I have eaten here several times and the service has never been anything to write home about, but came here tonight and I am completely disappointed and pissed off with my experience (or should I say non experience). Walked in and waited for a a minute or so before someone came and acknowledged us. He takes us to our table and gets us water. It’s AYCE so it’s pretty easy to just know what you want to order right away. I am usually patient and want to give them the benefit of the doubt because I already know their service isn’t the greatest. Well, we waited and waited and waited. Two more parties came in and were both sat. One party (non Asian) got sat first. Then an Asian party gets seated right next to us and one of servers goes over to them and takes their order within two minutes of them sitting down… yes before my table who was seated before all three parties and before the non Asian party seated before them. We had been waiting for 13 minutes and no one came and talked to us or acknowledged us at all. So I figure okay, the server is probably gonna take our order next… maybe she’s busy. After she takes the order next to us, she starts walking away. Then she starts walking toward us again after setting menus down so I just stare at her and we lock eyes. I’ve worked in the restaurant industry and you can tell when someone needs something. Then she walks right past us still not acknowledging us. I could’ve waived her down, but kinda just wanted to see if she was really not going to come to our table at all. That was enough for me. We have never waited that long nor been completely ignored here. It’s a shame bc this place has good food and decent prices. Like I said, I have eaten here several times before, even brought friends and family here. This experience was so bad that I will definitely not come back again. Will now be taking my business to any other kbbq place. This was completely ridiculous!!!

Shoji Sushi & Hibachi – Menu with Prices – 2575 Main St, Frisco

This restaurant is very mismanaged. My wife and I arrived at 7:30 PM. We requested Hibachi and were told by the host there was one party ahead of us and that it would be a few minutes before we were seated. No problem at all. Totally expect some amount of wait for Hibachi, especially being in a small party. We saw the party ahead of us seated but noticed that the host now seemed very frantic. A few parties came in and were seated for Hibachi almost immediately which made us wonder if our name was still on the list. But the host kept looking up at us. â??Just a few more minutes,â? heâ??d say. As 8:00 PM rolled by, two families walked in and were now in the Hibachi queue. Several times, waitresses and cooks came up from the back to talk to the host which seemed odd, as if they were dealing with some other issue. This made the few-minute-turned-half-hour wait seem more reasonable. Thirty more minutes passed though with no news. At 8:30 PM, a family of seven walked in the door. About two minutes later we were finally seated. An hour wait in total but at least we were now comfortable and had a great view of the grill. As soon as we could get situated though, the host came by and motioned for us to stand up again. He told us we were going to the party room. He then added five place settings to the table leaving us to awkwardly stand in the middle of the dining room for several minutes. The party of seven who had checked in seconds before were seated in our spots. We followed him to the entrance and he gestured for us to sit back down in the waiting area we had just been in for over an hour. We waited again for the party room to be cleared out. Finally, we were seated with the two families that had now waited over thirty minutes. The party room has two grills and we were seated on the far right side. Because there were two kids at the left grill, we figured the chef would use that one and we were right which put us approximately 10 feet from the action. Understandable, but not really the same Hibachi experience. After an hour wait, the pace of Hibachi seems to take much longer. I took the first picture when we were first seated: 8:36 PM. I took the second picture at 8:55 PM. Still no chef. Youâ??ll see I ordered Edamame and it had been boiled and salted, but arrived cold. Chef came by shortly after, which put our entree at 9:30 PM, two hours after we arrived. My wife prefers her steak medium rare, but to her chagrin, has to order it well done for medical reasons. The chef made a joke at her expense. Needless to say, it was difficult to fork up $60 for the experience my wife and I had at Shoji. Itâ??s strange that everyone in line is quoted â??just a few minutes,â? but that could mean immediately, thirty minutes from now, or in an hour. Perhaps if we were in a larger party or had kids, the treatment would have been better.

Cantina Louie Menu with Prices Gerber Village, 2, Gerber Rd, Asheville

Went tonight. Said table for 4, when the table was ready, they said why do you have 4, we were told 2. I made a joke, no one laughed. They then sat us at a bar top table. Waited 15 minutes, no one came by to check on us, give us chips, water, nothing. Waitress were walking to the left of us and right of us, not one glanced at us. So we got up and left. We walked past the front and told the guy, that had seated us, no one ever came by so we are leaving where we can get some food. He asked what table are you at. I said you seated us 15 minutes ago…I don’t know what table it is. That’s all they said….my wife said good luck. I ve been in Asheville for 13 years and never had such bad service. This space has been a rotating door with restaurants, I’m not sure they will last either.

Hickory Tavern – Menu with Prices – 206 Harvey St, Winston-Salem

We finally tried this place about a year ago and fell in love. The food and atmosphere were great and the service was even better. We told everyone we knew. We literally ate here at least once a week for 6 months. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. Before I start, I have to say that my wife and I both work in customer service and are the first ones to give the benefit of the doubt when an establishment has an off night But two in a row starts a trend. The last time we ate here, they were really busy and had a couple of big parties going on. The food was not even close to what we first experienced. We were understanding, but disappointed none the less. We are not the type to complain, so we paid our bill and left. Tonight was a bit more frustrating and unacceptable. We walked in at 5 on a Friday. There were literally 4 tables occupied in the whole place. There was staff everywhere! We were seated immediately, but waited at least 10 minutes before someone came to the table. Meanwhile there were at least 15+ staff members hanging out at the service area. Finally a nice gentleman came to offer us drinks. He said he wasnâ??t sure who our server was, but he would help us. He wound up being our waiter for the evening. He did the best he could. Our order was wrong, we had to go to the bar and get our own drinks, but we did not complain. The manager was dancing around with staff like it was a 14 year olds slumber party. We paid our tab…left our server a nice tip…and will not be back.

Doug’s Day Diner: BOULDER – Menu with Prices – 2400 Arapahoe Ave, Boulder

Came for breakfast this morning and had one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The hostess did not greet us and just grabbed menus and started walking. We weren’t sure whether or not we should follow her as she didn’t even acknowledge that we had come in and then she turned around and gave us a look like we were the ones doing something wrong. Once we walked to where she was standing she said “which table do you want” in a harsh tone and we were finally seated. We waited for 10 minutes before someone even acknowledged that we were there (keep in mind that there were maybe 10 other people in the whole restaurant and there were at least 3 waiters/waitresses.) a woman came over and asked us if we had been helped and then took our order even though we were not one of her assigned tables. Besides taking our order, bringing us the food, and giving us the check, we never had any other interaction with her (she didn’t even introduce herself to us.) when she brought us the check I was immediately ready with my card but she walked away and after waiting for 15 minutes we finally decided to go up to the front to pay there. The hostess gave our waitress my card and she went into the back. After waiting for yet another 10 or 15 minutes, we finally asked if they knew why it was taking so long and the guy we asked responded by saying that my card was sitting on the table we had left. Keep in mind that my boyfriend and I were obviously done with our meal and had both left the table and the waitress still put my credit card on the table that was completely vacant. Worst dining experience I’ve had in a while, definitely not coming back. Just goes to show that the village coffee shop is always a better call than Doug’s

Joe Bologna’s Office – Menu with Prices – 117 W Maxwell St, Lexington

Lot of hype about this restaurant centered around it being located in an old synagogue and upon arriving it smelled wonderful. The location was moderately busy for the weekend dinner hour and our group was given a pager and told about 20 to 30 minutes for the wait. Eager to try this place out we waited and waited a bit more and then waited some more then some more and more and more….well after an hour and 10 minutes and rechecking with the receptionist twice and given blank stares, inclusive of telling us our party could be seated at two different tables across the restaurant from each other (there were only seven of us) we strolled into a relatively busy Mexican food establishment immediately next door which was using some of the same building. Some twenty minutes AFTER being seated there, getting drinks and apps…the pager finally went off. Our waiter offered to return the pager for us. By the way, the Mexican meal was excellent and service was outstanding…Please try Cinco de Mayo Mexican Restaurant

Shrimp Basket Mobile – Old Shell Road – Menu with Prices – 3033, 2540 Old Shell Rd, Mobile

Since moving to Midtown two years ago, this has been my ‘go-to’ restaurant because I have always been able to get in, get seated, and the food is always outstanding. I typically eat here at least once a week, and sometimes more. So, it was very aggravating when I came in at 7:15 this evening and had to wait to get seated, then never got waited on. When I arrived, there was a family of four, then a man (waiting for his spouse), and then me as a single. The party of four was seated immediately, the man was seated in the bar, then the waitress who seated them just disappeared, leaving me standing at the front of the restaurant alone. More people came in and wondered why no one was seating customers. Finally, another waitress offered me a seat at the bar… singles are always treated poorly because they only want you to sit at the bar if you are alone. After being seated, I looked at a menu, made my selection, and waited for someone to come and take my order. I had a magazine with me and sat calmly reading while waiting to order. Another couple sitting just behind me was already finished eating when I arrived and waiting for their check so they could pay and leave. They started asking other waitstaff for their check, but were still sitting and waiting after quite a while. I sat and patiently read my magazine, but no one ever came to take my order or ask me if I wanted anything to drink… there was no one working the bar and there appeared to be at least three waitresses. One was talking on the telephone (not taking an order; talking to someone she knew as I could hear her part of the conversation). Another went into the kitchen and never came back out. The third was waiting tables, seating arriving customers, and cleaning tables. The place was about half full, and it appeared that at least half the customers in the restaurant had finished eating. After fifteen minutes of being totally and completely ignored, I gave up, got my coat and left. The same person who seated me asked if I had ever been helped and I said ‘No’. Her response was, ‘Don’t be upset, we’re very busy’. What they were was understaffed, and poorly disciplined. They knew I was sitting at the bar and simply did not care if I received any service or not. I was not the only person who was ignored. This is not the first time I have received less than stellar service, but it was definitely the worst. And, it will be the last. Mobile has a lot of nice restaurants, including a half dozen within east walking distance of this location. There is no reason to endure being treated like this… most places understand that without customers, you do not stay in business. I will not be back.

The Legacy Golf Club – Menu with Prices – 6808 S 32nd St, Phoenix

We came here on a whim because of a Groupon offer. We also decided it would be a good place to try because of the good reviews on yelp and Groupon. WRONG! First off, it’s not very clear where the restaurant is. None of the signs say the name of the restaurant and if it weren’t for a pamphlet at the entry we wouldn’t have known for certain where we were. We were seated quickly, the place wasn’t very full so we weren’t concerned about a long wait. After being seated we order drinks and it took a while for anyone to come back around. The man who took and brought our drink order turned out to not be our waiter so despite being ready to order we had to wait for a server. It was 26 minutes before the server came to our order. During this time many other tables were seated. Other people ordered their food as well and we waited. In the hour and six minutes that we waited for food three other tables seated after us received food. One table also ordered and received dessert in that time. Another table got their food, ate it, paid and left before we were served. Now you may wonder what we had ordered? Maybe it was something that takes a long time? NOTHING TAKES THAT LONG TO PREPARE. We ordered their fish taco special, grilled salmon and a quesadilla. We were on borrowed time at this point as it was nearing our children’s bed time and they were starving as were we. We paid our bill and requested to go boxes before our food arrived. Despite that we still didn’t get our bill settled until we were half way through our food. And we also ended up waiting fo the to go boxes. I wouldn’t actually tell anyone to come here unless they were already at the gold course or if they aren’t hungry. Need a drink? This is your place! Want a delicious meal that takes and hour and half to get? Then this is where you should eat. Now you may be wondering why I still gave them 3 stars. Our waitress was very nice in spite of her obviously being over burdened with tables. The prickly margaritas were actually quite good and reasonably priced for a gold course. Lastly, the food was actually very good. The grilled salmon was as close to perfect as I could expect from a standard American restaurant, the quesadilla was actually grilled and the cheese was melted ( since being in Arizona we have noticed a lack of melted cheese) and the fish tacos were fantastic. Will we return here? NO Is this place kid friendly? NO Is there a diaper changing table in the bathroom? NO Will I tell people to go here? Probably not If you do go here use a Groupon or the check in offer for 20% off. Other wise it’s not worth it.

Z Asian – Vietnamese Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 1830 E Colonial Dr Ste B, Orlando

I really wanted to love this place because Asian food is my love language. But unfortunately, my first visit here was not great and left much to be desired. We came in on a Sunday afternoon, not packed but there was a large group there for a birthday party that were wrapping things up with cake and singing. Our server promptly took our drink and food orders. I ordered two Krab Rangoon appetizers and he only brought us one. I didn’t bother asking him for my second one because he took quite a long time to come back to us so I didn’t want to keep delaying anymore. I will say that the Krab Rangoon was one of the best I’ve had in a long time. For my meal, I ordered the Chicken and rice plate and my husband ordered the Seafood Pho. This is where things got bad. We waited.. and waited.. and waited. About 25 minutes had passed since we put our order in and our server finally comes back to tell us that they were now making our food. I’m looking around at the 3 other small tables of customers who already had their food and wondering why it was taking so long for our orders. After what it seemed like another eternity (give or take 15 hangry minutes), we finally got our food. I thought my chicken plate was delicious, I enjoyed the buttery flavor and crispness of the skin. My son ate some too with rice and enjoyed it as well. My husband did not like his Seafood Pho at all. And just by looking at it, I could see the oily situation happening on top, it did not look appetizing. I ended up giving him the rest of my rice and chicken because we did not want wait another 40 minutes for anything else. A woman (maybe a manager?) came by and apologized for the wait and said it was due to the large party and that there was a mishap in the kitchen as well. Okay, so the kitchen mishap I can understand. But as for the large party, they were eating their cake when we got there, so I’m not sure why they had any impact on our order. I don’t like to question these things because I don’t know all the ins and outs of running a restaurant, but this was just my honest observation. Lastly, we were ready to pay. And it took another 15 or so minutes to get someone to notice us so we can get our check. I definitely won’t be jumping up to come here again. There were some positives but too many heavy negatives and this is an area infiltrated with a lot of Asian food competition. I don’t like bad reviews, I always try to see the good in everything but this was a solid 3 star experience for me.

The Beacon Cafe 287 – Menu with Prices – 12721 US-287 BUS, Fort Worth

This place barely deserves 1 star. My husband and I went for breakfast once morning. We arrived around 10:45am and got seated promptly. We placed our food and drink order and got or drinks right away. Both of our coffees had coffee grinds in them. Then we waited, and waited, and waited for our food. Finally after about 3 coffee refills and 40 minutes of waiting on our food we asked the waitress about our food. She apologizes and checks on our food. She comes back and says that our order is up next. We continue to wait for another 15 minutes and still no food. We tell the waitress just to bring our check for the coffee and we leave… to go eat Lunch somewhere else! Also, there was a large table next to us that was empty when we arrived and was never bused the entire time we were there.

Rolling Sushi – Menu with Prices – 12592 Foothill Blvd, Rancho Cucamonga

This place has horrible customer service. We walked in and waited to get served someone came and took our order. 10 minutes later a party of four comes in they were high-fiving the chef and they proceeded to go sit down. We waited another 15 minutes they got their food even though we had ordered before them. We proceeded to wait another 15 minutes. We then asked where our food was and didn’t get a response. We asked why it was the other party got their food first and the server told us it was because they are regulars and the chef knew what they wanted. We paid for our drinks and proceeded to leave.

Osaka Mobile – Menu with Prices – 3827 Airport Blvd, Mobile

My husband and I have been here many times before and haven’t ever really run into any problems. I once went on my own and had a rough experience with a waiter who had been there for a day or so. His service was fine but the owner woman kept yelling at him loud enough that I could hear and I felt terrible. Today we went there for lunch and wanted Hibachi. As soon as we arrive they seat us at a table with two people on the end and right across was a full table (the hibachi tables are connected). The couple thought it was weird that they made us sit together (which it was) and they left. We waited about five minutes for the waitress to get our drink order. She brought our waters and we then waited another 15 minutes for her to come back to the table. She told us that another table across the room was there first and we’d have to wait another 15-20 minutes. We didn’t mind waiting but we would have like to have known that a little sooner. She then takes our order. Then the owner comes over to the table while my husband is in the restroom and asked if we want to move over to the table across the room because “it will be quicker”. I told her I wanted to wait and ask my husband and she said ok. She came back 5 more times and asked me the same question and I repeatedly told her I wanted to wait. At this point I was fed up. My husband comes back and we move tables after having been there for about 30 minutes. My husband and I realize that they wanted us to move so they could cook our food with that same large group, to which we knew we would be receiving a smaller portion size because you can’t cook for 12 on one Hibachi grill. So we up and walked out with no food. The owner is very pushy and inconsiderate. The staff is not well trained. It’s a shame because we love the food there. Probably won’t be back.
