The Plantisserie – Plant Based Organic Deli – Menu with Prices – 7316 NE 2nd Ave, Miami

I actually went to Cindy Lou’s cookies to get a small piece of paradise when I noticed this shining new vegan gem next door. The minute I walked in I was entranced by the smell and aura of this place. Everywhere I looked I saw something delicious, there were bakery items, hot food behind glass, to-go food in the fridge, in-house made fermented items, condiment sauces & juices, frozen bakery items, ready-made empanadas, and an enticing menu. What’s even more miraculous, everything is Organic!!! The lovely lady assisting me informed me they’ve only been open for 2 months. They had some colorful vegan ceviche with crackers to try. Wow, It was delicious, it had a nice sharp and tangy taste. But the only thing I had my mind on were the empanadas, and choosing one was no easy task. ~~Empanadas Kale, Spinach & Cashew Cheese Artichoke Mushrooms Eggplant Meatless Knish (Potatoes and Caramelized Onions) Jackfruit Mechada Corn & Cashew Cheese I chose the corn and jackfruit, but after the first bite of deliciousness, I realized I should have bought one of each. I am most definitely returning, and next time for one of their hearty looking meals, and delicious looking juices. ++ they wholesale

The Original Marini’s Empanada House – Menu with Prices – 3522 S Mason Rd #100, Katy

The empanadas I ordered today for take-out were so average I think I’m being generous by giving them 3 stars. Meat empanadas are my favorite of them all (and I’m from Argentina) but the ones I just tried from Marini’s had no meat flavor at all. They strong sauce and condiment eclipsed the rest of the flavors to the point where I couldn’t tell what the other ingredients of the empanada were. The humita empanadas (corn and cheese) were decent, better than the meat ones. I’m highly disappointed. I was happy that I had found foods that taste like home, but these empanadas don’t taste Argentine at all. If anything, they’re so spicy I’d think they were trying to make a Tex-Mex fusion. The bottom line is, if you want real Argentine empanadas, this is not my recommended spot for you. If you still decide to try Marini’s, make sure you visit the Westheimer location, as their products are slightly better.

Lucy’s bakery – Menu with Prices – 44 Ferry St, Newark

I needed something sweet after my lunch at a local restaurant and searched three different bakeries to find it and I finally found what I was looking for a Lucy’s Bakery, which is located on Ferry Street right near Penn Station.I was greeted by the owners little daughter, who is a great salesperson and I ended buying a $2.00 doughnut, which I thought was a little steep for a doughnut but it ended up being delicious. It was one of those fluffy chewy doughnuts and tasted like it had just been made and it was filled with a guava jelly that was excellent. It had a nice tangy flavor to it. They also have empanadas and all sorts of savory pies for sale as well.

New Buenos Aires Bakery & Cafe – Menu with Prices – 1723 W Verdugo Ave, Burbank

3.5 Eclectic and cozy Argentinean restaurant, cafe, and bakery in Toluca Lake that sells empanadas a lil pricier than Portos, but cheaper than World Empanadas. But everything else is out of my price range (pastas, pizzas, and Argentinean entrees). Luckily I wasn’t starving and was very satisfied with my single Beef Empanada that came out to $2.68 w/ tax. Quick Tips: -Don’t think they have parking, but Street/Neighborhood parking in Toluca Lake/Burbank is so easy. -Unique chairs and tables inside. Four 2tops, three 6tops, three sorta-high tops, and a small 2top outside. -Order at the counter and they bring it to you. -CHEAP PIZZA SPECIAL -Empanadas are baked here Taste 4/5 Very hot. Thin, perfectly cooked crust. Ground beef, onions, a whole green olive, a sliver of hard boiled egg. Could have used more egg, but I loved it. Price 4/5 Great price for empanadas, especially for the quality. Service 3/5 This is where it lacked. Walked in and waited at the counter for a long while. Had to ask for chimichurri when my empanada came, but it was mostly all oil in the ramekin. Great option for empanadas if you don’t want to wait at Portos.

Hildegard’s Bakery – Menu with Prices – 686 Portage Ave #100, Winnipeg

How exciting! A new bakery with home fired pizza right on the Trans Canada Highway! The new urban home of Integrity Foods that we’ve been waiting for. No more two hour drives north to get this delicious baking and pizza! You will fall in love with the incredible space. The amazing original honeycomb tiles on the floor create the perfect ambiance to go with the delicious baking here. There is loads of seating and beautiful huge windows let so much light in that makes this place an urban jungle with all of the greenery. You can take out bread or have some baking right inside. Pizza is home made and fired in their brick wood fire oven. I’m still so impressed that I can’t get the proper words out of my mouth and into a review. You will not be disappointed with the goods nor the beautiful space. I wish I could give this place six stars!

New York Bakery Menu with Prices 10720 E Iliff Ave, Aurora

New York Bakery! Once again you SHINE Thru.. This time around with your GREEN TEA CAKE! My Oh My! It was indeed delicious, SUPER MOIST and the Icing Cream indeed MELT in my mouth! In between the two layers of the Green Tea Cake, New York Bakery, put slices of Peaches with the Buttercream Icing. My Oh My, thankfully, the Green Tea Cake is NOT as sweet, just I like it from my kind of Cakes… The Green Tea Cake got ALOT OF THUMBS UP especially from the Birthday Girl herself and all my friends who had it on Saturday evening, November 8th 2014. El Triunfo Bakery – Menu with Prices – 6348 S Nogales Hwy, Tucson

I’m not too sure why this place only has 1 review? Perhaps it’s the location. That being said, if you’re anywhere on the south side of town it’s worth a stop. Don’t be afraid. The exterior of the bakery can certainly be intimidating…looks more like an old prison than a place to pick up some empanadas!! I used to frequent this bakery when I worked at Raytheon since it’s on the way so I knew I could stop by en route to the airport and get some tortillas and empanadas to take to friends in MN. I don’t remember their selection being so small but it had been years since I had been to El Triunfo and over those years I’ve since visited many other panaderias. I ordered up my dozen empanadas; pineapple, apple and pumpkin, as well as 2 dozen extra large tortillas. They didn’t have the tortillas up front so I was worried but the gal behind the counter brought me some from the back that were just made and still warm!! I knew I was sending this stuff with my husband but I just couldn’t help myself and shoved a pumpkin empanada down my throat before I pulled out of the parking lot. Seriously those things are some of the best pastries on the planet. I can’t stand pastries that are overly sweet and these were some of the best tasting in Tucson. One of these days I need to have an empanada throw down because I think every time I taste one I say it’s “the best”. I just love love love them! El Triunfo bakes theirs to perfection with the right amount of sweet and the right amount of pumpkin and pure flaky perfection. Just beautiful!!

Colorado Bakery – Menu with Prices – 464 Colorado Blvd, Glendale

Love this bakery!!! It is my favorite bakery in LA. The bread is always fresh and delicious. I love the Matnakash(crunchy on outside, fluffy on the inside), Barbari(has sesame seeds sprinkled on the bread) and lavash. The place also has a mini market inside which is very convenient. Love coming to Colorado bakery every morning for some fresh bread.

Tango Pastry Menu with Prices 6100 Richmond Hwy, Alexandria

Tango Pastry is a small, unassuming Argentinean bakery, attached to the Days Inn off of Richmond Highway. They have a pretty extensive menu, being a small bakery/cafe – facturas, various pastries, alfajores, cakes, breads, a brunch menu, and what they’re famously known, empanadas. We ordered a small box of various cookies/pastries – mini tarts filled with quince, alfajores, a little chocolate cookie bomb, and a glazed sweet croissant; all were the perfect amount of sweetness (which was not too sweet); the shortbread-like parts of the cookies were tasty, and all were fluffy and not dried out. Emapandas fillings include chicken, corn and cheese, ham and cheese, beef, tuna, spinach, and onion and cheese. We chose all, except for the tuna. The empanada shell is made with puff pastry, and all come generously filled. The hubs enjoyed the ham and cheese the most, while I really enjoyed the spinach one (tasted like spanakopita!). Ms. Sandra, who helped us, was very welcoming and very sweet! She explained all of the pastries/desserts in the case. Definitely a good number of people dining in as well as picking up pre-orders. Definitely a hidden gem off of Route 1 – I’ll definitely be back for their empandas! -empanadas -ask for Ms. Sandra! +attached to Days Inn +plenty of parking in lot

Pan Ugo Bakery – Menu with Prices – 8442 Jamaica Ave, Jamaica

I stumbled on this bakery about a year ago, was new to the neighborhood. Went in for just some coffee. The atmosphere was very cozy and pleasant. They had many verities of cakes, bread, empanadas. They are always stocked with pretty much everything you can ask for, they also make natural juices, My favorite is the passion fruit, very good. Also the oatmeal, (Avena) is very good,, I recommended you arrive early as it goes very quickly.. I must overall this bakery has just about everything you can ask for. I save the best for last, the customer service there is great, the young ladies are very polite and always courteous to all the clients that come in everyone gets treated the same customer service level. I recommend if you haven’t tried it, stop by. Great Bakery (Best Coffee in Jamaica)

Fuji Bakery-Bellevue Menu with Prices 699 120th Ave NE #3009, Bellevue

Recently Fuji Bakery returned back to Bellevue opening up a kiosk storefront inside Uwajimaya next to Ellenos Greek Yogurt. With this new shop opening, Bellevue again has a Japanese bakery. It doesn’t seem like they do baking at this location, so the selection is more limited than you will find at the International District store. At this location, you will find a selection of cakes, macarons, pastries and Japanese style sandwiches at reasonable prices. Also, you can find their shokupan in the bread aisle at Uwajimaya. On a grocery shopping trip, I picked up a couple pastries to go for a Sunday morning breakfast. I noticed that Fuji is now offering malasadas, so I had to give them a try being a Hawaii native. Ordered a malasada ($1.50) and a custard bun ($2.25). I enjoyed both pastries. The malasada here is good and is the closest in taste and texture to the ones at Leonard’s in Honolulu. The only knock was that they were not fresh out of the oven and hot which is the best time to eat them. The custard bun was delicious with a nice thick cream filling inside. It is great to have a Japanese bakery again in Bellevue. I would like to see a better selection of baked goods to choose from here, but happy enough with their presence at Uwajimaya.

Cosmic Cakery – Menu with Prices – 150 W Olmos Dr, San Antonio

Last December my fiancé and I were on the hunt for a bakery to do our wedding cake. Since we live out of state, we had to do our wedding planning on our short trips to S.A. We called around to our top 5 bakeries in the area and asked for a quick tasting while we were in town. Brittany was so sweet at squeezing us in that day and whipping up our tasting in the 20 minutes from calling her to arriving at her bakery. She made our tasting so easy and delicious that we didn’t need to look any further. Her cakes were light, fluffy and not sickeningly sweet. The day of our wedding we received so many compliments on the cake tasting fabulous and super moist- not to mention she nailed our “sprinkle” cake look. My only regret is not taking the leftover cake home! We had three different flavors and I wish I had tasted all of them but I was off mingling so I only tried one flavor. We will definitely stop by the bakery next month to pick up some cupcakes!
