Since the change of ownership this establishment has went no where but south. We have made 5 attempts to acquire service and good food as in the past at Pie Pan, with breakfast, lunch and dinner times. Our last attempt was Friday May 10th. Just to explain our last visit: waited to be seated after being looked at by both waitresses a solid five minutes. Mind you, only 7 tables had occupancy in both dining rooms. After being seated at a dirty table with the previous customers crumbs, we were given our waters and we once again waited and waited for our server to return to give our orders, we simply exited this restaurant and vowed never ever to return again. We are very forgiving if we see shortage of help with overflowing business, but I can assure you neither were the case this visit. Perhaps if you could ever see a manager, a supervisor or owner in the front of the house, issues such as this could be resolved and future business would continue. No one seems to cares at the Pie Pan but the declining revenue if I were a proprietor would prompt me to look into the cause and effect method. I will continue to share my views on such inexcusable no service /less than mediocre food practices at Pie Pan and will stay to my promise to avoid Pie Pan forever, along with our friends and family.

Hilton Ocala – Menu with Prices – 3600 SW 36th Ave, Ocala

Traveling on Business from Miami to Atlanta, I decided to stay in the Hilton Ocala after seeing a discount for military appreciation rate. Oh boy. I wish I had never made that decision. I usually make my check in thru the Hilton app, however, my phone was dead. I decided to go to the front office and realized that I would do the check in with them instead. Again, I regret making that decision. The front desk supervisor, Christopher, asked for my Military ID, which I realized that I had left home. He told me that he had to change the rate from $75 to $116 or $40 more. I was in the travel, and I got upset because this is the first time this has happened to me at any Hilton Hotels. I have stayed in many Hilton Hotels throughout this year and I never had an issue until now. If I had made the reservation thru Booking.com, the rate will have been $92 a night. Moreover, I had stayed in this hotel before and it’s been great. I request a cancellation, who he told me that if he canceled the reservation, he will charge me for the night. This was Memorial Day Weekend and I’m sure they were booked. I think the Front desk supervisor was upset that I got such of a great rate. I was able to do the check in using the app. However, this individual called me to my cellphone and told me that if I didn’t come down in person, he was going to change the lock of my room. Wow. What a way to screw a customer. Specially to someone like me that uses their services continuously. That’s why I believe this was more a personal attack than a policy enforcement. It took me a while to chill out and realize that at the end of the day, this front desk supervisor wasn’t worth my time. My negative experience with this hotel came down only to one person: the front desk manager. I called the Hilton Honors phone number, and it was a waste of time. I spent an hour on the phone, and nothing could be done. Apparently, the front desk supervisor it’s like an all-powerful character from a comic book. All had to be done was to tell me that they honor the request this time, and that for next time they will enforce the military ID. I would have been very thankful. I am a Hilton Gold member, and I used to be a Diamond member. I have the Hilton AMEX card which I have used in many occasions. I really want to see how Hilton as a company will handled this. If being a loyal member and a user of their chain doesn’t mean anything to them, then I’ll see what their customer service it’s all about. I wonder if the General Manager will give the front desk supervisor a pad in the back and say “job well done” for fleecing a customer $40. I will continue to use other Hilton hotels when it’s convenient, However, I guarantee you that if Hilton does not really care of how much business I do with them, they will not be my first choice. Also, I won’t be using the app, which in this case seemed to be useless. I had had many grateful experiences with Hilton, but I will remember this event and you can rest assure that Hilton Ocala lost my business.

Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya – Menu with Prices – 4502 S Steele St, Mall Suite 501A, Tacoma

First of all, I just want to say that the noodles here are really good. I had the shoyu ramen and the broth, noodles, and accoutrements were all fantastic. Great job for the cooking team. That being said, the service here is just a step above awful, getting a table and paying for your meal is wonky, and for how much front of house staff they have, things move slow. When you walk in, there’s this expectation that you use their iPad to get a table. No one greets you. So once you input your name, front of house staff seat you once your name comes up in the queue. I was seated and I browsed the menu for a few minutes. Then I waited. And waited. And waited. My server finally came and took my order (ramen and a beer) after sitting there browsing my phone for almost 10 minutes. Then I waited some more. 10 minutes later I got my beer. 5 minutes later I got an apology that things were taking so long. 20 minutes after I was seated, I finally got my noodles. I came here alone. I ordered one dish and one beer. And by the time it arrived I had been here 30 minutes. Food was great. Broth was rich. My egg was perfectly cooked. The pork was succulent. It was great. But halfway through my meal I needed to use the restroom, so I headed to the bathroom. When I came back to my table, it was in the middle of being cleared by the front of house staff. I hadn’t paid for my meal. I could have just walked out of there. But I told the staff that I wasn’t done and to please let me finish my noodles and beer (both half-consumed). Upon finishing my meal, I sat for another 10 minutes waiting for the check. But there is no check. There’s a staff member with an iPad with pre-selections for tips and an electronic signature panel. Just feels really disconnected from a sit-down restaurant. In total, it took me one hour to get a bowl of noodles and a beer. I could go to any pho shop and accomplish this in 15 minutes. This restaurant adopts the worst parts about getting a table, being seated, being served, and paying for food, and combines it with legitimately good food. The juxtaposition of great food and bad service makes you wonder why they don’t just fix the front of house problems. But they’ve seemed to double-down on bad service at every opportunity where, with the amount of staff they have, they could just drop what’s slowing them down and just run a traditional front of house that’s responsive and service-oriented. Anyway hope this helps. I will probably not come back as I can scratch my noodle itch at any one of a dozen pho shops in Tacoma. Yes, the ramen and the broth here is good, but it’s just not worth the hassle.

The Gourmet Hut – Menu with Prices – 17 Cuna St, St. Augustine

This review is specific to Mother’s Day and I need to clarify first that the “face staff” are lovely. Waitstaff: 5 stars Wait/Serving-staff are excellent and overextended on a holiday by management/ownership, all three (two women, one man) maintained a very pleasant and engaging demeanor – especially in light of being understaffed in front of house and underprepared in back of house. The kitchen lead should on future occasions insist on remaining closed on all holidays as chef is entirely not up to to the task. Perhaps best he apply to a chain restaurant for work on major hoildays, which would allow him to lean into low expectations… I was actually being a lot more generous in my imagined review (ok… it’s a holiday… there’s a limited menu… Mella, you’re really high maintenance, you know that… egg whites are a pretty unreasonable request for scrambled eggs in a tourist town, and of course bacon is coming as a platform for every meal in the South – you know this even if the menu gives absolutely no indication of f***ing pork grease all over your plate… cut ’em some slack, girl!) But d*** it, there was no alcohol in the sangria, I’m leaving hungry, and when someone from the back of house “made the rounds” to ask how everything was, he didn’t actually stop to make eye contact or allow for an answer. At all. My primary concern is that a stressed out kitchen expects the front of house staff to deal with customers’ issues resulting from ineptitude at the back of house. We were a party of three. Waited 40 minutes for seating. Waited more than an hour for the kitchen to produce our order. Fair to point out that the chef was already acquiescing with an egg-white modification, but refusing to re-make the plate (seriously, guys, I just can’t eat pork) should have resulted in a personal appearance at my table with something like: “I regret that I can’t accommodate a second try at this plate of scrambled egg whites and potatoes; I’ve really had enough and should seek another career where the dietary needs of others don’t affect my daily life. By the way, thanks for understanding that it’s not at all the fault of your waitress, that it’s just that I am an a** in the face of your specialized needs on a very busy day.” …”Also, it’s super hot this time of year in Florida, so, a lot of us get sweaty and grumpy, right?” I would have totally related and been super sweet and forgiving. This review would have focused on how real and honest the chef was – it’s rough calling and one I highly respect!. I am the first to acknowledge that I ask a lot when I’m paying too much for a basic breakfast dish and my sangria is more water than alcohol! But refusing to re-make a dish because it includes a major feature not mentioned on the menu and then sending a hard-working, sweet-in-the-face-of-a-lot-of-people-being-mean-to-her-over-your-limited-half-a**ed-holiday-menu waitress to face the consequences alone… Nope. Back of house at a -4 stars, front of house at 5 stars, food at 3, mixed drinks at 2 (because, who doesn’t love fresh strawberries on the side of a glass, even if there’s no liquor in the drink, right?).

Decibel Coffee Works – Menu with Prices – 267 South Avenida del Convento Bldg #9, Tucson

Stopped in with my wife and daughter after lunch hours on our first visit to the MSA Annex. There was one customer seated and from appearance already drinking his coffee. The barista (owner?) did not greet or even attempt to acknowledge our presence. He seemed to be working with what looked like chopped fruit so we waited patiently for a bit. We looked and talked about the menu and decided what we would be ordering. But after we noticed we didn’t seem to play any sort of priority to the prepped fruit he was so attentively working with, we got fed up of waiting and left. One thing is to not greet a customer (when you’re terribly busy that can be understood) but another thing is to not even acknowledge them with eye contact or a simple “one moment please” when there is NO ONE ELSE even waiting. It’s apparent the fruit could of waited with three potential drinks up for order and very little foot traffic/business at the moment. Frankly, it was almost an attitude thing. Like he was too cool to be bothered by 3 non-hipster customers. I purchase whole beans very frequently and would rather brew my own pour over at home than to deal with these kind experiences. Needless to say, I won’t be buying hermosa beans as there are tons of options out there with superb customer service. And food for thought for the owner, I’m the type of customer who splurges on Gesha/Yemen top shelf beans. When in business, your first impression can mean substantial future sales and a loyal future customer. Not to mention recommendations and GLOWING REVIEWS

Ruan Thai Cuisine Savannah – Menu with Prices – 17 W Broughton St, Savannah

Extremely poor service. Will NOT return. My wife and I were in Savannah for a night out. We chose to try the restaurant for the first time on August 3rd 2019. We went into the restaurant and we were seated very quickly. My wife ordered a garlic dish and I ordered the family rice dish. My wife specifically said she did not want vegetables as the dish came with them. WhIle waiting for our food we had to flag three different servers down for more Pepsi. After a 35 minute wait our food finally came, only to find vegetables on my wifes order. My wife and I eat together. So I waited for her meal to return 20 minutes later her food returned, properly done this time. During the wait my food grew cold, and given all the other service issues we had, I asked for a manager. I was promptly told that the manager had left for the evening, and was asked by the lady what she could do to make it right. I explained to her that I didn’t mind paying for my wifes meal and our drinks, but that I did not feel like I should have to pay for a meal that was cold, especially after all of the other service issues we had. She then became very argumentative exclaiming that I had eaten it all. Over half of my meal was still on my plate. For the sake of argument I told her to bring me the bill. She did, with 10% off. We paid it and left. Never to darken the doors again.

gennaro italian pizzeria – Menu with Prices – 2810 Paxton St, Harrisburg

Incapable of running a business. Waited over an hour for a pizza. We live 2 miles aways. Driver came after an hour, sat out front in his blue car, then drove away!!??? Was he expecting us to come out to car???? I called back and spoke to some non customer friendly employee answered the phone, no manners. Asked them where my order was? Then I was told “we were in front of your house”. Exactly!!!!!!!! Then he says “oh, I’ll come back”. I said NO. Please cancel the order. Then he got more rude and laughed, then told the owner who could of cared less and then hung up on me. Great new business!!!!!!! Business must be earned. You should be honored to serve your local community.

The Blue Grasshopper Brewery Menu with Prices 1401 2nd St NW, Albuquerque

My first visit to this establishment was ok, not exceptionally good service but worth it for the beer and the environment. I thought I’d give it a second chance. My second visit to this establishment was worse, slow or no service is what is going to kill an otherwise nice establishment like this. The place was near empty, I walked in sat down and waited and waited for someone to offer a menu. The manager walked by a few times, looked my way and continued on as if I wasn’t there. Was I supposed to order from the bar? Was I supposed to wait to be seated? I finally had to ask a lady working behind the bar these questions and if anyone was working the table I was seated at. She replied, someone will come around and will take my order. Who? When? Take your chance and try for yourself, hopefully you’ll have a better customer service experience. I’m rating this establishment solely based on my customer experience from both of my visits.

Joe Bologna’s Office – Menu with Prices – 117 W Maxwell St, Lexington

Lot of hype about this restaurant centered around it being located in an old synagogue and upon arriving it smelled wonderful. The location was moderately busy for the weekend dinner hour and our group was given a pager and told about 20 to 30 minutes for the wait. Eager to try this place out we waited and waited a bit more and then waited some more then some more and more and more….well after an hour and 10 minutes and rechecking with the receptionist twice and given blank stares, inclusive of telling us our party could be seated at two different tables across the restaurant from each other (there were only seven of us) we strolled into a relatively busy Mexican food establishment immediately next door which was using some of the same building. Some twenty minutes AFTER being seated there, getting drinks and apps…the pager finally went off. Our waiter offered to return the pager for us. By the way, the Mexican meal was excellent and service was outstanding…Please try Cinco de Mayo Mexican Restaurant

Hotel Amarano Burbank-Hollywood – Menu with Prices – 322 N Pass Ave, Burbank

This review is for HotelStorm.com & the Amarano Hotel ! I used HotelStorm.com to book my stay at Hotel Amarano which I give 4 stars for location, ambiance, cleanliness, customer service and comfort. I would have given them 5 stars however, they had some kind of mechanical issue at 2 am which was so loud I thought we were having an earth quake. It went on and off for an hour. My other reason for not giving them 5 stars is due to their partnership with HotelStorm.com which I review below: My experience booking & making changes to my booking with HotelStorm.com went fine. However, when I arrived at the Amarano Hotel, they did not have my check-in Information. They said the credit card information sent to them, did not go through so, they did not have a room for me. I waited while the front desk clerk, worked out the problem, but she stressed the fact that they did not receive payment for my stay. I showed her my confirmation info with HotelStorm.com. She apologized and found me a room. Unfortunately, it was a room I did not request. They were booked up so I had to take what they had. At least that’s what she told me. I originally requested a double bed with a view and I ended up with a King bed and no view! I don’t blame the Hotel because I chose to use HotelStorm.com. This is why I didn’t complain to them, and I am reviewing both here on Yelp. In my experience, Its sometimes hard to work with 3rd party trip vendors to make travel changes etc… But now, I also have to worry if my room has been booked properly even after I pay in advance. That’s just scary! I won’t be using HotelStorm again to book my hotel stays. However, I will return to Hotel Amarano, I had an awesome experience at the hotel, with no real issues. I will add however, like most hotels in California they are also capitalizing on the resort fee policy. They call it an Amenity fee. Also they don’t offer self-parking so if you bring your car, prepare to pay $45/day for parking. As for HotelStorm.com there are a lot of discount travel services to choose from so I will continue to look around for one that actually works well. If I see positive reviews for HotelStorm.com in the future, I may try again. But for now No way!

Al Hamra Halal Mediterranean Buffet – Menu with Prices – 1250 Bardstown Rd Suite 19, Louisville

Cautiously, I need to update my review of Al Hamra. I said I would never return, but friends wanted to go, so I was a good sport. This time, about 1:00 Sunday afternoon, the buffet was well stocked. The staff were friendly. I didn’t visit the men’s room, but I am hoping they have solved that problem as well. I will visit again. The food was good, and I want to see if the improvements are consistent. ———- You shamed me, Al Hamra. You embarrassed me in front of my senior citizen parents. I will NEVER return. I love Mediterranean food, and was excited that Louisville was getting its own Mediterranean restaurant. After church on a Sunday, I offered to take my partner and my aging parents for brunch. We got there at 12:15, and saw the 75% ‘C’ health inspection posted, but there was also a nice note saying they had resolved all of the problems. I talked my family into giving Al Hamra a chance. The restaurant doesn’t open until 1:00, but the were kind enough to let my parents and me sit in a booth and drink water while we waited the 45 minutes. This was nice of them. When the buffet opened, there were some good items. I especially enjoyed the two kinds of hummus and the babaghanouj. Unfortunately, the buffet was NEVER fully stocked. Although we were there when the restaurant opened, and paid full price, there was NEVER any lamb. The chicken ran out quickly, before I got any, and was NEVER replenished. The worst thing was when I had to use the Men’s room. Of the two stalls, one had a filthy clogged toilet, and the other had NO TOILET PAPER. It was clear that this was how the restroom was when they OPENED today. Unacceptable. Had I seen it first, I would never have eaten there. I discreetly told the owner, and he did not respond. I do not believe he cared in the least. When a restaurant doesn’t maintain the areas you SEE, it always makes me wonder whether they maintain the areas you cannot see (kitchen, storage, etc.). This place is a trag

Subway Restaurants – Menu with Prices – 5655 Centennial Center Blvd Suite 110 Centennial Gateway S/C, Las Vegas

Wow. Just wow. The management here needs to train their staff big time. We walked in and immediately I see two customers ordering sandwiches and one girl making their sandwiches VERY SLOWLY. Also behind the counter is the “supervisor” on duty, who is on the phone enjoying herself while more people come in to get their sandwiches behind a backed up line. After 15 mins of watching this girl make SLOW as possible sandwiches for two demanding customers who want everything just so, another customer walks in. We casually tell her we have been waiting almost 20 mins and she says loudly “Oh no I have to get going I can’t wait that long.” Then by some miracle the “supervisor” gets off the phone and helps move the line along built up by this SLOW AS A SNAIL girl. The “supervisor” makes my boyfriend’s sandwich in 8 seconds. Mine took 3 mins by this SLOW girl who struggled with avacado….. finally I told her to just wrap it up I have to go. Overall I can see the associates are not floor ready for speed and accuracy. I can see the “supervisors” are not trained with self awareness and leadership skills to build the business.

The Beacon Cafe 287 – Menu with Prices – 12721 US-287 BUS, Fort Worth

This place barely deserves 1 star. My husband and I went for breakfast once morning. We arrived around 10:45am and got seated promptly. We placed our food and drink order and got or drinks right away. Both of our coffees had coffee grinds in them. Then we waited, and waited, and waited for our food. Finally after about 3 coffee refills and 40 minutes of waiting on our food we asked the waitress about our food. She apologizes and checks on our food. She comes back and says that our order is up next. We continue to wait for another 15 minutes and still no food. We tell the waitress just to bring our check for the coffee and we leave… to go eat Lunch somewhere else! Also, there was a large table next to us that was empty when we arrived and was never bused the entire time we were there.
