Had a chance to go to PF Chang’s recently. It had been a late night for me, and I hadn’t had a chance to get dinner early before a meeting I had, so I was looking for a place to eat after the meeting. Walked in and was seated immediately, no issues. It was right at the end of the evening, but not at that “5 minutes before closing” time… I had a good 45 minutes before the doors shut, so I wasn’t “that guy”. Looking over the menu things have changed yet again since the last time I was in a PF Changs. This is nice… they have the main go-to’s that don’t change, but there are other items on the menu that regularly change out, and that is nice to have a change. As I was there late, it wasn’t busy, so the noise level was absolutely tolerable. I know that was one of my big complaints the last time I was at this location, but this time it was not an issue. For an appetizer I ordered up the lettuce wraps, which were a lot of fun and quite tasty. I got through most of it before my order of the pad thai came through (with extra chili sauce, because I am a glutton for punishment when it comes to spiciness). Looking at the two plates, I decided to just dump the leftover lettuce wraps on top of the pad thai and mix it all in… it would work… and it did. Since the last time I was here, I think that they have maintained their quality. Reading over what I ordered last time, I see that I managed to order the exact same thing… go figure… I probably need to go again a bit sooner and try something different. I am going to keep my four star rating, because I have a feeling when it is packed (like on a Friday night) it is still too loud. If I could give 4 and a half, I would in this case, because I think that the only problem the place has is the reflected noise of the ceiling during busy times.

Tropical Smoothie Cafe – Menu with Prices – 5455 Gull Rd Suite A, Kalamazoo

Glad to have another quick-serve place to eat in the Gull Road area. I’ve been here twice and used some coupons that were sent out for the grand opening. Honestly I ordered food both times, and did not try the smoothies yet. They have over 2 dozen different ones available, made with fresh fruit! I am a little disappointed that the smoothies only come in one size, 24oz, for $5.00. I would prefer a smaller option for less $. Their wraps and flatbread offerings have a nice variety of flavors: Caribbean, pesto, Thai, buffalo, and some others. The wraps I had were flavorful and packed full of the ingredients. The quality of the chicken is just OK. It reminds me of the type of chicken that you’d find in an entree from the freezer aisle. I would still order these wraps again, but if the chicken was fresh grilled chicken breast it would make these wraps top-notch.

Thai Food Corner – Menu with Prices – 5253 E Brown Rd # 104, Mesa

My Mom is from Thailand and I’ve grown up with Thai cuisine. This is probably the worst “Thai restaurant” I have ever been to. The Larb was served on a lot of lettuce barely any meat. The red curry had absolutely no curry or coconut milk taste it looked and tasted like a bowl of oil. The cook came out and said he was still hungover from last night which made sense considering the food was so awful. If you want Americanized Thai food this is the place to go. I should’ve know better.. any Thai restaurant that has orange chicken on the menu is a red flag.

Sweet Basil – Menu with Prices – 143 Marshall St, Syracuse

When Sweet Basil first opened on Marshall Street I got Pad Thai and Fried Rice here quite often, even though I felt it was way overpriced compared to other Thai restaurants in Syracuse. But it was good and it was convenient, since I work on campus. But my schedule changed and I hadn’t been there for a while. The first thing I noticed was a name change to Taste of Asia. I wasn’t sure if this was a dumbing down of the name or an actual change in ownership/management. Also when I walked in it was pretty empty, but had never been the case before. I ordered Chicken Pad Thai and Beef Fried Rice and got it promptly (probably because the kitchen wasn’t very busy). When I got it home it seemed like a skimpy amount for the price (especially compared to the Erawan, which is my go-to place recently). The Pad Thai was okay, nothing special, and the Fried Rice just seemed nonsubstantial. Hard to explain, but it was just rice and the beef — it seemed like there were no veggies or scrambled egg or other things I expect in a good Fried Rice.So all in all, it was okay, but I won’t go back there. It’s worth the drive out to Erie Boulevard to the Erawan or to Liverpool and the AppeThaising for a better experience.

Thai Thai House Palm Bay – Menu with Prices – 215 Palm Bay Rd NE, Melbourne

We went for late lunch, so it wasn’t very busy. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean. We ordered the Thai spring rolls for an appetizer, and they were okay, but would have been better with more shrimp or the addition of pork which we are accustom to, also need a little less lettuce replaced with basil. My wife ordered a sushi roll (in picture) she enjoyed it and was surprised by how big it was when it arrived. My daughter ordered the chicken pad Thai (2nd pic), both my wife and I tried some and were pleased with the flavor. I ordered the chicken panang, it tasted great, there was a decent amount of chicken, but it needed more vegetables. It literally had 1 small broccoli floret and 4 small slivers of red bell pepper. The bowl was mostly sauce. My daughter and I had the lunch special which included a bowl of Miso soup for $9.95. not a great price but not awful. My thoughts are Okay food, reasonably priced although I feel for what we got the lunch should’ve been either a dollar less or included a drink. Our service was fast, but it was during a slower part of the day, caution because I have read a few reviews where the service wasn’t so good.

Texas Steak Express – Lubbock North – Menu with Prices – 606 W Loop 289, Lubbock

Wow, the customer service I just received was actualy hurtful. i called up for delivery and was placed on immediate hold for 5 minutes, before ordering not an anectotal five minutes, but a -my phone shows length of calls -actual five minutes. This is typical with steak express and i usually let it go but due to the way i was treated, i’m gonna go ahead and put that out there too. then I placed my order and after i reminded them that on a previous order they had left off two orders of rolls and i was promised a free desert the next time i ordered. now further detail on that.. when they messed up my order on the previous order i was cool and told em they didnt have to send a driver out, and the guy promised me a free desert on my next order. so Natasha looked at the notes and said it was noted i could have the rolls on the next order. I replied can you please check my history and see if thats the decision you wanna go with. I order lots with them steaks and such, 75 dollar tickets i thought this info would help my cause but i swear i feel it put them in combat mode. she checked with her manager dani of which… she just laid the phone down and i heard the entire conversation and it wasnt flattering..and came back telling me, i checked, thats the decision… i asked to speak to dani and when dani came to the phone i reminded that night i was cool and didnt request the driver come back and everything was thankful and nice and now that im calling in the item promised, with an order i was told it wasnt the case. the response was very cold that dani noted it up and that wasnt the case. i then asked dani to look and ask if my history was visible and dani said yes however that was the decision. i informed Dani they had just lost my business. also note this was the first time i ever asked them to correct an order although other things have been messed up in the past. i had never looked at thier rating here because its delivery, i usually like to check in and rate, but… it looks like others get the same treatment.. such a shame, i’ll miss having steak delivered, but i wont be called a liar or treated this way.

Fuel House Cafe – Menu with Prices – 1144 Hylan Blvd, Staten Island

So time after time we want to have a good experience but it’s not so. Once, we ate in and waitied for food for over 45 minutes. I ordered chicken wings and they were the worse wings I’ve had in my life. Turned out that they were breaded. The waitress had no idea. I wanted to eat gluten free food but that didn’t happen. The wings were also covered in fat. Next time, I ordered a Cuban wrap and a side order of sweet potato fries but instead they delivered some chilli fries. Today, we are busy cleaning and decided once again to order from Fuel so called ‘healthy place.’ Ordered a Cuban wrap for my 5 year old and myself. His and my wrap had rotten lettuce in it. Need I say more? This is our last time giving this place a chance.

Bangkok Square @North Gainesville – Menu with Prices – 8181 NW 39th Ln #100, NW 39th Ave, Gainesville

So last week we went to a restaurant in the same strip mall as Bangkok Square, and had noticed that it was there. We had looked at the menu and decided that we had to try it sometime. Well, that sometime happened a week later. We got in around seven and had a table instantly. It is summer, so things aren’t so busy with students and the like. The restaurant is more open than most Thai restaurants that I have experienced, and more light comes in from the windows so that you can see, which is nice. There is also a patio on the South side that should be nice in the late Fall and Winter months, particularly since it is not overlooking 39th Avenue. I ordered the fresh rolls as an appetizer, along with the Tom Yum soup. The rolls were good, but a bit on the small side. The soup was quite good, though. I am a total sucker for Tom Yum soup. For my main course I ordered the green curry “Thai Hot”. The curry was good, don’t get me wrong, but either my concept of what “Thai Hot” should be is completely skewed, or I received the American version of the concept, because frankly it barely registered. I would call it a medium spice level, a bit above jalapeno, but not at the level of habanero. Still tasty, mind you… just not all that spicy. For a local Thai restaurant, I am happy that they have opened here, as it gives my more options closer to home, and I don’t have to drive to the other side of Gainesville. I will be returning at some point to try something different in the next couple of months, I am sure.

A La Mode Oriental – Menu with Prices – 137 E 45th St, New York

6 minutes until closing on a Friday night/Saturday morning and we were still able to order take-out. Awesome. Especially since I know some places will ask you to come pick it up when it’s close to closing. My friend and I ordered: Scallion pancakes ($6) Egg rolls 3 pc ($6) Chicken and broccoli ($14) Singapore noodles ($14) *side note: my friend and I had the munchies after a night of drinking. Had no issues with delivery as other people have mentioned. Overall, the food was good. No complaint. (We had left overs the next day when we were sober as well.lol). Was it “best take out ever!” good? no, but we were satisfied. My favorite out of the bunch was the Singapore noodles. I would pass on the egg rolls and scallion pancakes. I’ve had better. Price wise I think it’s more on the expensive side but we live in midtown not Chinatown. And I’m sure there are Thai items on the menu since the description is labeled as a Thai place, but we didn’t order any Thai dish. So don’t know about those dishes. I’ll still keep this place as one of the places we can order for take out.

Dragon Express / Pho Vietnam Express – Menu with Prices – 678 E St, Chula Vista

I was looking for pho in the area and came across this place. The reviews all seem so great so I decided to give it a try. All everyone sayd about this place is that its in a run down ghetto place. Thats definitely not the case. I ordered orange chicken, shrimp fried rice, y eggrolls, and large pho. My total came out to $35 a bit more than what i usually pay at my regular pho place. It was good but it wasnt the best like everyone says. Rice kinda tasted like it had been cooked since the morning and just sitting under heat. Orange chicken was ehh. The egg rolls where good. The pho was a big portion but it wasnt all that tasty it was missing lots of flavor. I was extremely disappointed since I was sick and pho was the only thing I was craving. I dont think i will be giving this place a second chance. I’ll most likely stick to my original pho place even if its a bit further.

Knuckle Sandwiches Menu with Prices 1149 Broad St, Augusta

Late night, greasy, tipsy food heaven! Used to come down here as a college student after long nights downtown. Fries are the bomb, really enjoy the chicken wings as well. The Thai chili sauce is excellent. Expect GREASY, UNHEALTHY food…but hey, what’s better than a fatty snack late on a weekend night?! The wait can sometimes be long depending on time of arrival. Minimal seating inside and on the outdoor patio. Prices are cheap, food amount is more than enough. They have a decent selection of food items and always do a great job in the kitchen. We even order out on our graveyard shifts at the hospital sometimes–the perfect snack for a pick-me-up on a crazy night in the ER. Everyone in Augusta knows about Knuckle Sandwhich!

T H Dang Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 1425 Pembina Hwy, Winnipeg

Good. I try to eat pretty healthy and when I ordered the wrap it yourself lettuce wraps, hold the rice paper+vermicelli noodles and add extra lettuce and veggies, they were more than willing to accommodate with no questions. Their portions are good and always tastes great. Love the flavour of their pho broth as star anise really presents itself as the stronger flavour. I recommend this Vietnamese restaurant (as there aren’t a lot of Vietnamese restaurants in the south area) and this seems to always get it right!

Fahrenheit Pizza & Brewhouse Menu with Prices 17 Lee St S, Asheville

Ok folks. Our first try here. The typical – I read so so many great posts I just had to come. So we did. Small establishment neat and clean . Staff was attentive and kind. Now let’s get to the action. You order at counter then take a seat. My pics explain the pies and calzone. My calzone was just ok. I guess I’m a spoiled long islander but growing up in NY the pizza mecca. I just expected a crust to be lighter more airy and yet still a bite. Very scarse ricotta. Mozzarella was aplenty. ( dont think its poll-o ) not much sausage or mushrooms. I so wanted it to be killer. I really did. With that said I would order a pie next time. My wife had the 16″vodka. She said it was ok so with that I took it she wasnt overwhelmed. My daughters half pepperoni I’m sorry to say was severly undercooked mostly bottom center of hers she stated sauce was to sweet. She prefers we stick with standard pizza. My son had the other half of that 16″ his was bbq chicken . He said the cheese was to thick and very minimal chicken. I also tried each of the different pies. I really wasnt overly impressed. We will try it again as I feel ALMOST everyone deserves a second chance. With soda drinks it was 57 dollars and some change. Standard n favillas are tough to beat. But no one in Asheville has yet to produce a true NY pie. It’s a combination of dough, sauce, proper cheese spices. And most of all the fold. A fold without “the drip” isnt pizza folks. If your from NY you know what I mean
