I wish I made the effort to check out this coffee place sooner! Today I decided to grab some coffee to go for my aunt and I and bring it back to the 626SGV area. Despite going to CSUF and being so close, I haven’t tried Philz Coffee even after hearing so many good reviews and I am glad I made the decision to come in today. I came in around 4pm and all the tables were filled with students studying or hanging out. There was a short line and I waited about 10 minutes. Since it was my first time here, I asked the barista for their most popular drinks. She recommended me the Iced Mint Mojito at regular sweetness and I asked if it was really sweet and she explained that they only use 2 spoons of brown sugar and it is really light which I enjoyed. I got that along with the Iced Ecstatic at regular sweetness. I got both drinks with less ice, in the large size, and asked for lids since they usually give it to you without one. After taking the first sip of the Mint Mojito I INSTANTLY fell in love. I don’t know why I haven’t tried Philz Coffee sooner. Their coffee is REALLY good, not overly sweet, no sugary syrupy sweeteners and the uniqueness of the mint leaves really is a game changer in my opinion. In a weird but phenomenal way the coffee is also really refreshing. The Ecstatic was also really good especially the nutty flavor it contains. I’m impressed with the coffee here and I feel like I want to come every morning now. I appreciate their natural ingredients and the fact that all their coffee start with straight black coffee and everything is added according to your preference after. The female workers were so kind and informative being my first time in here. She took the time to explain the ins and outs of their menu and I am really excited to come back and try other items on their menu. I found my new favorite coffee spot and I will be back ASAP because I am going to need it when exams come up. Im hoping to try their snacks soon as well since I saw lots of customers ordering food to go. Prices are decent for the quality experience and coffee you consume from Philz!

Philz Coffee – Menu with Prices – 21010 Pacific Coast Hwy, Huntington Beach

When I think alcohol, I think cocktails. When I think coffee, I want Philz Coffee’s gourmet selections that are unique and edgy. It has a certain je na sais quoi that really separates them from the rest. And yes, this chain hailing from San Francisco started the Mint Mojito Coffee craze that you see everywhere now from copycats out there who can’t compare. Ahem, ahem…you know who you are people with no originality but I digress. Philz Coffee is the real deal and I appreciate that their pricing remains competitive. Featuring blends from light, medium, to dark, they offer hot and cold coffee options, as well as tea for those who are not into these roasts. I discovered another iced coffee drink I favor a lot and that is the Gingersnap. It had subtle notes of nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves altogether – really comforting. For something hot, their Philharmonic with cardamom was so soothing it warmed my soul on that breezy day we came to visit. I got my eye on the toffee, cherry, cinnamon dark blend called Ether for next time.

Philz Coffee – Menu with Prices – 525 Santa Monica Blvd, Santa Monica

I’m funemployed and need a place to very legit very adult computer work, so I’m pretty much going to every cafe in Santa Monica. Anyway, Philz– Impressions: Wished I dressed cuter since there’s a lot of attractive young laptop pounders around here. Are meet cutes still a thing in real life? Like oops I spilled scalding coffee on your expensive MacBook and then our eyes met… Does the coffee taste good: -I’ve been to a Philz before, and I remember I liked their interestingly flavored coffee, such as their alcohol-themed iced coffees (Mint Mojito and Iced Rose). They have lots of options for different types of coffee, dark, medium, light, citrus, dense, dusky, supple, jammy, plummy, chewy, etc. and can adjust ice cream sugar yada yada I’m sure if you are finicky with coffee you can find something to like. Working Environment: -It’s well lit, can sit next to large windows so lots of natural light. Free Wifi, no password needed, no need to drum up the courage ask the cashier. -Plenty of tables and chairs, but they get filled since Philz can get busy (much less people after 12pm). Getting a seat is pretty worth it because they have lots of electric outlets, so you can be left to your devices. -It’s loud. If that bothers you then Philz aint ur jam. I personally don’t mind, esp if I have headphones. But there’s every noise from loud music to coffee grinding and cabinet slamming and people chatting about Serbia. Heads Up: They do this thing where you wait in line to order at a counter first and THEN pay. In the past I had forgotten that and paid first and waited around. I swear I’m not dumb, and I’m totally open to trying different positions, I’m just used to doing it the way Starbucks likes it okay. To the cheap a**holes like myself: -Since Philz is so busy you can kinda get away with sitting here working on your computer and not buying a coffee. Have I exercised this option?…does that make me the worst? 5/5 starts for guilt trip. Is it bad that on top of that I brought my own water…oh wow that’s a little harsh I have feelings too you know.

Blk Dot Coffee – Menu with Prices – 13786B Jamboree Rd, Irvine

10/10! Customer service here is what was beyond expectations! I went here with my friend and we were both wanting to try something new and we were set on trying the mint mojito. What seemed to be the owner was really kind and patient and kept reassuring us that if we did not like it– we would have another drink made for us, while most places say that they will remake it-this was so genuine! We tried our drinks as we were sitting outside the lovely environment and he stepped outside to ask us if we liked the drinks. We were too shy to say it wasn’t our favorite, and with our slight hesitancy he told us immediately with a smile that he’d make us the LVTM coffee with oat milk and we LOVED IT! Nothing was wrong with the mint mojito we just weren’t quite ready for the refreshing thrill of the mint :b He even followed up with asking if we liked our second drink and was expecting nothing but our satisfaction with our new drinks. I was so blown away by how patient they were with us on top of handling everyone else with kindness! I know that people would have easily brushed us off or not follow up if we liked the drinks or not. Unfortunately, I did not get the name of this person, but safe to say all the interactions with the employees were nice/pleasant! Definitely love the atmosphere, the welcoming environment, and the overall teamwork that I saw at this place. I hardly write reviews, and when I want to its because of a bad experience, but this was SOOO NICE! LIKE WOW! Not only is the coffee something that I crave ? but the people truly brightened my day! It was a lovely experience, it truly goes far when people are nice! ? ? So coffee was yummy and the people were so kind!!

1951 Coffee Company UCB Menu with Prices 2495 Bancroft Way, Berkeley

I come here pretty frequently, and I’m always really happy with the service and coffee I get here! Praise: – Iced Latte with Oat Milk is probably one of the best coffee drinks I’ve ever had. It can be a bit pricy, but I would argue that for the organization’s mission, it’s worth spending a little bit extra. It’s also pretty hard to find oat milk around here at the time of writing this review, and there’s something about it that’s so much better than soy/almond milk. – Matcha Latte + Vanilla Iced Latte also taste really good if you’d prefer something sweeter! – It is really conveniently located! Hella people study in MLK + pass by it on the way to class, and I’d argue it has better coffee than other on-campus options. – The employees have always been really sweet and friendly! And quick if you’re not there during a rush! Growth Areas: – I wish they had just iced coffee — a couple of times I’ve asked if they have just iced plain coffee but I’m under the impression that they only have regular hot coffee + the iced espresso drinks + cold brew. I might just be wrong, but I’ll check again. – I touched on this before, but it can be a bit pricey. Understandable given the quality of the food/drinks and the mission, but probably not the most amenable to a college student clientele. – I wish they had Snackpass! It would make it a lot more convenient to order + beat lines. Overall, I’m so glad this place is right in the middle of the Student Union. Will definitely be back!

Tierra Mia Coffee Menu with Prices 201 N State College Blvd, Anaheim

Literally around the corner from where I live, Tierra Mia is convenient for coffee, tea, pastries, study or work. Ever since it’s debut here in Anaheim, it manages to have a steady flow of customers. It’s hard to believe a Dairy Queen once sat here not too long ago. Tierra Mia has a beautiful open seating layout. Stools, chairs and wooden tables align the windows, and then there are larger wooden tables in the middle of the space, and a set of booth-like seats closer to the counter. Another plus is, that they have free wi-fi (find the password at the front counter) and clean restrooms! The baristas/workers are also polite and I have yet to catch any of them twiddling their thumbs – hats off to them for staying busy while at work! Drinks to choose from here are many. I have had their chai tea, vanilla and honey vanilla lattes, a caramelo frappe, green iced tea, mojito mint and strawberry mojito tea lemonades. I enjoyed all beverages mentioned probably because they’re all different. I ordered a cheese roll one time and it reminded me of 2 day old Porto’s (take that as you will), maybe I should try a different pastry? Whether you’re driving through or stopping in to hang out, you should find that Tierra Mia has some kind of beverage to satisfy your thirst. I know every time I’ve been here, I always do.

Casa Bacardi – Menu with Prices – 11000 Terminal Access Rd, Fort Myers

A mojito and a Cuban sandwich and I was in paradise! I love Cuban sandwiches… when they are truly done right they are like eating savory mana from heaven… and they do it right here! Rum is also my drink of choice… and no matter what you think there is a true art to making a good mojito… here they get the college level art class grade… not the full on professional art gallery or museum grade… but still pretty good. The key that most fail on is muddling the mint… this means bruising the leaves not shredding them so that the mint flavor comes through but not the actual leaf through the straw! The place is your typical airport eatery… packed with ok service. However the Cuban sandwich wS pretty gosh darn good!! Not sure when I’ll be back this way but until then my mouth will be watering for another bite!

Undergrounds Coffeehouse – Menu with Prices – 23889 Newhall Ranch Rd, Santa Clarita

This is easily one of the nicest coffee shops in the area; and the fact that it’s an independent coffee shop makes it all the sweeter. They have a modest food menu, but they stop serving it at 1PM, so if you’re not an early eater, don’t count on this as your lunch stop, unless you count pastries as a meal. I’ve always thought Verve was a safe choice for coffee, as the only coffee shops that serve it really know how to brew their coffee. This one was no different. As with most coffee shops worth their salt, these guys have a few signature drinks of their own- which do tend to be on the sweeter side- and can please just about any palette. I tried the Iced Havana Latte which is made with condensed milk and has the perfect balance of sweetness and bold coffee flavor. Thanks to the thickness and overall sugar content of the condensed milk, the coffee never really got watery and tasteless as most iced lattes do, even hours after taking small sips. The main winning point of this place is probably the beautiful interior and relaxed nature of the overall space. Hanging plants, comfy sofas, and even a patio invite you to come in and set down your burdens for a while.

Heart and Soul Coffee – Menu with Prices – 930 11th St, Modesto

Little brother wanted some coffee after having lunch. He recommended this place that is downtown. The ambiance was cool. Love the open space. I ordered a hot mocha and my brother ordered a different drink. Think it had the name of lumberjack latte but I could be wrong. The drinks were made fast but one issue. The girl made me an iced mocha and not a hot mocha. Oh well let’s run with it right. I’m actually glad I did. This iced mocha was good. Just the perfect amount of sweetness. If I had to do it all over, I would Order a non fat iced mocha. In the end, the screw up turned out to be a blessing. Thanks for the great iced mocha.

Roof Top Lounge – Menu with Prices – 1400 Main St, Columbia

My husband and I stayed at the Sheraton last weekend. We enjoyed the hotel but the rooftop bar left me feeling super disappointed. We went up for a late drink (around 11) and before we got off of the elevator, we could hear the music. I’m not an old “fuddy-duddy” by any means but the music was too loud to even think. As we turned the corner, I expected to see a big crowd dancing or something. Nope. About 20-30 people all sitting in small groups trying to chat and having to yell. I thought we should just call it a night but the view was nice so my husband convinced me to have a drink. The prices were high but that was expected. I decided to go with a mojito and he ordered a beer. My mojito was served by a female bartender that didn’t smile once. It had no mint in it and tasted like bad tonic water. Since it was so loud, I thought maybe she just couldn’t hear me so I asked her if it was a mojito. She looked annoyed, said “yes” and kept on going. I looked at my husband and joked that at least they couldn’t screw up a beer. Joke was on us! It was skunky and tasted awful. We paid and left without drinking our drinks. In the end, it all worked out because Bourbon down the street was amazing.

Voyager Craft Coffee – Menu with Prices – 87 N San Pedro St, San Jose

I have been a fan of Voyager on Stevens Creek since Day 1, and I was more than ecstatic to learn that they were branching out to Downtown San Jose. I used to frequent San Pedro, as its many huge tables and clean inviting space were perfect for having coffee, catching up with friends, or setting up camp with laptops and books. Over time, I stopped coming here but Voyager just gave me a renewed love for the space. Their menu spans coffee, tea, pastries and small bites, both sweet and savory. Voyager’s signature drinks have been honed, the ingredients perfectly complementary, with a cup for every mood. Need a little spicy hot lovin’ on a cold day? Hot Santiago is my go to. Want something subtle, fragrant, refreshing and not too sweet? Easy: iced Tokyo. The iced Lexington, with its smooth sweetness, is a favorite among my family. Signatures aside, their staple drinks are all solid as well. I’ve had a few pastries here, my favorite probably being the almond croissant. A strong contender is the salted caramel brownie which I had the fortune of sampling once, but haven’t seen again so I’ll have to keep an eye out for that one. I am ever delighted by their constant supply and selection of freshly roasted single origin whole beans (Ethiopia is my favorite), which I buy probably once a month. Everyone I’ve ever interacted with at Voyager has been friendly, personable, and knowledgeable. They’re genuinely passionate in their craft and customer service. No team has ever made me feel as welcomed and comfortable spending more time and money than I care to admit on coffee. There’s plenty of space both inside and outside, with a variety of seats and tables to choose from and a fair number of outlets for those with electrical needs. Parking is not at all difficult with the garage right across the street. I can no longer use the excuse that parking is only free on Sundays, because Voyager validates and frankly, I am conflicted between being pleased and concerned for my wallet because I would guzzle coffee here every day of the week if I could. As I type, I have already planned to re-caffeinate myself, replenish my bean supply, and bury myself in some tasty pastries this Saturday, and I can’t wait!

The People’s Perk – Menu with Prices – 551 S Mendenhall St, Greensboro

Absolutely in love with this little coffee shop. The ladies who work here are so friendly and inviting, and the store is adorable with free wifi. Fresh baked donuts on Monday’s from donut world paired with iced and hot coffee on the regular. They also offer specialty drinks- which are freaking killer. But what gets me is the large 20oz iced coffee for $2.12 after tax. The coffee is delicious and that’s a killer deal. They offer almond milk and soy milk for the non dairy drinkers. This is my go-to coffee shop in the boro.

Kaldi’s & Pink G Cafe – Menu with Prices – 4850 W Flamingo Rd Suite 26, Las Vegas

Adorable coffee and tea shop with hand crafted beverages! Saw this place had 5 stars but only a few reviews so when I was in the area, decided to give it a try. It’s tucked in the back corner of the shopping center and at first I couldn’t find it but glad I didn’t give up the hunt. (It’s to the left of the vape shop) The inside is a pink explosion but in a sweet way. There’s couches and lots of comfortable seating if you want to stay for awhile. I had an iced dirty chai craving (let’s be real, I crave those every day) but the sweet owner convinced me to try their signature iced coffee. Man, I’m glad I did it was delicious! I immediately texted a girlfriend and said, “found a new iced coffee, go here ASAP!” She explained how she makes it, the organic and wholesome ingredients she uses and no added sugar. Although I usually steer away from dairy she uses whole milk to give the iced coffee a yummy frothy foam top. And the best part, the homemade fruit syrup at the bottom. Delicious I tell you, delicious. If you’re up for trying something different than a boring iced vanilla latte, I say try this iced coffee! She also made my toddler a iced juice concoction which made him very happy. Overall, it was the priciest iced coffee I’ve had off the strip but I think it’s worth it. Maybe not an every day caffeine fix, but a once in awhile treat. Based on other reviews they also serve afternoon tea and other drinks and treats so I give this very pink little coffee shop a big yes!
