Chao Bay Vietnamese Cuisine – Menu with Prices – 6829 Stockton Blvd #399, Sacramento

One of the BEST Vietnamese Restaurant in Sac Area!!! The taste is AUTHETIC, overall it’s 8/10 compared to Vietnamese food in Vietnam. So I have tried their Pho, Bun Dau Mam Tom, Bun Moc, and Bun Rieu Cua so far: 1. Pho (8/10) – the broth is actually pretty good. If you like Northern Vietnamese Pho, this is a place for you! If you like Southern Vietnamese Pho, I recommend Ha Noi Pho Restaurant. But my recommend is you should try both lol. And Chao Bay also has “Nuoc Beo” if you ask for it. For those of you who dont know, this “Nuoc Beo” is an oily broth that make the Pho broth more rich and flavorful. It usually comes with a small separated bowl, so you can mix and adjust the broth to your taste. One of the minus point is their noodle, they serve it with a regular noodle that is used in most of the Pho’s restaurant in the U.S. (Ha Noi Pho actually has fresh noodle for additional 50 cents and it’s really good). If Chao Bay has fresh noodle, I gonna give it 10/10 because it will taste exactly the same Northern Pho in Vietnam. 2. Bun Dau Mam Tom (8.5/10) – Pros: they served with hot vermicelli, a lot of different kinds of veggies, and really cheap for that price. Definitely a MUST TRY! Cons: Cha Ca isn’t really good. It’s not chewy like it supposed to be. And the Mam Tom is not as good as I expect. It’s a little bit sweet for me and I love a thick Mam Tom’s smell, but their Mam Tom’s smell is so light (since it has been diluted too much). However, I completely understand why they need to dilute it. Since not everyone can stand Mam Tom’s smell and most of American people dont like that smell. They make it good enough for even people who try it first time can still eat and like it. So my rating is just my personal preferance and comparing w/ Bun Dau Mam Tom in Vietnam, so I know it’s harsh . 3. Bun Moc (6.5/10) – the reason I give it low rating because its broth tastes like Hu Tieu’s broth, not Bun Moc’s broth. Overall, it’s still a good one. But because the broth doesn’t taste like what it’s supposed to. So basically it loses its authenticity. 4. Bun Rieu Cua (7.5/10) – overall it’s good. But the broth is not rich and flavorful as I expected. And the Rieu Cua taste like Cha. Since I was born in Vietnam and lived there for 20 years. I’m really familiar with Vietnamese food, so that’s why I’m so picky and my ratings are harsh. But don’t get me wrong, if I crave for Vietnamese food (especially Northern Vietnamese food cuz they offer a lot of food that most of the restaurants in Sac area dont have), I definitely go here! I just want to give everyone a closer look to what you can expect from this restaurant.

The Lounge At Market Square – Menu with Prices – 1415 Timberlane Rd, Tallahassee

This place is amazing and a gem for Tallahassee or any other city for that matter. Their bourbon selection is insane and beats most of the places I have found in or around Lexington, Louisville and Frankfort, KY. The bar tenders are extremely knowledgeable and can serve craft cocktails based on your taste preference. In addition, they will give very small pours to let you try some of the upper-end liquors. Their pricing is amazing compared to any other places I have seen for straight bourbon pours. I go to this bar whenever I’m in town for a game. One thing I wish, is that they sold some of their high end bottles in their retail store. Most of their high end liquors roll right in to the bar to be sold at reasonable prices… they want everyone to get a taste which I respect. However, I selfishly would love the opportunity to purchase a few of the bourbons they have behind the bar.

Cafe Mi Quang – Menu with Prices – 3324 Kensington Ave, Philadelphia

This restaurant is one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants in Philadelphia area. My mom’s friend knew about this restaurant and recommended to my mom. My mom ordered some take-out for me to try before and I was in love!!! I love their Mi Quang. They have three kinds of Mi Quang: Special Mi Quang, Shrimp and Pork Mi Quang, and Shrimp and Chicken Mi Quang. Special Mi Quang has Chicken, Pork Ribs, and Shrimps. And I usually order this one every time I’m there. The chicken was fried to golden. It was crispy outside and tender in the inside. I can still taste the sweetness of the meat and the juice when I took a first bite. Omg pork ribs were so soft. When I took a bite, I can feel the meat separate perfectly from the bone!!! I also love their crab noodle soup (Bun Rieu). The broth was super flavorful and savory. I appreciate their herbs and vegetables side dish. They included lots of fresh herbs that lots of restaurants don’t offer. Their Vietnamese hoagies or AKA Banh Mi are the best Banh Mi that I’ve ever had. I believe they have grilled Pork, Ham, Meat Ball, and Pork Belly. My all time favorite is the Pork Belly. Just like other dishes, the restaurant took their time to prep their banh mi. Banh Mi is fresh and crispy. Pork Belly are flavorful, savory, juicy, tender, and addicting!!! I appreciate the fact that they put the veggies and the sauce on the side, so the banh mi wont get soggy. I love that they place banh mi in a styrofoam container, so your banh mi wont get smashed or squished (which happens very often with other places.) Its the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. However, last time I went, I don’t see them putting them in those styrofoam boxes anymore :(( sadddd! Please keep the boxes, they make a big difference! I almost gave up on going to Vietnamese restaurants because they always failed me in the past. I would like a Vietnamese restaurant at the beginning, then after awhile all the restaurants were trying to cut corners and then the quality weren’t the same anymore. Consistency is important when it comes to business, especially restaurants. Cafe Mi Quang has kept their quality consistently. Even though it takes me 40′ drive to get here, I don’t mind as long as the food is great! Please keep up the work, and don’t cut corners. Bring the styrofoam boxes back! We love them!

SGD Tofu House – Menu with Prices – 149-06 41st Ave, Flushing

Okay so I came here , with my good friends from high school a year ago. We ordered the bibimbap over hot stone plate as they wanted to try it as they never did , but I am Korean so I eat bibimbap at home and restaurants a lottt so maybe my expectations were high but when I ate this, I was very disappointed. The rice was like almost crunchy, the veggies were bland, meat portion was so small compared to the price like $14.50 the portion size in general was small. I wasn’t even full after finishing this. I couldn’t taste the seasoning oil, the spice wasn’t there with the paste. It didn’t taste savory at all just tasted like something i can make on my own at home. The waitor tried charging like 2 dollars extra just for an egg my friend wanted. The side dishes were bad except the kimchi. Only 3 side dishes. The tip they asked for on the recepit was high as hell , I remember it was like close to the food price which is insane. I wouldn’t come back here ever again but then again……it is a “tofu house” so maybe i am being too harsh since i didn’t order a tofu dish and bibimbap isn’t their specialty but I feel many non Koreans wanna try things other than the tofu stews as I feel the stews appeal more to older Korean men and women so yea… I wanna give my honest review on the bibimbap.

Kura Revolving Sushi Bar – Menu with Prices – 9659 Milliken Ave suite 104-105, Rancho Cucamonga

Been coming to this sushi place since 2013 when it used to be Kula Revolving Sushi. In comparison, the new and improved Kura is way better! They definitely upgraded their technology and the way the restaurant works. LOVE that they have screens that allow you to order and also the belt. I keep seeing bad reviews in regards to their sushi but I honestly feel the quality and the service far exceed what you pay for. $2.60 per plate is cheap in comparison to other sushi places. Not to mention their hand rolls are AMAZING! They give you the option of using seaweed or rice paper for hand rolls. I will say, this place was hit or miss up until the remodel. Since then, we have only had good experiences at Kura. Oh and the prizes for eating 15 plates are a GREAT WAY TO GET YOUR CHILD TO EAT! Our 10 year old who has been eating there since she was 4 has ventured out into trying rolls and now has a new favorite: Golden Crunchy. We make it a goal to eat at least 15 plates as a family and alternate who get to open the prize.

Sloss Furnaces National Historic Landmark Menu with Prices 20 32nd St N, Birmingham

Everything was even better than the previous year. It seemed to be more vendors there this year. We definitely had some delicious and different gumbo there. I enjoyed the music and the other treats offered. Bellini’s was my all time favorite and I hope they won at least placed. The gumbo was amazing and so was the bread pudding. I love the interaction with all the different people. I was with 5 others friends and family this year and it was a joy to watch them experience the different flavors and taste. Some was reallllllly bad as well and it was quite funny to us all that they even served it there. We were over stuffed by the end. It was just that many tastings there. I enjoyed and can’t wait until next years event.

Reveille Cafe Menu with Prices 9925 Haynes Bridge Rd #640, Alpharetta

We used to come multiple times a week, until the old manager left. The place seems to have gone downhill since then. We have twin toddlers, and for over a year, every time we visit Reveille we have to switch out high chairs because they are broken. And every time we are given the excuse that parents break them when they get their kids out, they “just” replaced them and now they’re broken again, etc. We just left there because they had only one functional high chair in the restaurant, and wanted us to tie one of our twins into another one. This is reckless on their part and completely dangerous for little ones coming to their restaurant. I am never one to leave negative reviews, as I work in the restaurant industry and understand that things happen, but I find this unacceptable. When we are able to eat there the food is great, service is ok.

Chick-fil-A – Menu with Prices – 4655 Lindle Rd, Harrisburg

It actually pains me to support this establishment (for obvious reasons) but damn their food is good. ugh lol I won’t deny that. I tried Chick-fil-A for the first time last year and got the nuggets. I’m not much of a fast food person but I’ll order nuggets from different places. However, lately I’ve been completely obsessed with spicy chicken sandwiches, so I set my fast food beliefs aside and pumped myself up for the spicy deluxe sandwich. Thankfully, I was not disappointed. The moment I opened that box, it just looked perfect. That smooth soft bun was calling me. What was between the sandwich was even better. I would say that they do a great chicken sandwich. It has a good amount of heat, nothing too crazy. Pour some chick-fil-A sauce on that and WOW. That is a great sandwich. Also, I don’t particularly love waffle fries, but their fries are actually good. Nice fluffy fries and not too crunchy. I hate crunchy fries, so I was surprised that these weren’t all crunch. They’re opening a Chick-fil-A in Toronto soon, but it pains me to know that line will be long for dayssssss. Also, Torontonians are a different breed and I can’t imagine how our customer service could even match US chick-fil-A’s. lol There is no way you’re getting a ‘My Pleasure’ after every order in Toronto. lmao

Dave’s Snowballs – Menu with Prices – 13820 Perdido Key Dr, Pensacola

The last time I came to Dave’s Snowball’s 2 weeks ago, the ice was crunchy (snowballs are supposed to be fine Ice) and although I ordered a stuffed snowball there was no ice cream to be found. No biggie, it was a little busy and things happen. Crunchy ice like that was probably from dull blades and it’s a smaller fix. I went today as it was hot as all get out and figured I might as well have a snowball as I sat in traffic going to work. I order a medium in a large cup as to not spill it in my car and boy was I disappointed. The ice was fine this time but the cup is a lump more than half filled. I know places like this get busy but that just really sucks. You want what you pay for and this was certainly not it. The service both times was great however and the snowballs do taste good. Just don’t expect your money’s worth and check to make sure you get what you order. Will not be returning.

GG’S Deli Food – Menu with Prices – 12113 NE Fourth Plain Blvd, Vancouver

GG’s Deli is truly a top notch sandwich, salad, soup eat-in or take-out restaurant with very high quality home cooked style food. GG is the owner and chef and takes great price in what he makes. He treats us customers like family and somehow he remembers the smallest of details for any special requests…no tomatoes/extra pickles every time and I don’t have to say a word! You won’t get that level of service in these penny picking franchise places or at places where employees just don’t have the same passion as an owner/operator. It’s tough to find a high quality deli/restaurant in this area that is consistent and priced very fairly. I highly recommend GG’s Deli. Thank you

CAM ANH DELI RESTAURANT – Menu with Prices – 920 Webster St, Oakland

You’ve got to love a place that is clean and friendly in Oakland Chinatown! Way to go Cam Anh! This food is better than ever and the place looks fresh!. I read the yelp reviews before I went back here and was a bit skeptical of a new restaurant. Rest assured, awesome place just as before. The reviews about the food not being as good are inaccurate, even though this was a legendary place it replaced. The sandwiches, chicken and eggrolls are just as tasty just as before and are good, just like the sandwiches from Cam Huong (yes I still go there too when I’m in that neighborhood). I think Cam Anh opened up about a month ago with the commitment to a little healthier menu — like vegetarian food (I’m not a vegan so can’t comment on the vegan taste, although I do like the notion of a restaurant paying attention to a healthier menu because it makes me feel like they pay attention to the quality of their food). The food is still as good or better than it was, although the menu is not quite as extensive — they do have what I eat. Its still very tasty, reasonable, fast (for the made to order sandwiches), convenient, and the people working there are really nice. You wouldn’t expect a newly opened restaurant to have as extensive a menu as the 35 year old restaurant it replaced, especially as they are settling in — very excited to see how this place developes in a year or two. I also think that the increase in price seems justified given that rents in Oakland have skyrocketed. Come on people, $4.50 for a full tasty sandwich in this day and age, is still a bargain (or maybe you want to try the culinary delights of a subway sandwich or big mac instead, haha) or maybe you haven’t been paying attention to all those places serving $10 hamburgers. Personally, I like the smaller independently owned ethnic restaurants and don’t want to be confined to chain-store franchise driven fast food. Keep it going Cam Anh!!

Eight Hundred Nine Sports Bar – Menu with Prices – 7107 N Nebraska Ave, Tampa

Today was our first chance to give this place a try and we are so glad we did. Claude & I went to lunch, but we sat outside on the front porch enjoying a nice breeze because inside was packed with fans watching the USF Bulls games. Our waitress, Ray (Rachel), was very attentive and told us about her favorites. We both got the Fish n Chips, hand dipped/battered Atlantic cod, nice and crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside without being greasy at all. The tartar sauce is homemade and really good. This was served with crunchy fries and peas. Wonderfully delicious and very attentive service. The manager stopped by to check on us too. They said after the first of the year they will be open for lunch, which we sure welcome. We will be back!
