I used to drive all the way to Houston to have some oc.. but you know what?? Not anymore!! This is a pretty dang good alternative!! The menu is extensive, with all the Vietnamese food your heart desires, a lot of “do nhau”, and Lau (hot pot) that i want to try for next time! Out of all the things I ordered my favorite was the salad, and the oc Len!! The salad was mixed with mango and big slices of squid with fish sauce, i love the balance of flavors! A little bit of chewiness, a little bit of crunch and a little bit of salt! And the oc Len is by far the best I’ve had, the coconut sauce– I’m telling you, I would drink think! The oc itself is the biggest I’ve ever had at any restaurant! I mean it was so massive I had to take it home! The oc Huong itself was a very good size! However, I didn’t like the flavor we picked– I don’t think I would get just the salt and pepper anymore, I would want to try another flavor! The clams was also a great size but It tasted a little fishy if that makes sense. The Nuoc mam is usually a big thing for me and I would give it a 3.5 Overall, Glad I have an alternative as opposed to driving to Houston when I have a craving!

Southern Classic Fried Chicken – Menu with Prices – 3651 Hollywood Ave, Shreveport

Well first off i love Southern Classic chicken i been going to this place since the hollywood location opened here lately i been going to the North Market location they are friendly at this location but here lately they have been putting so much salt on the fries you cant hardly eat/enjoy them so i decided i wanted to start getting fries with lite salt so went to north market location today 8/31 orderd my food and fries with lite salt and a pepper get home with my order no pepper and fries full of salt so i called the manager about the heavy salt she was so UNPROFESSIONAL i shared with her about the heavy salt and that i ordered lite salt on my fries and i got heavy salt plus i didnt get my pepper first she has me on speaker phone telling me that the girl can hear me while im talking about the pepper the manager also tell me that everyone in the world wants extra salt on their fries and that me and her might be the only 2 that like lite salt she also said that they cant controll how the seasoning come out the salt shaker because of the big holes and they dont even have a lite salt button so i might need to orfer my fries without salt because its no way i can get lite salt on my fries but to me why order a fry with out seasoning and the seasonings is wht make the fries good they just need to put the proper amount without over doing things but i wont go bk

Tibet Bowl & Sushi – Menu with Prices – 50 Main St, Salt Lake City

Sad to say this place is pretty terrible, i love nepalese food especially momo, unfortunately every component of the momo was bad, the dumpling shell was too thick and bread-y tasting, the meat filling had an offputting old tinge taste to it, and the sauce although it smelled excellent didnt have much flavor to it at all and was kinda creamy like tikka masala sauce or something, i didnt try the sushi but that should have been the red flag from the get go, sushi and nepalese food do not go together just like sushi and chinese food dont go together how do people not understand this!!!

Quaker Steak & Lube – Menu with Prices – In the airport, Concourse B, 5300 Riverside Dr, Cleveland

Airport food is not known for its quality and value. So, I’m here mostly for convenience and opportunity and went in with low expectations. I was greeted by a blonde woman still sucking down a chicken bone. She seemed bothered that she had to walk away from her plate of wings to take my order. I ordered the Bloody Mary because it looked good in the photo. Unlike the photo, she added nothing to the rim what looks like should have been tajin. It was the blandest most tomato juice drink ever. I added hot sauce, black pepper, and even salt to give it some sort Bloody Mary flavor- I don’t even taste the vodka so, I don’t even have that help. Actually, it could be mixed with water too it’s so watered down and easy to drink. In fact, two women sat next to me at the bar and also ordered Bloody Marys and I overheard them talking saying, so you taste alcohol? The other woman said no, and I think it needs pepper or something. I handed them my pepper, salt, and hot sauce and told them this will make it a little better. The omelet was pretty eh, and something you’d get at concession stands served on a paper plate. The home fries like everything else bland AF. NO FLAVOR ANYWHERE! There are tons of old white people here, so maybe it’s a regional flavor thing? Not worth the visit unless you just wang soda or water.

Wells Orchards – Menu with Prices – 9009 Kenowa Ave SW, Grand Rapids

My best friend who is from Michigan and I came to Michigan from Houston to run the Detroit Free Press Marathon. We were in Grand Rapids visiting her mother. She wanted to take me to in Orchard to experience a fall tradition. We have nothing like this in Houston. Heck, this time of year are temperatures are still in the upper 80s to low 90s. We went through the corn maze which was fun and then walked over to the apple orchard and even though we weren’t supposed to we ended up making a couple of apples. Then afterwards we picked a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch. For me it was a very nice treat since in Houston we don’t really have a fall season or any kind of fall traditions. Going to Wells Orchards was really enjoyable and lots of memories. Their homemade apple cider was very good as well.

Subway Restaurants – Menu with Prices – Little Creek Shoppes, 3858 E Little Creek Rd Space 21, Norfolk

Hated it went in with a good mood left without it. I went to order my sandwich and asked for my spinage to be added before it gets toasted [i like the chesse melted on it] to which the lady with the noes ring rolled her eyes i was confused but didnt say anything about it. She walked off and finished another customers sandwhich and when she came and set mine up i mentioned “the spinage will need to be covered cause it will burn” after seeing she placed it on its own side rather then under the cheese she snaps at me saying she knows and they dont ussualy do it this way then picked up all the meat and cheese and flopped them on the spinage side. I have PTSD from a incident in my teen years and at that point her snapping at me made my heart rate increase and i cassualy asked my boyfriend for the car keys to “get my phone” wich was just so i could go outside for a sec to calm my heart rate. Went back in and luckily he was done with her and handed me my cup i went over and was annoyed again seeing no tea of any kind i dont drink soda and reluctantly got viatamin water. Went to sit and eat unhappily i came in excited and happy to eat before going to the garden nearby but left in a less then happy mood i get it was easter and she probbaly didnt want to be there but the way she acts was NOT acceptable and made me not only have a episode but wrened my day.

Blu’s Barbeque & BBQ Catering – Menu with Prices – 17630 Preston Rd, Dallas

Really excited to have a great new BBQ place nearby. I stopped in for a late lunch today and just getting out of my car I was met with the delicious aroma of freshly smoked BBQ and I knew if it tasted half as good as it smelled I was in for a treat. The meat is cut to order (and weighed) in front of you and the guys are very conscious of your preferences (lean, moist, etc) and making sure you don’t get a single gram less than you’re paying for. I tried the 5 cheese Mac and cheese for my side and it was good and a generous portion. I’m a bit of a Mac and cheese snob so while I liked it I do think there’s room for improvement. It was creamy and cheesy but it was a bit bland. I’m thinking it could benefit from some pepper and seasoning salt, maybe a sharper cheddar. It just needed something to amp up the flavor. Don’t pass on it though, it’s still very good. They also had a bacon jalapeño Mac and cheese that looked great so I’ll try it that one next time. The brisket was so tender and juicy I didn’t need the knife I grabbed. Great flavor and didn’t *need* sauce but it was a good compliment to it. The regular sauce and the spicy sauce were both good. The spicy sauce wasn’t all that spicy and a 3rd option of a super spicy would be a nice addition. The dining area was very clean and a nice size. It’s not huge and it kind of gave me the feel of that small town place that all the locals know about. And they were playing Texas Country which was a smart choice! The staff was so, so, so nice. There wasn’t salt and pepper on the tables or the sauce stand (I personally think there should be) but I asked for pepper and the gentleman at the register happily got me some. I’ll be back again! Hoping they add turkey to their regular selections (selfishly) because I’m sure its awesome.

Mariscos El Rey Menu with Prices 820 Dayton St, Aurora

Had been meaning to try one of their locations, finally got a chance being in the area, i had high expectations and they were nearly met. Firts off ordered fish tacos and even though i prefer spicier was nothing tapatio couldnt fix. Think the prices are reasonable and portions plentiful. I also ordered a campechana seca wich is a seafood melody. First the downsides: had to figure and put plenty of sauces and salt and peeper to my liking. At first the sauce seemed lime it didnt have much flavor and would be best if it was. Ot as runny so it stays on the food. I didnt get to really taste it until i was done with the seafood and it was not bad. However knowing you must fix it to your liking a phuge plus was the freshness of the seafood, it seemed it was prepared to order not premade, defi ately fresher than other places ive tried. Would suggest you give it a try. Not a huge or fancy but a nice mellow atmostphere. Think they can improve but doing good.

Sugar Cubed – Menu with Prices – 531 13th St W, Bradenton

Not really impressed. Wanted a treat at work so was surprised they had a delivery option. Chose it and placed order. Ordering was very confusing. They need to improve if going to continue. I wanted an assortment of cookies and they had a box option and discounted if bought by dozen. It would not however let me choose the cookies so i opted for an assortment. I only got 3 different flavors even though the menu showed more. It also doesnt state that certain cookies are not discounted. Example the macarons. Had i known they dont consider these a cookie and therefore dont qualify for the cookie box that discounts the price. And website stated that discounts were available if a dozen ordered. I found this out through an email stating they were charging my card an extra amount. Had website been more specific i would have changed my order. Also tjought cookies were very greasy and extremely heavy tasting and a bit dry. The grease soaked through the box. Didnt really expect that. Overall not much flavor and didnt expect the white chocolate macadamia nut ones to have coconut. It should be part of description. Overall experience was disappointing and wont be back. If you continue to offer online order please take a closer look at it it needs a lot of improvements

Jamaican Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 2401 Murchison Rd, Fayetteville

I used to love going here when I came in town, but over time the food has changed in taste, as well as the portions. They don’t put enough season or sauce anymore, and they also don’t let you substitute sides anymore. Which I was surprised they took that option away. In the photos, the one with mac was around when they first opened in 2016 and you could substitute the sides. This year, 2019, I went and I didnt want any sides outside of mac, and they still told me I had to order it as a side. I was going to give up 2 sides for one side of mac and they told me no. I went ahead and ordered the side and got maybe a scoop(not even half of the 2016 pic) for $3, not worth it, and it wasnt good. They have officially lost me as a customer. I gave them a 3 because the desserts are good.

Lychee Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 23450 N 19th Ave, Phoenix

This review is based off of my main dish. I ordered the spicy tuna roll. Which is difficult to mess up. Its spicy so theres a kick present. But its ever so slight. I had to amp it by adding wasabi to each bite. I ordered the General Tsos Chicken. Which on the menu has an indicator letting you know its spicy. It wasnt. It tasting literally like maple syrup. There was no spice present. There wasnt even a smokey flavor. It was just sweet. I couldnt eat another bite without an adjustment made. So i asked for a side of chili oil. Even their chili oil had literally no spice to it. And i used the entire portion of chili oil they provided me with. Probably because its very old or just poorly made. It didnt even make my chicken any better. I picked at the veggies at the plate, requested my check and left. The service was prompt, courteous and friendly. But I guess I feel that I dont go to a resturant for service necessarily but instead i go for the food. But thats just me. I dont believe I will be going back unless its for their Thai Iced Tea. Which I hate to say it was the only tasty thing I ordered. Disappointing considering its a new spot. But Im hoping they make adjustments to their menu otherwise they may not last. Especially since Panda Express is just up the street with better flavors.

The Chicken Barn – Menu with Prices – 2601 Oakdale Rd # S, Modesto

The food is good but the service is actually horrible. I ordered on the phone and came in because I was in a hurry. Not one customer was there and they made me wait 15 minutes longer once I got there for a 10 peice chicken meal. It’s like they didnt want me to place a pickup order, they didnt like that. And the lady was rude. I really wont go anymore because the whole staff is actually VERY RUDE. 100% the rudest establishment I’ve been to. Horrible customer service.
