As you can see from the photos the place is really current modern and clean. The staff was really very nice, and the food looks really great, and then I sit down hoping for great flavor however the regular slice of pizza was lacking good flavor and I was very disappointed with the square slice while the dough its self was nice and light however the sauce and cheese sauce were watery it was a nice experience however I would not go back

Hungry Howie’s Pizza Menu with Prices 3395 Plymouth Rd, Ann Arbor

This was my first time trying Hungry Howie’s and I had a great experience. The inside of the restaurant is very clean and as other reviews reiterate, the customer service here is fantastic. The workers were very pleasant and quick to serve right as I walked in the door. In terms of taste, I think you get more than you pay for. I ordered a medium well done pie. The pizza felt somewhere in between a Little Caesar’s and Chuck e Cheese pizza in all the best ways possible. This is definitely a go to option if you’re looking for a reliable fast food slice that gives you a bang for your buck. The cheese was nice and caramelized and where this chain shines is definitely their sauce; it is the true star in the pizza box. The cheese is on the lighter side and the crust is closer to loaf style without being too doughy like Little Caesar’s. While I have had better chain restaurant pizzas, between service and flavor, I have no complaints and only good things to say. This is perhaps the best dollar/slice to flavor ratio around. Try this location out and see for yourself!

Farmhouse Pizza – Menu with Prices – 1813 Laurens Rd, Greenville

My boyfriend and i have been wanting to try this restaurant for awhile, however we were very disappointed with the product. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and our appetizer was the fried cheese. The crust was very flimsy toppings falling off with every bite and very greasy ,my boyfriend used 3 to 4 napkins on his slice. The dough and crust had no flavor or crisp and a lot of sauce at the top which sauce is average at best. Our server was nice but very absent, I know we came around closing but she hardly checked on us and asked us if we wanted refills when we were already done eating so we just got one to go. When we arrived we asked for a booth and the hostess gave us a hard time due to them closing soon. Honestly this place is overpriced. You pay sidewall /Grimaldi pizza prices for a pizza 3′ inches smaller than theirs. If you’re looking for a great New York style pizza go to Grimaldi’s.

Cusatos Menu with Prices 605 New Scotland Ave #1, Albany

Cusatos makes the most magnificent cheese calzone!  I seriously cannot remember having one from anywhere that is better. Additionally, when I ordered extra sauce on the side of the calzone, Cusatos gave me a TON (I am used to a dinky ketchup packet’s worth of “extra sauce” with all food items these days).  The calzones are massive and heat up wonderfully, I can get several meals out of one. The dough/cheese consistency is perfect and the cheese is well dispersed throughout (the ends are cheese and dough, NOT just dough).  They are super reasonably priced and given their massive size, a great value.  I have had 2 so far and they pass the consistency test as they were identical in taste/size/amounts of extra sauce included (I’m not a fan of getting something, loving it, and then having it be different the next time I order the same thing – thankfully Cusatos food is consistent).  I ordered via the online ordering tool and the process from order to pickup was flawless.  In addition their eatery is clean and the staff are great (excellent cooks (obviously) and very kind).  I highly recommend Cusatos!!!

The Bigg Chill – Menu with Prices – 10850 W Olympic Blvd, Los Angeles

Found this place through yelp and was so excited to try this place because lately I’m obsessed with cookie dough!! They have so much variety of cookie dough flavors so I had to go! The place is super retro neon which is super cute. The owner is super nice and let us sample different flavors of the frozen yogurt which was not bad I like the classic vanilla and the cookie butter. I ordered a small size cup, you can have two yogurt flavors but I only chose classic vanilla. For toppings you have to pay extra. 2$ for 3 toppings I chose the chocolate chip cookie dough, peanut cookie dough and crushed Oreos. Sadly I was pretty disappointed that they don’t offer samples for the cookie dough, but other places do. My boyfriend ordered the espresso frozen yogurt with sugar cookie dough, mint chips and cheesecake bits. I was very disappointed with the cookie dough! The quality was really bad the cookie dough was not smooth at all and it tasted old and churchy not because of the chocolate chip. The peanut cookie dough was worst the peanuts were really stale. I did not like their cookie dough at all I just ate the frozen yogurt with the crushed Oreos. They should let customers to try the cookie dough before getting it. What made me threw the rest of my ice cream away was when the froyo was starting to melt, I saw a separation of the froyo and watery yellow liquid it was gross. The price was also disappointing as well for 2 smallest container of frozen yogurt with toppings is $14, 7$ each. It is overpriced for the bad quality I’m getting. I don’t think I will be coming bad. 2 stars because the service was pretty good.

Rosati’s Pizza – Menu with Prices – 4425 S Mountain Rd Unit 101, Mesa

First time Rosati Pizza customer. I called in an order over the phone. The order process was simple and quick. This is a new pizzeria location adjacent to our neighborhood, and only .7 miles away from my house. I wanted to try a few styles of pizza to see if this would be a frequently visited place for us. I placed an order for a thin crust 18″ pepperoni, a 14″ deep dish pepperoni, a 14″ stuffed pepperoni, and a 12″ cheese pizza. The total was $70.72. My son picked up the pizzas. Mike the owner said if there was any issues with the pizzas let him know directly. The pizzas were all beautifully displayed, cut fully through side to side, and boxed well. I had a piece of each pie the moment they arrived. What I noticed immediately was the very distinct differences in the boldness of flavor of the herbs and spices, and the dough flavors between them. The thin crust of course had a crisper bottom to it then the others. The seasoning was very bold on this pizza and quite flavorful and very delicious. The crust didn’t exhibit the flavor the deep dish or stuffed did due to the thinness of it and the completeness of the baking process. The sauce was robust, the cheese was flavorful. However I didn’t feel there was enough pepperoni, nor did the pepperoni exhibit much flavor. Overall I felt between all of the pizzas this was by far the best due to its overall robust flavor from the sauce, herbs/spices and cheese. The deep dish style pizza the crust was baked a smidge to long for my own personal taste, but by no means over-baked. The crust had good mild but sweet flavor to it, and also had a light fluff to it but still dense. A combination very unusual to hit and master in a pizza bake. Most crusts do not exhibit much flavor at all. The crust rise on the back edge was the perfect height and thickness. The herb/spice addition was no where near the flavor of the thin crust. At least a 50% increase in herb/spice would have put it close to the bold flavor the thin crust had. The whole pieces of tomato in the sauce were a good match to it but could have used more sauce. Cheese was flavorful. Once again I felt the pepperoni was lacking in quantity and without much flavor. Overall a pretty decent pie, a fairly rounded flavor but on the mild side. The stuffed pizza was very similar in everything to the deep dish as described above. The main difference was the extra flavor arising from the layers of dough between the ingredients and how they hit your palate. Their wasn’t to me a tremendous amount more of dough versus the deep dish just the thickness of the dough bake layers. The cheese pizza had great flavor just like the thin crust pepperoni did. The cheese they use does have really great flavor to it. Synopsis: deep dish and stuffed need much more herbs/spices to compensate for the extra dough involved in them versus the thin crust. The pepperoni quantity should be increased by nearly 25%+. Based on the cost of the pizzas this certainly should be easily doable. Due to the cost of the pizzas if the main ingredient quantity isn’t increased I don’t feel the value is there. Dough by no means is expensive to create. Was it a pretty decent pizza, yes. Worth the cost at the current main ingredient to dough ratio, not in my opinion.

Blu’s Barbeque & BBQ Catering – Menu with Prices – 17630 Preston Rd, Dallas

Really excited to have a great new BBQ place nearby. I stopped in for a late lunch today and just getting out of my car I was met with the delicious aroma of freshly smoked BBQ and I knew if it tasted half as good as it smelled I was in for a treat. The meat is cut to order (and weighed) in front of you and the guys are very conscious of your preferences (lean, moist, etc) and making sure you don’t get a single gram less than you’re paying for. I tried the 5 cheese Mac and cheese for my side and it was good and a generous portion. I’m a bit of a Mac and cheese snob so while I liked it I do think there’s room for improvement. It was creamy and cheesy but it was a bit bland. I’m thinking it could benefit from some pepper and seasoning salt, maybe a sharper cheddar. It just needed something to amp up the flavor. Don’t pass on it though, it’s still very good. They also had a bacon jalapeño Mac and cheese that looked great so I’ll try it that one next time. The brisket was so tender and juicy I didn’t need the knife I grabbed. Great flavor and didn’t *need* sauce but it was a good compliment to it. The regular sauce and the spicy sauce were both good. The spicy sauce wasn’t all that spicy and a 3rd option of a super spicy would be a nice addition. The dining area was very clean and a nice size. It’s not huge and it kind of gave me the feel of that small town place that all the locals know about. And they were playing Texas Country which was a smart choice! The staff was so, so, so nice. There wasn’t salt and pepper on the tables or the sauce stand (I personally think there should be) but I asked for pepper and the gentleman at the register happily got me some. I’ll be back again! Hoping they add turkey to their regular selections (selfishly) because I’m sure its awesome.

Pie Peddlers Bakery – Menu with Prices – 300 S 6th St #104, Waco

I hit up Pie Peddlers in Waco for a bit of mid-afternoon sugar & caffeine. A slice of quite sweet buttermilk pie & a cup of richly flavored, robust coffee hit the $6 mark. Counter staff were smiling, friendly, and efficient. Crust in the pie was quite thin & baked very crispy. It was not a flake crust that I discerned, but rather a very thin (1/16″ ish), very dense, pretty brittle, not crumbly, dough crust. Eaten by itself, the crust offered up a neutral taste with overtones of sweetness. The buttermilk pie filling carried for me only a sweet flavor, no particularly distinguishing flavor notes besides that. Its texture was distinctly granular, bordering on being crystalline. The filling was also very moist with tiny pockets of sweet liquid (watery sugar syrup) settled along the bottom crust of the slice. So this was a *very* sweet slice of pie. The top of the filling was somewhat of a hybrid between the two finishes I’ve found on buttermilk pie: (1) a thin layer of cake crumb like baked crust or (2) a torched creme brulee caramelized sugar plating. Pie Peddlers’ top was more at the creme brulee topping, but softer, more resilient, nearly sponge cake buoyancy at the point of the slice. That resilience became firmer & firmer toward the outer crust, until it was very much in line with being a creme brulee caramelized topping at the outer edge. So if pie is your game and you’re near Waco, hit up the friendly folks at Pie Peddlers for some really, really good pie.

HAKUNA MATATA PIZZA CUBANA – Menu with Prices – 395 E 10th St, Hialeah

Let’s start by saying that this is Not a restaurant, but rather, a take out pizza place. If you wish to sit and eat there you better pray there is no one else there as the only sitting possibility is limited to 4, maybe 5. We ordered 3 personal pizzas of which they messed up on one of them and had to redo, which I don’t understand since we were the only customers there at the time. The pizzas barely, barely had any sauce, to the point that I can dare say it didn’t have any. Pizza 1~ cheese: well cooked. but this pizza was bread and cheese only, no sauce. My wife lifted the majority of the cheese looking for the sauce, the dough was dry light pink, but no sauce was present. Pizza 2~ ham & bacon: the dough was cooked, but the ham and bacon were halfway cooked. It was edible, but it definitely needed more oven time. Sauce was present, but very little in the center only. Pizza 3~ bacon & pineapple: first time, they got the order wrong; they made it with bacon only, no pineapple. The second time, they made it correctly, but it was waaayyy undercooked. The bacon was mostly raw. My wife was grossed out and did not even attempt to eat it! Mind you, this was her pizza. I was going to have them cook it more, but my wife stopped me as she was grossed out and was going to throw it away regardless. I dissected the pizza looking for sauce, found pinkish dough towards the center. We had 2 ice cream milkshakes, which were not bad. We will not be returning!

Mamma Lucia – Menu with Prices – 9650 Main St, Fairfax

Atmospherically, it’s just a walk-up counter with plenty of adjacent seating. Nothing fancy – certainly not if you’re searching for a nice sit down meal – but convenient if you’re leaving the movies or if you just want a quick bite. I’ve eaten here three times, and each time my experience was more or less the same. The pizza is NY style ($2.80 / slice) in the sense that it’s super thin, but that’s about it. A good slice should have a little bit of flop, but remain firm enough that you don’t need two hands to eat it. You shouldn’t have to hold the slice high above your mouth and attack it like a retarded pizza shark, but alas, at Mamma Lucia’s you will. The sauce is incredibly bland, and the cheese is far from the higher-quality mozzarella’s you might find elsewhere. There’s no major flaws with this pizza, but it’s probably a little less than an average slice on its best day. (Note – if you opt for slices, stick to cheese! Requests for pepperoni or other toppings will just result in the employees throwing a few pieces on top of an already made cheese slice and then warming it up in the oven. Gross). I’ve been told that their sandwiches are pretty good, but I’ve never tried them. In short, this is not a destination eatery. But if you’re in the area and craving a slice this place will suffice.

Pronto Pizzeria – Menu with Prices – 669 Sterling Lyon Pkwy Unit 1, Winnipeg

This restaurant uses the subway model of preparing food. You have many choices for pizza, the basic is $11 for unlimited toppings, while those who can’t decide can choose from regular favorites. The dough is available in many varieties, gluten free, low carb, whole wheat and others. Sauces are regular, hot and pesto. The toppings are many and fresh and you can choose any combination. The only thing I found is that the regular sauce is too salty. It overpowers the pizza. The crust is great, light and crunchy, the toppings fresh, but the heavy salt actually drowns the flavor. It even burns the edges of your mouth. I think they may be following a trend popular on many pizza YouTube channels, using a simple pizza sauce that is just a big can of Roma tomatoes, basil leaves, and a quarter cup of sea salt. I’m sorry but that’s too much. Pronto should take a savory lesson from the movie “The Godfather”. Cut back the salt. Add a bit of sugar and a splash of red wine, or balsamic vinegar.

Fire & Brimstone – Menu with Prices – Barnone, 3000 E Ray Rd Building 6, Suite 101, Gilbert

A lot of potential, but misses the mark on the most important place. Fire & Brimstone has a lot going for it; the atmosphere is top notch, the toppings are interesting and unique as well as tasty, and their sauce is simplistic but good, especially for this style of pizza. Infact they get almost everything right, almost. Unfortunately a pizza is nothing without the base and this is where Fire & Brimstone comes up short. Their crust is unfortunately bland and clumsily prepared. The only flavor to speak of comes from the maillard reaction taking place on the dough’s surface. Sadly even this is held back by a simple mistake, too much flour. The pizzas are worked into shape on an over-floured work surface and since the dough is not tossed, nor is the excess flour knocked off before transferring to a peel for preparation you end up with a not insubstantial layer of dry flour on all of the crust including below the sauce and all sides. This inhibits the doughs ability to take on flavor from the cooking process and from the sauce above it. The flour also gives the entire pizza an unfortunate “dry” mouth feel. Fixing this would help a lot but it isn’t the doughs only flaw. Unfortunately the crust itself is still lacking flavor on the inside. My best guess at why this is, is a low proof time on the dough and insufficient gluten development. The fermentation process is crucial to building that almost tang you get from a good crust, a tang I could not find anywhere here. The gluten development is what gets you a nice chew in addition to rounding out the flavor. I’m no chef, or an expert, just a pizza nerd; but I want Fire and Brimstone to be a place I can recommend to people, it’s just not there yet for me. Still pretty great and has a lot to offer but it’s not quite the pizza I’m looking for at this price point.

Steel Pan Pizza – Menu with Prices – 201 E 4th St, Santa Ana

Okay, Steel Pan, I’ll admit it. You got me! I discovered Steel Pan on instagram and after seeing all the wonderful pictures, I was convinced my husband and I needed to take the trek all the way from Ontario to Santa Ana to try this place. So we did. 40 minutes of driving. Just for Steel Pan. Upon arrival at 4th street market, we found the little stand where the pizza is being sold. Not going to lie, upon first look I was already a little disappointed. The pizzas in the display did not look very appetizing but they were display pizzas, so I tried to let it go. The woman working the counter was very blasé and not very helpful. She didn’t seem too happy to be there. We ordered the pepperoni and the regular with sauce to be added on top (we had to ask for this because it was not in the display and our super friendly friend wasn’t really giving us any unwarranted information on her own, ya know). It was about 20 bucks for the two. Pricey af but that’s to be expected. So now we have the pizzas. I was glad to see that the actual ones looked a lot more appetizing than the display. The crust seemed a little overdone but I wasn’t complaining because I like it that way. First, the pepperoni. Go ahead and boomerang the slice pull apart because you will get a good shot. You’ll actually have everyone believe that the pizza is really good from all your fantastic IG shots. That’s how we were duped! However, after the first bite, immediate disappointment set in. Flavorless. Cheesy, sure. And I love a good cheesy pizza but this pizza was dry, lacking a good amount of sauce, and the sauce tasted like straight no frills can sauce from a food 4 less. No tang, nothing. What. a. disappointment. The only thing this pizza had going for itself was the crispy crust. However, you’re definitely going to pay for it in oil because this bad boy was grease lightening city. Okay, so that sucked. Maybe the cheese is better? Nope. It’s actually worse. At least the pepperoni gave that pie some flavor – but this cheese had no flavor whatsoever – and again! Stingy with the sauce! Not sure if the way this pizza is cooked causes the sauce to kinda dry up but it was like I was eating cheesy bread sticks – even with the extra sauce on top (which, again, had no flavor). We ate our pizza but for the entire time my husband and I sat there thinking about all the other delicious food we could’ve had for dinner instead. Pizza is an indulgence for us, so it really sucked that we wasted a night of indulgence on this. I know this is the unpopular opinion just looking at all these 4-5 star reviews. One other guy here on Yelp was spot on. Maybe this pizza is great in Detroit or maybe even by OC standards, but my husband and I are from North New Jersey. A 5 minute subway ride into Manhattan. We know good pizza, and I’m sorry to say, this ain’t it.
