Glad I sat at the bar, Stacy seemed to be their best employee. I enjoyed 2 beers and the chipotle quesadillas. The quesadillas were surprisingly tasty and I’d recommend them if you are having trouble deciding. Only thing is that they came with WAY too much condiments. More salsa, sour cream, and guacamole than I knew what to do with. The other staff didn’t seem as friendly and many other customers were trying to pay at the bar because their servers hadn’t come back. Stacy was outgoing and actually seemed to like her job here. The folks next to me got the cob salad and it also looked real good. The place was very busy and possibly a bit unorganized. Given that there are only 2 options for food and drinks in this terminal, I think they are doing great.

Burger Joint – Menu with Prices – John F. Kennedy International Airport, Terminal 7, Jamaica

JFK Terminal 7 is the home to some of the airport’s international carriers, British Airways and domestic carrier, Alaska Airlines. The terminal is “under construction” as of this review. Security – What’s the point of TSA Precheck when you need to remove all your electronics from your bags? This was the case here. Granted, it went fairly quickly (aside from the big family in front of me), but I feel like its a hassle to remove everything when they advertise that you don’t have to remove everything. Amenities – There wasn’t much at this terminal. A few subpar restaurants in their food court, a couple of Hudson new stands, and a duty free store. Restaurants were in line with airport pricing. The website for the airport says there’s a Starbucks, subway and a few other places, but probably because of the construction, those places are no more. Gate – I flew Alaska on this trip, and their gates were at 11 and 12, which were down a few flights of stairs, away from the rest of the gates. The gate area was small and cramped for an 170 person flight, especially when the gate next to you was also departing about the same time as yours, so you could imagine how crowded it was there. The only “bright side” to being in this terminal is watching British Airways and their “Queen of the Skies,” Boeing 747-400s come into the gate. Other than that, JFK Terminal 7 really needs alot of work. Like badly.

Vi-Ann Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 1020 Notre Dame Ave, Winnipeg

had the shittiest service in a long long time at Vi Ann Restaurant – got our food fairly fast, complained to waitress about a chicken satay dish that tasted so badly of shrimp it was inedible, was told i was getting charged for it anyway, had to remind her 3/4 of the way through dinner that she hadnt even brought our drinks yet, then when paying the bill…get this…while doing my debit transaction, she was actually filing her nails…. not going back, too bad because we live down the street

Cowboy Surfer Grill – Menu with Prices – 387 Magnolia Ave #106, Corona

Cowabungaaa dude! This place is a hidden cafe of greatness. It’s located in Corona down Ontario Street and Magnolia and for whatever reason I have never noticed it before. I wish I did though. The food is great! Service is awesome! I loved how cheerful and down to earth the servers were even on a national holiday. Normally when it’s a national holiday and you find somewhere that’s actually open the staff members are grumpy for having to work that day lol So that was my expectation and I was pleasantly surprised. Now I’m not sure if the servers were the owners of the establishment or not, but they did seem to be very involved and were overseeing all operations. Very nice people though! I liked that they were outgoing and had their own sense of humor that they were not afraid to show. They made sure the food was exactly as ordered. I highly recommend the Cristi’s CPB burrito was soooo good! I opted out on the onions and jalapeños. It was so filling and yummy! My friend had an omelette and hash browns. He enjoyed his food but couldn’t finish it either. Portions are pretty big. You definitely get your money’s worth.

Taters Half Baked Menu with Prices 6616 Ruppsville Rd, Allentown

We have eaten here twice. Both times, the food was good. The problem is always the service. The 1st time, it was busy and someone had called in. They would have needed more help, that one person wouldn’t have been enough. I don’t know if the servers work the bars too, but it was crazy. So, we decided to give them another shot, wow, what a huge mistake! We waited an hour just to get drinks from the hostess, because a waitress never came. They passed us a bunch of times, but never stopped. In the end the hostess also took our orders. This is fine, but she kept waiting for the servers to help us and they didn’t. I understand that’s not her job, but when your servers are that bad you have to step up OR no one is going to have a job. Now 3 out of 4 of us were bartenders and servers at one point in our lives, so we know what it’s like (which makes it even worse). If the kitchen’s backed up, tell us, and ask if we want another drink. We could have had 2 more rounds of drinks while we were waiting. They were trying to tell us how slammed they were. There weren’t that many tables, with people at. The two servers should have been able to handle that, especially because they don’t even serve the food. Someone from the kitchen does. Then we sat there watching them, bringing one or two drinks out at a time. How about using a tray, and saving yourself a lot of time, and in turn wait on more people, and make better tips. It’s a win-win for everyone. If the servers are overwhelmed, then the hostess or manager should jump in. It is such a shame that poor management will ruin this place. The food is good. I love the venue for shows, but I really feel like the restaurant and the way it is run, is going to drag the whole place down. Here’s an idea, on a night there’s a show, put more staff on, and train these servers. Use trays for drinks. Check back with people. We got there at 6:30, and it took almost 2 hours to get one round of drinks, 4 orders of fries, and an order of wings. The first hour was just waiting for someone to take our drink order. If the show would have started on time, we would have missed the 1st hour of it. We won’t be eating there again. Next time, we’ll eat at home or stop somewhere else, then just go in and see the show.

Luau Maui Hawaiian BBQ – Menu with Prices – 1060 E Harriman Pl, San Bernardino

This visit was quite possibly the worst I have ever experienced here! We placed a “to go” order and one of the things this restaurant is known for is their Hawaiian sauces. We got our order home and it looked like it had been thrown into the packaging. Then the food had zero sauce on any of our food. We looked to see if they put the sauce in separate containers and there was nothing. I had to drive back to the restaurant and tell the cashier that I needed sauce so I could eat my order . She just gave me this smirk like I was bothering her or something. She never offered even a simple apology, nothing but the smirk, oh yeah and we ordered an extra side of their famous macaroni salad too. This was the worst tasting salad I have ever eaten. I have eaten many salads over the years, by the way! We couldn’t eat more than a couple of bites and then threw the rest away. It was bad! And, it too was thrown in it’s container. I was very unhappy to have spent as much as I did on what ended up in my trash.

Read Street BBQ – Menu with Prices – 421 Read St, Evansville

First time visit from great recommendations from a Facebook group. Very clean and welcoming decor looked like a real bbq shack. The sauces and napkins in the cheap tool box was kinda silly. and very sloppy. We ordered 3 meat meal with 2 sides. we got the mac and cheese and promptly returned it for green beans and baked beans. The mac and cheese was just not right. like it hadnt been cooked long enough for all the cheese to melt together. Her green beans were very overcooked and looked sad. The baked beans were pretty good but a little spicy for my taste. We chose brisket and ribs. The brisket was spot on and the ribs had a good taste but a dry rib. The smoke ring on the brisket looked like a liquid ring not a smoke ring but the flavor was good. Probably not quite worth the money as other commercial bbq places but the food was decent. We did ask after we ordered and were sitting down about burnt ends. The waitress said no and then asked what they were. Kind of disapointing in a bbq shack.

Mondrian South Beach Hotel – Menu with Prices – 1100 West Ave, Miami Beach

SIMPLY PUT: WORST HOTEL IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA…..Scroll down to the photos if you don’t want to read my full review but I’m going to describe everything that happened step by step in my 24 hour stay at this hotel. Here it goes: 1. I arrived at 10pm last night to check in and everything went smoothly, and the front desk staff were very nice. 2. I went upstairs to my room and found HAIR IN THE BATHROOM SINK, HAIR IN THE MATTRESS, SMOKED CIGARETTE BUTT ON THE BALCONY, TRASH ON THE BEDROOM RUG, DIRT ON THE KITCHEN SINK HANDLE. 3. Then I called downstairs and spoke with ANTHONY, who is very polite and respectful, who offered to “upgrade” me to a better room. The only difference in the new room was that it had a better view, otherwise it was the same exact room. 4. I then asked Anthony to speak with the nighttime manager, STACY LYNSUE, who was RAISING HER VOICE, CUTTING ME OFF, NOT LISTENING TO ME OR MY CONCERNS, and then proceeded to say that she will refund me the $30 resort fee and “upgrade” me to an identical room. 5. I was then taken up to the second room by Anthony, where the first thing I saw was A FULL TRAY OF HALF EATEN ROOM SERVICE FOOD RIGHT OUTSIDE THE DOOR OF THE ROOM. 6. Once I walked into the second room, there were MULTIPLE PIECES OF PAPER AND PLASTIC TRASH ON THE LIVING ROOM FLOOR AND LIVING ROOM COUCH. There was also CIGARETTE ASH ON THE BATHROOM TOWEL! 7. At this point, I was obviously tired since it was almost midnight, but I could not stay in the second room given the trash everywhere so I was forced to ask for a different room. If it weren’t 12am, I would have left the hotel but I was exhausted and in no mood to start searching for other hotels. 8. I then went downstairs to speak with STACY LYNSUE in person about my concerns. When I met STACY at the front desk, she treated me exactly the same way she did when I spoke with her earlier on the phone. STACY WAS RUDE, SHORT, CONSTANTLY INTERRUPTING ME WHEN I WAS CALMLY TRYING TO JUST EXPRESS MY CONCERNS TO HER and then SHE SIGHED AND ROLLED HER EYES AT ME RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY FACE! 9. At this point, I told her exactly this: “I don’t appreciate the way that you are treating me given these circumstances and I expect more respect from a hotel assistant manager than to sigh and roll your eyes at me. Her reply to this was “SIR I DID NOT ROLL MY EYES AT YOU.” I then replied to her “EXCUSE ME, BUT I JUST SAW YOU SIGH AND ROLL YOUR EYES, YOU ARE STANDING RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME”. She had no reply to this. 10. I then went up to the THIRD ROOM which STACY told me was inspected by Anthony and confirmed to be cleaned. I hate to make assumptions but how do I know Anthony didn’t just go into the room a few minutes before and cleaned up any obvious trash or any other signs of filth right before I went up there? But at this point 2 hours had passed since I got to the hotel and I had no choice but to go up to the THIRD ROOM. 11. Upon walking into the THIRD ROOM, everything seemed clean upon first inspection, and then I saw LITTLE HAIRS SCATTERED AROUND THE TOILET SEAT!! (See photos below) 12. You can imagine how I felt at this point, but I could not stay in this room and was subsequently switched to yet A FOURTH ROOM which was totally clean until I looked at the bed and found DIRT STAINS ON THE BEDSHEETS!! (See photos below) 13. At this point, I could no longer bounce around from room to room and simply told Anthony that I would stay in this room as long as the bedsheets were replaced with clean ones. Anthony’s reply was exactly this: “THERE IS NO ONE HERE OVERNIGHT IN THE HOUSEKEEPING DEPARTMENT AND THERE IS NO ONE ELSE HERE THAT IS TRAINED IN REPLACING BEDSHEETS”….I WAS UTTERLY SHOCKED AND SPEECHLESS WITH THIS ANSWER!!! “TRAINED IN REPLACING BEDSHEETS?!?!?!?!?”, is this a joke?? 14. Anthony then replied to me saying that he would change the sheets himself but it would take “a little time&#

American Airlines Flagship Lounge | JFK Terminal 8 – Menu with Prices – Terminal 8, Jamaica

American Airlines flagship service is good and seems to be improving all the time. As I stepped into the terminal, I saw a sign for AA Flagship so I was able to bypass some extra wait time and proceed to priority security check in. Nice! From there it was only another few steps to the lounge. I opted for fine fining instead of the buffet. Service was good but not excellent. There were two servers for the small assortment of travelers and unfortunately I got the slower, not as attentive server. Oh well – I’m not exactly suffering! The menu items were interesting and the food okay. Since I had breakfast I didn’t have opportunity to have any of the bar drinks. I do wish they had better coffee but some people love it (people who don’t understand coffee ). I actually like the items on the buffet, however for comparison purposes, the food offerings in the LAX Flagship lounge are 3-4 times as many. For a major airport, I was surprised that the buffet was much, much smaller – still fresh though! For a domestic flight to LAX, I love it. I’m glad AA is coming back.

Dillas Quesadillas – Menu with Prices – 855 Pierremont Rd #135, Shreveport

Amazing. If you leave here hungry you have bigger issues to deal with. The quesadillas are made to order using fresh ingredients. They have creative quesadillas or best of all you can build your own. They have so many delicious dipping sauces. The staff is very friendly professional and smiling as if they like their job. They make you feel welcomed. Great affordable prices. Each quesadilla comes with 2 sides. Their fries are amazing and seasoned. Their cookie is delicious.

Poke The Bear Bar & Grill – Hotel Northland – Green Bay – Menu with Prices – 304 N Adams St, Green Bay

Strange Name/Go Back to Paper Menus/Expensive/Nice Workers in the Pub! Well, my title says a lot! Green Bay is trying and we commend – the Hotel Northland Autograph Collection has so much potential and a beautiful buliding and setting – but it is missing on so many details, and the bottom line is it is expensive – we really noticed at Poke The Bear (again, what does this name refer to?). Mike, dear tender of the bar, and a manager I assume?, was terrific and very attentive and kind and fun to talk to – Bonus. Stacy, a sweet red-head too was present and again, a kind soul and ready to assist. I ordered a glass of “bubbles” – was hoping for sparkling pinot/pink bubbles – none but they did have Sofia (sparkling) – very good – found out at the close-out $14/glass. I felt compeled to order a snack (one should not feel this way!) so, ordered smoked/spiced nuts and marinated olives – the nuts were perfect if you like way too smoky…my husband ate them (because they were cashews and almonds – but way too smoky). The olives were literally drenched in oil. Hard to enjoy and bland. Again, nice folks work at PTB. Charged for the club soda from the gun, and $50 +. Too much for most midwesterners who all love a good deal. Keep trying folks with the details and working big kinks out. Thank you for attentive service. M and N W.

Maude’s SideCar Bar – Menu with Prices – 71-99 SE 2 Pl, Gainesville

We all have watering holes where we meet with fellow humans, and Maude’s Side Car Bar, located in the center of the known universe at the Sun Center in downtown Gainesville, FL is one of those special places. Right next door to the Hippodrome State Theater, it is a wonderful place to get a cold drink before or after the show. Full disclosure: Maudes side car bar is roughly the dimensions of a walk-in closet; this may in turn evoke comments such as “cozy,” “intimate,” “claustrophobic,” or possibly “enforced invasion of personal space.” It’s small, people! Fifteen people is a mob scene. But the bartenders are friendly, compassionate human beings, however, and so have very generous drink specials throughout the week. Wednesday through Friday happy hours are not for folks looking for a complimentary taco bar and a game on the TV. This is serious happy hour, folks. Jazz plays through the amazing sound system at the SCB and the bartender has a menu of mixed drinks to choose from, or let him make a drink that is invented on the spot. No TV, so you have to talk to the person sitting next to you. Like I said, this could be a good or bad thing, depending on your perspective!
