Food and drink is one of life’s finest pleasures. Although I prefer to drink my carbs (beer!), I will make an exception, if the carbs are worth it. I’m new to Bend, so I shamelessly use Yelp! to see what’s good, and find new places to try. I’m a 10 minute stroll from this place, so I decided to go for it and check it out…and I’ve been there three times in the past week. I was looking for beer and a sandwich to go with the bag of chips I had, and I definitely found what was looking for. I ordered half a turkey sandwich on wheat (made by the owner, Bill), and discovered a nice selection of juices, root and ginger beer, sparkling water, wine both white and red, and lots of beers I’ve never seen or tried! I came back this morning hungry, and though I mainly came in for breakfast, I couldn’t help but check the beer cooler, and found a Belgian Dubbel from Block 15! There were only four left, so it was hard to not want to buy them all. I don’t often eat bagels, but if I’m going to eat 300 calories of carbs, I’m going to make it worth it. Although they don’t make breakfast sandwiches with eggs, this bagel sandwich with lox, capers, lemon and smoked salmon. I had it on my choice of bagel, and braced myself for that epic foodie moment that came after one bite – everything else in the universe disappears for a moment, and there is just you, and the amazing flavor! You can actually do a bunch of food shopping here too – they offer their baked goods frozen, along with fresh greens, quality produce like onions, squash, and garlic! Nothing bad to say about this place.

Fill Your Belly Deli – Menu with Prices – 282 Manor Rd, Staten Island

I was on military duties( dressed in uniform) going in for breakfast the guys made a mistake and gave someone else my sandwich and gave me his. I went back after seeing he made a mistake to get it fix. He seem annoyed. I told him what i had asked for , he said ok. Now I payed $5:25 for a bagel beef sandwich. He gave me a deef patty with no bagel . I asked wheres the bagel. He then put the beef patty on the bagel with egg that I brought back. I told him I dont eat eggs thats why I walked back to fix it. Dude started mouthing off “I dont have anymore bagels,” you change your order too much.” Went in the cash register pull the money and slap it on the counter.” ( disrespectful customer service to the ppl who support their business) if your military do not buy there. He has no respect for us who over pay for there meals.

Fresh Start Market and Espresso – Menu with Prices – 3020 Center St NE, Salem

I used to love going to this place for a quick breakfast. But we went today without having gone for awhile and the quality has gone waaaaaaaay down hill. We ordered a plain bagel, toasted, with cream cheese and a bagel sausage breakfast sandwich. The biggest issue was the breakfast sandwich. What we got, was a microwaved Jimmy Dean biscuit sandwich. This is obviously not a bagel sandwich. Also, even if I had been okay with a biscuit sandwich, I definitely don’t want a gross, greasy, msg filled, microwaved sandwich. But even the plain bagel with cream cheese was a failure. The bagel itself was terrible. It was thin, dense and very dry. When they toasted it, it got even drier and was burnt in places. And the tiny serving of cream cheese they provided barely covered one side of the bagel. This was a huge let down. However! I do have to say, I went here for lunch a couple of weeks ago and got a black bean burger that was very good. So, go ahead and give it a shot for lunch, but for breakfast, you are better off just buying something in the frozen section and microwaving it yourself. It would probably be cheaper and you’d at least be able to pick out something you actually want.

Cafe Uccello – Menu with Prices – 340 14th St, Oakland

Let me first start off by saying that the staff at Uccello were very welcoming and kind. We ordered the smoked salmon and cheese crepe, the classic breakfast crepe, and The Butterfly drink. Also going to add in the fact that their water glasses are cute! The smoked salmon and cheese crepe was divine. It was a little on the saltier side but they definitely did not skim out on any of the ingredients. The crepe had smoked salmon, mozzarella, spinach, lemon pepper, organic lemon juice, garlic aioli, and parsley. Would definitely get again. My boyfriend had the classic breakfast crepe. It didn’t come out super hot and there was a ton of cheese (a bit too much) that wasn’t really melted anymore on the crepe. But overall he still enjoyed it. This crepe had ham, eggs, cheese, crushed peppercorn, and basil garnish. Lastly The Butterfly drink. It’s an extremely aesthetic drink that has 100% real honey, organic lemon juice, and puréed strawberries and watermelon. I wasn’t a fan of this one. I think it might have had too much honey? I’m not really sure, it kind of tasted like a Pressed Juicery/grassy type of drink. So if you’re into those types of drinks, I would recommend! It is a healthy choice. Overall, Uccello’s presentation, atmosphere, and seating is great. Thanks Uccello for having us!

The Daily Bagel – Menu with Prices – 545 E 8th Ave Suite A, Eugene

I AM BEYOND EXCITED AND HAPPY TO HAVE DAILY BAGEL IN MY IMMEDIATE NEIGHBORHOOD!. Daily Bagel used to provide my previous employer with bagels for work events and breakfast hour at the cafeteria. The first time that I tasted their bagels, I knew that I was eating a genuine, Jewish style bagel, boiled, then baked for authentic quality. I love these bagels, I’m so excited that this new location is within a blocks walking distance from my new work office. The food is stunningly delicious, the coffee is bold and tasty. I ordered the Lox and egg breakfast sandwich (hell yes!) This really is Eugene’s best bagel. Highly recommended, please check them out !.

Noah’s NY Bagels – Menu with Prices – 123 Lincoln Center, Stockton

I’ve been on the lookout for a bagel store in Stockton. I decided to give Noah’s a try today for the first time. It was quite busy for a Sunday morning. I ordered the super onion bagel toasted and had half of the bagel with smoked salmon schmear and the other half with a garlic and herb schmear. I was pretty excited to try their bagels since they have a large variety of different bagels to choose from. The super onion bagel came out way too burnt. The onion flakes on top of the bagel were completely black and it deteriorated from the flavor of the schmear. When I was able to find a part that wasn’t burnt, I loved the pairing of the onion bagel and smoked salmon schmear. The garlic and herbs schmear did not disappoint either. Tip- if you have your bagel toasted, ask them to not toast it too much. You can also have a different schmear and each half of the bagel! I would’ve easily given this place a 4 stars if my bagel didn’t come out burnt.

Gib’s New York Bagels – Menu with Prices – 1112 Oakridge Dr, Fort Collins

We had enjoyed take-out bagels from Gibâ??s Bagels & Deli, but had not eaten there. So we stopped in for lunch. The coffee crowd and lunch crowd were gathering at noon. In addition to many kinds of New York style bagels and spreads, they offer bagel sandwiches and salads. My wife had the smoked salmon bagel sandwich which made a satisfying and hearty lunch. I had a hot pastrami & Swiss bagel sandwich â?? a full flavored and filling lunch. Gibâ??s is a friendly place to pick up bagels or to relax and enjoy a good deli sandwich.

BALÍ coffee+ – Menu with Prices – 722 11th Ave, San Diego

Great little coffee shop that’s not only making terrific coffee products but also some great eats. I had a very well balanced cafe latte and a wonderful smoked salmon sandwich on a unique house baked bagel. The latte was smooth and rich. The espresso flavor came through distinctively in a very good way. Other than needing just a little more smoked salmon, the little sandwich was quite good. It came with a spread of their homemade pesto, you go to love that, sliced cucumbers for texture, and the aged Parmesan cheese for that quality nutty and saltiness, not to mention the soft and silky smoked salmon with its hints of the sea and subtle smoky flavor. I liked their version of a bagel. It does not have a whole in the middle so you get more of it! But, seriously, it was soft in the right places and the toasting gave it a good crusty texture a top. Via a Yelp Check In, I was able to acquire a croissant that was prepared and baked in house. It was very nice. It had a light flaky crust and soft buttery center. If you get one, make sure they warm it up! Great stuff! Service was super nice and attentive.

The Daily Bagel – Menu with Prices – 495 Morrill Ave #102, Reno

My boyfriend and I visited our friends in Reno this past weekend and wanted to try a new spot in town. One thing that definitely drew us to The Daily Bagel was that they offer both breakfast and lunch sandwiches as long as they are open! This was a win for us since half of us wanted breakfast and half of us wanted lunch. I opted for the #1 (egg, American cheese, and choice of meat – sausage for me) on a tomato pesto cheese bagel. My boyfriend got the Sports Edition with red onion added on a garlic bagel. My best friend and her fiancé got one breakfast sandwich and a lunch sandwich as well. Our orders came out super fast and steaming hot! We decided to eat inside since it was hot outside and there were tables available. Our sandwiches were individually wrapped and packed up in a paper bag, which made it convenient if we wanted to grab our food and go, or had leftovers. Bagel sandwiches can sometimes be messy, with a high chance of splooge, but we didn’t run into that problem! Despite the sandwiches being stacked full of ingredients, I was happy to find that they were also wonderfully self-contained. Must be some kind of delicious bagel magic. The four of us loved finding this gem in Reno and hope to try other bagel flavors in the future! If you’re seeking out specific flavors, be sure to visit early to get em before their gone – the early bird gets the bagel.

Uncle Nick’s Italian Deli, Bagels and Catering – Menu with Prices – 6955 Old Rd 37, Lakeland

Holy cannoli! They weren’t kidding about the quality of food! FANTASTIC! I got a bagel breakfast sandwich, with egg, cheese, and bacon on a jalapeno bagel…YUMMMMMMM!!! It was fabulous. I’m from Florida, so I have probably never in my life had a real bagel. I’m used to the lead weights the grocery chains sell, which are fine if you’ve never had a real bagel. (I’m afraid I probably won’t buy one anymore from a chain store.) Nick’s bagels are soft and airy, and delicious. You can see these weren’t made in a factory somewhere but in the back with love because his name is on the door. There was lots of Italian food to choose from but this morning I only had eyes for that bagel sandwich. Next time, some cheesecake, maybe come ravioli and garlic bread will follow me home. Great job, Uncle Nick! I wish you were my uncle.

On Your Mark Cafe – Menu with Prices – 639 Forest Ave, Staten Island

I ate in here for breakfast with the guy I am currently dating. I have had food from this place before, but never ate-in until yesterday. Like Heather (my sister-in-law) said, it is funded by “On Your Mark.” Your order is taken by and served by the consumers (People who utilize the services of OYM. I had pancakes with bacon. Matt had eggs with hash-browns, bacon and a bagel. We also had 2 bottles of water. Our breakfast bill came to $6.25. Our conversation during the meal: FYI Matt and I are both Jewish. Matt: This a really good bagel. I think it’s the best I ever had. Me: Now is it a good bagel that tastes like regular bread,? or a good bagel as in a JEWISH bagel? Matt: Jewish bagel, wanna try a piece? Me: (Makes “this is the best i’ve ever had face”) Matt: You don’t like it? Me: NOOO I love it! This IS a Jewish bagel.

Bodo’s Bagels – Menu with Prices – 1418 Emmet St N, Charlottesville

When I was a student at UVA, Bodo’s was the universal staple. I visited Charlottesville this past weekend and knew I had to make a stop (or two) at my all-time favorite bagel place. Don’t be scared by the line…it moves QUICK and the bagels are baked to perfection so you won’t be disappointed. I can come for breakfast/brunch and get a solid egg and cheese (sometimes with No Bull if I’m HUNGRY) bagel, or lunch and get a sandwich for whatever mood I’m in! The options are endless so if you’re feeling basic you can get a standard bagel with cream cheese (I’d recommend the Jalapeno Lime or Honey Pecan), but if you’re more adventurous you could go for a bagel sandwich with lettuce, onion, tomato, pesto, red pepper spread, and provolone (just spitballin’ here :P). In any case, Bodo’s is by far the best bagel spot in Charlottesville and I highly recommend.

Ziggy’s Bakery & Deli Menu with Prices 1550 Hendersonville Rd, Asheville

Kind of a hidden gem. In a strip mall. Not a very large sign to tell you its here. Parking is kinda difficult to find but keep looking and you’ll find a spot to enjoy this meal spot. Walking in feels very inviting. The colors are very warming. They offer inside and outdoor seating for the nice Asheville days. This place is called “Ziggys” which is nice because that’s also what a lot of my friends call me. They have a small deli and offer meats by the pound at a very reasonable price. They even have Hoop Cheddar from Ashe County. The demographic is very nice here. Some of the retirees and younger generations here. A nice place to have a meal. The staff here is very friendly. They always say thank you for coming in. That’s something I feel that’s something that many businesses are missing. Now for what you’ve been waiting for…the food! I ordered an egg bagel with smoked jalapeno spread toasted. The bagel has a very nice flavor and chew. The spread has a very smokey flavor and smell. It tastes like a mesquite smoke. Very nice. The slight char on the bagel shows that it was toasted nicely. No one wants a burnt bagel. But the flavor of the bagel is definitely better than others I’ve tried. The chew isnt like eating bubble gum like some places. I dont like to have to chew it for 2 or 3 minutes before I can swallow it. Lol. Very good representation of a bagel. Probably the best I’ve ever had. But can we discuss this Philly cheesesteak sandwich! I’ve had Philly’s in Philly. This is better than those. THEY EVEN HAVE WIZ!!! Go to any cheesesteak place in this area and they wouldnt know what you’re talking about. The meat is minced so it’s easy to eat and it holds the cheese sauce really well. The meat is great! The hogie roll is soft and hot. Mushrooms and onions are cooked very well. I think the cheesesteak outshines the bagel. People I definitely recommend this place. Come for breakfast bagels and stay for a lunch cheesesteak. Tell them you want a steak wit and they will know what you want. Definitely a hidden gem in Asheville. I highly recommend this place!
