Decided to go here for a night out and chose this particular location due to the great reviews. Once I got here we were able to get in quickly and did not have any issues having my ID checked. Walked up to the bar and honestly not sure because I was dressed causal and different color of skin I received bad service. The bartender decided to flat out ignore me when I was trying to order a round of drinks. I was skipped several times until I had to clearly get her attention. Once I got the bartender attention she was very rude and did not treat me with respect. When I went to pay out she threw my receipt and pen for me to sign as if I was nothing. I found this completely disrespectful for a place that prides itself in being different compared to most bars. As for the DJ the music was not bad it was just very randomize throughout the night going from an upbeat tempo to a slow tempo and mixing genres of music that killed the vibes. Definitely will not be going back to this location primarily because of the service I received at the bar.

The Independent Distillery – Menu with Prices – 30 S Arizona Ave, Tucson

Worst experience in a Bar. I have never written a Yelp review before but I had, had such a terrible experience, that it drove me to share and write about a distillery that will purposely intestinally serve you a non acholic drink ,and charge you 10 $ for it. By far the worst drinks in my life. I am a huge fan of gin but when a bartender serves you two drinks in a row with no gin or alcohol in it. He is clearly making fun of you.I had first ordered a Pimm’s cup, without warning he switch the drink completely without putting any mint or lemon and replaced it with strawberry and ginger ale with no gin it. I was frustrated that he had not warned me from the beginning that he did not had all the ingredients for the drink and had completely switch to a coca cola ginger ale strawberry drink with no gin. After being a little frustrated I had asked him to serve me the drink that my friend had order an aviation, for after sipping his drink it was clearly perfectly made I could taste the good gin. When he gave me the new drink I had order, the aviation he had put no gin it and replace it with sugar instead. This was a clear sign of him having no respect toward me. I was kind and polite toward the bartender throughout the night. But I drawl the line when a bartender intentionally serves you twice in a row a non acholic drink. I could tell he knew how to make an aviation for he had perfectly falsely made my friend an aviation. But a bartender that will intentionally serve you a non acholic drink and charge you for it is completely unprofessional and doesn’t deserve to be a working at a distillery.

Smokah Lounge & Bar – Menu with Prices – 250 Commercial St, Worcester

What?? So racist. We went a group of 5. Was nice in the beginning but when we spoke in English they got weird with us. They never paid attention to any of us anymore and their service sucked. Plus they started talking about us (rudely) to the table next to us thinking we didn’t understand their language. So disrespectful we would never go back in there. And by the way when you get a mixed crowd try changing that trashy loud music

The Broken Egg Menu with Prices 221 N Main St, Ann Arbor

Terrible service from the hostess. My boyfriend and I planned on splitting our check. However, we were given our check without asking so both our meals were on one receipt. As my boyfriend was trying to explain that we wanted to pay separately to the hostess (you bring your receipt to the front to cash out) the women proceeded to take his card snap at him and then ignore him while he was talking. He called me over to ask her myself. The first thing out of her mouth was “that’s your servers job” I responded “We didn’t even ask for the bill and figured it wouldn’t be an issue for you charge us separate” she then stated “Well if everyone that worked here just did their job…” Finally, when I asked her to go find our server to re-write the checks she decided she would charge us separately. This took her maybe 30 seconds. When one other small party of people came in to be seated she shouted at us “SEE this is why I don’t do this! people are waiting!” It took her longer to be difficult than it would have to just split the check. I was especially disappointed in the lack of respect that my boyfriend received. Unfortunately, after reading other reviews, I am concluding a lot of poor treatment here stems from racism. As soon as I got involved (I am a white female) she split the check where as before my significant other (black male) was completely disrespected and ignored. I will do my best to share my experience here with others and hopefully spread the word of ignorance in this “establishment”.

The High Note – Menu with Prices – 645 N James Lovell St, Milwaukee

I take my sisters and mom here to celebrate one of their birthdays and Mother’s Day. We all wanted to karaoke. I tip the KJ $20 and I would think that would give us some priority in terms of frequency of singing. We were there for 3 hours and I got to sing 2x. Plus you practically have to run up to the stage because the guy starts playing your song immediately after the next one ends. Then I close out and the bartender simply does not pay attention, has a stack of credit cards runs one and has me sign and when she hands me the card it’s someone else’s card with a completely different name. It was just all in all not the best experience.

Vorshayâ??s Cocktail Lounge – Menu with Prices – 417 E Douglas Ave, Wichita

Vorshay’s is a beautiful old building, and many of the old touches are left in the building. The music, the night I went, was Piper Leigh, and she is fantastic!!The drinks were very good, but not so much the bartending staff. They did not pay attention to all of their customers (there were 3 bartenders behind the bar) Although I was greeted when I came in, after that I was ignored for about 5 minutes until I waved down the bartender and ordered my drinks. One of the bartenders was making one drink at a time (and the place was packed!!) He was very nice but needs some training. I was told they serve food but I did not try it as I had just eaten. All i all, not too bad, I just wish the bartenders would pay more attention tl ALL the customers and not just a few, and also be a bit quicker.

Captain Ray’s Buffet and Sushi – Menu with Prices – 5957 E Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk

Upon entering, I noticed that 99% of the black patrons in the place were all ushered to one section of the building – the first section on the right as you walk in the front door when the projector TV plays on the wall. I thought it was a coincidence until I was treated like a criminal over an error that the non English speaking Asian immigrant employees made on my bill. First, the Asian woman who brought my credit card and the credit card receipt to the table came back just 2 minutes later pointing at the signature line on the receipt without saying a word. I know where to sign a credit card receipt and dont need some fresh off the boat waitress telling me to sign. She obviously was rushing me to sign because she feared I was not going to sign and walk out. She was rude and unprofessional – and I know this treatment was based on a fear that the black people are likely to try to get out of paying. I signed and resumed my meal when another non English speaking woman comes to my table with another bill that was $4 more than the one I had just paid. She was abrupt and loud as if we were trying to avoid paying. Other patrons were looking at us so it was embarrassing. Why were we being treated like this? She kept shouting “4 dollar” in broken English over and over. Without a coherent explanation from anyone, I figured out that the bill I had just paid did not include the 2 drinks we had and they were bring a revised bill to show me what it should have been. Since this woman was not gracious and never apologized for the inconvenience, I insisted that she acknowledge THEIR error that created this problem. I made her say she was sorry before giving her 4 dollars cash and leaving. I post this story because I want African Americans to be aware of their treatment from Asian owned business like this. Most – NOT ALL – do not respect black patrons and see them as untrustworthy. This is why I was treated like this today and why the section where I was ushered to sit had 9 other tables with all blacks and only 1 table of blacks in all of other sections in the building – I counted. WAKE UP BLACK PEOPLE! You know what I have talking about if you have been in a beauty supply or convenience store that Asians own – you have encountered this or know someone who has. Patronize only those businesses that respect you. This is not one of them.

Salty Bear Brewing – Menu with Prices – 2948 Randolph Ave Unit C, Costa Mesa

Salty Bear? More like Salty Bartenders. I walk up to the bar with my friend, and these bartenders are just standing there as if I’m invisible. After standing there for five minutes with no other customers asking for drinks, I waved my hand at them to get there attention and they just walked away without any acknowledgement that they’ll be right with me, and tended to other customers who clearly had their glasses still full of beer. We figured it may be because they were busy, but as I looked around, to me there were hardly anyone lined up or ready to order more beer. So we shifted to the other side of the bar to see if we can get their attention. Again, one of the same bartenders that ignored us the first time walks passed us and serves these other people next to us that clearly arrived after us. So we asked this guy to help us who seemed to be working as a bartender too. But he told us he can’t help us because he’s just a brewer and walked away without even telling one of the bartenders that we were waiting. Funny thing is when we asked him, he literally just served two existing customers more beer. Confusing. 15 minutes later of literally sitting at the bar with hardly anyone at the bar asking for drinks, I get the bartender’s attention and she finally asks what we wanted. She did not seem friendly at all towards us and no eye contact. Yes, you could have your bad days and things might get busy for you, but these days, a customer’s first impression is everything. Since I told her that I’d like to close my tab, she put my credit card in the machine and handed it to me to sign, but the machine had issues because of network connections. I kept trying to call them over for help but I noticed all of them were in the back away from the bar and drinking out of water bottles. Eventually I figured it out after resetting the machine, so hopefully it went through. I was so confused and wondered if it was because me and my friend were one of the few Asians there. Because as I looked at all these non-Asians getting immediate requests and the nice friendly greeting or smiles, you can’t help but think this was a racial discrimination thing. And I sure hope it isn’t, because California/OC is a pretty diverse area. Regardless of how cool this place is and how much I really wanted to like it, I won’t be back. I’ve lived in NYC before and been to breweries/bars way busier than this one and you get the cold bartenders from time to time.. that’s understandable, you’re dealing with a lot of people. But this was hardly the case that night for me that night. Eventually you should have the courtesy to acknowledge a customer’s presence and say you’ll get back to them. Work on your customer service and treat everyone with respect. We genuinely came to Salty Bear to support your new business and have a good time. Instead, we felt really unwelcome and “Salty”.

Dorm Menu with Prices 1232 Weathervane Ln, Akron

Music should be catered to those who want to dance. It’s difficult to get the Dj’s attention and there is no sign up sheet.

Thirsty Pallet – Menu with Prices – 249 W 4th St, Winston-Salem

Was kicked out and accosted for ordering drinks. The bartender was mad about us playing music on the jukebox. She “had too hard of a day” so she took our drinks away and told us to cash out at 7:45 pm. “Not today!” Was the brave charge she gave to other patrons as we were told to leave. Please give our condolences to your owner for ordering drinks, playing music, and trying to have fun. I was under the impression that the bartender’s critical banter and ironic dress was a positive sign of a vetted server. However I was rudely awaken to the fact that any criticism to her was an immediate cut of her persona. Any music against her sensitive taste was fatal death blow to her false facade and will likely land you in a quick dismissal and ostracism from this raging animus tender. Other bartenders will serve without issue but be warned!

Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews – Menu with Prices – 8057 W Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy, Kissimmee

Absolutely TERRIBLE service. Or rather LACK thereof. My party and I arrived an hour and a half before closing this evening and while we were seated immediately, NO ONE even came to our table introduce themselves let alone take our drink orders. We sat for 20 minutes and NOTHING!! The place wasn’t even crowded at all for a Sunday night. There were probably about 8 different tables and everyone around us were kept waiting from what we could see. There was a table next to us, a party of 8, who kept waiting to pay for their dinner to the point one of them for up with their receipt and money and walked into the kitchen with their money because they had been waiting too long and they just wanted to leave. After 20min, my party and I decided to get up and leave since we had been waiting and waiting and WAITING and yet no one came to our table. On our way out, our friend walked up to the bar area and informed the bartender of what had happened and that we were leaving. The bartender’s response was “Oh, OK. Bye”. Not even the hostess was at the front to express our frustration to. If this is what Res Robin calls “customer service”, then it has a LONG way to go. Again, the restaurant was not crowded at all, other tables all around us were visibly waiting for food, refills, waiting to pay. We hardly saw ANY staff around. Will definitely NOT be visiting this location again, or any other Red Robin location for that matter. This seems to be an ongoing problem at other RR locations we’ve been to.

The Vortex Menu with Prices 1167 Brittain Rd, Akron

the bartender was asked if they served a certain brand of beer and these supposed owner came over and suggested we should possibly read the menu. It was our first time there. There Were Ten of us ready to spend money in his establishment. One of our friends was already intoxicated although she had no interest in driving a vehicle nor had she driven one and she had already been given an ice water. When the supposed owner got smart with the young lady who asked about a certain brand of beer she got a little smart back saying she was just asking at that point he said you were no longer drinking any beer tonight. There is no reason for this man to treat this young lady so disrespectfully. At that point he became so disrespectful to all of us we no longer felt the need to treat him respectfully so we were exiting his establishment keep in mind we had all purchased $30 tickets to enter so that was $300 we paid to enter his bar that night we had been there for all of two minutes. He followed us outside saying he was going to call the police there was 10 of us we were all women and he was so threatened by us apparently where he thought he should call the police or maybe he thought he would get our license number… much to his surprise we were in a limo so he really couldn’t call the police and report what we will be driving away in because none of us were drinking and driving. There is no reason for someone who owns such a dive bar to disrespect 10 women who were dressed respectfully one of which who was already drinking ice water when the only question that was asked was do you sell Michelob Ultra or something to that effect. It was a simple question it required a simple answer it did not require a smart mouth or a disrespectful attitude. It seems as though he saw $300 walk to his door and decided he already had his commission for the night but what he did not now is he could have made a significant amount of money for the rest of the evening because we would have spent money because we did have a limo to drive us 45 minutes back home so who’s loss is it really? I would never recommend going there no matter what the venue is ever again to anyone for any reason because just because his arms are big doesn’t mean he’s a big tough guy because all he saw was ten little girls and felt he needed to call the police. At no point did we have any intention of being disrespectful to his bartender or him until we were shown such disrespect. We are all in the same industry so we would never have been disrespectful to his serving staff… so once again I say shame on him

Cutters Cigar & Spirits Menu with Prices 4915 Windward Pkwy, Alpharetta

This cigar bar is really nice. I only gave it three stars because I felt like the bartender could have been a lot nicer to my friend and I. I ordered the old fashion and it was really good, my friend was looking for a nice sweet drink and the bartender told her that they did not have any sweet drinks. The second bartender who was singing at the time came over and made a sex on the beach for someone else. When my friend asked her what it was she told her it was a sex on the beach and that she could make her one as well. So the first bartender told us a lie. She was also really snotty by letting us know we had to purchase a cigar if we were going to sit at the bar and order a drink. Which I think is common sense if I came to a cigar bar then I definitely came to smoke a cigar. Needless to say they had a nice atmosphere nice older crowd and great music I just did not like the service that my friend and I received. The cigars were really nice though I think I had a caramel mocha flavored one.
