This hotel/resort is the spot to be! Ground are immaculate and large – not sure why this does not show as a #1 hotel in the area! The staff were phenomenal and accommodating. The Cove pool area was clean, enjoyable and staff SUPER attentive. Sadly, we were only there on evening, so we missed a good amount to do on the grounds. From arrival to departure, this property was one of the very best we have seen. This for sure, is on the top of out list. The staff is over the top professional, kind and attentive. The room we were kindly upgraded to, was fabulous. Spacious, great views etc. The pool area was so relaxing and the Cove staff also amazing. Our waitress at Charleys was so knowledgeable and fun. Giving us ideas on what to do for the evening – and on top of that the food was outrageous. Comfortable feeling throughout the hotel – safe and at ease. Well air conditioned in the very hot July Florida was having. Check In process was so pleasant, fast and easy. Met with smiles and chat about our trip in. Security and groundskeepers/janitors greeting us with good morning and good evening. All this positivity under 24 hours of stay. Sadly we had to wake early to catch a cab to Key West Express. Even that cab to the verry was booked happily by your staff for us. We rented car…the gentleman up at the front door was kind enough to move that car, as we checked in before we had to rent it. Kept it running and cool for us! Just a wow for that hotel and staff all around. They should ALL be recognized and we hope that they are!

Maingate Lakeside Resort – Menu with Prices – 7769 W Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy, Kissimmee

I was aware this wasn’t going to be a stay at a fancy, expensive hotel. I booked a cheaper place intentionally so we would have more money to spend at the parks, and because we purchased special event tickets for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. It was a birthday trip for my daughter. It was her first time in Florida and going to the parks. I will NOT stay here again. They overcharged by a couple hundred dollars and I was just told I’d get it back at check out. They also charged a deposit that I wasn’t told about before questioning the overcharge. There is a mini golf course at the hotel and it was disgusting. The holes were all filled with mud. The pool was okay, considering it was an outdoor one I wasn’t expecting pristine. There was a buffet breakfast that was decent, but not something I’d return for. The staff in the restaurant were very pleasant and patient. There were some less than stellar customers a couple of the days we were there and I felt they were handled well. Don’t get the “welcome package” when you check in. It’s just a ploy to get you to go to a timeshare sales pitch. I wasn’t given much information about it and stupidly agreed. We wasted a few hours there before we were able to leave. The “free area shuttle” was a huge pain to navigate. If you’re going to universal and using it you won’t get a whole lot of time there. It’s the last pick up in the morning and one of the first in the evening. Overall I was incredibly disappointed with this stay. Maybe if we’d only been staying there for a night or two it wouldn’t have bothered me so much, but it was a 5 night stay. I won’t be back.

The Hawthorne Inn & Conference Center – Menu with Prices – 420 High St SW #5037, Winston-Salem

Me & my family had been staying here periodically for a little over a year due to my daughter having to visit Wake Forest Baptist Hospital for her cleft palate needs. We never had any issues with this hotel. Staff was very friendly & accommodating. We had booked yet again another stay here at the hawthorn in August of 2018 & were extremely unsatisfied with our stay. After a 2 & 1/2 hour drive my husband and I were unaware that the owner/ staff had changed and upon arrival were told we could NOT book a room with a cash deposit (& credit card on file) had to be credit card only (which the previous owners NEVER had a problem with doing). After a 2 & 1/2 hour drive we then were told to go to our bank and put money on our debit cards (this was on a Sunday kind you). We then had to go to Walmart and purchase a money card to pay our hotel room. Which took us another 2 hours to set up. We should have been warned or notified that policies were changing by email, etc due to the fact of us being regular customers. Needless to say we were very annoyed & tired after our now 5+ hour trip of trying to get to our hotel room! Will never be staying here again.

Hyatt Place Eugene/Oakway Center – Menu with Prices – 333 Oakway Rd, Eugene

My husband and 3 of my daughters stayed here for 4 nights while visiting my parents. We stayed in a 2 queen bed room and it had a pullout. The whole place was very clean. From walking in, to our room, the pool area, the outside patio area were all very clean and taken care of. The free breakfast in the morning was excellent. They had eggs and potatoes every morning and then a meat that changed daily. They had fresh fruit that changed daily. A couple bread options. Parfaits and banana fosters also rotated different days. They had oatmeal every morning and a couple of cold cereal options. The pool area was super clean. They offer pool towels so you don’t need to take your room ones down. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. If we are in need of a hotel room to stay in while in Eugene again we will definitely book a room here again.

Holiday Inn Amarillo West Medical Center Menu with Prices 8231 W Amarillo Blvd West, Amarillo

We came into Amarillo for an overnight as my husband was doing radio work for the Salina Liberty while taking on the Amarillo Venom. This was the hotel that I booked, based on price and reviews, from Priceline. I have stayed in Holiday Inns (and Expresses) before and they always meet a particular standard. However, there wasn’t much met above this standard. I will say that the lady at check in was FANTASTIC—super friendly and made sure we were accommodated by getting us a roll away bed for our son to sleep on. This was even with an early check-in! However, beyond that, we were not overly impressed. There was a $10 parking fee for the hotel, which, with all the new construction and hotels over the area, didn’t surprise me that much. The room was just ‘average’ and didn’t impress much. The bed was VERY hard and uncomfortable for me. If you like a super firm bed? Then I guess it would be okay. The TV remote didn’t work well and made watching TV late that evening difficult. I was kind of disappointed with the pool area as well, as pictures seemed to show a different pool than what was actually there. The bathroom was also very small and, with the roll away bed in the room, the room itself felt cramped. The room and hotel overall seemed fairly clean and maintained. The location of the hotel was nice. Would I stay here again if I come to Amarillo? Probably not. If the bed was better, I would…but my body can’t take the aches that come from sleeping there.

Omni Corpus Christi Hotel – Menu with Prices – 900 N Shoreline Blvd, Corpus Christi

We have stayed here one other time and liked it so much we decided to stay here again for our weekend get-away! The hotel is located in a great spot, with easy parking and lots and lots of places you can walk to. The hotel has an indoor/outdoor pool where the indoor part is connected to the outdoor part with a passage way to go between. There is also a hot tub jacuzzi, but it is a little too hot for me. The pool is heated, which means you can swim all year round. Our heads were above the water outside and got a little cold since it was February, but even with that minor discomfort the swimming is a lot of fun! Our 8 year-old loves the pool and wants to spend the whole weekend in the pool! The workout area is top notch! We ate breakfast in the hotel breakfast area one morning, but were very surprised that we had to wait 25 minutes to be seated. We ordered the buffet and it was good but the long wait made it not a pleasant. There was also a big line at the waffle maker and omelet maker. It was surprising because the other time we stayed at this hotel it was quick and easy to eat at the breakfast area. I found the staff in that area were not friendly either, except once we sat down, then they kept asking us if everything was ok. It felt like they were only asking because they knew how long we had to wait. There were bunches of people who had to wait 25+ minutes. The food areas were not well stocked either, for the price, I expect everything to be full-to-overflowing. It was not a great breakfast but it was good. After that we did not eat there again, we ate outside the hotel at iHop or Shipley’s donuts. I think it would benefit guests if your breakfast policy and prices were more readily available because we were having to ask a lot of questions about what the breakfast situation was –was it included in the room or what are the hours, or what are the prices, etc. We had to ask by calling the front desk. I thought the room was great and the views were fabulous! I was sad you did not have the Hallmark channel, but the other offerings on the TV were good. The beds were comfortable but the pillow was not good. There is a refrigerator but no microwave in the room. I was very disappointed that there was no microwave, because I wanted popcorn in the room and to be able to heat up snacks. The room had a great oversized chair and ottoman, which were a little stained but comfortable. There were stains on the balcony floor which I did not like walking on with bare feet, but it wasn’t too bad. We had a great stay and plan to come back. This is a really great hotel and we highly recommend it.

The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club – Menu with Prices – 851 Gulf Shore Blvd N, Naples

Resort was beautiful We loved the layout and our room had a very nice balcony with a small live seat and additional chair overlooking pelican bay also perfect view of the sunset. The room was more spacious than a standard with 2 queen beds. It also has a small fridge. There is a $37 resort fee. It actually includes a lot. It included the lounge chairs for the beach and self parking If you do valet parking there is an additional fee. Pool area is also very pretty. The adult pool area is beautiful with nicer cabanas. The family pool area is also very nice with a small waterfall and slide into the pool. They have 4 cabanas available in the family pool area. We rented one for the day and it provided good coverage from the sun and great service. Fee is $150 for the day We never had a problem getting chairs by the pool which we were worried about since there was an event and a wedding during the weekend of our stay. Beach was beautiful. Great for young kids as there are no waves. You can bring your floaties and enjoy relaxing in the water. It does get deep so great for swimming The chairs are included with the resort fee but the umbrellas were $22 each. They also have cabanas for $28 and a luxury cabana with a bed and sun chairs for $200. There is a Greek restaurant where you can grab lunch and drinks while at the beach. The trolly that bring you to and from the beach was great. We never waited more than 10 minutes. We got there too late (11am) one morning to get a cabana but there were still plenty of chairs and umbrellas so no worries there. Food at the pool was pretty good. The kids also enjoyed ice cream and frozen virgin drinks. And the service at the hotel and pool was always friendly and attentive. Breakfast at the hotel is a bit pricey so we only ate breakfast there the first morning as we were anxious to get to the pool. $20 per person for their buffet which included eggs to order. Easy drive to a lot of great restaurants in the area. Naples Zoo ave shopping centers and movie theaters also l driving distance in case you have a rainy day Oh and lastly, the weather app showed thunder showered for all 6 days of our stay but it actually only rained the first two days. The rest of the days were beautiful clear sunny skies. Enjoy!!

Holiday Inn Fayetteville-I-95 South – Menu with Prices – 1944 Cedar Creek Rd, Fayetteville

I wish I could give it negative stars!!! Twice I booked a room in this hotel for our drive down to Florida from New Jersey, once on the way down and again on the way back, and both times we wound up staying at a different hotel. On the way down, the screwed up our reservation and tried to book me for 2 rooms instead of 1 room with 2 beds, and then 2 hours before my check in they let me know they do not have any availability at their location. I booked the room 3 months before! And now this time, we booked it the day of, and they took my credit card for the reservation and after 8 hours of driving with my husband and 11 year old daughter here from Florida, they would not rent us the room, because my license has my maiden name on it and my new credit card has my marriage name, even though the first name and middle initials are the same and the last name matches my husbands and he showed his ID. WE were simply told there was nothing they could do and that we would have to find somewhere else to stay! this is all happening at 8:30PM!! I have never been turned away from any holiday inn before, even using other family members cards with completely different names, and to be turn away at night over 500 miles from where you live with zero options or suggestions by the not so caring staff at the holiday Inn is unacceptable. I understand the Front Desk man was over worked, as he explained, the usual front desk person walked out on him last night and he has had to pull a double shift. I was very understanding as we had to stand there and wait for him to tell this tale of woe to another patron just checking in before he got to us, even after suck a long drive. All I ask is for a tiny bit of respect and caring as I showed, and instead I was told there was nothing they could do and sent away with my child. I WILL NEVER STAY AT ANY HOLIDAY INN AGAIN! I WOULD HAVE BEEN TREATED BETTER AT A HOMELESS SHELTER FOR FREE!

Hilton Garden Inn Colorado Springs Airport – Menu with Prices – 2035 Aerotech Dr, Colorado Springs

*Update to review* I had a very productive conversation with one of the mangers who has purview over customer relations. She addressed my concerns, as voiced below, and very politely apologized for the experience. Additionally, without making an excuse, she explained some of the circumstances that led to everything happening the way it did. I was and am very impressed with the response! Similarly, I am convinced that my experience at this hotel was a freak experience or the perfect storm. Knowing the caliber of management they have at this hotel and how they conduct business, I would stay at this hotel again. ________________________________________________________ My worst stay at a Hilton property yet! First and foremost, the property itself is very nice. The staff at the bar, in the kitchen, and the maid staff were extremely friendly and professional. The issue I had was with the front desk staff and their handling of select other guests that were staying at the hotel. During the first two nights of my stay, there was a junior softball tournament in town and a few of the teams were also staring at the Hilton Garden Inn by the airport. From the sounds of it, I had a couple of 12-year olds in the room directly above me. Between the running back and forth, jumping off the bed, and occasional loud yelling, it was difficult to get to sleep at night or stay awake in the morning. I contacted the front desk two different occasions and was told that a staff member would address the issue. Thankfully, most of the teams check-out out on Sunday morning. Sunday night I actually had a restful nights’ sleep without any loud noises coming from the upstairs room. Monday night I was not so fortunate… Monday afternoon/early evening an elderly man checked into the room next to mine. When I returned to the hotel after dinner the TV in the next room was blaring and the smell of cigarette smoke was strong in my room with had an adjoining door to the next room. Once again I contacted the front desk to raise their attention to the blaring TV and the person smoking cigarettes next door. It took 45 minutes to an hour before the TV was turned down. The next morning I had to fly out early. I was awakened by the loud TV once again, before my alarm, and the extremely strong smell of cigarettes once again. Thankfully I was checking out that morning. I brought the issue up again to the front desk attendant who nonchalantly said “I’m sorry about that” and proceeded to wish me a good day. Between the inability to handle the other guests and one employee saying that a Hilton hotel didn’t accept Hilton gift cards, I was left with the impression that the front desk staff were incompetent and unhelpful. From my previous stays at Hilton properties, I know this is the exception and not the rule. But I will not stay at this specific Hilton property ever again!

Caribbean Resort by the Ocean – Menu with Prices – 313 Hayes St, Hollywood

The Caribbean Resort by the Ocean is in a fantastic location, steps from the Broadwalk in Hollywood, and basically as close to the beach as you can get without being right on it. It’s super convenient and the tiki bar is a great place to hang out in the evening. It has live music and friendly bartenders. That’s where the vacation ended for us with the Caribbean “Resort” by the Ocean. The cost per night was about $250 with a $250 deposit so we were expecting something halfway decent for a small “mom and pop” near the beach. We were told there were rooms poolside and tiki side but that there were only tiki side rooms available so we took what we could. Room 115 reeked of mold and mildew when we entered and had DampRid buckets on top of the kitchen counters. We didn’t say anything to the staff at the time because we wanted to change and get onto the beach, and honestly, I’m not sure the smell hit us too hard at first. Later that evening, after dinner we headed back to the hotel (motel?) and the tiki bar was busy, there was very loud music. Our room was right off of the bar but we couldn’t hear it that much in the room. As we got ready for bed the smell started to get to us. We’re both in our 40s, and healthy but had we been older, a child, had some kind of immunodeficiency problem, asthma, or ill, we would have been in serious trouble – and good thing we weren’t staying there for long. It was difficult to sleep in there. We really could not spend much time in our room due to the odor. The next day it was pretty hot out and we wanted to swim in the pool. We put on our suits and went in search of it but couldn’t find it. We went into the office to ask where it was but we were told that the pool that had been mentioned when we booked our room, wasn’t accessible to our room (remember, we were on the tiki side, not the pool side) – the pool was for another hotel they manage next door. We were flabbergasted and felt like we’d be lied to about the amenities provided in the establishment. We didn’t argue the point and spent the day on the beach – pissed but whatever…. That night, unable to spend time in our room due to the odor, we approached the staff at the desk about the mold/mildew and got an “apology” that sounded like an “I don’t care”. After we spent a while explaining how bad it actually was, and how dangerous it was, we were switched to another room – next to the pool!!!! (PS TV in that room did not work) At this point, it was 10 pm and we had a 5 am flight so we went to bed. My advice is if you want to stay here, ask to see and smell your room before you plop down any money. Ask if you have access to the pool. Check the TVs and all appliances, showers, beds, everything in your room before you make a commitment). If you read through some of the low reviews, you will see that some other people say their TVs don’t work or their shower was broken, or they did not have access to the pool. Just check everything before you commit because they will charge you once they take your cc. As I said, the location is great, but things may not be as they seem.

Compass Cove ® Myrtle Beach Resort – Menu with Prices – 2311 S Ocean Blvd, Myrtle Beach

We enjoyed every minute of our stay. My husband and I stay for a week in the Pinnacle building room 660. I can’t speak for the other buildings but this one was clean, updated and convenient. I had read reviews before our trip but we did not experience anything negative. Check in was quick and even allowed us to check in early, thanks to Chris at the desk. (it may have helped that we arrived on a Friday) Our room was clean and the king bed was surprisingly very comfortable. Housekeeping came and inquired every day but Sunday. Trash was removed, toilet paper given, clean towels available and the requested blanket for the bed was received in a timely manner. Elevators (always working) and ice maker were right by our door and was a little worried about noise but it was never an issue. My husband was lucky every day once returning from playing golf and found a convenient parking spot adjacent to our building. I enjoyed the indoor pool, located in my same building each morning. It was always clean and towels seem to be replenished around 9:00 a.m. each day. Should we find ourselves coming back to Myrtle, we would definitely include Compass Cove in our choices.

Wild Horse Pass Hotel & Casino – Menu with Prices – 5040 Wild Horse Pass Blvd, Chandler

We had a south corner balcony suite, on the 2nd floor of the hotel (all the balcony rooms are on 2). It was very comfortable and convenient, as the gym and coffee shop were on the same level, and we could take the escalator or stairs down one level to the main lobby, restaurants, casino, etc. without waiting for elevators. The balcony overlooks the pool, and though it was very hot, it was nice to be able to step outside, and in the early morning or evening, it was pleasant to sit out there. One thing I did forget was the prevalence of crickets in this areaâ?¦saw one on the balcony, and a couple of them got inside. So, if you are phobic about critters, maybe select a room without a balcony.. . The suite itself was quite spacious. Thereâ??s a full kitchen, but oddly, not a single dish or utensil (what are all those cabinets for?). I suppose they might be available on request, but we ended up not using it so didnâ??t ask. There was a Keurig coffee maker. The bathroom had a huge long counter with dual sinks, and a toilet and shower room separated by a glass door. The shower had a handheld in addition to the rain shower head. However, no one thought to provide a soap dish or shelf â?? toiletries had to be placed on the floor, and we precariously balanced the bar of soap on the handheld shower bracket. Really annoying when they overlook small but essential details like that. The bed was comfortable, good lighting and plenty of bedside electrical outlets. Appreciated the plentiful drawer and closet space.. . The pool area was nice and uncrowded during our stay, particularly on weekdays. There are lots of umbrellas among the lounge chairs, and attentive service from the bar/restaurant. They play music at the pool and different music at the bar, loudly â?? so if you sit anywhere near that end of the pool, youâ??re listening to both of them compete, and they refuse to turn either one down/off. We moved to the other end of the pool, problem solved â?? but really, why?. . The onsite restaurants are decent, and they have gelato in the coffee shop. Valet parking was quick to retrieve our car and have it waiting by the time we got downstairs, air conditioning on, and offered us cold bottled water too.. . We were there for a concert; we didn’t gamble so can’t comment on the casino. There’s a small outlet mall just down the road, the hotel offers a free shuttle and it would be walkable if the weather is right. Other than that, there’s nothing in the immediate area.
