Mt Bachelor is a beautiful ski area with awesome views of the Three Sisters mountains, but alas the the daily running of this resort is very disappointing! Please do not take your family and kids to this area it is not safe! It’s a flat mountain at the base and mostly boarders feel the need to go warp speed to make the lift even at your expense almost knocking you over (one brushed my shoulder coming from behind the other day)! There is not enough staff for weekends to serve food (lines are huge), the bathrooms are dirty with no Kleenex (really!), no water glasses in the lodge, the snowboarders are out of control, drinking beer in line, on the chair, in the parking lot, drunk everywhere, doing jumps on the get back trails in high traffic, peeing in the parking lot, yellow snow everywhere gross! Oh and don’t get me started on the big dogs pooping everywhere with owners that don’t pick up after them! They can’t keep the mountain open on powder days( hello it’s a ski resort)! Ski patrol not addressing safety issues with snowboards jumping over Summit crossover trail (from Skyliner lift) onto the run above the boarding park, almost got taken out here several times! I have a friend who got taken out last week! Management put up a SMALL fence which they just go around or use as an obstacle to jump over! What a joke! I’ve complained at least 4 or 5 times, falls on deaf ears! If you go to Mt. Bachelor better be looking over your shoulder! Skier experience sadly to say is diminishing on Mt. Bachelor:-(

Summit Climbing Yoga and Fitness – Plano – Menu with Prices – 525 Talbert Dr, Plano

Summit is the premiere climbing gym in DFW, and that status is solidified with the opening of their new Plano location. This place is huge and has everything you’d want from a climbing gym: tons of rope rope, lead climbing, and bouldering. Plus classes are included in the membership. There is also a weightlifting and cardio section, I wish there were more promo pics because I wanted to see it beforehand. They have essentially big cages where you can do squats, bench, etc with all the bars they have up there. Plus free weights, boxes, which are the basics to what you need to lift. There aren’t any machines for weight lifting, though, something to keep in mind. There are also a number of row and cycle machines. Then there’s a separate room with two glass walls which has treadmills and a stair master. I’m a new climber and I’ve already met really nice and encouraging people here. I’ve heard the climbing community is a huge selling point and I’d have to agree. No judgment here as I waffle through my beginner routes. The evenings and weekends are pretty busy so far (not so much that you can’t climb) but if you prefer solitude then come during the day and there is barely anyone here. I paid for a day pass with gear (~$22) which is almost half the price of the student membership ($50), but they conveniently let you return the day pass if you sign up for a membership. That’s what I did and now they got me hooked on climbing, how devious lol. Membership includes gear rental for the first month (shoes, chalk, harness) while you work on basics before investing in your own gear. Overall, a great place to climb for beginners and experts. Summit as an organization has a really positive and welcoming vibe which the employees embody. If you’re looking for a workout (sore arms tho) or just something different to try, I’d recommend Summit.

Mountain Mike’s Pizza – Menu with Prices – 3601 Pelandale Ave, Modesto

This is, by and large the worst mountain mikes in Modesto. I will never order again from this location. I’ve tried ordering from this location three times, with the same order each time. A large garlic Tuscan with no onions, no olives, and no sun dried tomatoes. The first time I’ve had this order, I got the order with everything on it. We come back 15 minutes after seeing the mistake and being told they would remake the order; they thought we just left (without a refund or our pizza) and didn’t remake it. The second time, the person taking the order on the phone tries to tell me that the pizza didn’t have tomoatoes on it already, so I politely say, “it does, please don’t put them on, can you please make a note not to put them on?” She says sure, and when we get there, again, it has tomatoes on it. So I ask for a remake, and I get the managers telling me sorry, and how sad it is that their employees can’t get the order right. I don’t care, I want my pizza, not to listen to you sit and gossip to me about how you’re inadequate at your job. It’s your fault, not your employees. Just now I call again to make an order, and the person (who I believe is the same manager who was gossiping to me the time previous) tells me the pizza doesn’t come with tomatoes on it. I tell her that it does and she says “it Definitely doesn’t!” To which I say, miss it does. And she goes “well technically it doesn’t because it comes with sundried tomatoes, so it doesn’t nessecarily.” I DONT CARE I don’t want to argue about a pizza. I just want no tomatoes. What an absolute joke. Three strikes, I’m done with this store. Makes me understand how this place has 2 less stars than any other mountain mikes in Modesto.

Remedy Brewing Company – Menu with Prices – 401 E 8th St #120, Sioux Falls

We visited Remedy Brewing twice on a recent visit to Sioux Falls. The brewery is located among other businesses so GPS will get you to the area, but you may have to drive through the parking lot to actually locate it. . The brewery serves some really good beers. They serve some food, but we did not order any on our visits. We found all the beers we tried to be pretty solid and that is why visited a second time. They have plenty of indoor seating and a large outdoor patio. Both areas can seat quite a few people comfortably. I’ve been to way too many breweries were everyone is crammed shoulder to shoulder. It was nice to sit outside on the patio and enjoy the weather. . As mentioned before, Remedy is located among other business so you may want to plan some extra time to stroll through the shops if you arrive in the afternoon or early evening. Plenty of parking. . Well worth a visit. Cheers!

B & M Bar-B-Q & Catering – Menu with Prices – 15116 Lakeshore Blvd, Cleveland

Would you like B.M.? awesome bar-b-que behind bulletproof glass waits. Having passed this joint up in the past, this joint got my curiosity up enough to stop in and fulfill my munchie desires. Big ghetto grills were smoking away in the parking lot. Always a good sign. Not a trace of litter in the parking lot – another good sign. The walk from the car to the takeout window (no eating in) was a walk through an oh-so-heady wood and meat scented fog. Heavenly. It could be made into a men’s cologne. You look straight into the kitchen which appears to be big and super clean. No Ramsey Kitchen Nightmares here folks. Simple menu. RIBS: long, short, half slabs, by-the-bone… RIB TIPS: 4-8-12 oz size, spicy/sweet Yankee style BBQ sauce. SHOULDER: Pork shoulder superbly smoked and pulled with a vinegary southern style BBQ sauce. Sandwich or dinner option. WINGS: with or without sauce. I am not sure if they have regular fried chicken, but I hope so, as these wings were full size, battered and fried to perfection. There were a few sides, and a peach cobbler as well. The pork shoulder dinner $8.75, was out of this world good. Super moist, deep smokey flavor. The fried chicken was superb. By far the best I have had in Cleveland. Rib tips were a tad tough at times, but I’d do it again in a heart beat. Or heart attack. Real homemade coleslaw was a bonus! All in all, clean, cool, and the real deal. -Don’t be in a hurry, service is slow, but I’ll be back B&M! Carry on.

Bella Cakes By Thena – Menu with Prices – Thistlewood St, Colorado Springs

Thena made the cake for me and my wife’s beautiful wedding at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort in June of 2009. I cannot recommend her work highly enough. We wanted a very tall, elegant cake that incorporated fresh florals, and what we got was nearly a work of art. We almost hated to cut it. Not only did they look fantastic, but the flavors were simply amazing. We had different flavors for each layer of a six-layer cake. My favorite was the pink champagne cake. If you are having a wedding, do yourself a favor and don’t settle for anything but the best, and Thena is the best.

The Waterfront Beach Resort, a Hilton Hotel – Menu with Prices – 21100 Pacific Coast Hwy, Huntington Beach

Summary: This is a review for using ResortPass to book day passes and a beach cabana. I booked a day pass and beach cabana. Beach cabana should be renamed to “Reserved spot on the beach with an EZ-up, a small table that can fit one bag, and two lawn chairs”. The pool area was packed and unusable. I communicated my disappointment with the resort, they told me they will take care of me but never did. Only received resolution after contacting the amazing people at ResortPass (Thanks Anna). I did not get a full refund from the resort either due to some inane reason. What happened: This is a review for using ResortPass to book day passes and a beach cabana. Girlfriend and I were planning a nice luxurious day at the beach with our day pass and beach cabana booking. So…we could not use the pool since it was July 4th weekend. The seats by the pool is first come/first serve and everything was full. I understand it’s busy, especially with July 4th, so we were just going to brush it off and go enjoy the beach cabana instead. The ‘beach cabana’ is just an EZ-UP and the ‘deluxe’ lounge chairs are definitely not deluxe. When you call something a cabana, it should not be an EZ-UP. This should have been named ‘Reserved spot on the beach with an EZ-UP, a small table, and two lawn chairs’. As the day continued, the beach slowly became packed with other people bringing their ‘beach cabanas’ (just kidding, they’re just EZ-ups). Overall, everything was disappointing so I went go to speak with the concierge at the hotel about my experience. She was sweet, said she will take care of me, and said she will attempt to follow up in the next 2 days to make sure I receive some sort of resolution. I did not hear from her in those 2 days. In the following 2 WEEKS after my time at the Waterfront, I had to reach out to the concierge multiple times to get updates about my situation. She forwarded my information to David at guest services and he never got in touch with me. I called him multiple times and he never returned my call. Finally, I contacted ResortPass and they were able to get an answer from the Waterfront within 2 days. Amazing. The resort attempted to give me ANOTHER cabana as a resolution but after 2 weeks of poor communication, there is no way I want to return to the Waterfront. If the resort had kept their word and given me some sort of resolution within the first week then my tone would be different. Since they only attempted to resolve the situation AFTER I reached out to ResortPass, the only thing I wanted was a refund and to never come back to this resort. I was able to get a refund on the EZ-UP but they didn’t want to refund the day passes because “it was a holiday weekend and were completely booked”. So what if it was booked? It’s not like anyone else could have used the pool since the pool was heavily being used by hotel patrons anyway. We literally spent around 10 minutes standing around the pool and then leaving to go to the cabana instead. I also had to pay a resort fee ($33+) and valet parking ($20) which I’m never getting back either. I only got 54% of my money back which I am definitely not happy about. If you’re reading this, you have been warned: Skip this place if you plan to get a beach cabana or book on a busy weekend.

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory – Menu with Prices – 215 E Foothills Pkwy Suite 525, Fort Collins

I am very dissapointed with the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory in the Foothills Mall. I bought 2 $8 chocolate/caramel covered apples to get a 3rd cinnamon covered apple for free. The lady asked if I wanted them cut I said only the cinnamon one. She then accidentally cut one of the chocolate ones & I reminded her I didnt want it cut & she said “oh okay that one was bad anyways.” We purchase the apples, leave & begin to eat the cinnamon apple which was also bad & she cut it so she knew it was bad. Now today I cut into my $8 dollar apples & they are both bad as well. I am so mad because I live in Wyoming no where near a Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory & so I only go there a couple times a year & what I spent a good penny on is rotten & I cant just take it back. So dissapointed.

Wonder Bread – Menu with Prices – 2897 Trades West Rd, Santa Fe

Rudy Boll is my grandfather. I have never been to his shop before, because I live on Maui. 3,218 miles away from him. Im wrighting this review on a beach in Hawaii while thinking about him. Any time I have trouble with my Red 5.0 68′ Mercury Cougar I give my grampa a call. It’s pretty cool that he can diagnose the car to a point just over the phone. One time I called and I said ” grampa the car won’t start, he asked me a few things and it all checked out. Then he asks if I had the car in natural or park?” Nope I had left my car in drive so it would not start. We had a good laugh over it. It’s conversations like these that bring Joy and happiness to my heart when I think about my grandpa. I know I haven’t called you in a long time grampa but I think of you all the time. I think about some of the funny puns you have throughout the the day. Especially now that I have a daughter, like. “safety safety safety!!!” “You need to stop fast if you want to go fast” “Slow in fast out” “You have good taste, not just in your mouth” “Dont go immediately after it turns green it will save your life” “Is it in park?” “Always bring your mechanic donuts it will get you far” “Tip20%” “Bring your mother flowers” All in all my grampa Rudy is the best grandpa I could ever ask for. He’s been providing a five star customer service for his clients since he opened his first shop a long time ago becouse he was tired of seeing people getting ripped off and untruthful information so he opened his own shop where honesty and integrity still ring loud. My grandpa is a very great man and he will go above and beyond your expectations. So please show him some business so he can come to Maui and visit his daughter, grandson, and great grand daughter he’s never met. If you decide to use Santa Fe auto repair, do me a favor? Tell Rudy, your grandson Jeremiah Johnson recommend this shop to “me” He’ll get a kick out of it. Aloha

Hide A While Lounge – Menu with Prices – 9469 Foothill Blvd, Rancho Cucamonga

What i need to say about this Bar is that at a random decision was made last night to ask me and my friends to leave . so the weekend before we where hanging out with no problem. So the reason why we where asked to leave is because we are bikers that are in the upper age of 50 and we where told up we couldn’t be in there because we had a vest on . and too top that off i dont drink alcohol and one other member is sober also . we stick too ourselves my friends where there long before i got there and they yes they do drink . they spent there money and they where having a good time .and just so you know . bikers dont look for trubble . 9 times out of 10 its a regular civilian that causes trouble we avoid it . this is a clear sign of discrimination based on how you look . if I walked in there with plain clothes would that change who i am i am a biker and i love my life this is discrimination at its best this is not a kool bar dont get kicked out because your wearing the wrong team color

Petro Stopping Center Menu with Prices 8500 E I-40 @, Lakeside Dr, Amarillo

I spend a lot of time here. Not a bad truck stop, but parking can be a problem some nights. Guess that’s like most places these days. They do have a security patrol in the lot. I often eat at the iron skillet here. Depending on what time you arrive the buffets usually pretty good. they have a promotion you can sign up for two by six meals get the last one free. Only problem I really have well then. Is they were supposed to cop me a meal for my last meal on the program. They charge me for it anyway. And refused to make it right. They say it doesn’t show up in the register I showed him the transaction on my bank account. And they still won’t make a right. I’d advise not using a credit card here. Pay cash only. Somebody that works in a restaurant knows a way to steal from your account and not show up on the register. And the management does not want to address this issue.

Fishermenâ??s Net – Menu with Prices – 849 Forest Ave, Portland

DO NOT BUY LOBSTER FOR TRANSPORT from this market. When my husband was headed to Portland for a wedding, I called the Fishermens Net to ask about packing up a cooler for him to bring home. The owner (the wife of the pair) assured me that they could pack a styrofoam cooler with ice packs, and that it would protect the lobsters for 24 hours. I confirmed this point several times with her, and each time was reassured. So I gave them my credit card number and ordered 12 fresh lobsters that we could enjoy here in SC. As Mainers in exile, we have shipped and carried live lobsters many times, and it’s always about the same: the lobsters are packed upright, with dividers between and either wet newspaper or seaweed above and below. Ice packs finish the pack, and the styrofoam cooler is taped shut for extra insulation. But the lobsters we bought from Fishermen’s Net came roughly shoved into the cooler with no seaweed, no newspaper, and no regard for their safety. The shells of 6 of the 12 were crushed, with one’s pincer claw completely severed. The single ice pack was completely insufficient, so the lobsters were warm and dead when they arrived. To make matters worse, the owner (the husband, this time) was incredibly rude when I called to explain. He accused me of lying about their packing guarantee, and took zero responsibility for the condition of the lobsters. His offer of a $50 credit at the store (less than half of what I paid for the lobsters and packaging), was completely useless to me, as I live 1000 miles away and clearly can’t trust him to ship anything. I have no idea how this merchant treats his in-person customers, but I can say with authority that he is rude, dishonest, and miserly when addressing a customer from afar. There are dozens of fishmongers in southern Maine who will pack fresh lobsters for your journey home, and who do a great job of it. Please don’t make the mistake of choosing this one instead.
