Hello Taco Tuesday! If you are looking for a tasty adventure then you are in for a treat. My wife and I have been here a few times in the past with friends and have enjoyed but this was our first go at it on Taco Tuesday! Now let’s get something straight, they do not have a Taco Tuesday special – as they do Taco Thursday’s (go figure) but if you are a Tuesday person for Tacos like everywhere else then come between 3-6pm. Here’s why: 1) Happy Hour is amazing with frozen margaritas, wine and craft draft beer on special. 32oz Laguniyas IPA for $6!!!! Crazy good happy hour. Happy hour also does $1 off tacos so order during this HH also! 2) the Food is fresh and amazing. On this occasion I had the Octopus Tacos with a flour tortilla / and a Baja fish taco – both were perfect / large (they need to be for $5.50 and $6 respectively) / and filling. Adding chips and guac for like $2 is also a good deal considering your 1sr round of chips and salsa are on the house! BEST PART of all of this is that there were only like 4 couples in the whole place and our party of 3. Why? Guess no one knows how great this HH is and where they should really be vs. every other place that has lines and is super packed with screaming kids and grumpy people who hate fighting for tables and specials on Taco Tuesday.. Come Here – you won’t be disappointed!

Tuxies Juices – Menu with Prices – 6030 Magnolia Ave, Riverside

Taco place around Riverside plaza that I’ve never tried out before. Passing by it, I decided I gotta give it a try, because I love trying new places and also its Tuesday so taco Tuesday of course! On first glance this place seems like it goes way back, a small little hut that looks like it took over a wienerschnitzel, but inside is filled with delicious tacos. So I went up and ordered the Tuesday taco combo which has refried beans covered in cheese, Mexican rice, and 3 tacos, and with the combo u get a 2nd one for like 6 dollars, so pretty worth. I got the cabeza, asada, and al pastor, and overall they were all not bad! I love cabeza and of course the cabeza was good. The tacos were topped in the usual cilantro and onions but also a spicy guac like sauce, that was pretty solid. I’d definitely try this place again!

Taqueria El Crucero – Menu with Prices – 2505 N Robinson Dr, Waco

Menu is on the wall by the cash register. $.50 extra charge for credit card purchases. The woman behind the counter is very matter of fact and not so friendly, get your order straight and get on your way. We ordered chips and salsa and guac. 3 cheese pupusas, 3 red enchiladas. Green bottle is the hot, red is the mild salsa. The salsa verde has some heat to it. The guac is super creamy but tastes decent. The cashier brought out our guac and made sure I wanted cheese on top of my enchiladas. She warmed up as we waited for our food and was quite attentive. The salsa isn’t bad, both the red and green. They will bring out more chips if needed as long as you order the chips and guac. The 3 chicken tacos, 3 cheese pupusas and 3 soyrizo Red enchiladas was $24.86. This small spot is deceptively good. We enjoyed everything and their quesadilla was so much bigger than we thought. The soyrizo red enchiladas were so yummy and the chicken tacos were tasty too. Good spot for some authentic Mexican or pupusas. Doesn’t look like much from the outside and inside but the flavors and food are well worth the visit.

Mariscos El Pulpo Sports Bar & Grill – Menu with Prices – 1880 Monrovia Ave unit c, Costa Mesa

Went here with a friend because I heard they had a great Taco Tuesday deal with $1.50 tacos and cheap Micheladas. Upon arriving, I saw no advertising for Taco Tuesday. The menu showed tacos, but the pricing was more like 6 dollars for two tacos. I asked the waitress if they had taco tuesday deals. She said yes and pointed to the tacos on the menu (that show 5.99). I asked if they had 3 dollar Micheladas. she said yes. I ordered two camaron tacos and my friend ordered two carne asada tacos with a side of beans and rice. The rice was undercooked and looked like it was from the freezer. The camaron tacos were good, but nothing entirely special. The reason I am giving one star is because I specifically asked the waitress about 3 dollar micheladas. When I got the check, she charged me 9!! I asked her and she said the 3 dollar deal was for draft beer. I tried to argue but she was adamant that she had told me draft beer was 3 dollars. I also looked online and saw that the taco tuesday price for tacos is $1.50, so they should really change either their menu or what it shows online.

Sayulita Taqueria – Menu with Prices – 2823-057-002, Ocala

I’d come here more often if I didn’t live 40 min away! When I crave tacos, I often think about Sayulita as opposed to any of Gainesville’s establishments. I’ve tried the chips and Tres Amigos (guac, salsa, and queso), and all three components were so good that I couldn’t single any of them out. I’ve also tried a 101 Taco with taco meat, Shrimp Taco, Buffalo Taco, and Mahi Taco (which were all super yummy) as well as one of their classic margaritas. Since my first visit, I’ve gone back one more time and repeated my order of a shrimp taco, tres amigos and chips, and a margarita and enjoyed the meal just as much as I did the first time. The restaurant has a good amount of seating and space; the decor is simple and not flashy (which I like); and both times I’ve gone, there were 1-2 other groups of customers. Again, I would truly be a regular here if I lived closer!

Taco Grill #2 – Menu with Prices – # D, 2590 Newport Blvd # D, Costa Mesa

I had such a great experience here! Came on a taco Tuesday around 8:15pm, and it wasn’t super crowded at all. I found seating easily in their small space. They offer 4 different tacos on Taco Tuesday for $1.50 – super worth. I got one of each. Unfortunately I can’t remember which ones they were but it’s listed on the front of their door. The tortilla is slightly bigger than your average taco, and each taco comes with two tortillas. The tacos are filled w more meat than usual I’d say. There’s a self serve station that has 3 different types of salsa. I would say each of them is around medium spice level, which I love! There’s also self serve cucumbers, chopped purple onion + jalapeño, pepper, and lemons. Four tacos made me way too full, I’d definitely stick to three next time considering how filling each one is. My favorite taco by far was their blackened fish taco which was flavorful and tender! Idk if to go orders receive this as well, but I got complimentary chips when I dined in. The staff was also super nice. Overall, not a life changing place, but super worth it for the price (I paid $6 + tax)! I’d definitely check it out!

Painted Taco – Menu with Prices – 222 Rosemont Garden, Lexington

Great Vibe, Good Margaritas, So-So food. The vibe and theme of Painted Taco is what drew me in. I had seen the building while driving through the area and made a point to come when they opened. Of course we ordered margaritas, which did not disappoint. I would come back for the margaritas. The food was nothing special. The names of the tacos were fun. I had mine “painted” with queso. The tacos were decent too, but slightly overpriced. I was surprised tacos were $3.99 each. But the real reason this score is not higher is the chips and salsa. The chips were not fresh, some were cold. The salsa was not good. If you are going to serve tacos etc,you have to have good chips and salsa. My friend, a vegetarian, had limited options, since one of the products was not available yet. We were surprised there were no bean tacos – a simple vegetarian ingredient or that beans were not listed under BYO taco. Also to note the tip screen when paying for your food starts at a tip of 20%. I anticipate Painted Taco will get less tips this way, unless they change the screen to include 10%, 15% options – unless your goal is to get cash tips instead. But who carries cash these days?? I’m excited for this new place and I’ll be back for the margaritas and tacos, but not the chips & salsa.

Bites By Bandida – Menu with Prices – 2901 NE 2nd Ave, Miami

So I decided to try this new taco place. It opens till 2am and it’s a cute little set up. Surprisingly, the place only had two clients while we were there (It’s happy hour time everywhere, but not here). I ordered two tacos and a beef empanada. I was shocked to see how tiny these $3.75 tacos are. Picture this, the tortilla size was about as big as a rim of a cup. That’s tiny a tiny taco! The Chuleta and Cheese taco was very tasty and flavorful. The Cochinito Pibil was very dry and bland. The beef empanada was tasty, but dry. My daughter ordered the guacamole and the cashier asked her if she wanted chips…hmmmm? Anyways, long story short, this brand new taco place has a lot of competition with well known names. I think they should re-think the taco size and offer Happy Hour so that it can be just as lit as the surrounding restaurants. I will try again in a couple of months to see if they have re-vamped their purpose.

La Taqueria Downtown – Menu with Prices – 236 Grove St, Jersey City

If you are craving authentic tacos in the JC area, look no further. No, they don’t service chicken tacos. No, don’t ask for cheese on your tacos…that’s not what this place is about. They do a great job keeping the food authentic and delicious. Let me start by saying the inside is small and loud but the outdoor patio is amazing! Plenty of room and a fun atmosphere and also much less hot and stuffy! There is almost always a wait here and you need to make sure your entire party is there before you even think about trying to be seated lol trust me…it won’t work. The food is very good. They start by bringing out fresh delicious chips and heavenly salsa. Do yourself a favor and Never say no to the guac. You will be full of regret if you do. It is creamy and flavorful. Perfect combination with those dope chips. The tacos like I mentioned before are very authentic. My favorites are the carnitas and the fish tacos. I’m craving them as I write this review. They have a lot of unique taco options as well like stomach, tongue, and salted beef if you are feeling more adventurous. They have a variety of drinks as well. The margaritas are STRONG. You’ll be feeling yourself after one or two of those. If you enjoy fresh, authentic food in a fun atmosphere, get yourself over to this place immediately.

Tacos Jerez – Menu with Prices – 17681 Beach Blvd, Huntington Beach

$1.16 TACOS – need I say more?? It was Taco Tuesday, and not gonna lie, we had heard hole mole had good taco deals down the street, but it was soo crowded! My husband and I appreciate chains, but are more of hole-in-the-wall foodies most of the time. Tacos Jerez knocks Mexican street tacos out of the park – loads of meat, cilantro and onions for days. Their sopas ($3.00) was really good too. I want to go back and try their specials because if they are as good as their tacos are, then we will certainly become regulars. The wait was a little long, probably because we ordered a butt load of tacos, but other than that we know where to go now for Taco Tuesday!

Thistle Draftshop – Menu with Prices – 5210 Farm to Market 2920 Suite 100, Spring

I came in here because my friends were hosting their baby shower here. Yes, baby shower. Don’t judge! They had reserved a secluded area toward the back and they had some food catered by Thistle Draftshop (sliders, salad, chips/salsa/guac); and despite this being a bar, I was impressed by the quality of their food. When I tried the sliders, I was like “oh wow, this is actually pretty good”. My friends complimented the salsa, and I personally enjoyed the guac and the chips. Let’s talk about the chips. They sprinkled some seasoning on top of the chips that gave it a little kick and added to the flavor. I’m definitely a fan. As for drinks. They have beers. They have lots of beers. I mean, seriously, they have beers, beers, and then some more beers. If you like beers, you will like Thistle Draftshop. My only complaint about this place? It’s all the way out in Spring and not in Houston. Getting here will take me almost an hour so I can’t frequent this place. So all you Spring residents should rejoice the fact that there’s a cool-ass bar in your neighborhood. if you don’t feel like driving too far into town, THIS is the place to go.

Tocaya Organica – Menu with Prices – 4712 N Goldwater Blvd STE 1210, Scottsdale

I went to Tocaya on Friday night with a friend and it was amazing! I tthink Tocaya is the perfect spot for a girls’ night, first date, weekend night for a light dinner and refreshments. Known for it’s vegan food, Tocaya still serves meat options which are pretty tasty. Interior: The decor is absolutely gorgeous, simple, yet elegant. Everything is bright and welcoming. Service: Amazing! Our server/bartender was sweet and prompt with our orders, and when I asked her for taco recommendations she was helpful. Appetizers: *Brussels Sprouts* *Guacamole w/ Plantain Chips* The guacamole wasn’t anything special. It was just simple mashed avocado with pomegranate. The plantain chips were delicious! Healthier than tortilla chips, but just as tasty. *Salsa and Chips*- The salsa is probably one of the best restaurant salsas we have ever tasted. If they sell this in the bottle, I want to buy it! The salsa is served with tortilla chips. Tacos: You have to order the tacos in 3 steps: 1. Choose type of taco 2. Choose type of protein 3. Choose type of cheese *Tulum Taco with Chicken Tinga + Queso Fresco* This was my favorite of the two tacos I tried. The “Tulum” part of the taco is grilled pineapple salsa with charred red pepper, red onion & arbol salsa. *Barrio Taco with Carne Asada + Oaxaca* The steak was delicious, but I probably will not order this taco again. Margaritas: *Passion Fruit Margarita* fresh and delicious! This had the perfect amount of hint of pomegranate without overpowering the margarita and tequila. *Tamarind Margarita* this brought me back to everything Indian tasting. I don’t think everyone will love this drink, but it was my favorite between the two margaritas I tried that night! Very fresh tasting. I can’t wait to try more flavors! *Strawberry Margarita* The mezcal in this drink was incredible. Not for everyone, but if you love mezcal and the smokiness, you will LOVE this margarita! I honestly couldn’t taste any flavor of strawberry, but that was okay because the smokiness is the star of this beverage. I do want to come back and try more margaritas, tacos, appetizers, and even the desserts. I’m happy that this SoCal restaurant has a location so close to me in Scottsdale!

Cielito Lindo – Menu with Prices – 3687 Kings Row, Reno

Visited 8/30/19 – We love tacos, and we love trying new local restaurants, and the food at Cielito Lindo was pretty good. We went for Happy Hour $1 tacos and 2-for-1 HH margs, can’t beat that! The selections of meats were pretty limited to the basics, but they were fresh and tasty and didn’t skimp on the amount of meat, even for the HH price. When we came back for a second visit, also HH, the dining room was pretty empty, there were maybe 2 others tables finishing their food. We ordered and got chips & bean dip pretty quickly, but things went downhill from there. We waited a while for the first round of tacos, had to ask for salsa, finally got waters, and were still waiting for the rest of our taco order when a large group came in and was seated. The server seemed to divert her attention to them, and we waited some more for the rest of our order. Finally, someone else appeared from the kitchen area with our tacos, and we ate quickly and waited some more for the check. I suspect anyone else coming in after the large group would be out of luck for service. Overall, pretty tasty tacos but clearly the service or staffing is hit or miss? It’s not close to home, so even $1 tacos probably wouldn’t be enough of a draw to make it a regular stop.
