I don’t know what was better – the food, or the service. I called ahead of time to see if they had outside seating so I could bring my dog and the employee told me it was no problem he could set something up for me. When I got there he carried a table and chair right outside the storefront for me and my pup. Ordered a vanilla cappuccino and a banana, strawberry, and Nutella crepe which were both AMAZING. The gentleman even brought out a little cup of water and whipped cream for my dog. Will definitely be back to try the rolled ice cream. P.S.A. If you wanna bring your dog, I’d be sure to call first cause the store front isn’t very big (only enough room for 1-2 dogs), and it’s right on university so there’s a lot of foot traffic and cars rolling by, in case your dog doesn’t do well with those things. I’d also advise to bring them in the morning or evening or when it’s not very hot out. If it’s just you, come by ANYTIME. Plenty of seating inside and as I said earlier, food is great.

Gordon’s Mix N Go – Menu with Prices – 2902 E 10th St, Indianapolis

5 stars just isn’t enough for Gordon’s. My wife and I have visited his store a few times with friends. Great little place near 10th and Rural and even better ice cream. However, I want to give a BIG shout out to Gordon’s for their mobile service. My organization hosted the Day of Innovation conference at Butler University this week. Gordon brought over his mobile ice cream cart to serve tasty treats during our lunch hour. Because of a wet and rainy forecast, we got moved inside. Gordon was able to bring his setup inside and his cones were a HUGE hit. Because of the longer food lines for lunch, some were even enjoying ice cream while waiting. We had about 10 flavors for guests to choose from. The Superman and Popcorn seemed were the crowd favorites. (I went with Chocolate Chip). If you are planning an event, call Gordon’s! Any event is better with ice cream. And it’s infinitely better with Gordon’s ice cream.

The Steamie Weenie – Menu with Prices – 1500 N Green Valley Pkwy #130, Henderson

Usually I grill my own hot dogs but last night on the way home, I didn’t feel like stopping at the store to buy hot dogs and buns. I had passed the sign for Steamie Weenie of several occasions and although it was out of my way, I decided to give it a try. Steamie Weenie isn’t a big restaurant and the seating isn’t all that comfortable but if you want a hot dog, it’s the place to go. One orders at the counter and they call when the food is ready. They have many different specialty hot dogs and bratwursts on the menu with a plethora of toppings or one can build one’s own. I chose the Nor’wester which comes with grilled onions, cream cheese, sriracha, green onions and jalapeno. This isn’t some short hot dog either, it extends way past the bun on both sides. The hot dog was very good and a bit messy. What stole the show were the Doggie Style Tater Tots, topped with cheese, grilled onions and Steamie sauce. Delicious. They don’t have a soda machine but they do have bottled sodas, most of them vintage that I haven’t seen for years. Alas, they didn’t have Delaware Punch so I selected Frosty’s Blue Cream Soda. My dinner came to $13.80 with tax , a bit high but there was plenty to fill me up. I’ll have to stop by again when my husband is out of town as he hates hot dogs.

Jukebox Ice Cream Parlor – Menu with Prices – 1937 E State Blvd, Fort Wayne

Came into town for a couple days and this happens to be the best hangout during our stay. It was horribly hot and what better way to cool down with ice cream right? Well, this little shop had the creamiest ice cream and more. Apparently they serve hot dogs, chips, root beer and coffee as well. Cold brew was outstanding and all their prices are reasonable. It’s more like a little café rather than just an ice cream shop. The staff was super friendly and they tell me that they rotate menu items and ice cream flavors, so next week they’re serving Italian beef sandwiches. We ended up spending a couple hours here to snack and rest from the heat. It wasn’t busy cuz it was a Tuesday afternoon so I whipped out the laptop and my little girl played with a ball from their toy machine while listening to jukebox music. She had so much fun I’m sure I would’ve been kicked out elsewhere. I would be back to sit in their front patio with sandwiches if I could. As far as ice cream, rush hour is my favorite cuz it’s got those chocolate covered cocoa beans and I got it on top of an upside down pineapple cake. Yes, that’s right. Not just the option of your typical banana split. Isnt that awesome?

Coffee del Rey – Menu with Prices – 1915 Central Expy #340, Plano

Wow! I lived around here for years and didn’t know there could be good places like these hidden in that corner until after I moved. It seems to be classified under hippie talk to want freshly roasted coffee but i’d argue it’s not even coffee if it’s past 2-3 weeks of roast date. Everything that’s good about coffee is gone after that time so the bags of coffee you buy at supermarkets are past the best before date. Not even organic stores sell fresh coffee. Now to this roastery. This place is awesome. The price of coffee is amazing value. The bags are black and have vents for proper storage and zip locks for convenience. The coffee tastes amazing and it’s perfectly roasted. I went on Saturday and there wasn’t much foot traffic which kinda worried me cause this place is a gem. People love to mention starbucks but wow they don’t even come close. Not even some of the better cafes in Dallas do. It’s conveniently by the highway, ample parking space, perfect outside seating due to less foot traffic and amazing coffee!

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams Menu with Prices 800 Avalon Blvd, Alpharetta

Overall…just splendid!! Service: This place is small, but the staff is very efficient. They are quick to hand out samples and get your ice cream out to you. I mean? Why would they not be? This place can be packed especially during the summer and with the amount of foot traffic Avalon can get. The staff is used to it and they are ready for any rush. Food: delicious ice cream! Always something new to try out, but always stocked with the usuals. They have such unique flavors that you can’t find at any Baskin Robins or Brusters. Their ice cream is delicious and so light, that I never feel guilty after eating it. I recommend getting the Trio. Why? Well for $6 you get 3 half scoops and a large waffle cone chip. Why this and not just a cone? Well, I believe in optimizing what you pay for. For a cone, it’s $5 and you get one flavor. But with a Trio, you get to try 3 flavors for really only a $1 more. Sure, you don’t get to enjoy ice cream from a waffle cone, but it’s less of a mess and you get to try more flavors. The Trio was enough for both of us to share and not feel too full. 5/5 – because…I don’t always get ice cream, but when I do I always try to come to Jenni’s! I love this location because while I’m eating, I can go around window shop, and possibly burn off some calories from walking around a bit! It can get busy and it is hard to find seating around the building, but worth if you want good friendly staff and delicious ice cream!

Starbucks Coffee – Menu with Prices – 2191 Winchester Rd NE B, Huntsville

This is a new Starbucks. I did not know it was there until driving by and I was thinking about finding the nearest Starbucks. It is convenient for shoppers in the area as it is directly in front of Wal-Mart and across the street from Publix.â?? There were a number of cars in the drive-thru, as is often the case at a Starbucks. We went inside and ordered an eggnogâ?? latte and a blueberry scone. The coffee was perfect. The scone was fresh and available to be served hotâ??. It “hit the spot” for a morning snack and a late lunch coming up later. There is an interesting wall decoration in the seating area. I had not seen a jungle scene in a Starbucks previously. There is considerable seating in the store. As it is new, the latest design for Starbucks was used. There is a long table with room for a number of people to sit as well as more comfortable seats with small tables against the wall. If you like Starbucks, this will be a good location to try.

Crowne Plaza Greenville-I-385-Roper Mtn Rd – Menu with Prices – 851 Congaree Rd, Greenville

Stayed here July 18 – 24 for a sports tournament. Our room wasn’t ready by 3:00 pm (check in time) so they put up in a different room. When we got there and started to unpack I found a couple of left over containers in the fridge; both seemed to have been there awhile. I took them to the front desk and the manager on duty was apologetic and said if we needed anything to ask for him. We saw him again about an hour later and he didn’t seem to recognize us. Ran into him again later that evening and still no clue. The next morning we were sleeping in due to the long drive the day before when we were awoke just before 9 am by housekeeping. My daughter answered the door and said we’d be a few minutes which seemed to upset the maid who replied, “So when?” in an irritated tone. We were out of there in less than 10 minutes and saw the maid’s cart at the room next to ours, yet we came back that afternoon to find nothing had been touched. Towels on the floor, beds unmade, trash untouched. So what was the rush at 9 am? The room never got done that day. The next day we were out early and returned again that afternoon. Once again. Nothing was touched. So now we’re going on day three and need towels and washcloths. Yes, I know you can reuse them but this is a hotel which is supposed to have maid service plus as I noted, we were here for a sports tournament; athletes need to take showers after practice and so go through towels. We left again and sometime before we returned they gave us a partial replacement of towels. Didn’t touch the beds but did empty the trash. After day three they seemed to get the room every day. Then again we were out by 6 am and didn’t return until 9:30 or 10 at night. It wasn’t until the last day that they resupplied the hotel soap and the mini shampoo and conditioner. Ya I know, minor but really? They couldn’t afford to kick out a small bottle of shampoo when they do the rooms? Other observations: The room seemed a bit narrow (about a foot) for a US hotel room and the ceiling in the bathroom was low (I’m 5’9″ and could almost palm it.) The tub was smallish and the bathroom counter didn’t go from wall to wall. There’s about a foot gap on either side meaning limited counter space. And there were no hooks or shelves for towels near the tub so you could grab it after a shower. Really the only place accessible was to leave it on the toilet tank. Speaking of toilet… I had to fix ours since it kept running. The chain was getting caught under the flapper. Easy fix but certainly something that the maid should have noticed. Oh, and the drainage in the bathroom (and toilet) was slow. Parking could be better but it was ok, but the location is horrible. Trying to get out of the parking lot in the morning takes some time. The hotel is located at a busy corner and you have to turn left out of the lot to get to the main road. In the morning, traffic coming from the left was pretty steady and the cars from the right would often back up from the traffic light past the drive entrance. Someone would usually stop to let you in but we still gave ourselves an extra couple of minutes to get out. Dining was ok. I ordered a hamburger which was fine but could have been smaller; it was probably 1/2 lb. It also cost around $12. I would have been happy with a 1/4 lbs burger for $6. My daughter ordered the kid’s chicken fingers which turned out to be a serving large enough for me. Four big chicken tenders and fries. Again, pricey but it’s a hotel. Overall, our stay was average for a US hotel. Nothing special. Were it not for the terrible maid service I wouldn’t even be writing this.

The Eliza Jane In The Unbound Collection By Hyatt – Menu with Prices – 315 Magazine St, New Orleans

Probably will get yelled at for the 4 star review. I’m tougher to please w/the NOLA hotels since I am a native. The hotel is beautiful w/historical significance! There’s a whole story about Eliza Jane in every room or you can just google it. We originally booked 1 night, Friday, June 28. Then my wife and I realized, over alcohol of course, that it was too nice of a hotel for just a night’s stay. We booked a second night and had a choice of a merged reservation, staying in the same room OR switching to a better room at a lower rate. Well, DUH, we took the better room at a lower rate. All I heard from everyone staying there was “This is my go to hotel when I return.” I didn’t hear anyone complain, but me. Remember, I’m a native NOLA, living in another state now. Valet parking is $43 w/tax a night and the garage is 5 blocks away. So allow 15-20 minutes to have your car retrieved for check out. When I arrived to check in I double parked on busy Magazine behind 2 vehicles that had their hazards flashing. I waited for the valet to show up for a good 5-10 minutes while my wife checked in. Still nobody showed up, now the traffic is getting stupid at rush hour. I called the front desk and explained the situation and was told to go around and park in front of those two cars. Once I did that the valet showed up and told me those cars are for departing guests. Um, how does one know that, especially if you’re a tourist? I know better NOT to leave a car double parked on busy Magazine Street during rush hour, much less anywhere in NOLA. The valet explained to me he was the only one at the stand and could not leave his post until another co-worker showed up. Nobody should have to wait on a busy street for a valet. I could’ve just parked up the street at the corner lot for that service. I believe the front desk guy’s name is Juan? My pet peeve in any room is how clean are the air vents! They were NOT clean! Takes 2 seconds to clean. My favorite item in the room was the shower curtain, makes me homesick, and a lamp located in the lounge of my second room. The beds are extremely comfortable in both rooms. I love the matching bath & sink faucets by Kohler and matching hardware for the window treatments. Yes, I’ll return!

Club Med Billiard Parlor – Menu with Prices – 101 S 38th St, Harrisburg

Club Med is the better of the two pool rooms found in Harrisburg. The other one being BCA Billiards. Club med offers an All Night Special for $10 for those die hard pool players. They also offer a selection of tables. They have several 9 foot tables, a couple of bar tables, a billiards table (no pockets) and a 12 foot snooker table. They do offer snacks and drinks. They do not sell beer but you can bring your own beer into the pool hall. A few of the 9 foot tables looked like they are well taken care of. those tables were in use when we arrived. We played on one of the corner tables. The simonis cloth was worn and the table had a slight roll on the bottom rail. On a Saturday night, there were 6 tables going making the room about 35% full. The location of this pool room makes it easier to find than BCA billiards. If I had a choice between the two rooms, I would play at Club Med over BCA.

Hilton Stockton – Menu with Prices – 2323 Grand Canal Blvd, Stockton

. Where do I even begin? This is the WORST Hilton Iâ??ve ever stayed at and Iâ??ve stayed at MANY Hiltons all over the world hence why I became a member. I come to Stockton multiple times a year because I still have family here who I visit. To be honest when I do visit I normally stay at Courtyard or Marriott because I ALWAYS get spectacular services every time I stay. Unfortunately the weekend of May 25-27 those hotels were booked up and Hilton wasnâ??t so now I know why. So I decided to give this Hilton a try and of course it ended up being the horrible experience that it was. We were in town to celebrate my sisterâ??s graduation from college which is the most exciting milestone. So my sister was staying with me at this Hilton, she has a service dog that we informed the hotel. Our room was by the elevator and there was a lot of foot traffic. As we stepped out for a bite the dog remained in the room. The dog has stayed in hotels multiple times including places like the Courtyard & Marriott in Stockton with no issues. As we were at dinner I get a call from the hotel informing me our dog was barking so I kindly told them I would be on my way back. It didnâ??t take long for a rude Christine from the hotel to call me again being extremely rude asking me if I had a dog in my room and that it was barking and if I can put a muzzle on it, I was baffled and so upset at that comment. I said excuse me? I once again told her that is a service dog and that it was rude of her to tell me to muzzle the dog. I told her I was on my way back she then asked me what the service dog was for? I once again couldnâ??t believe this, I am now really upset and told her she legally canâ??t ask me that she proceeded to say yes she can. I get back to the hotel to tend to my sisters dog and as me and my sister and 1yr old son got to our floor we not only didnâ??t hear our dog barking but the hallway wreaked of marijuana and a party going on a few doors down. As Iâ??m stepping into my room and the door closes thereâ??s a knock on my door and itâ??s the patron from right across our room coming over rudely telling us our dog was barking. I said â??Iâ??m sorry but Iâ??m back and that the dog wasnâ??t (as we were heading to our door) and isnâ??t barking. She continues to yell, I told her she can not come to my door and needs to report to front desk. Mind you itâ??s 11pm and I have a 1yr old son dealing with another patron disturbing our privacy yelling. So I then called the front desk to inform them that if thereâ??s a complaint by another patron it needs to be handled by them, that another patron have no rights and allowed to come and start problems with another paying patron (us). Christine proceeds to say â??yes that another patron has every right to come disturb us because our dog â??disturbâ? them. I couldnâ??t believe what was being said to me. I am so thrown back at how awful they treat their customers. I told Christine â??Iâ??m so sorry but that isnâ??t ok and in no hotel that they allow another patron to go to another patronâ??s door.â? I reminded Christine that my dog is a service dog and that itâ??s allowed at the hotel, she tells me no they donâ??t allow dogs of any kind, I told her itâ??s on the hotel website she says no. She then continues to argue with me and threatens to send security so I told her go right ahead and send security because Iâ??m not doing anything wrong by telling her they should never allow another patron to come to another paying patronâ??s room. She then HANGS UP ON ME! Like whhhhhhaaat? Just wow! Have anyone EVER experienced a front desk employee of a well known Name hotel like Hilton hang up on u? I can assure the answer would be NO! My sister was so upset she went down to the front desk to ask them for all their names and she was accused of being drunk which she wasnâ??t. I believe the hotel uses these excuses to treat their customers poorly by accusing us of being drunk and acting out. They also told her she wasnâ??t allowed to ask for their names. It was Christine and another employee I believe if I remember co

B & K Drive In Menu with Prices 725 E Wilbeth Rd, Akron

I don’t get to Akron, Ohio often between March and October when this drive-in is open, but when I do, I definitely make one or two stops here. I always get a couple spanish dogs (which are just regular dogs with a sloppy joe-type of meat sauce that perfectly compliments the hot dog, with no extra condiments necessary). The root beer was also awesome. Home made and served in a frosty mug. The fries were pretty standard fries but they were good as well. My only complaint is that being a drive-in, this place is not open year round. Also, parking is pretty bad though there usually are not many cars here. There is a table to sit out at if you don’t want to be stuck in your car as well. There are copycat recipies for the sauce online however I don’t believe any of them do justice to the real thing. For example, all of the recipies call for diced onions, yet when we asked at the restaurant we were told there were no onions in the sauce, as my girlfriend has an onion allergy. For the money, you can’t beat it. We had 2 spanish dogs and a large root beer each, split an order of fries as well, and the cost was under $10. I’ve been some places where the meal for just me costs more than that.

Larry’s Chicago Dogs – Menu with Prices – 2220 Academy Pl, Colorado Springs

Love going to Larry’s! First of all the hot dogs are great- both the dogs and the buns themselves are of a much greater quality than one typically can find at a grocery store and certainly off the rollers at a convenience store so one doesn’t feel as guilty about grabbing a dog or two there. The Chicago dogs that are offered are as attractive to the eye and tasty for the stomach so they should please expatriate Chicagoans, foodies and hot dog snobs alike. A couple of other unique menu items are a bit more exotic, but they do fit in well here in Chicago Springs with all our wildlife, hiking, and other outdoor pursuits. These are hot dog wieners made of buffalo or deer and both are quite tasty Also the prices are very fair and there’s always special of the day to further help with the savings. Typically fries accompany the specials and they are also available upon request to accompany other items on the menu. Finally, when you come in, you’re almost assured to have your order taken and later the food handed to you by Larry himself from behind the counter. Yes, hot dog fans THERE IS a Larry and he’ll take good care of you, but be sure to bring your appetite with you.
