Just opened under a year this is a diamond in the rough. Owned by a couple who moved down here years ago from New Jersey, this is an outstanding deli so brings memories of New York back home. A lot of fun, great food, and very favorable prices. Pay attention to the hours as they are closed for a couple of hours in the afternoon.

Eagle Lakes Golf Club – Menu with Prices – 18100 Royal Tree Pkwy, Naples

Played a couple rounds down here again on 10/24/13 and 10/25/13 and have noticed much improvement than the past year. I was told there is a new sup. and they are putting a lot more time, money, and effort into the course and it has already started to show. The fairways and tees were in great shape, but the biggest difference was in the greens and rough. They re-sodded a couple of greens and verticut and overall were rolling much much better than in the past. It looks like they have also replaced and worked on the patchy uneven lies and weeds in the rough. You can already tell the course is back on the right track. I played a couple of rounds from different tees and enjoyed each one. From the back, I tee, it is a real challenge and brings a lot of danger into play, especially on the back 9. The course plays completely different from the II tees, transforming into a shot-making course with distance control a priority. Apart from the golf it is also a great wildlife course, seeing a variety of birds, fish and turtles, as well as at least a half dozen gators and bald eagles! I’m now more excited to come back instead of it simply being convenient.

Garcia’s Mexican Food – Menu with Prices – 2540 Main St D, Chula Vista

Had to get my car smog checked and was starving for some good food. Found this on yelp and I’m so glad I did. It’s a diamond in the rough and so welcoming once inside, the lady owner was very enthusiastic and welcoming. I was going to order a carne Asada quesadilla but she even recommended me that they can accommodate me with a chorizo with potato quesadilla with a side of beans and rice. It was so delicious, the chorizo wasn’t over cooked and the potatoes weren’t stale, just perfect. My friend had a Chile relleno combo and brought up memories of his childhood in Chapultepec, had lots of flavor and was not spicy. Definitely will be stopping by again for my Mexican fix. TLDR: Service was great. Food was awesome and authentically home made like my grandma. Glad my smog check took longer then expected.

Monk’s Cove – Menu with Prices – 1104 St Gregory St, Cincinnati

If you are in the area searching for a bar to visit and you have come across this review know this: if you are not a fan of the rowdy drunk college scene, don’t come here after 9-10pm. However if you are looking for an open airy dive bar on a Sunday afternoon, GET HERE. Just use your noggin and know what you are getting into before you come. Why this place is hilarious — I was hosting an out of towner this weekend and we generally into cocktail bars, and cheese plates. However on a Saturday afternoon we were in the window where a lot of those fancy pants places were closed for lunch. It was a nice day so we decided to venture up to Mt. Adams and ended up at Monk’s where the rest of the night was history. After going to nearly 30 different places over the weekend we both agreed our time at Monk’s together was one of our favorite memories in our nearly 4 year long friendship. There were probably around 5-7 other people in the place with us on this sunny Easter weekend afternoon. We sat at the bar and were greeted right away. Having heard about their legendary jello shots we thought – when in Rome? (WE NEVER DO THIS) Three syringes later and the boomerang app and viola instant memories are made. They have standard jello shots for $1 or the larger syringe style shot for $3. They also have a shot wheel with specials and a beat the clock game which could really get you into trouble on a Saturday afternoon. Venture into the back for some free popcorn and table games, or find yourself a bar seat to people watch through the front open-air style window. This place can either be your worst nightmare or your best friend depending on the time you go which is the reason for the mixed reviews. For me, and the times I have visited, I have really enjoyed myself and Monk’s is quickly becoming one of my favorites which is something I never thought I would hear myself say. Pay them a visit this weekend!

Marco & Co Catering LLC – Menu with Prices – 525 S Staples St, Corpus Christi

Best Italian food I’ve had in ages!! I remember eating the cuisine often when I was in Naples, Italy and I don’t even remember it being this tasty. Chef Marco does an amazing job bringing the flavors of Italy to Corpus Christi and he does so in a way that does not empty your wallet. He and his staff are so friendly and welcoming as well. The building itself is a little out of place and may seem outdated but I think it gives it a little character- a diamond in the rough if you will. My only complaint (if you want to call it one) is their hours, they close daily at like 2 or 230 pm. I wish they had evening hours as it would be a perfect spot for evening meals. We currently have chosen Marco’s to cater my sisters wedding next week. I am excited to see how they do (I’m sure they will be exemplary)! P.s. I recommend the pasta bar, cannelloni, and the chicken Florentine.

Los Sierra’s Bar – Menu with Prices – 6762 Lowell Blvd, Denver

I love this little bar!?It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but inside several pool tables including some Diamond tables, room to dance, and karaoke. It’s owned by the nicest couple, who take great care of the place. It’s clean, nice, and the lighting is just perfect. I always have a good time! Absolutely well worth the stop!!

Machu Picchu Peruvian Grill – Menu with Prices – 7007 Bandera Rd, San Antonio

My son and I have tried to eat here three times, only to find it closed. The first two times were our fault. We hadn’t checked to see the hours, and showed up on a Monday when it was supposed to be closed. The second time, we planned to go for lunch. I made sure they were open that day, but didn’t pay attention to the times. Then we ended up switching to a dinner time meal. When we got there, we learned that it closed at 4:00 on Sundays. I know… My mistake. Today we covered all the bases. I checked and double checked to make sure it would be open when we arrived at 2:00 PM for lunch on a Tuesday. As we pulled up, we could see that it was dark inside. Then we saw the closed sign hanging in the window. I looked on the door to check the hours, and it should have been open today. Did it go out of business? I don’t know. Did they have a personal emergency that forced them to close down today? I don’t know. Will I give it a fourth attempt? I honestly just don’t know.

URBAN Creamery – Menu with Prices – 689 Central Ave, St. Petersburg

The dessert here is delicious! I tried the waffle with strawberries, nutella, & ice cream and it was great. I took off a couple stars for 2 reasons: 1) The first day we came here, the store was closed even though it was supposedly open according to their store hours on their door and website. There was no notice of why they were closed and if they would be back. Since we were in the area the next day, we decided to give it another shot and are glad we tried it. However, there could have been some kind of posting somewhere – either on their door, social media, etc. as to why they were closed during hours they advertise as open. 2) This one is minor, but there wasn’t too much of a selection on their menu. A lot of menu items had banana, and since I’m not a fan of bananas, that narrowed down a lot of options for me. Regardless, if you’re in the area, I still recommend trying this place!

Taâ??bogo Cafe/ Cincinnati Cars and Coffee – Menu with Prices – 2726 Riverside Dr, Cincinnati

Ta’Bogo Cafe is fabulous! It is located in the old “Fuel Coffee Supply” on Riverside Drive. Alex, the owner, has recently opened the shop, and the coffee is superb! I highly recommend his Dulce de Leche, hot or iced – both are delicious, and the prices are very, very reasonable for the very special, hand-made drinks a “made with extra love,” as Alex told me this morning. There are also fresh cupcakes, cookies, and a special “cake of the week”, all home-made. Alex has also expanded the hours of the former shop – Fuel Supply was only open in the mornings and closed in the early afternoon, but Ta’bogo is open from 7am-7pm Monday thru Friday (for anyone on the east side who might need a caffeine fix on their afternoon/evening commute from downtown!)

Massey Hill Grill – Menu with Prices – 1070 Southern Ave, Fayetteville

Brings back so many memories! All the way back to six grade. The connection between Massey Hill Grill, Massey Hill High School, the community, and so many friends holds a bond beyond words. A wonderful gathering place for old friends. I typically eat there a couple of times a week. Food is great, service is great, and I rarely go without seeing someone I know.

Zito Pizzeria and Grill – Menu with Prices – 3030 Healy Dr, Winston-Salem

Zito’s (I’m just a customer) To all those people that have complained about the hours of operation or the hours of operation on the door not being correct. Allow me to give you some background. Zito’s is family owned and I really do mean family. Dad, mum, brother and sister. The family had a tragic accident where they lost their father…..again the circumstances of his death was tragic (sort of stuff you see in a movie and cry). This incident shook the family and it took them sometime to grieve and reset themselves. The daughter has taken the restaurant over, made some changes and re-opened in honor of her late dad and family. It was during this time that the hours of operation were inconsistent. Now obviously not everyone new about this, which brings me to my second point. Ratings we give locally owned businesses….and I do mean locally owned. I have no issue anyone giving the big chain restaurants a bad rating for food quality, service etc. These big chains don’t rely on one specific location for their overall income. This is not the same for individually owned local businesses. Before giving a “forever” rating online that can “forever” damage a local business do them and yourself a favor and complain in person to the proprietor. I will assure you more often than not you will feel better and get a real solution for yourself, while allowing the local business owner to fix an issue and continue to grow their business. Having locally owned businesses in our community is so important to the success of our community. The money stays in our city and is invested back into our community. Support your local businesses or be happy with big chains and Walmart……it’s up to you.

Oklahoma City Swing Dance Club – Menu with Prices – 4361 NW 50th St #400, Oklahoma City

Diamond in the rough! What a great discovery! The management is friendly and informative, welcomed us to pop in And watch before deciding to join. Very reasonable prices compared to other formal dance lessons. well qualified instructors who are incredibly talented, yet easy to follow for beginners like myself. The schedule has lots of opportunities for practice and events, and the more experienced club members are so friendly and helpful, inviting beginners to practice which almost counts as another lesson. I was surprised by how modern the music was, and even though I was nervous and out of my element, I had so much fun! I would definitely recommend!
