My favourite hotel out of the six I stayed at while on this trip. Spacious, airy suite with plenty of room to spread out for a family of 4 adults. Lovely bathroom. Loved that the toilet was in its own little corner. Showerhead is on the opposite side of the tap which is nice when you don’t want to get your hair wet. Water pressure is a bit weak and the water feels super slippery but I think this is the norm in LA. One thing is that I wish the sliding bathroom door had a full length mirror on the outside of it. Would be more convenient than having 2 mirrors on either side of the closet door. Very clean. Pretty quiet, though there was a bit of noise from the hall and upstairs on our first night. Beautiful lobby with glass staircase. Beds are very comfy. The pillows made my neck stiff in the morning though. Not sure why. Breakfast is included. Pretty good selection. Potatoes were yummy and well-seasoned. Dining area is pretty big. Staff are very friendly, especially the lady with the red hair and glasses at the front desk. Breakfast staff are also nice. They have a cool program where you can earn Marriott points if you don’t get your room serviced. I don’t get service usually anyway except for towels so this was a great option for me. Parking garage was great. You pay 17 per night but it felt quite safe so I parked here instead of on the street. Convenient location for Universal Studios and the Rose Bowl, which were two places I went to on this trip. I’ll stop gushing now but this was one of the best hotels I’ve ever been to. Never thought I’d say this of a hotel but I miss it!

Beechwood Hotel – Menu with Prices – 363 Plantation St, Worcester

We stayed in Beechwood hotel the night before we were moving into our new residence down the road. The signage is large and easy to spot. The outside looks very nice. We actually arrived at like 1:30am because we drove up from Philly the evening before and concierge was present and readily available at that time. We called to make sure that check in time would be acceptable and the staff member responded, “it’s your hotel room, you can check in whenever you’d like”. The guy who was checking us in was a little bit chatty for 1:30am after a long drive. He made fun of me slightly in a jovial way but I wasn’t particularly in the mood. Normally, I’m down for a good roast but I was tired and just wanted to go to sleep. He was friendly, and my companion who had escaped unscathed enjoyed it but I found it a bit irritating. The restaurant is very close by but breakfast is not free. Not that I care, but FYI for people that are interested in hotel breakfast. The inside of the hotel and the room itself is very regal in appearance. The little door hangers have been replaced by buttons on the wall to indicate your preference for cleaning. The room was extremely spacious, one of the largest rooms I’ve ever stayed in. The bathroom itself was amazing. There were numerous, extremely soft towels. The shower water pressure was like a fire hose. Don’t even attempt to wash just your body with your hair in a bun because the power wash shower head will leave water ricocheting all over. This is not a complaint in any capacity, I love that shit. The bed itself was also very comfortable with cozy sheets. The bathroom has a NIGHTLIGHT. How many times have you been forced to leave the bathroom door closed with the bathroom light on to avoid bumping into shit and stubbing toes? I wish every place had a nightlight. Staying in this hotel has been a great experience! I would definitely recommend it.

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Corpus Christi – Menu with Prices – 5213 Oakhurst Dr, Corpus Christi

New, CLEAN, well-maintained, modern hotel. King-sized room had a good layout, tasteful decor and high ceilings. The room had everything you could want – love seat, writing desk, refrigerator (nice size, not the really small one), microwave and in-room coffee. The mattress was a little firmer than some, but I found it comfortable. The bathroom had a nice vanity with shelves where you could put your things and granite counter tops. The shower faucet was actually normal (seems like hotel shower faucets are always so difficult to use). The bathroom was stocked with plenty of thick, thirsty towels. A fairly substantial hot breakfast was served which included eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, a pancake machine, yogurt, fruit, cereals, cinnamon rolls, muffins, etc. Coffee/tea was available 24/7 in the breakfast room and there was a refrigerator in the lobby with additional food items for sale. The staff was very helpful. All in all an excellent hotel experience. The only drawback was the location. It was off the frontage road near Outback Steakhouse, two other hotels and right behind a sleazy-looking bar. I stayed on a Friday night and was a bit worried that there would be noise, but there wasn’t enough to bother me. However, someone who is a light sleeper might not be comfortable. Maybe asking for a room on the front side of the hotel would be the answer. I’d give the hotel itself a 5, but the location knocks it down a bit, hence the 4.

Le Méridien Boston Cambridge – Menu with Prices – 20 Sidney St, Cambridge

The one star is for the comfortable bed. We travel quite a bit for business and travel and it has been some time since I have had a more negative experience with a hotel. While booking, I indicated that we would need a rollaway bed for one night, the first night of our stay. Apparently such a request is completely confounding to this hotel’s staff. I called the morning before our arrival to confirm and I was told that if they had a bed it would be in the room. So, we hoped for the best and went on our way. We arrived at the hotel in a car, no valet service was offered. No assistance with our luggage was offered either and no luggage trolleys in sight. So, while I checked in, my husband and daughter removed the luggage from the car. At check in I was given one bottle of water (that’s fine, it’s all in the family so we’ll share) and given the keys to our room. When I asked what should be done about our car, I was directed to the valet person, standing right there. Eventually we were able to communicate that we needed our car to be parked. When my husband and daughter came in with the luggae, the front desk staff asked them if they were checking in. Um, what? You just saw us all together figuring out how to deal with the luggage and the car. When we arrived at midnight (I had notified them in advance of our expected check in time), the rollaway bed was indeed in our room – standing vertical in the corner with no bedding. So, we rearranged the room furntiture and righted the rollaway bed so that it could be slept in and requested bedding for it. We were allowed 2 towels in our bathroom for three guests – we were exhausted from traveling all day so my husband elected to use one of the two hand towels as a bath towel rather than deal with the incompent front desk staff yet again. The following day, we returned again to a generous two towels and the rollaway bed still in our room despite me confirming on 3 different occasions that the rollaway bed was only for the first night. So, we requested that it be removed which is was. We rearranged the room furntiture ourselves and I treated myself to the one tea pod allowed to our room and used one of the two cream and sugar packets knowing now that I would not have it for morning coffee. Day three we returned to 1 towel in our room and 1 coffee pod for use in the coffee maker. Our ice bucket had been put back in place, including the melted ice from the night before. After complaining yet again, we were greeted at our door by a member of the staff with an armload of towels (many more than could reasonably be needed) as well as a plastic bag full of pods for the coffee maker, again many more than two people could consume. I only asked for enough supplies for two people. I don’t understand the hostility. The take home message is that if you want anything within the normal expectations of hotel service be prepared to ask for it. But, if you ask for it be prepared to deal with the attitude that comes with it. Or, just make it easier on yourselves and bring your own towels, beds, bedding, and coffee. Needless to say we will never, ever stay here again and we will certainly not recommend the hotel to anyone.

Fluno Center – Menu with Prices – 601 University Ave, Madison

I was really torn on whether or not to give this facility 2 or 3 stars. My experience was more “Meh-I’ve experienced better,” but given the limitations on hotel rooms the weekend we were in Madison, I think I have to settle on “A-OK.” Really the best part about staying here is the location on campus close enough to walk everywhere, including Kohl Center and La Bahn Arena. The staff was nice enough, although I think some were annoyed by the volume of questions I had about the best way to walk from place to place on campus given the cold temperatures (we stayed in February). I definitely wanted to ensure the shortest and easiest path. The room was just mediocre. The bed was tiny; it was listed as a queen size bed, but it had to be a double because we have a queen at home and I felt like I was hanging on the edge of the bed all night. The mattress and box springs were also several inches wider than the base of the bed (see photo), which meant at any time we sat on the edge of the bed to put our shoes on or whatever, the whole thing could have tipped over. It was really quite comical. The bathroom was outdated, which didn’t make it feel particularly clean. The towels were small and extremely rough on the skin. Incidentally, I used the fitness center one morning, and the towels offered in that room where extremely plush, new, and nice–the complete opposite of what was provided in the room. I ended up taking one of them with me upstairs to use instead of the towels provided to us. Given the type of facility this is (feels like an old dormitory turned hotel), the fitness center was surprisingly nice: two treadmills, a nice set of free weights, etc. The worst part of the fitness center was that the room itself was probably 70-72 degrees inside at least with the heat constantly pumping in, which is just way too hot for a fitness center in my opinion. I felt like I was running in a sauna. Breakfast is served until 10 AM on Saturday and Sunday mornings, and they are not joking about 10 AM. We arrived at 9:47 (ish) for breakfast and some of the food was already put away. By 9:58, MOST of the food was put away. The breakfast buffet was decent enough in terms of variety, but the quality of food was nothing to get excited about. The staff in the breakfast area was extremely friendly and accommodating, though. I appreciated that a lot. I didn’t get the same warmth from the front desk staff. The most unsettling part of the trip was when we were in our room one morning with the “privacy please” tag in our door key card slot indicating that we did not want our room cleaned and/or that we did not want to be disturbed. I was, in fact, taking a quick nap after a restless night of sleep while my partner was doing some work from the easy chair in the corner of the room. Despite the presence of the “Privacy Please” sign, we were stunned when our door unlocked from the outside and someone on the housekeeping staff walked into our room. She said she was coming in to ask if we wanted our room cleaned and indicated that she was told we were checking out that day. In fact we were not checking out until the next day, and given that we were staying only two nights did not intend to have our room cleaned until we checked out. We were speechless that the interaction played out this way. There was no knock or anything. She just walked right in. When she saw we were in the room, she didn’t walk in far or anything, but we definitely felt uneasy about the security of our belongings when we were out because clearly the “Privacy Please” sign was going to do nothing to prevent someone from walking into our room. The room also did not offer the option of a safe in which we could store our electronics, etc. While I have certainly experienced much more unpleasant hotel stays, the best word I can use to describe this experience is just “mediocre.” We were thankful to find a place right on campus

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Little Rock – Menu with Prices – 424 W Markham St, Little Rock

So far, I am extremely disappointed with this hotel. I normally love all of the Hilton honors hotels but after an extremely long wait to check-in due to another guest having issues, (not the hotels fault) I get to my room and all I want to do shower and get to bed. Unfortunately, the toilet in my bathroom is broken, and there is no hot water in my shower or sink. Okay I get it, stuff happens. I call the front desk to get a new room, they don’t have any comparable rooms available, or upgrades, so I get a downgraded room and the hotel staff aren’t yet able to add extra points to my account or otherwise compensate me for a completely disrupted night. Hopefully tomorrow this will be rectified, if it is, I will certainly change this review to reflect that but as it stands I’m very dissatisfied. EDIT: Day two of my business travels and this hotel has handled the issues that were present wonderfully. The staff here tended to my needs, kept me Informed about the process and decisions, and more than compensated for my troubles. I’m quite pleased with how the staff handled the adversity and will more than likely stay here the next time I’m in town.

Renaissance Asheville Hotel Menu with Prices 31 Woodfin St, Asheville

I loved the location of this hotel and that they allowed our pet to join us! It was easy to walk into downtown and there was a nice area to walk your pet. The decor was very modern and our room was clean. We had a nice view from our room and enjoyed having nice big windows. Go up to the top floor for an even better view. There is a nice outside patio seating that the hotel offers as well! The bed wasn’t comfortable for my husband and I. It was very soft and the mattress slept hot. It was also hard to regulate the temperature in our room. The bathroom was decent and had a good shower. The shower curtain was dirty and the toilet sprays water out when flushed. Also the toilet itself was old. We didn’t have very good hot water one day. The bathroom also had a sliding door that doesn’t offer a lot of privacy. There is ample parking here but some spaces require a hike. I didn’t mind that so much because it was nice to have free parking! I had pleasant experiences with the staff I interacted with.

Aloft Raleigh-Durham Airport Brier Creek – Menu with Prices – 10020 Sellona St, Raleigh

I stayed at this property during a quick work trip. It’s very close to the Raleigh airport, and the property looks exactly like the pictures on the website (most hotels DO NOT). The staff was extremely friendly, and went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. I’m not sure if the hotel is new or not, but the restaurant menus are VERY SLIM….especially after 10 PM. I understand having a reduced menu, but for people who stay longer than 2 days, there’s gotta be more than salad, hot wings, and hamburgers to eat. Also, the breakfast menu might as well not exist. It’s very “trendy” food, but nothing you would actually associate with breakfast. And there are no additions/changes. You get what you get! As for the sleeping rooms, they are very nice, and the beds are super comfortable. I got a double room (requested a King), but the bathroom was very nice and the water was super hot (also a rarity for hotels). The one thing that struck me as odd is that there are all these advertisements on the property about “keyless entry” and using the mobile app to unlock your door, but the property isn’t equipped for that (at the time of my stay). And while this has nothing to do with the hotel, the location is NOT great for having food delivered either. Overall, I’m not sure if I would stay here again. It wasn’t a bad stay at all, but it also didn’t make me want to stay here again. Happy Traveling!

Hampton Inn & Suites Macon I-475 – Menu with Prices – 5010 Eisenhower Pkwy, Macon

Convenient location along our route back to Florida from Indiana after Hurricane Irma. The room was clean and comfortable with some great design features. There were plenty of outlets and USB ports/chargers throughout the room. There were flat surfaces on BOTH sides of the TV unit where you could place a suitcase. The room also had a luggage rack. In addition to the standard office chair on one side, there were rolling pieces that could be used as either an ottoman with the couch or as seating on the other side of the TV unit. That means TWO people could work on laptops comfortably if they desired. There was a mini-fridge, small microwave and small coffee maker with supplies (not Keurig but would get the job done). We appreciated the step-in shower that had great water pressure and plenty of hot water. The bedding was nice and we got a good night’s sleep with no aches and pains in the morning. The room was on the quiet side with only occasional muffled noise from traffic and some of the usual next-door room sounds in the morning, while we were all getting ready for the day. Breakfast was complimentary. There wasn’t a large selection to begin and several items, including bananas, were not available when we arrived. Final Assessment: This property has a convenient location and our room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast would need to be bumped up a notch or two to keep it in-line with the rest of the experience. Definitely worthy of a return visit if/when we find ourselves in the area again.

WXYZ Lounge Chesapeake – Menu with Prices – 1454 Crossways Blvd, Chesapeake

Overall, I really like this hotel. The modern look, clean lines, and minimalistic rooms are perfect for people who are tired of the other hotel chains. The room was absolutely stunning. We had a king bed with two desks on either side of a wall-mounted TV. It would have been nice to have 2 desk chairs instead of just one, but that’s just being picky. The room feels very spacious because there isn’t unnecessary furniture like big dressers and tv stands. This may sound silly, but I really like the color scheme; bright and vibrant, but not too over the top. BEST PART OF THE ROOM has got to be the number of outlets! I’m not even kidding you; there’s one on each desk (one that has 2 USB ports), one on each night stand, one on each wall on the side of the bed, and then one in the bathroom. These guys really know that people have multiple devices and that in other hotels, the struggle is real. The bathroom is laid out very nicely with a sliding door to give the toilet and shower privacy from the sink. The shower had very good water pressure and hot water so that’s always a plus too. The seal on the door for the shower isn’t the greatest so it allows a lot of water to spray out so make sure you’re careful when getting out. In that same area is the “closet” but it’s situated weird: only has room for 4 hangers (see attached picture). Also, there’s a weird shelf that doesn’t seem practical for anything other that skinny alcohol bottles (see attached picture). There’s a pretty chill area near the lobby with a pool table, rocking chairs, and a nice bar as well (called w xyz). Another cool thing is that they also have nightly entertainment starting at 8pm. It’s nice to go down and chill, but on the downside, you can also hear it in your room as well; not really that great if you’re trying to watch something on the tv or trying to concentrate while doing work. Another plus a of the hotel is that it is dog friendly. I sometimes need to bring my dog with me during work travel, so it’s really nice they have that. There is plenty of grass around the property (even though you’re surrounded by parking lot) to walk Fido. If you book ahead, be sure to try to get ground level to make it easier on yourself: we booked last-minute and we on the second floor so it was just a short elevator ride away. The on-site gym is always a nice plus even though equipment is minimal; at least it is clean. They have a few yoga mats, treadmills, bicycles, ellipticals, and free weights as well as a machine that allows you to select different configurations. There is also a water cooler there too. The indoor pool area seems nice enough but didn’t look like anything to write home about. All in all, I would love to stay here again if I’m in the area. The staff was very nice and accommodating and seemed very professional.

Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center – Menu with Prices – 6000 W Osceola Pkwy, Kissimmee

It pains me to rate the Gaylord Palms negatively. I was recently there for a conference. The conference space was good, food catered from the restaurant was excellent and the pricing in the restaurants was appropriate for a convention hotel, the pools are good especially for kids. The atrium areas are creative and interesting. . . I had a lot of housekeeping issues, however. My first room looked like it hadnâ??t been vacuumed (quite a bit of food on floor) and the front desk offered to move me, which was very generous as I would have been fine with a re-clean. Sadly the second room also had food on the carpet and hair throughout- looked like someone clipped their hair in the sink and then it was on other surfaces and in the sheets. I didnâ??t want to move and asked for the room to just be cleaned, and staff very helpfully agreed. Unfortunately the cleaning did not happen so I did my best wiping/picking up that evening. Also unfortunately had only large bath towels in the room, no hand towels/washcloths so I had to go pick them up. The rooms are also a bit worn with holes in the bedding, wear on carpets/furniture and shower mold. . . The hotel put on a well run conference, staff was kind and helpful, but sadly the rooms are not up to or for the price and there are issues with housekeeping and communication with front desk. For a luxury resort price it did not quite hit the mark.

Grand Hyatt Seattle – Menu with Prices – 721 Pine St, Seattle

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights May 16-20 in a king water view room and were very pleased with our experience. We had spoken with the manager Tim ahead of time regarding some special requests for health reasons and everything was taken care of perfectly. Front desk staff were very welcoming. Decor is very traditional (i.e. upscale, darker tones, comfy large furniture, marble) rather than a minimalistic and sometimes quirky modern design commonly found in newer hotels. Our room was very clean and in good working order. Bed was comfortable and linens were good quality. Only negative is that temperature control in the room was a little finicky. We had to make multiple adjustments to the thermostat each day/night. The bathroom was spacious with a large countertop, bathtub and a large separate marble shower stall. Maid service was excellent each day. During our stay we ordered room service for breakfast each day plus dinner 2 nights and service was always prompt. Room service staff were very pleasant and food was nicely presented, fresh and at proper temperatures. One minor complaint is that they ran out of some menu items like oatmeal and steak salad. As others have noted, this hotel is in a very convenient location and within walking distance to Pike Market, many shops and restaurants. This hotel is our first choice whenever we travel to Seattle. Highly recommend.

Sheraton Augusta Hotel Menu with Prices 1069 Stevens Creek Rd, Augusta

Sheraton Augusta Hotel My stay was awful. Checked in om Friday night around 10pm so we unpacked and relaxed. Saturday I get up early, eat breakfast down stairs and then went shopping. My kids were sleep at the hotel (resting before competition day) and they get woke up by room service who delivered breakfast to the wrong room. They called me and I immediately called to see why breakfast was delivered to my room. I was first told someone ordered the breakfast from my room. After having to explain it wasn’t my room it was discovered it was their error. That charge was NOT taken off immediately I realized at check out on Sunday. When I got back to the hotel my room key didn’t work so I had to get it reactivated. Got to the room and my kids said housekeeping has knocked twice waking them up asking if we were staying an extra night (despite the do not disturb sign on door and the fact I booked 2 nights). When I returned another maid knocks so I call the front desk to see what the issue was. I was informed that they were not sure why housekeeping keeps knocking but they shouldn’t be and it will be addressed. I leave to take my youngest daughter to competition ( she had to be there early) returned and my key doesn’t work again and China is in the shower. Leave for competition get down stairs and forget my shoes and when my daughter tries to get in the room, guess what? KEY DOESN’T WORK! We return from competition later that evening and now I’m pissed because the key doesn’t work again. That night (Saturday) the air was acting up, it was either too hot or too cold. Sunday morning I was able to sleep in and noticed all the sunlight coming in. I tried to adjust the curtain but notice something was wrong. Pulled the curtains back and the window frame appears to have a lot if water damage and the curtain was arranged to hide this. At check I asked to speak with a manager and the food and beverage manager was sent to assist me. For my horrible stay I was offered 1,000 points towards a membership at the time I wasn’t a part of. Due to the hotel not correcting their error on room service I had to wait about 45 minutes at check out waiting for them to try to correct it. As of this morning I haven’t heard anything from the hotel!! I call customer service and made a complaint on Sunday as well. Call customer service back last night and a the rep was nasty and hung up. I called back and was escalated to a manager who didn’t say a lot of nice things about the Sheraton Brand, however, apparently there is a new Marriott brand she as excited about the 1,000 points the food and beverage supervisor promised at the hotel has not posted either, had the young lady check. DO NOT STAY AT THIS SHERATON, looks nice on the outside but if the water damage was in my room and caused that much damage, Im positive there are alot of rooms and areas in the hotel that are not in good condition but hidden. There could be mold and all kinds of things. BEWARE!
