I have nothing but good things to say about this restaurant. I never knew it existed until my Mom wanted Greek food for her birthday dinner. She traveled 3 hours to get to Frisco for it! It has a total Greek vibe to it. As soon as you walk in, the decor, the cute little “store” and pastry goodies. A man I assumed was the owner, greeted me while I was checking out the cookies. I checked out the menu beforehand but changed my selection once we were there. There are actually a few things plant based persons can eat. I ordered the Falafel Pita and a cup of Lentil Soup. Both of these items were full of flavor and I scarfed up every bite! My companion got the Red Snapper (Sinagrida), they warned it would take 20 min to cook as it’s so thick. It was huge and filled up the plate, he ordered the potatoes and rice as sides and ate everything! Mom got a small Greek salad and a spitz-something. :). It looked like a flaky pastry burrito stuffed with cheese and something green, topped with Feta. Again, it was all devoured. Dad ordered the variety plate that had a little bit of everything. Yum! Sis got something that resembled a chicken kabob or satay, she loved it but Dad finished it up for her. Brother got something that looked like shaved beef and a side of some noodle-y, cheesy casserole. I didn’t hear any complaints but didn’t see him finish it. The staff was so friendly, our server was Emilio M. Very nice and helpful for people who don’t typically eat Greek food. I also got the sparking water from Greece (Souroti) and it was super good! Mom & Dad ordered some of their dressing to take home. We will probably go here again since we live close by. A nice mid week treat!!!

Noodle World Vietnamese Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 4909 17 Ave SE, Calgary

Five stars for the satay pho and the new satay pho with coconut milk! Was told to come here when a friend knew I was going to Calgary. He recommended that I have their satay pho and I would like it. Upon looking at their menu, I wasn’t sure whether it was the 20a satay pho or 20b satay pho with coconut milk. Two of my friends ordered the satay pho w coconut (choice of beef, chicken or seafood). I ordered the regular one (w seafood). My other friend ordered fried wontons to start. Upon recieving my food, mine looked underwhelming compared the the coconut milk one. Mine look less rich and less satay. But both were amazing and rich in their broths! The regular satay pho has a lighter and more clear taste, no satay and barely any peanuts or if they had any? The pho satay w coconut milk was thicker and richer in flavor. You can taste the satay, peanut and shrimp paste, delicious! As for the fried wonton, it was actually really good! I’m not sure what was inside, looks like some sort of cooked fish paste or a blend of seafood and meat combined into a paste, but they were delicious. I want to eat here before I leave or when I come visit again, to come back and order again.

The Naughty Greek – Menu with Prices – 2400 University Ave W, St Paul

First time here. Recommended by a friend. Friday night at 7:00. Maybe we were there on a bad night? Our table of 4 ordered some apps and entrees. Lemon and hot chicken wings: terrible! No meat, undercooked and greasy. Skin and bones. Inedible. Spinach pie: nice! Fluffy pastry with sesame seeds in top. Nice spinach filling. They did that right. Zucchini crisps: nice! Crispy, not greasy. Served with tzatziki sauce. Very good sauce and nice crisps. Chicken pita plate: nice fluffy pita but the pita was ruined by the chicken. When we went up to order the employee mentioned they “were out of chicken” but then said it would be 15 minutes and they would have more available. I was a little hesitant but ordered the pita plate anyway. Who runs out of chicken on a Friday night? The plate came out with little dried up chicken pieces, some red onion, and two tomato slices. The fries were average. Nothing special. I’m curious why they don’t serve lamb gyros? Overall, it was poor quality for the price. Not returning. We will stick with our other Greek restaurants that serve consistent good food and lamb gyros.

Lucky’s Thai Pantry – Menu with Prices – 934 N Tustin St, Orange

Let me say first…this is not a new place per se, as someone else mentioned. They were in another location, and moved here some time ago. Maybe a year. So the “bugs” in their systems should have been fixed long ago. We stopped in here for the first time for dinner on a weeknight. We each ordered Pad Thai with chicken, and an order of pork satay. The pork satay is supposed to be an appetizer. It didn’t come out for quite some time, so I asked about it. The server said “it’s being made right now”. Right then, our Pad Thai (main course entree) arrived, and it was delicious! Usually you get sides of various spices and sauce with Pad Thai, but they didn’t offer it. Kind of disappointing, but each place is different. After we were done with dinner, I figured they had forgotten about the pork satay. Nope, as we were getting up to ask for the check, the pork satay finally arrived at the table! We ended up taking it home with us; even re-heated it was delicious. Tonight we decided to try their online order process. We got the same items again; you’d think we’d learn! Two Pad Thai with chicken, and an order of pork satay. The order was supposed to be ready in 35 minutes. My husband went to pick it up at the designated time; nothing was ready. He was told “the pork satay is not cooked yet. If you want chicken, you can have that right away, otherwise you’ll have to wait.” So if I ordered it online, and the order was supposed to be READY IN THIRTY FIVE MINUTES, why had they not even started cooking part of it? Ultimately it took them over an hour to get the order ready. When my husband got home, and we unpacked the order, the pork satay turned out to be CHICKEN. He had to wait 1/2 hour for them to cook the pork and they gave him chicken. The worst part was the fact that the chicken satay was…..RAW. It had grill marks on the outside, but taking a bite, it was completely raw inside. We put it in the microwave to finish cooking. Just absolutely NO EXCUSE for serving raw chicken. I initially gave them 3 stars, but raw chicken gets them one. I called and spoke with someone there; she checked with the person who did the cooking; came back and told me “that was not chicken, it was pork”. Seriously, I can tell the difference between chicken and pork, especially when I’ve had their pork satay before. She offered to give us a free satay next time. I just hope they cook it.

Shop-N-Go Dave’s Neighborhood Market – Menu with Prices – 1702 E 1700 S, Salt Lake City

10 Things About Shop & Go: 10. They’ve got everything and anything you could need stocked there. Except pie crusts. That’s the one thing I’ve heard that they don’t have. 9. It’s a small space, so it may look impossible that they’ll have what you need. But the people working there are helpful. 8. They have fountain sodas. Very important to me, anyways. 7. They have self-serve frozen yogurt. 6. They have gas that’s cheaper than the Chevron across the street. 5. It took less than a week for them to get to know me. 4. They have a nice selection of beer. I think it’s decently priced, but I’m new to SLC too. 3. It’s very easy to get in and out of. 2. Dave’s brother & friend grill up lunches every Saturday, from noon until “three-ish.” There’s LOTS of food to be eaten. 1. Today it was Greek. Greek burger with feta, grilled vegetables and Tzatziki with a side of hummus & pita chips, Greek salad AND spanakopita. I can’t wait for next Saturday.

Brother’s Grill – Menu with Prices – 5900 N Kings Hwy Unit G, Myrtle Beach

Although you might not expect it from the outside, Brother’s Grill serves up delicious, authentic Greek food. When I first told my girlfriend we were going here, she thought we were at the wrong place since it is decorated like a sports bar with some Italian paintings. We were quickly seated by our waitress, who was bubbly and enhanced our dining experience. We ordered a chicken gyro and a traditional gyro and an appetizer of barbecue chicken wings. The wings came with about 14 pieces and they were cooked and seasoned perfectly. You couldn’t ask for better chicken wings. My girlfriend is Greek and we have eaten at countless Greek restaurants up and down the east coast, and those gyros were by far the best. The pita was warm and substantial enough to hold together the fillings without being tough or crunchy. The traditional gyro meat seemed to be a beef/lamb blend with an even sear around each piece. The chicken was juicy and well seasoned. The tzaziki was undoubtedly life changing. Often tzaziki is inauthentic and watery but this yogurt based condiment was the perfect addition to the gyros (we even ordered extra to dip the fries and wings in!). Our server went out of her way to accommodate our to go order of chicken orzo soup despite them being out of containers. Additionally, two ladies came in for $2 tequila shots and ordered what might be the most appetizing and largest burger we have ever seen. We look forward to trying the ultimate burger and coming back for dinner and saganki! A perfect meal for a 100° Myrtle Beach day.

Athena Greek Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 1601 W SW Loop 323, Tyler

Food is fine, if not good, but you certainly don’t go for the ambience/cheerful service. Food was fast, pricing was about $11 for the chicken souvlaki. This came with the best Greek salad to start. Tons of feta, yummy Greek dressing. Could have benefitted from more olives and red onion but this was my favorite part of the meal. Minutes later, my entree came out. Extremely lackluster. 2 well seasoned chicken skewers. They were so tender, I had to cut into them to make sure they weren’t pink in the middle. Alas they were not; but made me nervous. Served with 2 measly pita pieces that weren’t warm plus some white rice with salty brown gravy and a side of tzatziki. Wish there had been some veggies on the stark white plate with white food. And more pita!! I would get something else next time. The pitas looked good.

Kalita Grill Greek Cafe – Menu with Prices – 2426 Arapahoe Ave, Boulder

Honestly, the best Greek/gyros I’ve ever had. Reasonable prices, filling portions, and great quality. A friend recommended this place almost a year ago and we only recently (like within the last 2 months) tried it. After the first visit, we came back again just a few days later. Since then, we’ve eaten here almost weekly. I was motivated to finally write this review because my partner texted me that they were picking up Kalita Grill on the way home from the climbing gym… we literally just ate here Tuesday night (it’s Saturday). I don’t know how they do it, but everything we’ve had so far is heads-and-shoulders above any we’ve had in the past. The chicken souvlaki, gyro meat, falafel, babaghanoush, the greek salad (don’t get me started on this!), even the *regular* fries — all delicious. Spanakopita got high marks from my partner, who is a fiend for spanakopita + all things containing puff pastry. Even the rice, decidedly not the main attraction, on the gyro plate is better than any other rice I’ve ever had. It’s always perfectly cooked, never too al dente or too soft. It’s not that this place has like a groundbreaking twist on Greek — it’s just that everything tastes fresh, real, and made with high quality ingredients. Quality is so above the Boulder standard! Get the bougatsa to treat yourself to something awesome. Don’t make the mistake I did and miss out on months of delicious food — go now.

Athena Express – Menu with Prices – 2133 Kaliste Saloom Rd, Lafayette

Best Greek food in Lafayette hands down! You’d be surprised, but this is the best gas station food I have ever eaten! It is my go to when I’m not feeling something fried. It’s very fresh and the employees are sure to pile your plate with food. I always order the Chicken Salad with the dressing on the side. I feel like they drench it in too much dressing, so I like to do it myself. The portions are big enough to eat for two meals. Which I usually do that. If you’re looking for good Greek food then this is the place to go!! I guarantee you will not be disappointed. I will definitely be back!

Kanona Cafe Menu with Prices 1142 NW Galveston Ave, Bend

My boyfriend and I stopped here while visiting Bend. We got coffee, an açaí bowl, avocado toast, and a pastry. We got the food immediately but the coffee took a while so I went in to check on it. The guy at the counter was REALLY nice. When he brought the coffee out it was not what we ordered, I also reminded him about the pastry we ordered. Again, he was very nice. He came back with our coffee, our pastry, and 2 more pastries for us! He apologized again. We weren’t at all upset but he still went out of his way to make us happy! It was obvious that there must have been someone new/in training working at the register when we ordered. Which that guy was very nice as well! The food was good but the customer service was VERY impressive

Stephano’s Greek & Mediterranean Grill – Menu with Prices – 10612 S Eastern Ave, Henderson

Everytime I drive by Stephano’s on Eastern, I think I’m going to try it one day. Well the day finally arrived. We got to Stephano’s around 7:30PM and since they were going to close at 8PM we decided to get our orders to go. So this review is mainly about the food, although I can say that the cashier was pretty personable and the staff seemed pretty attentive. The interior of the restaurant is like a mix of sit down and fast food. In other words you order like you would at a Wahoo’s, pay, they give you a table marker, you find your own seating, and someone from the staff finds you and drops off your food when it’s ready. Interior looked clean and spacious. Anyways here’s what we ordered and what we thought: -Chicken Shawerma Plate – The chicken was good and tender. It was seasoned and had a hint of curry or something similar. Rice pilaf was standard issue nothing to write home about. The Israeli Salad reminded me of Mexican salsa except that it was more tangy and not spicy. I thought it was okay The hummus was….???….it was hummus. I’m not a big fan of hummus so I didn’t really finish most of it. I’m sure if you’re a tree hugging, yoga practicing, avocado toast eating person then this hummus was the bee’s knees. (What does that even mean? Do bees have knees? If they do what’s so awesome about them that warrants a saying after them?) Wheat pita bread tasted like a thick tortilla. -Beef and Lamb Gyro – This plate was identical in components as the Chicken Swarma plate with the difference being the meat. My girl said the beef and lamb were tasty. Seasoned well, moist, and not tough. She thought it was a good selection. Like me she wasn’t a big fan of hummus even though she likes avocado toast. Go figure? -Half Chicken Plate – Again the side items were the same as the Chicken Shawerma, but the chicken was actually the bone-in grilled pieces. The chicken tasted fine, but I would say the grilled chicken from El Pollo Loco tastes better, grilled better, and has a better flavor in the seasoning department. -Baklava – This pastry wasn’t bad. Pretty sweet. Had some flavors that reminded me of pecans? It came free since we used the Yelp check-in. The baklava reminded me of the pastries you’d eat with coffee at fancy-smancy places that have doilies under the tea cup plates. Speaking of tea cup plates what was the point of the tea cup plate? You pour in some milk or sugar into your tea/coffee, stir the mixture around then take out the spoon and set it on the plate? Just leave in the cup like a real American! Anyways I’m getting off track… The meals came with Tzatziki sauce which was tangy and white. Also Garlic Sauce which was a blend of garlic and olive oil. I really enjoyed this garlic sauce and had it with the chicken. It help make the chicken more garlic-y and flavorful. Overall I thought the food was A-Okay, not terrible, but I can’t honestly say I’m a fan. Keep in mind I’m not a real Greek & Mediterranean food connoisseur so I probably didn’t do the food justice by fully appreciating all the subtle flavors and textures. Check it out if you are a Greek foodie and like hummus since the place might be up your alley. https://youtu.be/IpFJ4WxspDc

Restaurante Honduras La Pasadita – Menu with Prices – 201 S Belt Line Rd #101, Irving

We’re from Chicago, IL…I was in TX last week visiting my brother. My husband being from Honduras searched on Yelp for Honduran food. We found this small joint and decided to check it out. When we arrived, there was only 1 car in the parking lot so I thought the food mustn’t be so great I was so very wrong! As an appetizer they serve fried beans with tortilla chips. We finished it in 60 seconds and they brought us more. I ordered the juicy and perfectly cooked carne asada (steak) with fried plantains and it comes with fried beans, rice, salad, and a slice of cheese. To drink I ordered an horchata (rice milk) that was so tasty and refreshing . My husband ordered the same dish as me but ordered the fried green bananas instead (delicious!) with a banana soda. My son ordered a baleada which is the typical street food in Honduras. It’s a HUGE folded flour tortilla with fried beans, cheese, and Honduran sour cream. You can also add scrambled eggs, avocado, or meat as well. He added scrambled eggs and loved it! you can ask for the sour cream on the side so you can taste it because it has a different flavor than regular sour cream. My brother ordered the friend plantains with ground beef and cabbage on top, squeeze lime juice on it and WOW! (Mouth watering). My sister in law ordered the 3 chicken flautas dinner, those fried tacos were huge and this was their first time trying out Honduran food and they were very impressed with the flavors. The prices are reasonable. The server was very nice and friendly we told her to thank the cook (Erica) for such a delicious dinner. We’ve visited a couple of Honduran restaurants in Chicago but none have even come close to this one. We had to go back on our last day in TX It was really that good! Oh and by the way, the restaurant filled up pretty quickly on both days we were there. My brother said he will definitely be going back for more. Lucky guy!

Effie’s Kitchen Menu with Prices 37 Poplar St, Boston

I regret not trying this place sooner because it’s close to my house and I usually have to drive far to get decent food. Went there for the first time and had a pork gyro & chicken souvlaki plate. The plate was $13.50 and came with rice pilaf, a greek salad, pita bread & 2 chicken kabobs. Pita was grilled and absolutely delicious. Kabobs were smaller than most places but tasted good. Greek salad & dressing were good and I was impressed at the freshness because most places I go to give me wilted lettuce or dried up cukes/onions. The rice pilaf was the only thing I was not a fan of. It tasted like the Middle East one they sell at grocery store..under seasoned. The gyro I thought was really good..overflowed with pork (a little greasy but good) tomatoes, onions, tzatziki & fries (normally I hate fries in my gyro but these were good.) Overall, I liked the food and will be returning..probably to try a chicken souvlaki gyro. The prices are high in my opinion especially for the dinner plate. I considered trying a baklava but it was $3.75+ tax for a very small piece. Their menu is small but has most Greek staples. Service here was not particularly welcoming..it was obvious it was our first time there but the lady was short with us and only took our order. We were the only 2 people in there and not a word was spoken the whole 20 minutes which I find unusual for mom & pops places. Maybe next time..
