If you have had pizza or subs in and around the city chances are the dough or rolls came from here. They do have a cash and carry and they take CCs. We just bought a sheet of 9 oz pizza dough balls for five bucks! Awesome. They do have cheese, sauce, etc. Check it out.

HAKUNA MATATA PIZZA CUBANA – Menu with Prices – 395 E 10th St, Hialeah

Let’s start by saying that this is Not a restaurant, but rather, a take out pizza place. If you wish to sit and eat there you better pray there is no one else there as the only sitting possibility is limited to 4, maybe 5. We ordered 3 personal pizzas of which they messed up on one of them and had to redo, which I don’t understand since we were the only customers there at the time. The pizzas barely, barely had any sauce, to the point that I can dare say it didn’t have any. Pizza 1~ cheese: well cooked. but this pizza was bread and cheese only, no sauce. My wife lifted the majority of the cheese looking for the sauce, the dough was dry light pink, but no sauce was present. Pizza 2~ ham & bacon: the dough was cooked, but the ham and bacon were halfway cooked. It was edible, but it definitely needed more oven time. Sauce was present, but very little in the center only. Pizza 3~ bacon & pineapple: first time, they got the order wrong; they made it with bacon only, no pineapple. The second time, they made it correctly, but it was waaayyy undercooked. The bacon was mostly raw. My wife was grossed out and did not even attempt to eat it! Mind you, this was her pizza. I was going to have them cook it more, but my wife stopped me as she was grossed out and was going to throw it away regardless. I dissected the pizza looking for sauce, found pinkish dough towards the center. We had 2 ice cream milkshakes, which were not bad. We will not be returning!

Velasko Pizzeria & Deli – Menu with Prices – 4800 McDonald Rd, Syracuse

You know that saying, you never get a second chance to make a first impression, well that is true of this pizza shop. We had 2 pizzas delivered and were very happy with the delivery guy. Unfortunately we can not say the same about the pizza. We had 2 different pizzas with different toppings and neither had any flavor. For a house full of people who like to eat and love their pizza, we struggled to get through the first piece. The sauce was bland as was the dough. I don’t know if the dough was old or cheap premade frozen dough but dough can make or break a pizza. With this pizza shop, it was a complete break. I didn’t bother trying the wings. The 1 piece of pizza I did manage to finish did not sit well in my stomach, leaving me with bad gas. We won’t be ordering from them again.

The Pizza Stop – Menu with Prices – 3349 Monroe Ave, Rochester

I came here on a Thursday night around 7:30, and every chair was upside down on the tables, and I thought they were closed. A customer came out of the door as I was walking by, or I would have assumed they were closed. The sign said they were open until 9, so this was odd. They didn’t have many slices left, but they did have a cheese slice which was what I wanted, so I tried it out. I also got 2 garlic knots. The guy that helped me was very nice, and the pizza was really hot. Like it was hard for me to carry it; it was that hot! And it was given to me in a paper bag to go, which I also thought was strange. If I’m honest, I didn’t like this pizza at all. It was too hot, it was kinda soggy, and it didn’t really taste like anything. I’m not a fan of tomato sauce, but you couldn’t really tell that any was on it. And the crust was so hard that I didn’t eat it. If I had only gotten a slice of pizza, I’d probably give this place 2 stars. The garlic knots actually were good, and weren’t overwhelmingly hot. They were dough-y and soft. They weren’t super garlic-y though, if that’s what you’re looking for. Overall, I really didn’t like it here. There’s much better pizza around. If this was really “New York” style pizza, then I guess I don’t like it. Plain cheese pizza is what I like though, and this pizza was just meh for me. And it was $8. You can almost get a whole pizza for that somewhere else, and I would like it a lot better.

Independence Mall – Menu with Prices – 3500 Oleander Dr, Wilmington

Rollz is now located in the food court inside Independence Mall since their downtown location was damage from the hurricane. The cashier, Khaliah was very friendly and helpful in ordering food. They serve obviously, egg rolls with both sweet and savory fillings as well as pasta salad, potato salad, fries, and various sweets including banana pudding, Oreo cupcake, and danishes. Ordered the pizza crack egg roll ($3.25), cookie dough egg roll ($3.50), and a cream cheese Danish ($2.79). The egg rolls are made fresh and deep-fried in front of you. They measure about 1.5 inches wide and about 4 inches long. You have an option of sauces to choose for each egg roll. I only tried the “spicy firecracker” sauce, which was basically a sweet mayo sauce. It was not spicy at all, which was a little disappointing. The egg rolls were fried very well-the exterior was very crispy and golden brown. Do note that if you do take out, make sure the bag holding the egg rolls is open a little to decrease the risk of sogginess. The pizza crack egg roll had a good amount of cheese with pepperoni slices. You get a mouthful of melted stringy cheese with each bite. The cookie dough egg roll was just like eating cookie dough, just in a egg roll wrapper. It came with caramel and powdered sugar topping. Since I got a to-go order this was put in a separate container. I forgot to use it, which wasn’t needed anyways since the cookie dough egg roll was already delicious and sweet on its own. The Danish was good-your typical Danish. The egg roll prices are a little expensive for its size. This is definitely a good place for a snack but not for a meal unless you want to spend a bit of money. You would probably need to eat at least 3-4 egg rolls to feel full for a normal sized stomach.

Gary’s Superette – Menu with Prices – 4703 E Lake Rd, Erie

We ordered 5 subs from a fundraiser. It was my first time to this neighborhood store in about a decade. I will be returning in the future. At first glance I was a bit skeptical. Not much of a selection. The items they did have were great! A variety of air/deep fryer finger foods. We bought hot cheese balls and mini tacos to go with our subs. All the food was tasty! We can’t wait to try other items. They had pepperoni bread like I have never seen before (not your typical loaf). Pretzel buns for sandwiches were nice and fresh. We grabbed a menu for our future visit. Side note: For a quaint little store, it had quite a few customers coming in and out

Jack’s Pizza & Subs – Menu with Prices – 5007 CA-1, Torrance

Absolutely best pizza in town! We have been coming here for years for the pizza and love the fact that it is small family run business with 3 generations in the kitchen each day! This is authentic Italian food. We recently discovered their subs though…. they are phenomenal. I love a good meatball sub and this is my new fav on jacks menu. My hubby is a sucker for pastrami and thoroughly enjoys the ones he gets at Jacks. My daughter is here daily for the pizza special; two slices of cheese pizza with a fountain drink for $4.50. You can’t beat it. FYI: this is a cash only establishment

Lil Italian Pizza – Menu with Prices – 10014 Main St, Fairfax

* I love to support small businesses so I don’t want to give a 1 or 2 star for this place however the pizza here is nothing spectacular. $20 for a plain medium cheese pizza and mozzarella sticks (includes delivery charge not tip) -No comment on the sticks. -flavorless crust -pizza is similar to what chuck e cheese had back in the 90s -quick delivery time -Happy with delivery and presentation of pizza looked great -plain and average pizza -medium was rather small compared to other carry out competitors -would rather do dominos or Pizza Hut for the same price I could get something else cheaper Overall it was very plain pizza nothing was wrong with it but it was average and the quality wasn’t there for carry out pizza, like I said it wasn’t terrible but I wouldn’t choose to get pizza there again because I could get better carry out pizza elsewhere. I must say I was happy with the overall presentation and delivery of the pizza as it was quick and I’m happy about that but I wouldn’t order here again.

Naked City Pizza Shop – Menu with Prices – 10940 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas

Although there are 60+ PT’s Tavern locations in Nevada only one welcomes children, and that same location at 10940 South Eastern Avenue also plays host to Christopher and Michael Palmeri’s Naked City Pizza Shop. A joint venture now one year old, and the brother’s second foray into Henderson after finding success across multiple locations in Las Vegas since 2009, it is a more recent development that a wall was installed to eliminate smoke and allow for family-friendly dining, this fact not yet widely known which is likely why things were fairly quiet on a Saturday evening at 6:30pm. Dimly lit but well-polished, several televisions with audible play-by-play showing the Golden Knights as well as Notre Dame versus Georgia, it was after greetings from a friendly server that menus were perused, a concise collection of Naked City favorites joined by a handful of location-specific specials. Comfortable for conversation without shouting, the PT’s half louder but entirely ignorable save for when guests enter or exit shared doors, it was not long before Appetizers began arriving, Buffalo Cauliflower named such due to fiery Sauce rather than the Palmeri’s hometown and Steak n Cheese “Egg Rolls” a fun riff on Philly for those who are seeking something different from Naked City’s famous Pizza Logs. Happy to see Fries on the Menu, something not offered at the DTLV location inside The El Cortez, handcut Wedges cook up crisp whether “plain” or “loaded,” while the “suicide” version featured on DDD’s is also available for those who dare. Not forgetting Pizzas, the famous Guinea and Rebel Pies both offered in addition to the ability to build one’s own, it was in two-halves that $25.95 “1/2 Sheet” overfed five diners, the Back Home Half fairly traditional save for Sauce and Cheese being mixed while “Buffalo 22” adds the sweet heat of Mike’s Hot Honey to a thick golden Crust, two types of Meat and White Sauce. Finishing with a big bag of Zeppoles, exactly as they should be with bits of Pizza Dough lightly fried and covered in Confectioner’s Sugar, it is a tough decision between Chocolate and Mango as to which Dip is best, though considering the enormous portion size for just $5 there are plenty of opportunities to figure it out.

Top It Off Pizza – Menu with Prices – 1700 TX-323 Loop Suite 108, Tyler

Went in to grab a pizza at lunch time a few weeks back. Both ladies there were extremely nice to start off with. Now I am from NY and was in NYC in April. So I already am picky. I have tried all the NY places in town and they lack one thing in their dough. I know pizza well and won’t mention what was missing but this place had their dough right. Crust was crispy and airy on the outside. Good sauce and cheese. If I had to be super picky a little odd taste on part of the crust and I feel maybe some run off from other pizza or garlic knots cooked in the same oven. Maybe just brush the oven off more. Very good stuff.

Sauce Pizza & Wine – Menu with Prices – 7300 N MacArthur Blvd #120, Irving

Came in on a weekend lunch and right as you walk in, you are headed toward the cash register. Up on the ceiling is the menu so we stopped to take a look. So many choices it was a bit overwhelming but I decided on getting pizzas. Me and the bf decided to order a mushroom pizza and the chicken pesto pizza with red sauce. It was easy to order and everyone was very friendly. Soon after ordering we got to grab our drinks and find a seat. Theres lots of seating options from booths to tables to high tops too. We sat in a booth and about 10ish minutes later our food came out. Presentation wise the mushroom pizza looked amazing. It tastes amazing too! The chicken pesto pizza on the other hand was sad. It was good dont get me wrong but the tiny bits of chicken pesto around the pizza did not feel like a chicken pesto pizza. More like a cheese pizza with half a handful of chicken. I felt that it was a great pizza for a child who might want a cheese pizza but the parent wants them to eat some protein so you sprinkle some chicken but that was it. The chicken, from the time amounts I was able to try, was actually pretty good, flavorful and soft. It was like a slowcooked or soft shredded chicken. Taking a bit made you wish there was more of it after the one bit that had the chicken and the rest just being dough and cheese and sauce. The mushroom pizza however had sooooo much mushroom and arugula it was like I could barely see the pizza. It was sooo good because I love mushrooms! Definitely would reccomend that pizza. Lastly the dessert was amazing. Super rich and big and the gelato was very good. We were soo full we couldnt finish the cookie but it was super gooey and rich and warm.

La Pizzeria Metro – Menu with Prices – 3101 Miller Rd, Wilmington

Pizzeria Metro is an awesome addition to an area that is otherwise a little sparse in terms of food options. There is plenty of parking and you can opt to dine-in or carry out (or, “carry over to Wilmington Brew Works” because what goes better with pizza than beer?). We arrived around 7:30 PM on a Saturday and were quickly greeted. We decided to eat in because we weren’t sure if we’d be able to find a table at WBW and they were able to seat us right away. Our server (I believe her name was Nealanni) was sweet and attentive. They have a great selection of beers, wines, and a cocktail menu if you choose to eat in— you can’t carry the alcohol between buildings. We split the Quaker Hill (sausage, peppers, onions, ricotta, pesto, AND tomato sauce) and the Wawaset Park (chicken sausage, cherry tomatoes, onions), both of which were delicious and completely consumed between four of us. Each pizza was $14, which is completely reasonable for the quality of the toppings and the tastiness. Looking forward to my next visit, and will have to consider branching out from the pizza judging by the other reviews — it’s just hard when the pizza is so delicious!

Tom’s Tacos – Menu with Prices – 4669 Torrance Blvd, Torrance

This is Tito’s Tacos from Culver City, but way smaller, less crowded, and more convenient for those in South Bay. CASH ONLY! CASH ONLY! Lots of parking. CASH ONLY! As I noted in my Tito’s Tacos review, I am not a huge fan of the tacos. However, I really dig Tom’s burritos ? The bean and cheese burrito in particular. I’ve tried the burrito with the meat, rice, etc. as well, but what it all comes down to in the end is that the beans are stellar (lard-tastic) and the cheese combines to make goodness. I usually get some of the liquid guac and salsa and combine it with the burritos for a little extra flavor, but they are good without too. The chips are decent, the burritos are definitely messy, the ordering experience is way easier than Tito’s, but the burritos (to me and my wife) are awesome. Looking forward to going back for some nostalgic flavor from the Culver City days ?
