Trailhead is located at the front of the Pronghorn course. Service is laid-back and friendly! All the Pronghorn employees are genuinely nice and have a great sense of humor. I would consider myself a guest way on the margins of elite golf club society, and I have been treated with nothing but amicable gestures. Trailhead grill serves the typical fare of the hungry and posh golfer– nice booze and american bites with a twist on finer condiments. I can speak to the menu items orderable from the golf cart at the 8th hole or by walking in– The pronghorn burger is a bacon cheeseburger on a kaiser roll. The grillmaster does a fantastic job of cooking the meat to perfection. It says it comes with potato chips, but I have learned that ‘side of potato chips’ is used very lightly . Seems you are able to opt for fruit, salad, or fries as well The fries are bomb diggity… they are savory like straightened curly fries. There is also a chicken ceasar wrap with a twist of cranberries and nuts. I couldn’t bring myself to try it, because the thought of cranberries in the wrap de-railed me. I used my ‘I have a lingering cold’ excuse on it instead…. which is actually true, but I probabaly could have tried it anyways with minimal risk of spreading my germs. My golf enthusiast eating companions seemed to have enjoyed it anyhow. Lastly, the menu offers a hot dog. It seemed odd to me that the wrap and burger descriptions were long and detailed with types of cheese, breads, etc…. but the hot dog was simply described as hot dog with deli mustard on _____ bread. Huh, looks kind of weak when the two other choices above used fat least 80 words to describe it. I also can’t justify spending $10 on a hot dog, when it literally says hot dog. There are other mouth watering descriptions for the dog…. sausage, polish, frank, mixed meat stick… then throw a couple more adjectives in there…. juicy, succulent, scrumptious, appetizing. Boom, at least 20% increase in orders and perhaps one from me. I highly suggest this activity: Order your item at the beginning of the 8th hole, stopping in to Trailhead for a drink or coffee while waiting for the order, grab it to-go, thoughtfully munch on your lunch in the shade while looking out at the greens, and dump that ish into a chief at the beginning of the 9th hole. I’d call that a golfer’s picnic. I rate it three stars because it is right on par with what is to be expected of golf course eatery.

Chuck Lager America’s Tavern – Menu with Prices – 4500 Linden Hill Rd, Wilmington

Visited today for brunch and ordered the Bombolini breakfast burger – which is basically a cheeseburger with fluffy donut buns, fried egg, and sriracha aioli. It comes with fries smothered in syrup with bits of bacon. To get the simple things out of the way, first I’ll say the service was fast and friendly. The burger, however, I will not order again. My interpretation of a fried egg is cooked all the way through.. the yolk was not. I got the burger well done and it was very dry. I got the aioli on the side and it was ok, but I don’t like sriracha. Seems like whoever created this meal thought the aioli would carry the flavor of the burger. Lastly, my least favorite were the fries. It was weird, but kind of made sense in the beginning. I liked it at first but I’m not a fan of the overwhelming smell of maple syrup. About halfway through eating the fries I got an upset stomach. I think the fries were really innovative but it was definitely too sweet and too much sugar.. the meal wasn’t salty sweet like it should have been it was just…. sweet. The sugar on the buns taste like cotton candy, the meat was dry and had no flavor.. I think this meal needs to be revisited by the chef.. The preparation of the burger needs work, but I think maybe substitute the fries for sweet potato fries or something salty. This did not work for me and now my stomach hates me. It was just… odd. I thought the burger would be up my alley because I have a weird obsession with chocolate and sugar, but it’s not something I see anyone else enjoying, unless they love syrup smothered food. I would return and try the lunch/dinner menu and desserts though.

The Rawls Course – Menu with Prices – The Rawls Course at Texas Tech, 3720 4th St, Lubbock

I visited Lubbock yesterday and the first thing I did when I got there was meet my brother at The Rawls Course – Texas Tech’s very own golf club. Neither of us had eaten lunch yet and we were both starving, so we decided to try Jerry’s Grill located inside the clubhouse. I ordered the Stubb’s burger ($6.50) – a 1/3lb. hamburger that’s been grilled with BBQ sauce, melted cheese, and topped with two fried onion rings. It also comes with french fries. Oh man, this burger was good! Succulent patty soaked in Stubb’s very own BBQ sauce. I love the fried onion rings on top because they lend a new crispy texture to every bite. The french fries were crispy and not overly salted. I like that they still had the skin on them. Everything was just.. great! Besides burgers, Jerry’s also has a bunch of fresh sandwiches and salads and earlier in the day, they serve breakfast too. Afterwards, we were supposed to hit some golf balls, but who can play golf after eating all that? That’s why I recommend you play first and eat afterwards. Reward yourself after a long, hot day of golf with an ice cold beverage and one of Jerry’s excellent burgers.

Burgerim Gourmet Burgers – Menu with Prices – 120 W CityLine Dr Suite 600, Richardson

Came for the grand opening and honestly was super disappointed. Waited in line for about like 45 min before opening really hungry and ready to get this free burger and buy some fries and etc. They had like 2 vendors come out and a DJ and had lots of balloons and what not. Finally after waiting in the heat they open the doors at 12:05pm and only let 10 ppl at a time. Me and my bf get inside and we get to “order” and by that I mean they had pre made burgers sitting out and we only got to choose from 2 options the grilled chicken or the regular burger. So now that I didnt get to try the burger I wanted to try ( assuming we could choose any burger since the advertising said free burger.. you would think it would be any of their burgers that you could choose from) we ordered a fries and grabbed our burger from the counter (who knows how long it’s been sitting in the back already made) We sit down the burger is pretty small and super sad. The veggies looked super non existant. I opened the burger and finally found it hiding. The burger was sooo dry and super chewy. Like some frozen patty that you get at your school cafeteria lunch. It was so bad I would not pay like 8 bucks for this. The fries finally came out after we finished our burger and we had to go up there to ask when our fries were done. They had it just sitting up there and no one delivering to our table.. The fries were so small.. and it was like potato chips? It was definitely better than the burgers but still so pricy for the amount of fries and size of it. Also what was really annoying was there was nothing on the table. At least have some napkins… you have to grab everything at a station which was annoying to do when theres a bunch of ppl in the store. Giving 2 stars cause they tried and gave free burgers but honestly this just made me realize why these burger IM have bad reviews and that the quality of these burgers is defin not worth the price. In and out is a million times better than this and cheaper go there instead.

Town Square Eats – Menu with Prices – 206 Broadway, Oakland

Ok..I really enjoyed this place and I will give a reason for the 4 star and that is simply for “consideration.” Your food was awesome. I left a review on Crooked City saying how much I enjoyed the impossible burger..like would get on a plane from Orange County to Oakland, get in an Uber or Lyft, have a burger and cider, get on plane and go back home..that’s how much I loved your burger..thank you. My giving one less star has to do with a situation regarding the truffle chips with the duo of caviar..I asked to have the caviar off as I don’t eat caviar..the person at the counter turned around to ask someone who seemed to be in charge if they should still charge the same and dude looked at me sort of chuckled and I paid $14 for potato chips. Here’s my take..I should have just walked out because laughing at your guests is pretty rude and ballsy..but I was with a friend and we were hanging out having a good time. I chocked it up to a “vacation spend.” But it still bothers me. I paid it..I shouldn’t have.. but a suggestion or two..create a charge for your chips without caviar. They’re still super tasty and people will order them and it’s the right thing to do. You yield to your guest, you do the right thing, you don’t see what you can get away with until someone calls you out.. and you don’t laugh at them and charge them $14 for potato chips. Guest service is and always should be about taking care of the people who support your business not seeing what you can get away with. Also..you could always offer those chips with the dipping cup of onions from the burger and charge accordingly because that *ish was delicious. I’m just saying..please consider the option of a lesser price for no caviar chips..I still love you though.

South Philly Cheesesteaks – Menu with Prices – 1439 Main St, Sarasota

Walked in here and understand they just opened to the public this week. Its an open environment with a cool brick wall on one side, and wooden/steel wall on the other. Nice wooden tables. Our server was friendly and was efficient. We had a few questions and she answered all of them quickly. I didn’t want the grilled onions or hot peppers on my large 10″ cheesesteak and wanted lettuce, tomato, and onion instead. She said no problem, but charged me $1 extra. I also wanted onion rings instead of bagged potato chips or fries and told her I would pay extra, but she said that was not possible, so I went with the fries. We also ordered a Swiss mushroom burger and sweet potato fries, but when it came out, it was with onion rings–very odd (because she originally said onion rings as an upgrade was not possible!). We eventually got our sweet potato fries that we originally ordered and she had the nerve to charge us an extra $3 for the onion rings (that we never did order). It looks like when it comes to upgrades and changes, they are a bit confused, so who knows what’s allowed. The good news is that the cheesesteak was very good tasting, although for a large, it wasn’t that big. You would think a large would be at least a foot long for $11.50. The fries were fresh cut, but tasted a bit off and dry, and they were very dark in color, along with the onion rings. Perhaps they needed to change the oil in their fryer. The sweet potato fries were okay. They also serve beer here at very reasonable prices.

Fuel House Cafe – Menu with Prices – 1144 Hylan Blvd, Staten Island

So time after time we want to have a good experience but it’s not so. Once, we ate in and waitied for food for over 45 minutes. I ordered chicken wings and they were the worse wings I’ve had in my life. Turned out that they were breaded. The waitress had no idea. I wanted to eat gluten free food but that didn’t happen. The wings were also covered in fat. Next time, I ordered a Cuban wrap and a side order of sweet potato fries but instead they delivered some chilli fries. Today, we are busy cleaning and decided once again to order from Fuel so called ‘healthy place.’ Ordered a Cuban wrap for my 5 year old and myself. His and my wrap had rotten lettuce in it. Need I say more? This is our last time giving this place a chance.

Shake Shack Menu with Prices 3030 Washtenaw Ave #107, Ann Arbor

The flavor of the meat itself was quite good and unlike almost any other, even from places that specialize in hamburgers. I got a double this time because the last few times I went I was disappointed. The person taking my order suggested a double and she was right. It’s much better than a single which is my standard. The burger is very rich, a little heavy really. The Shack sauce is bland and oily. They serve the burger in a way that makes it a mess – the bun is small and not cut completely through, the meat and condiments are therefore wedged into one side and the whole thing is then placed into a half sized burger bag that is supposed to serve as a wrap but only covers one side. It’s a mess and everyone there was getting it all over their hands. It’s just pretentious nonsense. They also put lettuce and tomato on their standard burger, but the amount is paltry – about half of what would be standard in a diner, less even than the big three national burger chains. The french fries were crinkle cut and done very well. I like crinkle cut fries so that was good. The price was high. $12 for a double cheeseburger and fries. The flavor of the meat itself was quite good, but if you don’t get a double you’re going to miss it because it’s subtle. I don’t think it’s bad, but I’m really missing the reason for all of the hype. I guess I didn’t have a milk shake. Perhaps people like it because what they really want is dessert for lunch but they aren’t willing to admit it, so they talk about the burger instead? I must admit, the pretentiously inconvenient lopsided presentation of the hamburger really turned me off. I immediately disassembled mine in order to make it less of a mess, but the patties were stuck together in a tilted mess, and that made it impossible to get it straight, so I gave up. Poor value, poor presentation, excessively heavy and oily. I know people like greasy burgers and abundance, but this was too much for me, and the high price put the finishing touch on my opinion of Shake Shack – overrated. Not bad, but not living up to the hype.

Daniel Island Park Club – Menu with Prices – 715 Island Park Dr, Daniel Island

I had the opportunity to dine and go to a few events at the D.I. club and enjoyed it thoroughly. But I am only going to review the golf experiences I have had there, as this review would soon resemble a novel, if I were to put to words how enjoyable the clubs other attributes are. The 18 hole “Ralston Creek” is an exciting 18 hole regulation course, where you need to step up your game a notch, if not these 2 courses will cut you in half.. From the longest tees, the course plays to about 7,446 yards of golf for a par of 72, that my friends is about current U.S.OPEN length, with a lower slope rating though.course rating is 74.4 with a slope rating of 134. The Nationwide tour still hosts an event here and truthfully, if there were the room for bleachers, concessions and transportation. With a few weeks work to narrow the fairways and toughen up the greens, I believe the PGA could host an event here, it is that good. The course was designed by Rees Jones and opened in 2006. The 18-hole “Beresford Creek” course at the Daniel Island Club features 7,093 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72 . This is the older of the two courses and opened around 2000.The course rating at Beresford Creek is 74.4 and it has a slope rating of 134, so it plays shorter, but no less difficult.

Burgermaster Menu with Prices 10606 Northup Way, Bellevue

I finally got to try Burgermaster after driving past it almost everyday from work and wondering why there are so many people there at all times during the day. I can now see why this place is popular. I like the old school feel of the place- you park your car and someone comes up to your car and gets your order. It is definitely a nice change from going through your typical drive thru. The service was great and the food came out promptly. You have the option of either eating in (in your car) or getting it to go. In terms of food- I ordered the Mushroom Burger and added onions. The burger tastes homemade and despite the fact that it is a fast food place, it tasted fresh and reminded me of taste of a burger when you grill it in your backyard. The fries were very good- nice and crispy, not overly salted, great potato flavor (I know that is a silly description, but some fries taste overly seasoned and you can’t taste the potato as well). If I had anything to compare Burgermaster with, it would maybe be Five Guys burgers. I can easily seeing myself coming here for some good burgers, fries, and milkshakes. No nonsense, simple, but tasty.

Chevy Chase Country Club – Menu with Prices – 3067 E Chevy Chase Dr, Glendale

What a surprise this was! A very nice little bar area, nice people working. And a truly impressive food and drink menu to boot. The house burger was very impressive and delicious, as were my boys’ BLT sandwiches. The buffalo fries were a bit meh, mostly because it was an uninspired squirt of sauce and a sprinkle of blue cheese over very mediocre fries. Some great choices on the beer tap and a nice selection of drinks over all, and our cocktail was very well made. All accompanied with the gorgeous view of the golf course. So one big strike is the smoking issue. Its a private club, so surely that’s why the golfers, and apparently just guys sitting around, can enjoy their cigars at their leisure, despite it being a restaurant, open to the public. It was annoying and we moved inside. Really too bad because it was so wonderful outside. But, again, its probably the private club aspect of the place, so not holding this against them. The prices are higher that you might like but some things were worth it. The burger was worth $18. It was. Not any more, but I’d order that again. If the buffalo fries had not come with the burger, they would have been $6, I believe. It might sound odd, but they were not even worth that. BUT… the positives do outweigh the negative. We’ll be back for sure.

Mr. Brews Taphouse – Menu with Prices – 220 Ruccio Way Suite 110 Suite 110, Lexington

Let me be clear and say that I am reviewing the food and not the beer here. I did not imbibe on my visit today. First, I really like the small atmosphere here. You have a feeling going in that it’s small enough that you’re going to get great service, and you do. Our server was excellent. Drinks were refilled before hitting level zero. She was all over it. My wife went with the All American burger, my son with the California burger, my daughter with chicken tenders, and I went with the Ragin’ Cajun Chicken sandwich. We had a variety of potato based sides, including fries, Parmesan fries, and Parmesan chips. How was it all? It was decent. It was good, not great. The burgers were, in my opinion, under-seasoned and uninspired. They were just good. The same could be said with the chicken sandwich I had and the chicken tenders. The fries were, well, soggy, and the Parmesan seasoning didn’t really help there. Now, if your thing is a ton of craft beers, this might well be the place for you. But I’m about food first and beer second. I’ll take great food and a Coors Light in a bottle any day of the week. There are better burger places in the city, such as Bad Wolf. In the end, I left a U.S. Grant poorer and a little disappointed.

Jazenaes Menu with Prices 75 Central Ave, Albany

If there was on option for 0 stars I would use it. Ordered through Uber eats, a pretty reliable service on most occasions. Typically the food comes in a sealed “Uber eats” paper bag, to provide the sense of security to know your delivery driver hasn’t tampered with the food. This order came in a regular plastic shopping bag. I ordered an Italian mix sub which according to their menu includes “lettuce tomato onion,” it didn’t come with any veggies on it. Just meat bread and mayonnaise. The meat was warm and the bun was like biting into an old sun scorn foam pool toy. The fries that came with it were soggy and cold, just how everyone likes them… Also ordered a buff chick wrap, this was actually pretty good. Also ordered fries with that and was pleasantly surprised to find off brand potato chips soaking up the moisture from the steam trapped in the container. Doing great. The onion rings were actually delicious, and hot, probably cooked after everything else as the delivery was on its way out. Uber eats is also known for being very fast, I placed my order at 8, was supposed to arrive by 830, didn’t show up til 9. Not a huge deal just noteable. Overall I would advise to spend your money elsewhere because these people clearly don’t care about the quality of their food or service.
