystal, home of every boring fast food chain in Minnesota. But more importantly, my son-in-law and we were both super-impressed after weI went there tonight. The service was excellent (contrary to other reviews — maybe because they weren’t overly busy) and the food was fantastic. We both had the combo of snow crab and shrimp. He had the head-on shrimp and the “hot” spice level (3 of 4), seasoned garlic butter style and I opted for the head-off shrimp and the “no spicy” level garlic butter style. Next time — and there will be a next time (!), I will try the level 1 or 2 spice. The hot level here seems to be much more tame than Cajun Deli (different owners) than here at Cajun Kitchen. That’s why I was so conservative in my spice level, but after trying Aaron’s sauce, I would go spicier. Also, we found that the “head-on” shrimp, in addition to, you know, having heads also are not deveined (the intestinal track was not removed), so I would stick with the “head-off shrimp” which are cleaned before serving. The price for seafood here is excellent and I think they have more variety than at their competitor in Brooklyn Park. They also have lunch specials, as well as dinner specials. Prices for clams and mussels seemed exceptionally low with crab and shrimp being very, very reasonable — maybe even less than buying the food uncooked at Hy-vee and having to make it at home. Please note that this is a seafood restaurant with oysters, clams, crab, crawfish, etc. Don’t look for New Orleans style cooking here. Read the menu online before you go and you will have a better understanding of this style of cooking. I have lived in Crystal for over 40 years and this is the BEST restaurant I’ve found in our city. (Yes, Miltons is good too!) Overall, this was a winner for me and I highly recommend it based on food quality, food taste, price, variety of seafood, and lots of seating.

The Original Kevin Guidry Produce Market – Menu with Prices – 3619 Moss St, Lafayette

This is one of the best places in North Lafayette to get fresh produce. They carry everything you can think of when it comes to produce. They also have a selection of frozen vegetables that are prepared and bagged in house for those that are busy or just don’t want to cut things up..lol. I come here for the creole seasoning blend which is made of the holy trinity – celery, bell peppers and onions. The also add some garlic and green onions to it because when you are cooking Cajun, all of those ingredients are added!! The fruits are alway fresh and juicy! The carry fresh apples, pineapple, watermelon, cantaloupe, oranges, lemons, limes, strawberries, blueberries and lots more! If you find yourself needing some specialty items, they carry gator meat, boudin, many types of seasonings, crawfish boil, Tabasco, crawfish tails and shrimp! When I make a trip, I load up on the fresh produce and pre-cut creole mix!! Stop by you will not be disappointed!!

The LA Crawfish – Menu with Prices – 1303 S 10th St, McAllen

This place is surprisingly good! Being from Louisiana I’m very picky about my seafood. The crawfish is more Asian style which means the seasoning is put in the bag after u pick ur level of spice and flavor. I usually don’t like that but the seasoning is so good it actually works. I’m surprise the crawfish are a nice size bcuz they are out of season right now. I only got a pound bcuz i was afraid but i wasn’t disappointed. My flavor was Cajun and butter garlic/ spicy. I also got the crawfish pho due to the good reviews I’ve read on here and once again i was not disappointed. So much flavor!!! Recent Update!!! I’m back again & this time it’s crawfish season! They had a special today! Buy 2 pounds get the 3rd free. They were soooo good! I got the same flavor as last time. I also tried the snowcrab legs in Cajun garlic flavor which were yummy & cooked to protection however, a bit pricey. I decided to try the blue crab as well and i was disappointed. They weren’t even cooked all the way and when they replaced it, they replaced it with a small miniature blue crab with NO claws that was over cooked. Wasted my money on the blue crab but now i know what not to get.

Crazy Cajun – Menu with Prices – 16000 Stuebner Airline Rd Suite M, Spring

1. Service – our waiter was a guy that goes by “T”. He’s pretty cool and came by often to check up on us. His other teammates were very helpful also. They anticipated what we needed and provided us with refills/crawfish disposal bins even before we asked for it. Just service alone was outstanding. 2. Price – bought 5lbs of Crawfish and a basket of wings with 2 water and paid about $58 for two people. Minus the wings, we paid about $10 per pound for crawfish. Expensive in my opinion. Market price is $4.82 per pound this week. 3. Ambiance – contemporary looking. They have a bar and lots of TVs for game night. Nice place to hang with your boys. 4. Food – we’ve been to the other locations for Crazy Cajun (Hollister St and Jones Rd) and I feel this place was subpar compared to the others. LEMON PEPPER WINGS were overly seasoned and super salty, and the GARLIC SENSATION CRAWFISH were not so fresh and soggy. Perhaps it was this one visit or maybe the chef had a bad day. 5. Cleanliness – this is a brand new restaurant, so the dining area appears clean as what we can see. Restrooms are ok. I may come back to test it one more time, but I wouldn’t want the same experience.

Twisting Roots – Menu with Prices – 5469 Chambers Way E, Jacksonville

WOW! I was thinking it was going to be good but not GREAT! The lady (boss?) was welcoming and asked if I wanted to try a sample. But as I was browsing their menu the Bikini Bottom sandwich caught my eye. Shrimp and crawfish combo sounded like a win-win situation. My order came with a side of Cajun style fries and a drink. The fries were super crispy and had a flavorful spicy kick, what cajun fries should be! The sandwich surprised me, I read that it had a southwestern coleslaw as a topping but I didn’t think much about it since I’m neutral when it comes to coleslaw in general. Coupled with the surprisingly crispy battered fried shrimp-crawfish it made the sandwich so good. Loved the crunchiness of the seafood with the crispiness of the slaw combined with the soft bread. Great trinity of textures and flavors on my palate. I highly recommend this food truck even if you have given them a try, I’d say try another sandwich and see what other flavors they offer ;)!

WING STATION – Menu with Prices – 619 S Pine Ave, Ocala

This is the second time we’ve gotten takeout from here and really liked it. The first time we got 10 garlic Parmesan wings and the shrimp boil with Cajun seasoning. The wings were good, a little small, but cooked well and we really liked the seasoning. The shrimp boil was very good and a good value, 25 medium sized shrimp cooked perfectly with potatoes, corn and a small piece of sausage for $12.99. This time we got the special party seafood boil and the 4-Piece catfish dinner. Again, I think they have good value for what you get. The seafood boil easily fed 2 people with 1 snow crab cluster,10 medium shrimp, 10 crawfish, potatoes and corn. It also listed sausage but we didn’t get any of that and I think there should have been 2 corn on the cobs for such a big serving of everything else. The fried catfish was also a really good value, 4 huge pieces of fish and french fries for $10.99. Give them a try.
