Full disclosure: I waited way too long to review this place. My first time here was incredible. It was just like you see in the pictures on yelp: Dark and Exciting. Every table was illuminated with black lights and glow sticks. A DJ, yes that’s right a DJ was there mixing up hip hop jams as women of questionable age groups grinded up against what ever their skanky little hearts desired. Did I mention this was a pool hall at the time? Yep. At the time, I had never played pool with tables outlined in glowsticks. I can’t truly describe how cool it felt to play a game in that kind of environment. I can’t really describe the overwhelming physical beauty of the servers who ensured we were entertained and always had a drink in hand. I can however tell you that they were simply dressed in tank top and black jeans and due to the darkness each server was required to wear necklaces that glowed in this dark environment….. All that changed when I was last there. It’s bright. The glow in dark stuff has been removed from every table. There is no DJ and there is a famine of women. If you don’t get a table initially you will be shooed out the door. The bar area you can sit at, but don’t expect the hostess to suggest you go there. I got lucky and got a table. The server was just the woman who signed us in. She didn’t serve us or even offer us drinks. My guess is she has abandoned the idea of getting tipped by customers. Long story short it was once exactly like the pictures you see. Now it is just your standard cheap pool hall. Don’t expect much because you won’t get much.

Cue’n Cushion Billiards & Bar – Menu with Prices – 319 Bank St, Ottawa

This place is fantastic. Seriously, I don’t normally say “wow knocks my socks off” but for a local pool hall with decent beer, this place wins all the way. A couple friends and I have been desperately trying to get better at pool. What better place than an actual pool hall. It’s right down the street from me which makes it EVEN better. Seriously, how could you go wrong. The place is full of tables. There are larger ones for a full game where you pay by the hour ($9) or smaller ones where you play per game ($1.50?). When you’re as ‘new’ as we are, paying per game is perfect. Although if you’ve got 4 or 5 of you per hour is good because you’re playing on a full table. The place is cash only but there’s an ATM in there to help you out. And the beer is great. They have 5 or 6 different beers on tap, including but NOT limited to Alexander Keith’s, they have some decent alternatives as well, and at $15 a pitcher it’s a great price to share a few pints while you play. The staff are fantastic, funny and attentive and there’s always a super diverse crowd. The whole place is a little “grungy” but it’s an upstairs pool hall, so you really, honestly, can’t expect anything else. It’s open super late and I’ve yet to show up and not be able to get a table. All in all, this pool hall it gets 5 stars from me!

Legacy Billiards Bar and Grill – Menu with Prices – 5303 N Market St, Spokane

They just opened recently like within the last few months. Really nice open space with 16 Diamond pool tables. If you don’t know, Diamond pool tables are known to be one of the (if not the) superior pool tables with tighter pockets, one piece of slate (so you’re not experience funky table rolls) and they’re felted with Simonis 860 aka Tournament Blue. What all of that is saying is these are very nice pool tables. Legacy uses Cyclops pool balls. They hit a little different than Aramith balls which are what you usually use in most bar pool halls. The most distinctive thing about Cyclops are the colors. On the whole, they have a pastel look. The 7 and 14 balls are light blue versus the standard maroon. These colors show up well on camera and you often see them in professional competitions. I also want to note it costs $0.75 per rack which I really appreciate given 1) the nice equipment and 2) there’s a certain other pool hall here with the same tables and balls, but they charge a whopping $1.00 per rack which is crazy sauce! While I didn’t order food, I know they have the same menu as 7th Rail (same owner) and I really enjoy 7th Rail’s food; it’s bar food, but really good. Only reason why it’s not 5 stars is they seemed to need more staffing and the parking situation was a bit confusing. Not sure if you can park in the lot across the street, but I’ll ask the next time I’m in. Even though it’s in Hillyard and the area seems slightly sketch at night, this is a nice bar to hang as you can see from the pictures. They also have free WiFi!

Fresh donuts – Menu with Prices – 2790 Santa Rosa Ave suit 100 D, Santa Rosa

Very easy and convenient location for me to access. The staff is very friendly and ALWAYS seem to be cleaning when i go inside. This is a small place but clean. They also make sandwiches. I’ve personally have not orderes one yet. One of these days, I’ll give it a go. I tend to go in for a chocolate donut and a small coffee. One complimentary donut hole is given with each donut order. A super bonus! The coffee is brewed fresh and goes hand in hand with donuts. There is a nice little table where you can spruce your coffee up. There used to be a gorgeous fish tank when you walked in. Last time i was in there I asked where they were. She said the now live in the Koi pond. The fish tank gave the place a nice touch and was a little disappointed to see it had been removed.

Rack & Grill Menu with Prices 3481 Old Petersburg Rd, Augusta

Wide area for multiple games of pool to be played without too much distraction. Fairly diverse crowd and the majority of people are jovial with a repertoire of sports, fishing, race cars and pool knowledge which they are eager to share. The tables are discounted until 6pm and you can get yourself a half pitcher with a FROSTY mug of umm(refreshments) also. Highly recommend giving Shock Top a try even if you do not favor citrus libations. You might pass up the pool hall if you blink, but look for a neon sign on the front, left corner of the building or else you will have to U-turn. The pool hall is smoke free, but for the smokers and e-smokers, there is a door at the end of the pool hall that leads to a small patio on the side with a couple of chairs and railing if you need a little assistance or you can step outside the front door about 50 feet. Dealer’s choice. If you are looking for league play then you have found a spot to meet and mingle with amateurs and semi-pros alike. The pool hall also have a few electronic games if you feel lucky with tables and chairs around this area if you just want to hang out and converse. It is a good place for just hanging out and very safe if you are wondering! Their music is played through a TouchTunes jukebox with a decent selection. Bartenders are cool!!

Crowne Plaza Harrisburg-Hershey – Menu with Prices – 23 S 2nd St, Harrisburg

R A C I S T! The manager did everything but drain the pool! Our organization were celebrating one of our members but. We had to right our wrong because we did have cake and a bottle of wine in the pool area. The kids and adults were enjoying the evening when the first manager told us to remove the cake and if we had drinks we had to remove them immediately. We immediately took action and apologized all the while removing everything from the area. We also had music playing which nothing was said about that. The kids (all accounted for) went back to enjoying themselves as did the adults including their parents and out leaders of the organization. In walks a white lady who entered the pool and began swimming with know bothering her. Then walks in a black guy who surveyed the area and walked out. Then a young white couple comes in and they got in the water as well. Then a middle eastern guy the first manager another white woman and another man arrive. The manager Rodney Parker burst into the pool area and shouting he stated “we’re shutting this down .” Another leader came over to ask what was wrong and if need be the music could be turned down. He became angry and asked shouting again he yelled “how many of you have keys?” We advised they all do as we were all paid for by the organization. He began yelling he was shutting the pool down. But that was only for the black people because we have white people in our organization and he didn’t telll them or the other white people to get out. The confrontation escalated out in the Hall because our other leader was be confronted about the plates placed on the table that was set up for and paid for by our organization. The manager John didn’t believe her and harrased her. Once I moved out to the hall I asked why the pool was being shut down did someone complain? John advised yes, the lady in the pool. That made matters worse because that wasn’t a valid reason to “shut” the pool down! By now Rodney was filming the kids who had abided and got out the pool! I’m the meantime I asked if the pool was also going to be drained since the white lady made a complaint because she wanted the pool to herself! I also started video taping the incident since both John and Rodney were being absolutely rude and treated us like…you guessed it…2nd class citizens. Rodney proceeded to act like he was calling the police since we continued to probe him as to why he was shutting the pool down at 9:00. Now the white women gets out and walks amongst us and I asked if she had a issue with us. She speaking in her Russian accent said “I’m a educated woman and these kids were unruly.” she walked away. So to sum it up your inferior management team took the word if a “racist white woman” and they ruined the night for a group of multi racial group of individuals just enjoying a night together. The next 6/7, your inferior Event planning team offered no resolution so we walked out of the hotel and moved to another location where we felt welcomed and supported! We will never do business at the crowne plaza again. We have found a hotel who values their customers regardless of race’

Monkon Sushi & Bar – Menu with Prices – 394 University Ave W, St Paul

I found out about salsa night on meet up. So I checked it out….a guy came up to me and told me they were racist. Once he brought that to my attention I looked around there was only one other black women. She was not dancing. The men were either latin/white/3 blk guys, they were not very friendly toward black women not even the few black men that were there. I stayed for 35 minutes and walked around the room and got a drink and left.Btw im very beautiful….so that was suprising,but okay I guess …I would never go there again.

White Diamond Billiards – Menu with Prices – 6722 Johnston St, Lafayette

White diamonds is the best place to hang out, have food, and shoot pool that Iâ??ve ever been in my life. The food is not â??bar foodâ? they have a full kitchen. Most importantly tho the tables are measured down to the thousandth and the felt is changed regularly. The pool tables are extremely well kept up and itâ??s the only place Iâ??ve ever seen that cleans and polishes the balls after each table rental. Punchline is, if you want to play pool this is the absolute best place to do it not just in Lafayette LA but over any pool hall or bar Iâ??ve ever been to. Also if you get hungry or donâ??t want to break the bank having a drink, or two, or three whoâ??s counting?! White diamonds is the spot.

Jerry’s Family Billards II – Menu with Prices – 1312 N Lake Ave, Pasadena

Our family winters in Pasadena 3 months out of the year. This year, I found this pool hall on yelp and decided to check it out. We have taken our family many times since then (3 teens and one young adult). I can’t say enough about this establishment. The staff has been exceptional and our family is always treated very well. I would highly recommend this business to anyone who enjoys a chill game of pool and doesn’t want to break the bank. It’s 10 dollars an hour which is reasonable. My husband ordered a beer tonight and it was a fair price as well. Along with the pool tables are 3 dart boards that are state of the art. There is always ample parking space in the back which is a bonus. If you’re looking for a billiard hall, look no further.

Palette Bar and Grill – Menu with Prices – 901 E Washington Ave, Madison

Clunky was the best way to describe it. We had a new server, who stated that when we started. I’m ok with that as long as they are trained. We ordered a craft cocktail and was fine. Ordered Lobster cake for app and Rainbow salad. Salad came out and no app until finally we asked and he forgot to put it in. Lobster cakes were small and not worth $16.00. Salad was well dressed and tasty. Had the steak and Shrimp special. Asked for description and if it had onions on it. Was told no but when it was served it had onions, server comment: “nobody told me that”. I expect more for a $50.00 a plate steak place, especially with dietary restrictions. Asked if desserts were homemade and server didn’t know. Cool decor but needs to upgrade service and have a floor manager available and better trained servers.

Pockets Billiards, Wings & Beer – Menu with Prices – 1900, 1441 N Zaragoza Rd, El Paso

If I could describe this pool hall in a few simple words, it’s like the annoying little brother of Clicks Billiards. And while reviews remained all over the place amongst fellow Yelpers, I wanted to give PBF the benefit of the doubt since it’s so much closer to my house than the aforementioned Clicks. Sadly, they barely hold a candle to their much more superior competition. Walking in, the place looked normal enough….at first. It was 10 seconds later when it occurred to us; with the bar ostensibly flooded with patrons and thereby unapproachable by any feasible angle, this meant obtaining a pool table as if we were in a sit down restaurant like a couple of goobers. As we’re literally escorted to a table restaurant style, it ends up being the one furthest toward the back, closest to the ear piercing speakers blaring a Mexican themed marathon of tracks. That’s right. Evidently, some patrons must’ve reserved a library’s worth of tracks on the TouchTunes jukebox. Since I was only able to hijack the CLEARLY myopic barrage of songs with only one of my own, I opted for my own tunes via Bluetooth headset that evening (as I usually do whenever the in-house music sucks balls). The payment procedures of this place are really bizarre. Instead of taking your tab via ID and credit card as with most other places, they apparently charge it to whatever table you’re at, periodically checking up on you for more refills on their very limited wine selection (more on that later), then closing you out at the very end whenever you say so. My question is: how did they know I wouldn’t have made a break for it out the side door that we were playing next to? Not sayin’ I would actually DO that…but, I’m just sayin’. One tall tale sign that their wine selection sucks is when I have to request “the red one”. Basically, they only had one type of red wine, which also happens to be a sparkling wine evidently. But it was dry, so I stayed long enough to two drinks. Plus, I was less than amused to discover the attending server had ZERO clue what brands of wine they stocked. What a shame. Sometimes I talk about how, when visiting certain places, you can’t help but compare them to your “first love”. Mine is Clicks on Airway. So, I would hope another pool hall closer to my house would at least have SOME of the features we enjoy there. Alas, PBF is just a mediocre carbon copy of other much better done pool bars. The place feels cramp thanks to their strange arrangement of the pool tables, the servers seem distracted and clueless, and the wine selection is painfully limited. Next time, we’ll gladly take the 9 mile hike over to Airway. PBF gets 2 ginormous loudspeakers blasting a Mexican marathon of tunes all night out of 5.

Club Med Billiard Parlor – Menu with Prices – 101 S 38th St, Harrisburg

Club Med is the better of the two pool rooms found in Harrisburg. The other one being BCA Billiards. Club med offers an All Night Special for $10 for those die hard pool players. They also offer a selection of tables. They have several 9 foot tables, a couple of bar tables, a billiards table (no pockets) and a 12 foot snooker table. They do offer snacks and drinks. They do not sell beer but you can bring your own beer into the pool hall. A few of the 9 foot tables looked like they are well taken care of. those tables were in use when we arrived. We played on one of the corner tables. The simonis cloth was worn and the table had a slight roll on the bottom rail. On a Saturday night, there were 6 tables going making the room about 35% full. The location of this pool room makes it easier to find than BCA billiards. If I had a choice between the two rooms, I would play at Club Med over BCA.

Imagine 3D Mini Golf – Menu with Prices – 785 W Warner Rd Suite A107, Gilbert

What a fantastic place! It’s 114° outside and inside it is dark, glowing, clean and comfortable and feels like about 75°, awesome! We were greeted by three of the nicest, most friendly high school guys you could want to meet, Robbie, Dominic and Trevor. The owner definitely cares about his customers by having them greeted and supported by these three. Also, as shown by the cleanliness, they disinfect everything, including your 3-D glasses before you start. Love that. You don’t have to wear the 3-D glasses to enjoy this place, but it adds an extra dimension, literally ? Inside is incredibly cool and colorful! We were told it took two guys a full month of work to paint the inside of this place in glow in the dark, 3-D murals and pictures. The whole place is black light with glowing three-dimensional worlds, creatures shapes and walkways. There’s even a scavenger hunt where you try and find hidden words on the walls as you play your 18 holes. It really was a total blast! They also have a game area with air hockey and video games and a birthday party area. This place is super well done, super well run and very affordable. Highly recommended for any age, not just kids. We will definitely be back!
