Every year the organization I am involved with through my job hosts a charity golf tournament. I have been involved with it for the past 4 years and every year the tournament is hosted a different golf course. Onion Creek is a private club. You can only play here is you are a member, know a member or playing in a tournament. It is a beautiful property and area of the city. The staff that we worked with were all super nice and helpful as well. All the feedback I got from everyone was that they loved playing here because of the elite status of the course and they normally don’t get to play it. It is a beautiful course and plays well. One thing that I heard from some of the golfers was that it was hard to figure out which hole was which when getting started because the holes aren’t numbered. One other thing that could have been better in my opinion was the food. It was ok. We had burgers and chips. – nothing fancy. If you are looking for a course to play this is definitely a place to consider if you live in the area or know a member.

If I could rate this golf course in the negatives I would! This course is one of the worst golf courses I have ever played and it is an absolute waste of money! I played in a tournament here over the weekend not knowing the conditions and when I should up I thought I was on a Goat pasture. The course is absolutely horrible with bare dirt everywhere and absolutely no difference between rough and fairway. Every bunker had no sand in it and dirt was clearly visible. The golf course literally looks like it shut down 15 years ago and has not been maintained since. Not a single green was cut the same making it impossible to make a single putt, it was also so bumpy it was like putting of the road. The fairways were barren of any grass and the only good lies you get are if you place the ball on a weed. The staff at the golf course, if You can even call it that, are extremely rude. We showed up for a 9 am shot gun and were told the director of golf decided to send everyone off of 1 instead so he could put public play out on the back nine. Mean while 70 college club golfers are now sitting around for 3 hours waiting for each one of us to tee off. Oh and the first day wasn’t any better when we showed up and the club had sent out to many public groups out before the tournament so they ran out of carts for us so we had to delay 70 groups an hour to wait for carts to begin the shotgun start . The tournament was booked 3 months in advance so they should have been prepared! I absolutely advise you to not spend your money out here and to not give your money to these rude people. There are 1000 better golf course to play in the local area with much nicer people for the money.

Country Club of Ocala – Menu with Prices – 6823 SE 12th Cir, Ocala

When potential members are considering a new â?? or in the case of Florida, another â?? country club to join, there are several criteria that come into play. Typically, at or near, the top of the list are amenities and dining; price (i.e. initiation fees, monthly dues, etc.) ultimately figures into the equation as well. When taking these features into consideration, you will find that the Country Club of Ocala has it all. Founded in 1994, the Country Club of Ocala provides its members and their guests a place to gather and share their high-quality lifestyle standards. Members from all walks of life have made the Country Club of Ocala their club of choice and have enjoyed the improvements that Hampton Golf has made since taking over the club in late 2016. I spoke with several members who had nothing but great things to say about Hampton Golf and how they are in the process of taking the club to the next level. Previous management had made renovations to the golf course and left many of their improvements unfinished. Hampton has stepped up to the plate and is seeing things through to completion; as a result, the course and facility are in their best shape in years. The main clubhouse and banquet center have gone through a complete makeover and the tennis and fitness center are due to be renovated this summer. Tennis plays a big part at the Country Club of Ocala. Tennis enthusiasts will enjoy five clay hydro courts and two hard courts, a well-organized tournament schedule and a constant inter-club play calendar. Whether you are seeking a leisurely game or some intense competition, you are sure to find what you are looking for at the Country Club of Ocala. The fitness center and pool share the same clubhouse as the tennis center. The fitness center is equipped with lots of cardio equipment and free weights and a staff that will see to it that you get the most out of your workout without hurting yourself. Small group classes like boot camp and yoga are also available to help round out your exercise regimen. A massage therapist is available by appointment. The centerpiece of the club is the 18-hole championship golf course designed by architect Steve Nugent. This scenic, par 72 layout can play as tough or as easy as you like; it all depends on the tees you choose. Doglegs, well-manicured water hazards and strategically placed bunkers will challenge golfers of all abilities. Sloped fairways and elevation changes add to the challenge. The course favors a well thought out strategy from a straight hitter over a longball hitter although length is a definite advantage on a couple of the par 5 holes. The greens are well-manicured and feature considerable undulation to challenge your putting game. Keep your tee shots in the fairway and your approach shots below the hole and youâ??re bound to do well. There are several memorable holes out here, but none more than the closing hole on each nine. Number 9 is a par 4 that plays 405 yards from the White Tees and takes two very well executed shots to reach the green Youâ??ll want to keep the ball right of the tee to avoid the water that runs down the left of the fairway. The water sits well below the raised fairway so, even if you flirt with the left side, youâ??ll most likely leave yourself a tough approach shot. If youâ??re playing up the right side, be sure to avoid the pot bunker, which also makes for a difficult 2nd. Your approach shot plays downhill to a large green that is fronted by a big oak tree on the right side and a lake on the left. Anything hit to the right will likely find the sand. The green slopes severely from back to front. No wonder why this is the #1 handicapped hole on the course. From the White Tees, Number 18 is a short par 5 that plays 468 yards and has a large pond that must be carried to get on the green. The hole plays slightly downhill and has several oaks along the way that hug the fairway. A good drive leaves a great risk/reward opportunity, but youâ??ll have to carry your shot onto this shallow green. A large bunker on the right side in the landing area in fro

Honestly, I was rather suprised that this layout was quite good. My expectations were low. I booked this course for the first time for meeting a friend from Orlando as we wanted a golf course that gave us an equal drive to/from our respective homes. We play a lot of golf courses and were both impressed by the quality landscaping, elevation changes, practice areas and overall laid back nature of the property. I’d probably play about a half-dozen shots completely different on a second visit, but I did not know any better today since I was literally playing blind without a yardage book and without anyone who knew the course. That should also tell you there’s some creativity in its design. The Par 3’s play long, while many Par 4’s play on the shorter side. Par 5’s are legit and greens are large. Greens and fairways were hard, with fairways in average condition as probably the only real downside to the whole experience. Putting on these greens is not easy at all. There’s a ton of subtle slope in many of them and we caught quite a few difficult hole locations on this particular day. For those of you who know other Tampa Bay Area golf courses, I would compare some holes here to Sherman Hills and a few others to Countryside Country Club or Lake Jovita. That’s a compliment. Because my friend was playing his first 18 holes off a serious lower leg injury that required surgery and over two months of rest and rehabilitation, we played blue tees at just over 6000 yards and found it very fair at that distance. (Tips add about 500 more yards to the card) We paid a rack rate of $38 for the weekday, late morning tee time direct from the pro shop. Pace of play was fine after the first 5-6 holes and we were actually done in just over 3 1/2 hours with a brisk pace on the back nine.

Double Eagle Club Menu with Prices 2603 Washington Rd, Augusta

I went to the Masters again this year (2016) on Sunday (the final round) and I don’t know if it’s because I haven’t been to the Masters in 4 years or because I’ve been playing run-of-the-mill public courses recently, but Augusta National appeared to be in the best shape I’ve ever seen it. This was my 4th trip to the Masters (all of my visits have been on Sunday) and I treat every trip like it will be my last. Who knows when I will get another opportunity to visit? It’s the toughest “ticket” to get in sports. I put ticket in quotes because you don’t get into Masters tournament rounds with tickets; you get into them with badges. Badges that remain with the same people, same families, for decades. For the great majority of golfers and golf fans, the Masters is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, one of the Meccas of golf (along with the Old Course at St. Andrews, Pebble Beach, etc.). Danny Willett won the tournament this year. I still remember who won in the other years I’ve gone: Trevor Immelman in 2008, Charl Schwartzel in 2011, and Bubba Watson in 2012. So in the years I’ve gone, two South Africans, an American, and an Englishman have won. This year, we entered through Gate 6A on Old Berckman’s Rd. The other entrance is Gate 9, also on Old Berckman’s Rd, but on the south side. There are only two entrances for patrons to my knowledge and I don’t know why they call them Gate 6A and Gate 9. I consider Gate 6A the main entrance because it’s closest to the clubhouse and puts you alongside the practice range and putting green. Gate 9 puts you in at 5 green, 6 tee. It’s close to the popular par 3 16th hole and not far from Amen Corner (holes 11, 12, 13). We entered through Gate 9 in 2011. It seemed less congested. There are two big golf shops inside the grounds at Augusta. The best one to go to is the “South Village” golf shop just inside Gate 9. I had never been to this golf shop, at least in its current form, until this year. It’s so much bigger and nicer compared to the “main” golf shop near Gate 6A and the clubhouse. It pretty much feels like walking into a Polo Ralph Lauren or Brooks Brothers outlet store. Lots of gifts and apparel and even a fitting room which the other golf shop does not have. The “bad” thing about going to the Masters on Sunday is the golf shops will be sold out of all the best items. This means the best color hats, shirts, sweaters, pullovers, etc. It’s really hard for me to find stuff in my size (small) in colors I like. The pickings are slim. This is the advantage of going to the Masters earlier in the week. I always buy lots of stuff in the golf shops, both gifts and things for myself, probably more than I should. This year, I got a couple nice Masters Tech pullovers (one light blue, the other green) to play golf in, a Masters belt (what was I thinking?), a Masters teddy bear caddie for my niece, ball markers, an official program (I’ve gotten one every year that I’ve gone), and more. I’ve assembled a nice little Masters wardrobe and golf accessories inventory over the years. I’ve purchased ball markers in the past because they make great gifts. The markers I got this year I intend to use. I wish I could’ve gotten a white Masters hat (don’t have that color yet) as well as one of the pullovers in either white, navy, black, or gray, but all the golf shops were completely sold out of those colors. Perhaps items to put on my friend’s shopping list for next year. I ate one egg salad and two pimento cheese sandwiches. They’re still only $1.50 a pop and quite delicious. In past years, I’ve spent most of my time watching players on the second nine. This year, I wanted to check out the first nine. We spent time in the observation stands at 8 green and 13 green / 14 tee. Most of our time was spent at the latter where we watched nearly half the fie

Saddle Rock Golf Course Menu with Prices 21705 E Arapahoe Rd, Aurora

I was here a couple weeks ago for a golf tournament, and this course is awesome! Before you read further, I am around an 18 handicap and shoot in the mid to high 80’s at an average course, and low to mid 90’s at a tougher course. Granted, I did not have to pay normal greens fees since we were playing in a best-ball tournament, but it’s right around $40 for a round to walk. For the quality of the course, I would be willing to come back for this price. I will say that there are some pretty good climbs and distance between certain holes (crossing the road on a few) so if you don’t usually walk, I would suggest getting a cart. The range doesn’t look like much when you are approaching it, but it is very large and well-marked with yardage signs. The layout of the course is great, with challenging, long holes even from the white (middle) tees. Just to give you an idea, on one of the par 5’s a teammate drove it nearly 360 yards (downhill all the way) and we were still sitting around 230-240 into the green. Also, you definitely have to be able to control your ball off the tee, because you will not find it if you hit through the rough. With that being said, there are a few shorter holes (300-350 yards) that will give you a couple of options leading up. You can try and drive it close for an easy pitch, or play it short and leave yourself an easy wedge into the green. Speaking of greens, they are TOUGH. Our team couldn’t seem to make many putts that were over 15 feet. You definitely want to be conscious of the green before hitting your approach shot because the greens have a lot of break to them. For us it seemed really easy to 2-putt because we’d get the speed down, but the ball would always seem to end up just a bit above or below the hole, even after reading each other’s putts. The staff was really accommodating for us as a group and the food that we had for lunch was great! Our group wound up winning so we had some gift cards to the pro shop. They had 30% off of all apparel and 20% off of shoes, and some really good brands. Obviously not a huge selection, but pretty good prices. I picked up a Titleist glove and some Footjoy shoes for around $110. Overall, I was really happy that I got to play in the tournament we held at this course. You only get one chance at a first impression, and this course left a great one on me. I plan on being back again this summer!

TPC Treviso Bay – Menu with Prices – 9800 Treviso Bay Blvd, Naples

Pro V1 practice balls at the driving range. The entire course, plus the practice facility, was super lush and green. Putting surfaces on the greens were in great shape with very few ball marks, although some weak spots were observed on the perimeter and outside collars. GPS distances via Android tablets in the golf carts. Interactive hole maps to determine layup distances on par 5s and trouble spots on par 4s on tee off and approach shots. Ice contained in the on-board cooler. Full service bathroom structures as well as water coolers in between. Towel included in golf cart. Did not see a beer-cart boy/girl/woman/man. Would absolutely play here again. Pace of play, two-some, 18 holes, under 4 hours with one group letting us play through. Overall excellent course, beautiful scenery, would absolutely play here again.

Daniel Island Park Club – Menu with Prices – 715 Island Park Dr, Daniel Island

I had the opportunity to dine and go to a few events at the D.I. club and enjoyed it thoroughly. But I am only going to review the golf experiences I have had there, as this review would soon resemble a novel, if I were to put to words how enjoyable the clubs other attributes are. The 18 hole “Ralston Creek” is an exciting 18 hole regulation course, where you need to step up your game a notch, if not these 2 courses will cut you in half.. From the longest tees, the course plays to about 7,446 yards of golf for a par of 72, that my friends is about current U.S.OPEN length, with a lower slope rating though.course rating is 74.4 with a slope rating of 134. The Nationwide tour still hosts an event here and truthfully, if there were the room for bleachers, concessions and transportation. With a few weeks work to narrow the fairways and toughen up the greens, I believe the PGA could host an event here, it is that good. The course was designed by Rees Jones and opened in 2006. The 18-hole “Beresford Creek” course at the Daniel Island Club features 7,093 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72 . This is the older of the two courses and opened around 2000.The course rating at Beresford Creek is 74.4 and it has a slope rating of 134, so it plays shorter, but no less difficult.

Arrowood Golf Course – Menu with Prices – 5201 Village Dr, Oceanside

Let me preface this by saying I have been playing golf since I was able to walk, spent 8 years as an assistant and head golf professional and am a low single digit handicap. I recently moved to the Arrowood neighborhood from Palm Desert and one of the main selling points was the proximity to Arrowood Golf Club. This was my first time playing Arrowood. From what I had heard Arrowood was a hidden jewel tucked away up here in North Oceanside. Made sense because in the twelve years I lived in the North County in the past I had never heard of the place. So I was pretty excited to check out the golf course. I had looked into membership at Arrowood, which is semi-private and has dues of $350 per month for unlimited golf. For the amount I traditionally play this works out to a great deal even though rates are quite reasonable as it is. I arrived to the golf course for my 12:30 time at 12:15 which is pretty normal for me. Being I was mid move still I needed shoes, a glove, balls, etc. so upon checking in with the pro shop I paid my greens fee, bought a pair of Foot Joys and a glove for around $170 and was on my way. The starter was right outside so I checked in with him as I left the shop. He was pairing me with another single he was having a hard time locating so I asked if I should load up on a cart. He explained to me that the policy of the course is to have two riders for each cart. I understand that, and the reasons why but being that it was very quiet at the course, I needed to possibly leave early for a meeting and the fact that I am a smoker I asked if it would be possible if I could ride separately. Typically two carts will move faster, satisfy all of my previously stated issues and is just more comfortable if it is possible. The starter rudely came back at me saying if I want a delegate cart I was going to have to go back in the shop and pay for it. Put off by the rude way he said this I made my way back in the shop where I stood alone for about five minutes until Joe (assistant pro) finally came from the back area and seemed confused by the whole thing. He came around the counter to speak to the starter. After they chatted he came back in the shop and to my surprise asked me for $16 more to take my own cart. Here I am, a brand new resident and prospective member, just dropped $170 in your pro shop on a Monday afternoon in December and your going to hit me with an extra cart fee. In my 8 years as a golf professional I would never have charged this fee but looked at it as a good one to waive showing the customer and prospective member that we appreciate his business both playing here as well as buying equipment from the shop knowing full well he could have gotten the same things much cheaper at Golf Mart down the street. Whatever, left a bad taste in my mouth but I wasn’t going to let it ruin my day. We made our way to the first tee and off we went. The golf course was fantastic. Heavy rough and quick greens that were a bit beat up but overall not bad. Pace of play was less than stellar but from what people were saying that was unusual for the course. Beverage service on the course was decent and at the turn was ok. Had to leave after the 15th hole which was a bummer but winter days and slow golf don’t go well together. Overall the course and its amenities were deserving of four stars with potential for five. The service in the shop and from the starter probably took membership off the table for me and really bummed me out being that I just moved a block away from the clubhouse.

Hole 19 Miniature Golf Bar Huntington Beach – Menu with Prices – 21010 Pacific Coast Hwy, Huntington Beach

I heard about this place through a Facebook video and I honestly can’t believe that no one’s written a Yelp review about it yet? Tickets: We purchased our tickets online for like $8 each and we chose a reservation time on their calendar. Atmosphere: It’s a whimsical mini golf course and bar in Huntington Beach. It has a beautiful ocean view and there are 9 holes to golf which are honestly minimally done, but fun none-the-less! The views are spectacular, it’s such a cute pop-up to visit. We were a bit underwhelmed when we entered, because we thought it would be bigger inside but we ended up having a great time. They have 2 beer pong tables, a huge Connect 4, and an arcade game inside. The only let-down of our experience was that families were taking up the tables and booths and they weren’t buying anything or playing on the mini-golf course. They were pretty much just occupying the tables or leaving their stuff on the booths so no one else could sit there. Drinks: May the Course be With You – 3.5/5 the drink was a smaller portion for being $13. It was tasty, but not very strong. British Bastard – 4.5/5 it was refreshing and I really enjoyed the little golf tee decoration. This one was perfect for a beach day drink and I would order it again. Restrooms: They do not have a restroom inside this establishment. If you need to use a restroom they have a public bathroom available in the mall itself. Overall: I am really happy that we visited Hole 19. The golf course attendant and bartender were nice and welcoming! The parking for this mall was kind of a mess… we ended up being 30 minutes late because the lots were full and the street parking was crowded due to the US Open of Surfing. If you end up finding a parking spot in the mall, it’s $3 per hour.

The Flagstick Golf – Menu with Prices – 4436 Veterans Memorial Blvd, Metairie

I take my 12 year old daughter to Flagstick to practice her golf swings a few times a week. It is a great place to improve your game, or just hang out with family and friends. It’s nice and clean, staff are super friendly. And they have nice equipments to improve your golf game indoor with a/c. How cool is that?! Also, the manager, Brooke, also a golf couch, is super nice. She does not hesitate to give customers points to improve their swings even if they are not her students. My daughter had a few lessons with Brooke and her swings have improved tremendously! She got her first eagle yesterday. Not bad for a 12 year old who just started playing golf 3 months ago! Love this place and the people working there. Highly recommended.

Cove Cay Golf Club – Menu with Prices – 2612 Cove Cay Dr, Clearwater

Times change, new things happen and other factors influence your choice of Golf Course especially when youâ??re not a Member of a Club.We have developed a small Portfolio of courses we regularly use ranging from Sarasota, Ruskin, Bradenton and St Petersburg/Tampa plus going up to Brooksville (occasionally). We used play quite a lot at Cove Cay which was our go-to Course in the past but it dropped off our regular schedule a couple of years back (maybe longer). This was mainly due to Green Fees going up which is totally understandable if there are tangible improvements in the Golf Course, but not sure weâ??ve seen this as weâ??d hoped. So we gave it another shot. The Staff there were very pleasant and accommodating and very helpful. We enjoyed our round but not sure that the Course has improved that much.In fairness the torrential rains havenâ??t helped but some (not all) of the greens could be better and the same comment applies to some of the Bunkers.Itâ??s situated in a Condo complex off the 19 but due to road reconstruction you canâ??t access it (Northbound) as you used to.You get great views, thereâ??s a ton of water on a lot of the holes so itâ??s a test of your Course management.Plus thereâ??s some beautiful wildlife around.

SummerGlen Golf Course – Menu with Prices – 1450 SW 154th Street Rd, Ocala

I played the SummerGlen Golf Club outside of Ocala, Florida, on 12/2/15 while driving from Clearwater to Myrtle Beach. The par 72 course is located in a gated retirement community about 2.5 miles directly off I-75 at Exit 341 for Dunellon. The course was easy to find. You can’t see the course from the Interstate because there is a high berm all around the community. On some holes this berm works to the player’s advantage because it kicked shots back toward the fairway. I had driven past the community on numerous occasions and knew a course was there but never had time to stop and play. I played the Blue tees which is one of six sets of tees available. The Blue tees play to 6,261 yards with a rating of 69.5 and slope of 125. The various tees play from 6,673 yards for the Gold tees to the Purple tees of 4,081 yards with a rating of 63.7 and slope of 100. The design is the centerpiece of a retirement community, and as such, is very playable for players of all abilities if they play the right set of tee boxes. The tees and greens were all elevated and it looked as if there were ponds or marsh areas that had dried up on almost every hole. When I asked if these areas had all been water at one point, I was told no. I don’t know if walking was an option, but the course looked very walkable. I had my Sky Caddie which of course helped when playing an unfamiliar course. You do need to call ahead for a tee time as the guard at the gate had my name on a tee sheet and checked before issuing a pass to enter. Most of the holes were different from each other and presented some unique challenges because some of the greens were very small and/or well-guarded. I took pictures of a few holes. Because the many of the holes had wide landing areas, I felt comfortable trying to cut loose with big swings off some of the tees. The 11th hole, in particular, is a teaser because it was 297 yards from the blue tee (confirmed by the Sky Caddie), goes over water to the left, and features a green blocked by tall trees left and right. I couldn’t resist the challenge and took the ball on a straight line over the tall trees, and was able to clear everything and leave an approach from about 20 yards to the pin. Some of the other holes had wide enough landing areas to invite ‘letting the big dog eat’. The course has par five finishing holes on the 9th and 18th holes with a dogleg left on #9 skirting the driving range, and a slight dogleg right on #18 with a forced carry on the second shot if you hit the first shot far enough. Service I called the course a day ahead and was encouraged to come up and play. Everybody was very friendly and encouraged coming back. The starter/cart attendant at the end of both nines asked me how I liked the course, and other players I ran into were all very friendly. There was drinking water on four holes. I did notice two bathroom facilities on the 5th and 15th holes. There are a lot of houses around the course, and personal golf carts were everywhere. Overall Condition The course was in good condition throughout all eighteen holes. All of the fairways and roughs were in good shape, and the conditioning is geared toward the retired residents. The greens were a little slower than I am used to, and were small and firm and held shots well. All greens seemed to putt true. Sand traps were not numerous, but were in acceptable condition. Clubhouse/Amenities This course has a restaurant in the clubhouse and it seemed well used and busy. There were plenty of personal golf carts parked outside of it without golf clubs on them when I made the turn. There was also a generous driving range and practice green, but I didn’t get to utilize any of those facilities due to time constraints. Value I played the course at 10:44 AM at a rate of $36 plus tax. I did ask if they had a senior rate and the girl laughed because she said almost everybody there was a senior. In summation, I was glad that I finally got a chance to
