Two Stars is for the taste of the food as it was decent, but noting to rave or recommend to friends about. And One of the two stars for Giovanni, whom otherwise we would have walked out. Had made reservations for two in advance and even showed up 15mins early in case the place was busy…it wasn’t. The restaurant has several dining areas and it appeared quite dead when we arrived except for a few scattered tables. We were seated near the sushi bar which had 2 other tables of 2 in the section. So far so good. Then came the bad. We sat at our table patiently awaiting our server to come greet and introduce themself, but no one ever came. There were about 7 to 8 people wandering around who made brief eye contact but kept moving as if they didn’t want to acknowledge we were trying to flag someone down. 10mins goes by and not a soul comes by to check on us or even offer water. I raised my hand as if I was in preschool to ask for some service yet the 3 people in the vicinity quickly scooter away without even a glance. After reading the menu four times over and 15mins into waiting we were about to stand up and walk out when a main dining room server named Giovanni noticed my frustration and came by to ask if anyone has stopped by to assist. Absolutely not I stated and that we were about to walk out. Aside from this young man trying to take care of our table that did not belong to his section no one else acknowledged our presence EVER. The other contributing factors to the low review is the fact the kitchen staff wasn’t able to prioritize our food correctly. We ordered three appetizers and two entrees expecting to eat our entrees together…nope That didn’t happen The first to come out was two appetizers on one plate and a main entree, our miso cod. Thinking that was strange and perhaps the other two dishes were on their way we started to eat. Another 10-15mins goes by and no additional dishes come. Again flagging someone down I not only had to ask once or twice, but three times for someone to check on our second appetizer which came after we had finished the first two and dug halfway into the entree as if we waited it would have gotten cold. Waiting another 5mins The third app finally came out with the second entree trailing about 3mins afterwards. The food was okay, as mentioned before. Nothing wow’ d us with the taste. Plating was nicely done though. Paid about $$ ($60+) for a waygu steak (second entree) that didn’t resemble waygu as there was a good amount of fat cap on one side of the steak which was pre sliced. Aside from about 1oz of fat of a small waygu steak we trimmed it was nicely cooked. The appetizers were small and just ‘okay’. The uni left my gf’s stomach a bit upset so not sure if it was the quality or the freshness. And the waygu tataki was just bleh….8pcs thin slices of seared waygu rolled around some veggies and crema on top with light ponzu. Totally not worth the price. Long story short, we ordered $200 worth of food between 2x sashimi apps, 2x waygu dishes, and miso cod. Felt a bit overpriced for what it was but whatever’s, we just wanted to leave. Paid the bill and handed Giovanni 20% cash tip. No way was I going to allow this young man to share tips with others in that restaurant who couldn’t care two seconds to acknowledge us. Also, throughout the entire time not a single manager or other staff member came by to check on us nor apologize for the mishap in the beginning. Would we recommend. NOPE Service: terrible (aside from Giovanni) Food: mediocre For the price we spent we could have gotten much better quality food elsewhere, and we do not mind spending for food.

Fujiya House – Menu with Prices – 1489 Carl D. Silver Pkwy, Fredericksburg

I went there and ordered NY steak and shrimp. Steak to be cooked medium rare. When it was plated it looked yellow and pink. I told my friend something wasn’t right. I tried a small bite and it was soar and smelt rancid. The cook told the waitress and when she came to table she said “what do you want me to do about it”. I told her it was bad and I couldn’t eat it. She just looked at me and said again “what do you want me to do about it “. I had to tell her to throw it out and take it off my check. Never did a manager come to table but I could see the waitress talk to him across the room and he just patted her on the back. I pray someone checked the other steak in back and didnt serve anyone else the NY steak. I will never go back and plan on never recommending this place again. Bad steak and bad customer service.

Carmen’s Market & Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 9610 1st View St, Norfolk

Came in with my Girlfriend, excited to have some Hispanic food. Ordered three pupusas as appetizers and got two entrees and planned on dessert since they had a personal favorite of mine, plátano empanadas. We were THE ONLY PEOPLE IN THE RESTAURANT!! Remember that. First We ordered the pupusas, then my lady orders her food, then I. The amount of confusion i felt when my entree came out with the appetizer. Only mine. So we address this to the server, who proceeded to flip through her book and then say something like “oh ok, I’ll run back and put it in as an appetizer so it’ll be out quick”. Can you smell the bull? Calling food an entree or an appetizer won’t speed up nor slow down the cooking process. We won’t address the insult to our intelligence. Shortly after, I get up because it was taking too long and tell her I wanted to cancel the other entree and to just give me a check for what I have. A woman who I’m assuming is the owner, approached and asked what was going on. THE WAITRESS THEN LIED AND SAID I DIDNT ORDER MY GIRLFRIENDS FOOD UNTIL LATER!! She did it in Spanish assuming I couldn’t speak Spanish. Obviously called her out on it. She didn’t expect that. The owner did an excellent job at trying to handle the situation, which I did very much appreciate. There was no bill and she offered a box for what was at the table. The restaurant was empty, the order was still messed up, then the waitress lied on me in MY FACE!! No thank you. I left pissed off and no longer hungry. Ruined my appetite. Went down the street to a bar and drank instead. I am a bartender and I’ve served tables. The service was horrible and should be replaced or at the very least trained. If you’re thinking of going here, don’t. If you decide to risk it, lower your expectations.

Firewall Food Stop Menu with Prices 1546 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd SW, Atlanta

I used Firewall Food Stop for the catering at my wedding in March, and could not be happier with how everything turned out. The reception venue had a place for Food Truck parking, so we had them bring the truck over, to prepare and serve the guests at our wedding. The food was delicious, and we have heard nothing but rave reviews from the guests that attended the event. Sam provided an awesome buffet line, as well as wood fired pizzas for the main course (cooked on the truck). The buffet included their specialty sandwiches/hummus/veggies/appetizers, so guests could eat some smaller dishes, while they awaited their pizza orders. Our wedding had approximately 130 guests in attendance. With that many people, the main issue we wanted to avoid, was prolonged waiting times for pizzas. Sam’s planning and expertise ensured everything went off without a hitch. I would HIGHLY recommend using them for any/all catering needs! They are the best!

Hibachi Express – Menu with Prices – 3862 Trenton Rd Suite A, Clarksville

The service was great! Super friendly when I went in to pick up our food. Even gave a free fountain drink when I decided to get a drink at the last minute while I was waiting for them to finish our food (the wait was not long though, we ordered on line.) My husband said the steak wasn’t great, I got the hibachi chicken and the chicken was good! I wasn’t crazy about the yum-yum sauce. It was more like mayonnaise and didnt have much flavor. If the sauces were better (and the steak–even though that’s not what I ate) I would have given a better star rating. Over all I will go back and try more things! The service by staff makes me want to try more!

Flat Top Hibachi Grill Menu with Prices 2504 Triplett Blvd, Akron

I’ve been meaning to check out Hibachi Xpress for quite some time now. I love me some hibachi food, but it’s a little out of my college student price range to indulge often. Hibachi Xpress seemed like it would fill my needs, with a single entree starting at 12 dollars. For 19 dollars, I got the triple entree. The meal comes with your choice of proteins, fried rice, vegetables, your choice of sauce, and a fortune cookie. I ordered chicken, steak, and shrimp, with yum-yum sauce, and steamed rice instead of fried rice. The food took around 10 minutes to cook, so I just watched the kung fu movie on the TV. The woman working the counter mentioned that the chef threw in a free egg roll, so that was pretty cool. About the food: The chicken, shrimp, and vegetables were cooked well and seasoned perfectly. The egg roll was fried nicely as well. I would definitely pay for the chicken, shrimp, and egg roll again. The steak, rice, and fortune cookie were underwhelming. (I know, I know, a bad fortune cookie? Yeah, it tasted old and was smashed.) The steak tasted like gristle. I could taste that it was a cheap cut. The rice wasn’t cooked properly either, too grainy. It was definitely bland as well. So all things considered, I might pay for a single entree if I’m in a pinch. Otherwise, I’d go to my good old stand-by hibachi place where I get more, better quality food.

Placido’s Pasta Shop – Menu with Prices – 120 Shelton Mcmurphey Blvd #110, Eugene

Food is delicious! And great prices to match exquisite food. You can tell it truly is made with love and attention to detail and flavor. However, I wish this business cared about having servers that cared, employees that work together, or just hire people who know what their doing. Our service was extremely slow, there were moments we had to get up and ask for things because she was no where to be found. Even had to ask to order in general and get up and see where our drinks were after 15mins. She seemed extremely new and new to serving. There were two other much more experienced people serving that didn?t even care to help, even though we feel they noticed what was going on. They could tell we were standing around, basically begging to pay the check at the end also and get out of there. It took our server 10mins, too to give us change. By this time we were pretty fed up. We even went and sat down by the door to wait. We really didn?t find that acceptable… maybe we?ll be back if that changes.

Black Thai Restaurant & Lounge – Menu with Prices – 710 Main St, Myrtle Beach

Amazing service and very good food. The portions were huge too, we got so much for our money. One thing that my partner and I liked is that they have reusable straws, so no waste at this place. Our server knew the menu inside and out, so he was able to help my partner order around her food restrictions. The appetizers were okay, but the entrees were amazing. The chicken satey was a little dry, in case you were wanting to try that and don’t like drier foods. Our main entrees were amazing, like I said. The rice was nice and moist, the vegetables were cooked just how i like them, and the beef/chicken was really tender. Presentation was pretty nice too, see the pictures of my entree below to get an idea. Depending the time of day, parking isn’t too bad. So far this is our favorite Thai place in the area, but we still have one more to try. If you’re looking for some good Thai close to the beach, definitely check this place out.

DC Oakes Brewhouse And Eatery – Menu with Prices – 3581 E Harmony Rd #110, Fort Collins

Was staying in a hotel across the parking lot for 3 nights, we ate here every night and every single item we ordered was cooked perfectly. The buffalo sauce has the perfect spice, the appetizers are excellent and not the basic run of the mill apps you find at other restaurants. I had the pbat(pork belly, avocado, tomato) and the steak bacon marmalade, as well as wings, fried pickles, calamari, and cheese curds and tots for appetizers. Then you add in the amazing beers they have and the happy hour, I’m not exaggerating when I say this is easily one of the top 3 restaurants I’ve ever been to. Ambiance, friendly staff, AMAZING food and beer. You have to check them out!

Boar & Barrel – Menu with Prices – 101 N Hamilton St, Madison

Stopped here after a nearby restaurant we originally wanted to eat at had a 45 minute wait. We should have known when there were only 3 or 4 people in the entire restaurant at 6 on a Monday that is probably less than a 100 yd from a restaurant where 50 or more people are waiting in line for a seat should have been a sign. When we entered we stood at the front for a minute or 2 before the bartender actually let us now that he would get someone to have a seeded. He popped his head outside the side door and magically a young man named Robert appeared & seated us promptly. Within 5 minutes of being seated we all know what we wanted to order. Approximately 20 minutes after submitting our order Robert returned to the table to let 2 of the members of our party know that there was no prosciutto available for their Italian sandwiches and that they needed to select something else. Fast forward another 40 minutes when we still do not have our entrees. During this time period Robert was chatting up a rather handsome young man and an Iowa Hawkeye t-shirt and ignoring our table along with a couple sitting at the front window that we’re finished with their food and patiently waiting for their check. Eventually the couple flags him down and we basically blurt out ‘how much longer will our entrees be?’. Within minutes our meals magically appear. One person’s order was completely inaccurate and another’s was ice cold, most likely due to the fact that it was ready to go over 40 minutes ago when he learned there was no prosciutto because he stopped talking to the gentleman in the Iowa shirt long enough to find out. The tagliatelle bolognese was so cold the mountain of cheese on top wouldn’t melt. We flagged Robert over and told him that the pasta was ice cold and he asked if we would like it reheated and instead we told him it could be returned to the kitchen and deducted from our check. The person who’s order was prepared inaccurately shared her issue and he let her know that the dish could be quickly remedied and reduced that price by 50%. I think the real problem occurred when he picked up the pasta dish in a very flamboyant way making a scene walking back to the kitchen while opening the swinging door with such gusto that it made a horrible clatter. So much so that the 5 new people that were now in the restaurant all immediately turned their head to see what had occurred as well as the bartender. In the end most of us left with a lack luster meal or no meal at all. So yes if you would like to have a great place to view the capital this is probably a great place to grab a drink from the bar, but please have dinner somewhere else. If dinner is your main objective I say walk on by.

Sakura Hibachi Steakhouse & Sushi – Menu with Prices – 3370 State St Suite 8, Salt Lake City

Visiting Utah and was in the mood from some hibachi. Now considering I’m from Miami and we have Samurai and Benihana, which provide great food and delicious shrimp sauce, my appetites was hoping this would be similar. Fellow Yelpers said this was a great spot, and it was open vs another location we were interested that was closed. 1st thing I see was an ALL YOU CAN EAT SIGN.. so before assuming it was a buffet, we got off and asked.. So what’s the catch ? It’s all you can eat for $20.. for dinner, meaning you get a full 4 course meal where they cook for you, and you can continue ordering more but it’ll just come from the kitchen, same menu though. What did it include ? An appetizer, a soup, main entree with includes fried rice and you can combine, AND a sushi roll.. only thing missing is dessert.. now that’s a deal for an appetite.. so my fellow want a full meal and some people, come here.. The appetizer of the salt and pepper shrimp wasn’t that great, it’s the full shrimp, fried and you have to peel apart.. the miso soup was ok, and the main dish was great.. steak and shrimp for me.. steak was a little bland, but shrimp was flavorful.. fried rice is exactly that, fried rice with egg, no chicken.. ( and sauces ARE NOT like samurai or Benihana).. but it all hit the spot How filling is it ? We ate at 5pm and didn’t eat until the next day.. I have them 4 starts since it was quick, place was clean, chef that cooked for us was great, and overall good food for a great price.

Faialense Sport Club – Menu with Prices – 1121 Cambridge St, Cambridge

Good food and good crowd. Seafood is fresh. And the atmosphere was amazing. We got to know and got talking to the people who were sitting right next to us. They even shared with us their homemade desserts. It was such a fun atmosphere. It felt really nice to be welcomed and be part of a community. It was definitely a different experience. The food was also fresh and the drinks were good too. The only thing is when we come back, we have to go early so that by the time our food arrives, we arent so hungry and almost past our hunger. But this is not their fault. They arent restaurant style/type. We knew this but we had to try it. We should have gone there right when they open. What I noticed is that the people cooking are great at what they do but they dont treat the ticket orders as how restaurants do. We notice that maybe due to the small kitchen, they fire up one dish at a time. So we noticed all of the fish steak dish coming out for the entire dining room, then comes next the shrimp dish etc. Then the steak…so the food for our table didnt come out all at the same time and we all didnt eat at the same time. But thats okay, we decided to share it as family style instead so we can all eat and have something. Next time, we know what to expect. The best thing about this place is that you have that table for the entire night! No one is rushing you to leave! Quite a concept for american diners isn’t it? We’ll be back!

Rick?s Cheesesteak Shop – Menu with Prices – 12971 Jefferson Ave, Newport News

I only gave it two stars because the food at least was decent. The service however was terrible. I walk into the door and the lady at the register says “Pickup for Shani??” I say “No, sorry I didnt place a pickup order.” She says “Oh, what would you like?” I place my order. She doesn’t offer to upsell me fries and a drink. She doesnt ask if I’m dining in. So I took it upon myself to ask, “can I get fries and a drink with that? And does it come with free refills if I dine in?” She says “Yeah it’ll be $4.99 more. ” She rings me up and I pay. I go sit down at a table. She calls out to me that my drink is ready. I guessed they didnt do “waiting” services since she called me upâ?..so I walked back up to get my drink. She gives me warm sweet tea in a styrofoam cup with about 5 pieces of melting ice in it. So I walk BACK up again to ask for just a cup of ice. She gives it to me in a regular “dine in” cup. Im perplexed. After about 10 minutes she calls me up again to get my food. Its all super wrapped up and in a to go bag. Again I’m perplexed. The food portion was huge, and it wasnt even cut in half so I couldnt fathom eating it without a fork. So again I walk up and ask for silverware. She hands me one fork. I said “Im sorry but do you have a knife?” She breathes deep and then reaches for the knife as if it was wearing her down to give me a friggin knife with my fork.â?.I go back to my table, sit down, unwrap my food and proceed eat. So another guy walks in (white guy). She greets him. “Hi sir, how are you today will this be for here or to go?” He says to go. He orders and she says “are you military or student?” He says no. She charges him. He gets his food and leaves. Another customer walks in. (Older white gentleman) She greets him “Hi sir how are you is this for here or to go?” He says “For here.” She takes his order and get this…. brings his drink out to him, brings his food to him in a cute little dine in basket and asks him does he need anything else. Whhhaaaaattt??? She literally came out from behind the counter and checked on him AT LEAST 2 or 3 more times!!!!! Oh and then she comes over to me and says ” you all good hun? do you need more tea” Im disgusted. Is it a race thing? Is it just bad judgement based on my appearance? (Young, black, etc.) Idk. But for her info I am a 30 year old dental hygienist, wife, & mother of 2 who just so happens to have a military ID (and would have appreciated the discount for my husbands service) as well as the proper dining in treatment/service!!! I’m disgusted. I wont be returning. And I will be telling everyone I know. Thats 5,000 facebook friends and 8,000 instagram followers alone. â?â?â?â?
