I ONLY go to Nancy’s Sky Garden Austin for my health fix. It’s super to find a healthy restaurant in this neighborhood, but thank God for this hidden gem! Totally fresh, delicious, and healthy. It has tremendously helped me with my diet and weight loss regimen as well. Eating here for lunch/dinner has even helped me lose the stubborn 20 pounds! I highly recommend the poke bowls and signature plates. Their soups are also fantastic and homemade. Sweet potato noodles are a life changer, period. Chicken, tofu, sashimi(aka poke), you name it– they have it all! The colorful superfoods make my bowels happier than EVER. Did I also mention how their portions are HUGE?! I went again yesterday and now they serve VEGAN ice cream from Sweet Ritual’s (my fave ice cream shop), BUBBLE TEA, and COFFEE. I’m in love. My kids love it because how colorful their foods are and delicious it tastes. No more nagging them to eat their veggies! Never seen my two kids eat white cabbage, purple cabbage, carrots, edamame, tomatoes, avocado, and fruit SO easily in one setting. Life saver. It’s SO MUCH MORE than a healthy restaurant. The staff are super friendly and attentive.

Awesome Bites Co. – Menu with Prices – 2313 Edwards St #185, Houston

Mhmmmm how is this possible to exist? Phenomenal muffins and mouth watering vegan ice cream! Wow, so glad I was walking by this shop it’s definitely a hidden gem! EVERYTHING IS VEGAN AND GOOD! Can we talk about the lavender earl grey ice cream, I’m truly crazy over anything lavender however they have to have the right amount, too much or to little can run it not here! The taste is phenomenal, sweet but not to sweet, refreshing and the perfect note of lavender. As well I got it with a gluten free cake cone, and it’s only 11 calories per cone.. I mean I’m never going back to regular cake cones. As well the super muffins are amazing I got to try the dark chocolate, and lemon blueberry. How is this all made from fruit and veggies and taste like a regular muffin! You still have a soft, moist muffin but without all the guilt, and bad things for ya! Try them you won’t regret it, you’ll be blown away as well. I will be definitely coming back, and telling not only my vegan friends but everyone! The girl that helped me was so sweet, and so informative regarding everything, thank you for letting us try different flavors!!!

Bontà Natural Artisan Gelato Menu with Prices 920 NW Bond St #108, Bend

This is my first time having gelato ice cream and it was absolutely amazing! I have extremely sensitive stomach and I noticed after having this ice cream my stomach was doing absolutely fine. The one thing I would say is I feel extremely healthy after eating this vegan ice cream. I ended up having a chocolate coconut ice cream, and a peanut butter ice cream! Which was absolutely amazing. We ended up testing three different types of ice cream and I wish I can have all of them! You can pick from a size 4 ounce to size 5 ounce. I highly recommend this place if you haven’t had gelato ice cream like myself I can never go back to normal ice cream now! This is the type of place that I would love to bring my kids because it is extremely healthy and worth the money and the wait. We were here around 6 PM and there was a decent line which is always saying a good thing about a business. We will be back here keep up the great work and keep up the great customer service

The Combine Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 12750 Foothill Blvd, Rancho Cucamonga

Could anyone ask for a more better coffee shop? Combine kitchen is an aesthetically pleasing coffee shop with marvelous beverages and to die for dishes. Beware: you can end up spending HOURS here. I enjoy their iced Spanish latte with oat milk. It is just the perfect cup to start off your day. Their baked goods are made fresh daily in their store. I love. Love. Lovvvvveeee their blueberry muffin with cream cheese. I’m normally not a cream cheese kind of person unless it’s in a cheesecake, but it’s like eating a carb-ful cheesecake. The bits of cream cheese is just so good with it! Their taco tuesdays menu is super good (and can only get on Tuesday). It is a fun twist of Mexican Korean food, TA-GETHER ya’ll. You know it’s ought to be good. I absolutely LOVE their L.O.X.!! The smoked salmon with the mustard seed + pickled red onion + watermelon radish + whatever green that thing is on top, I don’t care, just get in my mouth!! The flavors compliment one another so so well. Their entire menu you can NEVER go wrong. Unless you have a preference of course. I even love their VEGAN bowl!!! And I straight up eat meat like my life depended on it! Overall, it is a fun place for a date or when you need to cram…. or write a letter to ask your boss for a raise at your job. Shout to Cassie. She’s always delivering excellent customer service! Super sweet and knowledgeable!!

The Freezerie – Menu with Prices – 4393 W Ridge Rd #1460, Erie

The employees at Art’s Bakery across the street recommended this ice cream shop when I mentioned that I was on my way to Creamland. I decided to come here instead. This is a cute little ice cream shop. It offers ice cream for all diet… Vegan, sugar free and regular dairy & sugar ice cream. I got a small scoop of mint chip. To my surprise, the ice cream is on the lighter side, not too sweet. The mint flavor appears to come from the light green chips than the ice cream itself. I enjoyed it very much. They also sell Polar Pup, which is a frozen doggie tummy friendly pop in a bone shape. One of the owners said that 95% of the dogs like it. Well, my dogs are extremely finicky who don’t even eat filet mignon…. No, they refused to eat it. ð??? As expected! Anyway, it’s cute and it’s the thought that counts. One of my pups loves ice cream and she helped me eat the mint chip. My other pup is even pickier and she wasn’t interested at all. I hop to see another dog and I will offer the polar pup to it. I hate to see it go to waste.

Koi Poke – Gainey – Menu with Prices – 8977 N Scottsdale Rd #500, Scottsdale

There are two things you should know about me: 1. I am obsessed with poke and 2. I am obsessed with poke. Buuuut, I have only ever gone to one place and have never had the courage or felt the need to go elsewhere. Until today, when I became hangry as **** and couldn’t imagine eating anything other than poke. Since I was a little further away from my regular spot and needed to eat before I punched someone, I turned to yelp. Oh yelp, you never disappoint me. Koi Poke is delicious and although I won’t stop going to my spot, Koi Poke is definitely on my radar. The ingredients taste so fresh and The portion sizes are pretty darn good (I got a small and only ate half). Not to mention, the gal working was super sweet and gave me sauce suggestions. I tried the house sauce and sriracha aioli and it was YUMMY. So glad I stepped out of my safe poke bubble today

Lei’s Poke Stop Menu with Prices 1142 N Muldoon Rd Suite #115, Anchorage

Lei’s Poke Stop is our favorite place to get Poke in Anchorage. After living in Hawaii and having the real thing, we’ve found it’s hard to find the real thing here. When you walk in, the place is very obviously a former frozen yogurt shop that’s been converted. There isn’t a lot of seating, mostly a long bench and a couple tables along the wall. It’s super clean and spotless. There’s also some Hawaiian snacks you can purchase including li hing mui and macadamia nut snacks. The poke is NOT ready made. This is the one beef I have with the shop–at the same time, it ensures that you can also get exactly what you want every time. The biggest downside to the poke not being readymade is that it doesn’t get to marinate in the soy sauce like poke in Hawaii so it’s not quite as flavorful as it could be, hence my 4-star rating. The plus side is that you can customize your poke however you want including adding extra types of fish, onions, cucumber, spiciness, etc. I do think it’s strange that the Shoyu Poke doesn’t naturally come with minced garlic in it as everything in Hawaii has tons of garlic in it–so you have to pay extra for that. I would also like if they would give more furikake (rice seasoning) or have an option to buy a generous side of it. My favorite is the ahi tuna shoyu poke with extra cucumbers, garlic, and extra onions. Despite these negatives I’ve listed, the food is still really good and the fish is always a nice healthy red, never old tuna. We have eaten here multiple times and would continue to! It’s a little pricy so in my opinion it’s better to just buy a pound of poke and make your own rice at home, rather than getting a combo.

FreshFin Poké – Menu with Prices – 502 University Ave, Madison

After taking a workout class with my sister, we were really craving a healthy, fresh dish for lunch. Despite it being winter in WI and negative degrees outside, poke was calling our name. Normally, Miko Poke has been my poke place, but we wanted to try a new poke placed today (though, not exactly new as my sister and I have had FreshFin in Milwaukee before). Nonetheless, just like the location in Milwaukee, Madison’s FreshFin is a great place for poke. Clean, modern aesthetic. I love that their condiment bar has a selection of Furikake (Japanese Rice Seasoning) to choose from to add to your poke as desired. I had the Spicy Tuna Signature Bowl. My BF had the Coconut Curry Shrimp Signature Bowl and my sister had the Kailani Signature Bowl. All signature bowls are customizable, which I appreciated. Huge portion sizes (I could barely finish the regular size, was super full and probably would’ve been better off saving some as leftovers). Fresh ingredients. My Spicy Tuna bowl had a tad bit too many jalapeños for my taste, a bit overpowering for me given the delicate flavors of the tuna and all the other ingredients. Next time, I think I would either ask for less or no jalapeños and just rely on the siracha aioli for the spice factor. We also ordered the truffle crab salad, which sounded delicious, but honestly was a bit underwhelming. The ingredients were really fresh, but the flavors were lacking. This doesn’t factor into my rating, but this location is not super convenient for me as I don’t live downtown and it’s hard to find street parking. However, if I were ever in the area again and looking for a fresh, healthy meal, I would definitely keep FreshFin in mind!

Twisterz Frozen Dessert – Menu with Prices – 1229 E McKellips Rd #108, Mesa

We love love love this place. Their topping bar is always fresh & full of creative toppings from the healthy (fresh fruit & nuts) to the indulgent (cheese cake bites & crushed up Snicker) & kid friendly (gummy frogs & Fruity Pebbles). They rotate out flavors fairly frequently & offer vegan & no added sugar options. This means I can treat the kids & still treat myself without breaking my own food rules. They are also always offering specials, have a reward program, AND have a kids deal on Monday which this Mama loves. If all of that wasn’t enough the people working there are so sweet & kind.

PachaPotrero – Menu with Prices – 886 Potrero Ave, San Francisco

Forget meditating with Buddhist monks in the Himalayas, ayahuasca rituals with shamans in the Amazon, or going to Burning Man. Pacha Potrero is way more life-changing. Put it on your bucket list.

Poke Sushi Bowl Barracks – Menu with Prices – 1104 Emmet St N, Charlottesville

Great place for fresh, healthy food, especially if you are on Keto. This is one of my favorite places to go in Barracks Shopping Center, and I honestly should have visited a long time ago! Located in the heart of Barracks Shopping Center, Poke Sushi Bowl Barracks is located across other popular food joints like Five Guys and Panera. Unlike these places though, Poke Sushi Bowl definitely is easier to go to for health conscious dieters. Poke Bowl’s options include a wide variety of bowls with or without rice and you choice of toppings: tuna, salmon, crab. There are also additional topping options like avocado, ginger macadamia, nuts, and other healthy ingredients. However, besides bowls, Poke also offers ramen and soba both of which were highly recommended to me. For me, though, the reason I like Poke so much is I know what I am eating when I order: the ingredients are all natural and the sauces list ingredients. This is a must have for any Keto dieter! And this is why in addition to the great taste I really love Poke!

Choppa Poke – Menu with Prices – 716 State St, Santa Barbara

I was actually on my way to a different poke place when I found out that was closed/under construction. I was sad until I turned around and happened to see Choppa Poke right there! Made me so happy that I was still going to be having poke bowl tonight for dinner. I walked in and it was super clean. Really neat set up because they have rolled ice cream on one side and poke bowls on the other side. I have always wanted to try the rolled ice cream but I was only focused on dinner first so I will have to come back another time. Poke bowl was delicious. I had a small bowl, which is 2 protein scoops. The medium is 3 scoops and the large is 4. Just $2.00 extra for each additional scoop/size larger. I personally had spicy tuna and ahi tuna for my two protein scoops mixed with spicy garlic and spicy (something else) sauce (sorry I forget the names). I chose the “sushi rice” as I love sticky rice. Then I added on fried garlic, avocado, seaweed salad, edamame, and imitation crab. It was nice of the staff member to offer suggestions for toppings because I was not sure what sounded the best to put on it! There are plenty of spots to sit inside, or take it to go. Looks like you can also order takeout and get it delivered.

Cookie Dough Dreams – Menu with Prices – 124 E Magnolia Blvd, Burbank

My 3 year old son and I were looking to kill some time one day while waiting to pick up my daughter from a birthday party and after getting a few things at Cost Plus in the mall, we headed out and I remembered seeing the sign for Cookie Dough Dreams while we were driving. We walked in and it really is a colorful and kid friendly space. My son kept thinking we were getting ice cream as the shop is set up similar to a Cold Stone or Baskin Robbins and I reminded him that this was all cookie dough in the bins and not ice cream. He selected the s’mores cookie dough with Reeses Pieces and some other mix in. The girl scooped out the cookie dough (like an ice cream shop) and mixed in the toppings and put it into the cup. I was reading that they use fresh ingredients and the cookie dough is safe to eat while the dessert was being prepared. They have a variety of flavors and then special desserts they can create. Nothing sounded particularly tempting to me. We paid (I’d say borderline pricy for what you get) and then sat down to enjoy the cookie dough. My 3 year old loved it and he polished off the whole thing except the few bites I had in between. It does taste good, and I do love cookie dough so I was happy about that but didn’t really feel the s’more flavor as we had mixed in some other things. Overall, an interesting and tasty idea. A place I’d come infrequently, but a good idea for a ‘special treat’ place with the kids. Even if the ingredients are ‘fresh’ this is by no means a healthy eating option.
