From the moment you walk in you are greeted by welcoming staff… My first visit, so of course I checked out the decor- clean lines and elegant… loved it! The fresh (just out of the oven ) bread was a mistake… because I almost ate an entire loaf!!! As you broke and buttered each piece your mouth was already preparing for a party. The menu was so enticing that I couldn’t make up my mind. I told our server more or less what I had in mind… he took care of it!!!! My humongous shrimps were tender, sooo delicate! The pasta was just the perfect consistency. I would say the shrimp melted in my mouth but that would not give credit to each bite that I savored. The hubby ordered another shrimp dish wrapped in bacon (had some of that too)… can’t decide which I liked more… The portions were so large that the smaller servicing could have easily been shared. We were both celebrating our birthday and Pete (Matteo’s owner and ultimate host) said to leave that up to him… OH MY!!! I was surprised with a Napoleon (like none I had ever seen … now that truly melted in your mouth…) and a delightful rendition of Happy Birthday from the staff. In spite the fact I could barely move, I kept having “just one more bite!” I can’t wait to come back and bring the family! Five stars, two thumbs up!!!

Salt & Sweet Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 3092 Lake Washington Rd, Melbourne

Have driven by this cozy looking restaurant many, many times, but last Saturday enjoyed one of the best dinners I have had in many years of dining out. What a quaint and cozy, very clean and relaxing place. Very attentive wait staff who answer every question with great knowledge of the food and it’s origins. I noticed the table next to me was enjoying what looked like a sampler dinner. I asked “Pete and Kim” who were there for Pete’s birthday dinner about the food and excellent was putting it mildly. We had all three been up “north” and enjoyed polish food many times and many places and compared notes on some very enjoyable favorite places. Pete and Kim both recommended the sampler platter and they were so right about the word excellent. The starter was a delicious, full flavored Cabbage Soup that I didn’t want to waste any of. My sampler platter came a while after I finished the soup (perfectly timed) . The platter was very generous with pierogi’s , polish sausage, roasted potatoes and the best Cabbage Roll I have had since I was a kid on the far. The care and effort that goes into all the food is so evident and we, the diners get to enjoy fantastic meals. I got to see the piece of “Apple Cake” that Pete enjoyed as his birthday cake and shared with Kim. Next time I am saving room for dessert! Delicious food, lovingly prepared and served by great staff in a beautiful place. All for a very affordable price! I will be back OFTEN and would not hesitate to recommend Salt & Sweet to anyone. You can’t find food of this quality these days.

The Icey Girl & Co. – Menu with Prices – 7515 Whitesville Rd, Columbus

So I’m just mad because I walked there with my dog and asked for ice water for my dog even brought her her own bowl and I was charged $2. The ice melted when the water was added and he handed me a bowl of water and made me pay $2. For tap water and melted ice. I questioned the poor young guy working there, giving him a chance not to charge me $2 for melted ice but he said he had to. Now I’m just mad at me for giving in and paying for melted ice…. I didn’t mind paying the $5 for my ice with flavored sugar water but $2 for dog melted ice water is out of control.

The Cork 1794 – Menu with Prices – 900 W Erie Plaza Dr, Erie

My husband stumbled upon this place late night. We sat in the bar area and watched the NBA game while having a few appetizers. (Apps only after 9pm) The decor was very nice and the bartenders/ servers were very personable, especially Cory. The drinks were nice and balanced. Food: My husband had a Korean Bbq Sandwich and he said the flavors exploded in his mouth and his a nice kick of spice in it. He finished the whole thing so it apparently it was good, lol. We shared some Bang Bang Shrimp and Cornbread. The shrimp was pretty standard and definitely a hit for me, nice and saucy with spice you can taste. Now the cornbread was nothing like I’ve experienced before. It had a crispy shell, but soft and gritty in the middle. The honey butter was melted all over the top with a bacon l prepared topping. The butter had a hint of honey and really complements the dish. Oh, Did I mention there was the piano player playing classy music on the side of the bar? Score!! I enjoyed the staff in the bar area, the atmosphere and food. This is a pretty nice spot overall and I would return to check out the patio when it’s warmer outside.

Andretti Indoor Karting and Games Marietta – Menu with Prices – 1255 Roswell Rd, Marietta

We celebrated my daughters bday yesterday at this location and while everything was pretty standard (place is really cool and the amenities are the same whether you’re on your own or a bday party) I would like to leave a review for our party host Jacques. We have celebrated at least 16 birthday parties over the last 8 years within the Atlanta Metro area and without question Jacques made this one the best yet! His attention to detail, professionalism and personality made us feel like appreciated guests and taken care from the moment we walked in. He made this balloon for my daughter with the birthday song in music. He made sure we were taken care of and assured the health and safety of all the kids in the party the whole time. Not a single time we had to go looking for our host. The last 8 years we have suffered from wandering hosts that disappeared in the middle of the party for who knows what. Not yesterday. Jacques and Haley (our server at the restaurant) treated us phenomenally. We were so happy and satisfied it is hard not to give them 5 stars! If you want to be a good bday party host, take some hints from him! Thank you!

Pastry Lovers Choice – Menu with Prices – 370 Van Duzer St, Staten Island

This place is the ultimate spot for your Pastries!!! The owner is the sweetest lady ever. She helped me ACE my chemistry of cooking class project. I told her I planned on making cinnamon rolls she helped me with understanding the science..BTW the first time i had cinnamon rolls not from a can was here, I literally luxuriated in each bite and kept telling her OMG its soo good! My first time ever having a Macaroon I was upset with myself that i went 29years without experiencing this delicious treat. Brunch is a must also! Shrimp & Grits the best! I love visiting and doing school work there. #BlackOwnedBusiness

Pom Pom’s Teahouse & Sandwicheria, St. Pete – Menu with Prices – 2950 Central Ave, St. Petersburg

I absolutely adore Pom Pom’s. I’ve always loved the one in Orlando so I was stoked to stumble upon their St. Pete location! Pom Pom’s vibe fits in great with St. Pete and is a huge part of what makes it’s so great. Personally, I go for the sandwiches. While there are a couple classics on the menu, most of the sandwiches are their unique creations. There’s definitely an Asian vibe in a few of them as well. Mama Ling Ling’s Thanksgiving and Big Daddy’s Triple Decker are two of my favorites – but the whole menu is amazing. The portion of the sandwiches and sides are pretty big – you definitely won’t leave hungry! I’m also a fan of their tea selection. Iced or hot, unsweetened or sweet, you can’t go wrong. Besides the food being bomb, a huge thing that draws me to both locations is the atmosphere. It’s got that artsy and chill vibe. The staff is always super friendly. On my last visit, I got my food to go and the manager made sure to encourage me to refill my tea before I left. I appreciate the little gestures like that. Pom Pom’s is also LGBTQ+ friendly. They have both inside and outside seating. Parking is kinda limited, so if grabbing a bite with friends, I suggest car pooling.

Colleen’s Coffee Shop – Menu with Prices – 5755 Mountain Hawk Dr #101, Santa Rosa

This was my first time in Colleen’s. My favorite coffee drink is a mocha. Especially a “Mexican mocha”. The spices add a unique depth to the flavor of the coffee. I have had mochas everywhere I can, bakeries, bagel shops, Pete’s, Starbucks, any where coffee was sold. Most of the time the mocha offered wasn’t very good. I mean spooning Nestlé Quick into the coffee doesn’t qualify. Pete’s has been my favorite place for a regular mocha, semisweet chocolate and the right espresso, wonderful. That is until I tasted the Aztec Mocha at Colleen’s. That first sip was magic! So many things happening at once. The rich chocolate ‘melting’ in my mouth, the cinnamon bite was sharp and rich, and the sweetness completed the trifecta of coffee joy. The bread pudding muffin had to wait to be eaten. There was way too much bliss happening all at once.

The Cookie Cottage – Menu with Prices – 335 Gillespie Ave, Sarasota

If your looking for a place to get delicious cookies or creamy and flavorful cupcakes the cookie cottage. The cookie cottage is located at 335 Gillespie Ave in the historic an downtown village one block west of washington, right off fruitville. You will regret not going there for there savory cupcakes (all are $2.50) expecialy the chocolate chocolate , if your a chocolate person if not they have way more to offer. The owner Cathy is the sweetest woman you will meet and she will meet your every cupcake or cookie needs if your last minute and need to drop in and grad a dozen or two thats fine she can handle. She doesn’t just sell cookies she host birthday partys, it does not even have to be a birthday party you can just want to bring your children in and decorate cookies and cupcakes or their very own apron which I think is very cool and the children would love it. The prices are not too expensive its all worth it in the end when your kids walk out of there or you and your friend with giant frosting covered smiles on your face and a full stomach filled with mouth watering sugar. The cookies($0.50) are the best part they are not to hard and crunchy and are nice solft and warm makes you want to just take them all and gobble them all up, my favorite cupcake there is the chocolate chip cookie of course even though there are so much more you will have to go there and find your perfect cookie.

Tidewater Seafood – Menu with Prices – 7483 Tidewater Dr, Norfolk

First and last time visited 4/18/2018. I order the crab cake and shrimp platter $14.00 I asked the cashier if I could get the shrimp steamed. He proceeded to tell me you are not going to like it streamed. I gave him the “kermit the frog” look. How do you know what I am going to like. I said well don’t you put Obay seasoning or something on your steamed shrimp. His response I can do that if you would like. I said never mind let me leave it as is. The smell in the place had a horrible fish smell. I guess they don’t change the grease often. I had to wait outside while they prepared it because it penetrated my clothes in less than 5 minutes. Highly disappointed. Crab cake tasted like something but it wasn’t crab. I took one bite of it. The shrimp were ok fried really hard and small. French fries were covering everything. The fries were good. The hush puppies had no taste at all. Definitely not worth 14.00 Drive a little further for a better quality.

Peet’s Coffee – Menu with Prices – 625 8th St, San Francisco

On a brisk morning walk in my neighborhood I saw an attractive sign with a delicious looking artisan type of cappuccino, with a picture of the pattern with a heart…I often go to sightglass, ritual or blue bottle, and they provide a certain minimum standard I haven’t experienced lately at Pete’s. First, I was a bit surprised at the price: more than sightglass $4.55, but it’s worth it for a small glass of something superb. I’d pay double if it were doubly good. It was not. Most every time I’ve come to this new Pete’s on Brannan street, I order “for here”, then they give it to me in a paper cup with no nice pattern: the signature of a carefully made coffee drink. When I remind the barista that my order is “for here”, they pour the foamy, sugary contents into a big mug, and hand it to me. turmeric & ginger sounded like it could be as good as the misleading picture indicated, but it might as well be titled “frothy-spice-flavored-sugary-hot-beverage” for almost $5! I’ve been reminded about 10 times since this store opened why I should never visit a Pete’s again. Pete’s would be a better fit for a MALL next to MacDonalds, not in a neighborhood in San Francisco. Eventually I will learn why I cannot trust Pete’s to make a small, NOT a hot foamy sugary MUG, of standard Italian-quality cappuccino. A block away is the Grove, which is always a lot busier but worth the wait.

Pho Mi 888 Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 972 Hamilton Rd Unit 11, London

This place just opened. We went based on other Vietnamese people’s review that it was good. We were hoping that we’ve found a new fav spot. We were so disappointed because it was not good at all. In fact I will never go back or recommend anyone to go. The pho was not flavorful. The vermicelli bowl was supposed to have grilled shrimp and a spring roll. After pointing out to them that the items were missing, they brought out the spring roll and sugar cane with shrimp. So that was wrong but whatever. Then took a bite of the shrimp and immediately spat it out. It tasted wrong and the colour was wrong. When questioned about it they said that’s the colour it’s supposed to be. I’m sorry but when you cook shrimp it does not go yellow or smell like durian. There was no durian in the shrimp as confirmed by staff. The owner ended up taking a bite of the shrimp and he spat it out too. So they removed the dish from the bill, as they should. I didn’t even eat half the bowl because it just tasted bad. They don’t have any restaurant experience but good for them for taking the risk to start the business. Best wishes. Maybe they were having a bad day. We went on a Saturday afternoon.

Erling Jensen The Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 1044 S Yates Rd, Memphis

My husband surprised me with a birthday dinner at Erling Jenson’s. This was our first time to visit and I do not know why we waited so long. . . We were greeted with a smile from the valet and the host and were immediately seated. Our server greeted me with a Happy Birthday and a very in-depth knowledge of the menu. There is a 5 course wine flight menu or you can order off the full menu. I opted for the full menu and my husband chose the wine flight menu. We started with cocktails – I had a Pearfectly Pear with Thyme. It was a sparkling wine with pear juice, so refreshing to start the meal. I ordered the lobster pancake and Lamb Chops. I was very fortunate to live on an island and I know how lobster is supposed to be cooked and taste. l wish I had ordered 2 of these! Yes, they were that delicious! The lamb chops were amazing! Cooked to a perfect medium rare and melted in your mouth with a sweet potato mash, carrots and asparagus. . . My husband enjoyed all his courses – the scallops were wonderful, the lamb sausage and mushroom gnocchi were fabulous. The sirloin strips were very good but could not hold a candle to my lamb chops! LOl! My DH said the wine pairings were spot on and enjoyed all of them. Sharing and tasting all the wonderful food is encouraged. By the time we got to dessert we were stuffed but my husband shared his with me. His dessert was very eclectic consisting of a Lychee popsicle with kiwi pearl jelly and had a fun presentation with edible gold. Different but very delicious. . . Even though I did not order a dessert the server wanted to acknowledge my birthday and brought two very small triangles of chocolate pound cake with edible flowers and gold leaf with a candle. She was attentive and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the night!. . You know you are in a GREAT restaurant when everyone is enjoying the food so much that literally NO ONE was on their mobile phones!! Very unusual these days. I highly recommend this fantastic restaurant! Chef Jenson definitely knows his stuff!! We will definitely return!
