NOTE: Cash only Such a cute place. It’s like dining on the streets of Paris with the backdrops and railings. I like that this place is clean and has plenty of parking. Each table has an organized utensil bin consisting of chop sticks, forks, spoons, and dipping trays. We got complimentary garlic bread as starters and ordered Bo Ne which is like an inexpensive version of steak and eggs on a sizzling fajita skillet. Each one comes with one roll of French bread for dipping and a side of Caesar salad with no dressing. Another way to describe Bo Ne is like country fried steak with gravy. The steak was soft and chewy, not recommended for old folks with dentures.                                          -Deep fried hen served with red rice, topped with an over easy egg, bowl of broth, pickled veggies with a side of green (cilantro lime) and red dipping sauce (sweet and tangy). This dish came out last. The chicken was dry in the inside but the dipping sauce helped as well as the broth. -Bo Ne with mushroom wine sauce – creamy. -Bo Ne with pate sauce – more creamy than the mushroom sauce -French Fries – First time I’ve seen French Fries at a Vietnamese restaurant. I guess it fits the theme of dining in France! -Rau Ma (Pennywort) – I ordered Rau Ma dau xanh (mung bean) but they probably only heard the first part. I didn’t bother to complain because it was pretty and the Rau ma was refreshing. I liked that they were careful on the sugar and left it kind of bland for you to pour more in if you want. -Fish sauce wings – The wings could be a bit crispier. It came with the same green sauce and a yellow sauce. The yellow was like a mustard.

Chic N Fish – Menu with Prices – 954 J Clyde Morris Blvd, Newport News

I liked my experience here but the Momma forgot my French fries that I ordered and my butt was burning for the next few days when the chicken came out of me. LOL. I found this place on yelp and heard about it from others at my workplace. I was craving good wings and I love Korean fried wings! I ordered the 24 piece wings and got half hot and half Korean garlic. I also ordered kimchee, rice, and fries as it was my meal for lunch and dinner. I put in the phone order as the wings take about 30 minutes to make. I probably screwed the Momma up by ordering my sides once I got there. But she was a super nice lady. She scolded me for asking for blue cheese or ranch. She said these are Korean style wings so no need dipping sauce. She was right! The wings were very flavorful and delicious. I would have liked it a little more crispy but it was still very good. The rice and kimchee was good as was the pickled radish. I am sure my French fries would have been good to if I got it. It was actually my fault for not checking all my stuff before I left and also for forgetting that I even ordered the fries. Overall, I agree this is one of the best places for wings in the area and I enjoyed my conversation with the Momma of the restaurant!

Town Tavern – Menu with Prices – 2119 Brewerton Rd, Syracuse

Upon recommendation from a few people, we had to try their shaved ribeye steak sandwich. We ordered out for dinner 3 steak sandwiches (one with mushroom only; one with provolone, mushroom, and onion; one with swiss, mushroom, and onion). We also ordered a large fry and an order of beer battered onion rings. The steak was a great piece of meat. It wasn’t grizzly, fatty, or greasy. It was very tasty but would’ve been even better if it was taken off the grill a little sooner. I think it was a tad over cooked. There wasn’t much of the toppings which was really disappointing especially because they charge extra for the onion and mushroom. And even though the order was rang into the receipt correctly, the kitchen mistakenly added cheese to the one that wasn’t supposed to have any. Luckily it wasn’t a lot of cheese. The roll was a soft white hoagy. I think it would’ve been better if they grilled it a bit. It tasted like old white bread. All of the sandwiches came with a bag of Lays potato chips and a pickle spear. The onion rings were big fat pieces of onion coated in beer batter and fried to perfection. They were crispy and delicious. And not greasy at all. The French fries were so crispy and delicious. I was actually surprised how crispy they were after getting them home. Normally fries to not travel well. All in all… I would try them again… maybe with some special requests.

Sea World Fish Market – Menu with Prices – 15084 Gratiot Ave, Detroit

I was home in Detroit for a couple of days and we ordered a large pan of fried wings, catfish, and French fries. I don’t eat chicken, but by the looks of how my family was chowing down, it must’ve been good. I had the catfish and French fries. The catfish was fresh, well seasoned, and crisp on the outside. My grandma was disappointed that it only came with two slices of white bread. No one else was concerned with this, as we weren’t going to eat it anyways. We could’ve used more hot sauce, but I’m sure that would’ve been provided for us, had we’d asked. When I come to town again, I’m eating here.

Crave Wings – Menu with Prices – 13633 Warwick Blvd #1, Newport News

Crave Wings is what I consider a chicken wing gem in Newport News. The location is off Warwick in a small shopping center around other international stores. The inside is decorated with simple decor and decent seating for a casual restaurant. A few TV’s are on the walls and the place is always clean. The restaurant has a moderate sized menu of both American fare (Burger & Sandwiches) and Korean food, but the main attraction is the chicken wings (bone-in). The chicken wings are pretty large as compared to Wingstop or Buffalo Wild Wings. They are unbreaded, flash fried wings, that are coated in your dry rub or sauce of choice. They have plenty of sauce/dry rub options from honey BBQ, to garlic pepper, to traditional hot. A 10 wing combo with french fries and drink will run you about $14 which is still comparable to other chicken wing restaurants. The food is cooked to order so you’ll have wait, usually about 10 minutes, but the wings are worth it. The chicken wings and the sauces are flavorful. The chicken wing meat tastes as if it’s been brined or marinated before it was actually flash fried. Once fried, the wings have a slight exterior crunch. The french fries are just your basic crinkle cut fry and I’m pretty sure they are unsalted unless you ask. You could probably skip on those and use your money to get another side or more chicken wings. The fries can’t be substituted out of the combo though so you’ll have to buy the side separate. Beyond the traditional wings and a few sides, I can’t speak to much of the other items on the menu. If you are going to a place called Crave Wings, I can’t imagine you’d be looking to get anything other than the wings anyway. They are the star.

Choong Man Chicken – Menu with Prices – 2180 Pleasant Hill Rd, Duluth

I’ll have to say, I read the reviews and thankfully my experience was so much better than I expected! I came on my birthday (none of the workers actually knew that it was, lol) and our table was treated quite well! The four of us decided to try a couple different kinds of chicken, and settled on the Snow Onion Chicken, which has been all over social media, as well as the Garlic Soy Tikkudak wings. And to switch things up, we ordered a side of French Fries. While we were waiting, a server walked around offering around free samples of Curry Chicken, which worked out perfectly since it was our 3rd choice. And we instantly regretted not ordering this, because it was one of my favorite flavors overall! The Snow Onion Chicken is delicious! I love raw onions (I know, gross) but with the sauce and the crispy fried chicken, I found this to be quite hard to stop eating. We even started dipping our French fries in the sauce. The Garlic Soy Tikkudak was recommended by our server and it was ok. Thankfully, we ordered a order of the wings and not the whole chicken. They weren’t bad, but not as amazing as the Curry! Overall, I was very impressed and pleasantly surprised by how good the food was! I will definitely be back, although if I’m looking for a mediocre and cheap alternative closer to me, I may just stick to Hello Chicken. But did I mention it’s also next door to Ding Tea? Let me know if that changes your mind!!! Lol!

Khoi Hung Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 10548 Westminster Ave, Garden Grove

Khoi Hung’s menu offers French inspired Vietnamese dishes. I happen to find myself in the area and decided to dine solo at Khoi Hung for dinner. I ordered the filet mignon ($12.99) in garlic butter sauce. This entree comes with your choice of red rice, French fries, macaroni, or a baguette. I opted for the macaroni and ordered an additional side of French fries ($2.99) because I was indecisive. Before my meal was brought out, I was given complimentary soup and salad. The soup was egg drop and with a little bit of black pepper, was good for what it was. The salad portion was small, however, the dressing was delicious – some sort of soy sauce vinaigrette. This was a nice surprise. My steak came out on sizzling hot platter. It sat on top of a bed of onions, and the garlic butter (actual garlic pieces) continued to melt and cook at the table. The steak was so tender and flavorful. I liked the addition of the onions as well – it paired well with the steak. The macaroni was a tad greasy, but the fries with surprisingly really good. I initially thought they’d taste starchy from the way that they looked, but when I bit into one, I was taken aback at the freshness of the fry. Overall, I had a really great dining experience here. You really get a lot for your money. The restaurant doesn’t have the upscale French-Vietnamese feel that similar restaurants have, but overall, food was on par. It’s also cash only.

Take 2 Grill – Menu with Prices – 1968 Miami St, Toledo

Pretty decent Deli Sandwiches and Fried Food. We had a Philly Steak Sandwich with cheese and mushrooms. It had plenty of beef, but could have used a little more cheese. As it turned out, it was a bit on the dry side as well. We also tried the Fried Chicken Wings and they were crispy and had a good flavor. We had hot sauce on the side, but only used small amount. The Onion Rings and French Fries were hot and crunchy. They paired up nicely with a fresh container of ketchup. The Triple Play was a Fried Cheese Appetizer that came with a tangy cocktail sauce. The three types of cheese were also served fresh, hot and crispy. All in all it was a pleasant meal and a nice change up from our usual AUCE meal at the Epic Buffet next door. I can give it 3 stars and I’ll be back…

WINGS PLUS A Whole Lot More Menu with Prices 9525 Parkway E, Birmingham

I been meaning to try this place out quite some time, but never had the time. All of sudden, while at work, I had a hunch for some good old fashion fried green tomatoes. I tried every wings place in my area that serve fried green tomatoes except for Wings Plus. For anyone who wants to eat in, you’re out of luck since they only have drive thru. Coming here during the rush hour traffic that evening, I’m expecting a long wait in the drive thru, but it goes by pretty quickly. I got the 10 piece wings combo for $7.99 and the fried green tomatoes for only $3.99. My little interaction with the employee was nice which I’ve always appreciate business having good customer service. The hot and lemon pepper wings and fries were good, but the only little issue is that the chicken wings were dry since I’ve struggled to pull the wings apart. The highlight of my meal was the fried green tomatoes. Most places for what ever reason choose not to add any seasoning or not enough, but that wasn’t the case which I’d enjoy every bite.

Wings Empire – Menu with Prices – 263 E Orange Ave, Chula Vista

I ordered the wing combo with French Fries. Well I should have known something because my order was done to fast. The French fries were hard and not fresh. The wings were not fresh and over cooked barely with any sauce. The wings were obviously cooked in advance because there was no way that the wings could have been cooked that fast. They were very dark and not edible. I ordered the food to go so I didn’t realize it until I got home. I called and asked to speak to a manager and the girl that answered said the manager won’t be in until tomorrow. She didn’t bother to ask if she could help me with anything. The customer service here is terrible. The quality of the food here is awful. I’ll never visit this store again. This is not a real “Wings Empire.”

The University Club – Madison – Menu with Prices – 803 State St, Madison

This is a great place to visit for breakfast or lunch. It is open to the public. It has that Old World vibe with wood beams, large windows, and real linen tablecloths. This is a place to go to dine when you want to take your time, relax, and just breathe. I took my mom here as a lunch treat. They had a special menu to honor Mardi Gras, but we ordered off the regular menu. We each ordered a cup of the Vegetable Squash soup ($3)and we shared the Turkey and Brie Pannini with roasted red pepper, moustardo and served on pretzel bread ($11). We chose sweet potato fries as the side that would accompany our sandwich. We both ordered ice tea ($2). When I asked our server if the soup was a clear broth or a cream base, she quickly went to the kitchen and found out that it was a clear broth.A variety of breads were served in a bread basket before the soup arrived.The soup came with crackers in small white bowls. The squash and vegetables were well seasoned and the broth was hot, rich and satisfying, especially on such a cold day. Our sandwich was served next with a side of sweet potato fries and a spread/dipping sauce. The sauce was a smooth mayonnaise base with a hint of heat. The Pannini reminded of the kind you can get in a Europe bistro. The sandwich was flattened so that all the ingredients are compacted into a wonderful bite. The sandwich had a slightly sweet taste from the moustardo and roasted red peppers. The turkey was tender and the brie added that creamy richness that melts in your mouth. All in all, a great success as a sandwich. I wish I knew the name of our server, as she was quick and charming. The service was top notch. So, if you want to take a break, I strongly suggest this wonderful, old world restaurant.

Anf gyros & grill (ocala) – Menu with Prices – 2400 SW 19th Avenue Rd, Ocala

I have been excited for this place to open for a few months ever since I saw the Gyro sign. I love Greek food. It finally opened last week. It’s not a sit down restaurant where you have a waitress you just order your food and seat yourself. I went on a Saturday night and it was dead. That should have been my first clue. To my surprise there was no Greek food on the menu except for 1 Gyro sandwich. It was mostly wings and fried seafood but I still decided to give it a try since we were there. I asked the cashier if their calamari was fresh or frozen and she immediately responded that it was fresh. I ordered the calamari and fried oysters with tartar sauce. My friend ordered a combo plate with fried fish and shrimp and French fries. When I got my order I knew immediately that the calamari was frozen. It wasn’t good at all. You could clearly tell it was frozen calamari. That’s why I specifically asked the cashier if it was frozen or fresh. The fried oysters had a weird taste also and the tartar sauce was a small peel off container of tartar sauce. I expected for them to at least have homemade tartar sauce if you’re going to sell fried seafood. My friend didn’t care for her food at all ether. Her French fries were so weird because they were a bright yellow color. We both didn’t eat any of our food and just left it on the table. We didn’t even ask for a refund. We were both embarrassed for the place. This place was a huge disappointment for a new business in Ocala. I’m sure that this place won’t be open very long unless they step up the food quality and make sure the staff knows the difference between fresh seafood and frozen. I do not recommend this place at all.

American Wings & Deli – Menu with Prices – 2420 Pio Nono Ave, Macon

Hot wings, lemon pepper wings, this place has the best on the south side of town. Large wings with hot sauce that clings to the meat. The combo comes with a huge heap of crispy krinkle-kut fries, carrot and celery sticks, your choice of dressing, and a beverage. They also have the usual other foods for a place like this: chicken teriyaki with fried rice; fried fish platters; salads; burgers; Philly steak sandwiches; etc. Owned by a Korean family, the front counter is staffed by African-American women while Latinos do most of the cooking. Truly an international enterprise. From I-75, take the exit for U.S. Highway 80 / Eisenhower Pkwy. Go west to Pio Nono Ave. and turn right. I’ve only ever had the wings here, so that’s all I can recommend. I knew this place had the best wings when I saw a crew of cooks from another wings place come in and order hot wings. ‘Nuff said! You can dine in, but I get it to go because I live nearby. The atmosphere is nothing to brag about, but even when they’re busy they move things along at a pretty good clip.
