I really don’t know what to say about this place. We decided to try it for lunch. The service was extremely slow but it wasn’t the fault of the servers. The kitchen was backed up because of an amount of customers that I assume was unusual for them to handle. I watched as the cook took one ticket at a time off the spindle. Very generous portions and very fresh food but so slow that parts of the dish served died before it got to the table. I ordered the club sandwich which should be a very simple thing to put out. Donna ordered a Cobb salad which again should be simple. Even though it was more than 40 minutes before we got our food. We noted the servers standing at the window waiting for food with nothing else to do. The kitchen appeared to be completely overwhelmed. A table of 10 was served one person at a time. Their breakfast food looked delicious but because of the slowness they were not able to enjoy their meal together until I’m sure some of the food was cold. When I got my club sandwich it was served with fries but they were lukewarm and limp. The contents of the sandwich turkey and bacon were both very fresh and tasty. Donna’s Cobb salad was also very generous and included a whole avocado. We may try it again but for breakfast because I doubt we will be back for lunch.

Speggtacular Clearwater Beach – Menu with Prices – 770 S Gulfview Blvd, Clearwater

Had Cobb salad. While it was good it was definitely missing a traditional Cobb salad ingredient. Egg. No hard-boiled egg. It was more like a Chef/Cobb salad mix. It was a large salad with lettuce, red/green peppers, white onions, mixed cheese, tomatoes, bacon, ham, grilled chicken, and avocado. Now this isn’t normally what I would get here but we walked there, I was hot, and I really wanted something cold. Salad was cool. Bleu cheese dressing was also just cool. It was still good but not a Cobb salad I would recommend in the traditional sense. If you liked the combination I described then def try it. If not try one of their many other breakfast items. Those are def tasty.

The Urban Deli – Menu with Prices – 7111 S Virginia St Ste A5, Reno

If I could give zero stars, I would. The food was bad and the service was worse. I ordered the Cobb salad – I expected fresh greens, tomatoes, avacados, chicken, corn, etc. I got old bagged lettuce (they said they opened the bag this morning) – it was large (too large to eat) chunks of wilted romaine lettuce with dark green and brown spots – this was not even close to being fresh. The tomatoes were mealy, the avacados were brown, the chicken (tasted like ham) is cubed deli meat I could get at my local grocery, and the pre-cooked bacon was, well…pre-cooked. I figure at this point, the corn was out of a can. In no way was this a “fresh” salad. I did, however, get a nifty plastic fork reminiscent of my elementary school days – i.e., it’s a useless piece of plastic made to resemble a fork. My friend got a tuna sandwich which had a dab of tuna salad. A young man came out and asked how our food was, we told him the truth. He explained that the tuna sandwich was supposed to have 4 oz of tuna salad, and after checking in the back, acknowledged that they didn’t give my friend enough tuna salad. She was offered 2 “coupons” for a free soda with purchase of another meal at another time. So, I figure that’s about $20 for a sandwich and a half and a soda. Such a deal…..for them. He asked me if I’d like a sandwich instead. I said no, I didn’t want a sandwich and I didn’t want the salad. He took it and went to the back. Several minutes later, a woman came out and informed me that she “made” me a new salad with all fresh ingredients. She stated that she opened a new bag of lettuce, cut up some new tomatoes, cut up some chicken, cut up some avacados, gave me fresh corn….so now the salad was fresh. She asked me why I didn’t like the salad. I told her I didn’t like it because nothing on it was fresh. She argued that I didn’t like it for other reasons. A Cobb salad is a Cobb salad – the flavors are fine, it was the freshness (or lack thereof) of this one. She insisted she had new “fresh” ingredients in the salad she prepared for me. I told her I didn’t want it as I wasn’t confident it would be edible. She again argued with me about why I didn’t like her salad. I couldn’t get her to understand that the lack of freshness was the problem (and at this point, her attitude). Cutting up a “new” bag of lettuce isn’t fresh. When talking about the avocado, she got very defensive and told me that avacados get brown, but they’re still good and you can eat them. Yeah, they get brown when they sit in your refrigerator cut up waiting for someone to order a fresh salad…sheesh. I was also offered 2 “coupons” for a free soda with purchase of another meal at another time. Um….no thank you. We left those generous coupons on the table. Total waste of money and time – I’m out about $11 and no lunch! I suggest if you want a sandwich or salad, you should go elsewhere – this is just store-bought ingredients, cut up and put in a container. This was the first response by the owner via messaging and not as a response for Yelp viewers to review: Mrs. R. Hi S.G, We truly tried everything to make you happy and it seemed like you simply didn’t want a salad. When you said you felt the first one wasn’t fresh, I personally made a FRESH salad to ensure you were happy. However, when I brought it out to you, you said you didn’t want the salad. I didn’t charge you for remade salad hoping it would make things better. I’m sorry, you didn’t have a better experience. Hopefully, you will give us another try. Maybe next time try one of our delicious sandwiches instead. My response to that: 8/9/2019, 1:53 PM I DID want a salad. The pre-made one you gave me WASN’T fresh. You then personally assembled a 2nd salad. You didn’t charge me for the 2nd salad,

Adrian’s Cafe – Menu with Prices – 11120 Antioch Rd, Overland Park

Adrian’s is a diner without any thrills or frills, but I’ll tell you what, they get the job DONE! They do sandwiches like French dips, turkey clubs, BLTs, tuna salad, egg salad, etc. All your favorite deli type staples. They offer salads, soups, chips, homemade sweets, pickles, and soft drinks including tea. Great place for lunch as they do a lunch special. When you enter, you get in line and give them your order kind of like what you would do at a subway. I ordered a turkey club and I got my choice of break and cheese, and then they asked what toppings. It through me off a bit because I couldn’t actually see what they had, but since I ordered a club I just got your typical club things. They hand you your sandwich and you move through the line to pay. Now, I am NOT exaggerating when I say this is the best turkey club I’ve ever had. The bread is just out of this world. It looks thick, but fear not, it’s so light and fluffy it doesn’t over power the sandwich at all. They started with a hunk of fresh cooked turkey, and warm CRISPY bacon, then your other standard club items. It was delicious. I’d you’re looking for a quick, satiating bite to eat in a laid back environment (some booths, tables, seat yourself-after-you-pay-style) definitely give Adrian’s a go! I can’t wait to go back to try their other sandwiches!

Nick’s on Broadway – Menu with Prices – 287 Broadway, Winnipeg

Value wise, I think Nick’s on Broadway gives you the best bang for your buck relative to the two other sandwich shops in the city (King + Bannatyne and Sherbrook Street Deli). For $8 you can get a hot pastrami sandwich served with hot mustard and city bread rye with a pickle and coleslaw. My fave is their red star reuben ($11) pastrami, russian dressing, sauerkraut, swiss cheese on city bread rye; this sandwich is done panini style so a little different from the classic reuben but very good. They have lots of side/full orders of salads and soups for $2.5/$4. The house salad – mixed greens, apple, feta and cheese – even a side order felt fairly generous for the price. This was a great light salad to balance off the heavier meat sandwich. The salt potatoes – baby potatoes, kosher salt, garlic butter and parmesan was served whole and probably would have tasted better if the baby potatoes were cut up more so the garlic butter and parmesan can coat more of the potato. Nice breakfast/lunch place on the corner of smith and broadway in a newly renovated location. The space is very angular and doesn’t offer a ton of seating; it’s not the most comfortable space but it’s really a place for a quick breakfast/lunch. You order and pay first and then pick up your order so no table service. Everything is served in disposable boxes so it has a bit of a food court feel. It’s open Mon-Sat 8:00AM-3:30PM.

Johnny’s Bagels & Deli Menu with Prices 26 N 6th St Ste 170, Allentown

Food was very good, fresh, and plentiful! The food and prices alone deserved 5 stars! Varied menu is offered. The reason for the 3 star rating was that they were somewhat disorganized behind the counter. Waited to order for over 5 minutes while standing right at the order counter and being the first one in line at that time, mind you….. The sandwich maker, though he does a great job and presentation is lovely, he is not aware of the customer’s time limits while on lunch hour. I watched him start to assemble the club sandwich long after my co-worker was served her food….yes served. Then, once he was done, he began to straighten containers on the work station and cut other sandwiches, while mine sat there. He started to talk to another co-worker, then I made my move. (OK…I was miffed.) I had to walk up there and while commending him on making such a lovely sandwich, I told him that my co-worker was almost done with her lunch and to hand me the sandwich. He seemed surprised…..really? Waiting over 20 minutes from the time my co-worker was served, to make a club sandwich…..well, all I can say is thankfully, it was worth the wait, albeit a long one.

Q Haute Cuisine – Menu with Prices – 100 La Caille Pl SW, Calgary

This was our final stop for lunch before leaving Calgary to head back home. We made reservations ahead of time on opentable to celebrate my birthday with a pretty amazing 3 course lunch. It’s a prix fixe for $25 CAD. If you opt out of dessert, it’s $20 CAD. Can’t beat these prices for the quality of food you receive. You’ve got quite a few choices for each category. For our first one, we chose the simple salad served with beets and also potato salad. The simple salad was dressed and seasoned well, generous with beets. We had a small issue with the salad but it was easily replaced with many apologies. They rectified the situation immediately and I appreciated their concern and how they handled everything. Kudos to the people who work there. The potato salad was also delicious and seasoned well. Loved the contrast of potatoes and crispy toppings. For our second dish, I went with the braised brisket served with carrots. We also had the pork belly. Both entrees were fantastic and extremely flavorful. Lots of beautiful touches and very pleasing to the palate. Amazing. For dessert, I had the cheesecake which was served with a candle. We also had the ice cream sandwich. Although both were great, I was mostly blown away by the entrees. Service was fantastic. Had a house martini to go with my meal while G had a glass of wine. Cute spot. Extremely clean. Limited parking spots in the lot so your best bet is on the street. Even with a snafu, loved my experience here and would return in a heartbeat.

BBQ Factory Steakhouse Menu with Prices 4215 Rosedale Hwy, Bakersfield

As you can tell from my rating, I wasn’t impressed. The new and renovated look seemed to lack the old location and old BBQ vibe. They added the word “Steakhouse” to their name, with that came a hole new look. When you first walk in, it doesn’t resemble anything like a BBQ place or really a “Steakhouse” for that matter. There are no windows except for where the bar use to be from the prior restuarant (Cactus Valley). The decor felt more like a banquet hall for a wedding reception. Nothing on the walls told you about the restaurant or about the food that was being served. We were seated and my boyfriend sat on a beverage tray. The lunch menu didn’t have a children’s menu and some of the items seemed pricey $14.95 for a Cobb salad and $7.95 for onion rings. The waiters were dressed nicely, even sporting a tie and his wireless earphones. He brought over a plastic bread basket with a few hard pieces of bread. We ordered our food after contemplating if we should stay or not. It took a little while for our food to arrive and once it did, we weren’t very pleased. We ordered the baby back rib and tri tip combo $18.95 The food was served on some nice white dishes, but our food seemed like it was out of place. I mean, it’s bbq food, with bbq you expect to get your fingers dirty, here the bbq sauce looked like it was an accessory instead of part of the meal. It wasn’t even 1/2 a slab of ribs, we got 4 ribs and 3 pieces of tri tip. The potato salad tasted like they made it with too much relish and usually placed will pile up the fries because they are inexpensive but not here. The tri tip sandwich looked like it was the stuck up cousin to a real bbq tri tip sandwich or wanted to be a tri tip sandwich when it grew up. By the way, we never got the side salad that was ordered with it. We weren’t given folks, we had to take them from another table, nor where we weren’t given napkins, we took them from another table. The food was so much better when it was Fred’s BBQ Factory, the small little place across the street. The ribs were dry and cold with a little slap of bbq sauce We should have stuck with our gut and left instead of paying for food that was below what it use to be. When leaving the restaurant, we almost hit a couple in the face with the door because again, there are no windows so we couldn’t see them on the other side. In my personal opinion, the new name and the decor are misleading. The lunch menu speaks bbq, the plastic bread basket says bbq but the dishes and decor, not so much. I think they are missing the mark with the upgrades.

Shenanigans Pub & Grill – Menu with Prices – 108, 550 Clareview Rd NW, Edmonton

Nice little pub. You can tell it is frequented by regulars. It was noon on a Saturday and all the pool tables were full, the bar stools had people at them and the patrons and servers knew each others names. If you are looking for a pub in this area I think this would work for you. Now I’m not a pub guy. I came for one reason and one alone: the steak and eggs special ($7). I don’t drink so I had a pop ($2) instead. For the price meal was good. The eggs were as ordered. The steak was just about right. The hashbrowns were nothing to write home about and the toast was thick Texas cut. About what I expected, perhaps a little underwhelmed by the hashbrowns. The servers were nice but service overall was slow. Perhaps more the kitchen than the servers. Not sure. By the time I got there everyone that was there had been served. I came in, sat and waited. I ordered my pop and waited. I got the pop and waited even though I was ready and my menu was clearly closed. She left before I could order. By this time a group of three came in and sat nearby. I assumed she would take my order and theirs on the next pass through. Nope. She took theirs first then came back later to get mine. Then I read and waited. Later when I looked up from what I was reading I noticed the table of three had their food already. Yes their order went in just before mine but I ordered the daily special! It shouldn’t have taken that long. It was well over an hour, almost an hour and a half before I felt. I got up and paid at the bar. I didn’t wait around for the cheque.

Michele’s Cafe – Menu with Prices – 1373 Clinton St, Buffalo

Great little diner, clean, homey retro vibe, reasonablely priced, servers were on point, Michele the owner was on the grill cooking & directing! We ordered breakfast, portions were hearty – french toast, bacon, eggs, grits, breakfast sandwich, real homefries, coffee – all served hot and fresh with a smile. They even have chicken & waffles (next time). They have a small “bake shop” that rumor has it is a lil slice of heaven, wasn’t available this am but one of the items is grilled pound cake! Lunch specials include Meatloaf sandwich, subs, Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich, soups – can’t wait to get back and try some lunch eats! My only criticism was the maple syrup, for some reason it was ice cold & chilled the french toast, I even tried pouring it on the plate first to get to room temp but I’d already covered most of the french toast with the cold syrup – kind of disappointing as it actually made the french toast cold, french toast had good flavor though, I’ll just check the syrup bottle next time, ask to have it microwaved or something .. lol. We will be going back!

The Salad Place & Rotisserie – Menu with Prices – 5392 Mission St, San Francisco

So I love me some sandwiches! Like a true, hearty, fresh sandwich. There are not many places is the city that wow me in this space (sadly). That was until I found this gem! So I stumbled upon it when I had an intense sandwich craving. I ended up in the mission and was searching online for possibilities. This caught my eye and had an incredible menu (beyond extensive) so I gave it a shot! I can’t begin to express how impressed i was. Not only was the bread, cheese, meat, veggies all fresh and delightful, but the salad options blew my mind. Everything is made fresh daily, and you can taste it! Egg salad, crab salad, pasta salad, broccoli salad… it was a salad extravaganza. I ordered a panini and a veggie sandwich. The panini was a meal for 2 for sure, and the bread was so light and fresh. Plus I was able to save half for the next day (It was equally as amazing). The veggie sandwich was divine. The dutch crunch was some of the beet I’ve found, the veggies were perfect and crisp as well as generous portion size. I ended up ordering pasta salad as well just because the multitude of options were so enticing. And like the sandwiches, they definitely delivered a whole lot of deliciousness! They have sandwiches, paninis, wraps, coffees, breakfast sandwiches and side options, as well as a ton of healthy salad offerings. And to top it off there were the sweetest little ladies keeping everything going that made the visit even more enjoyable. Do yourself a favor… go! Even if it’s a trek, it’s totally worth the venture and your taste buds will thank you!

PureBread Deli – Menu with Prices – 4801 Limestone Rd, Wilmington

Love this place for a quick , fresh lunch that wont have you ready for a nap. Yummy ingredients. The ability to create your own sandwich which for a foodie like me is a BIG deal. Mix and match different sandwiches to make something that is truly your own. My go to is lettuce, cheese, bacon, mayo and avocado on focaccia bread. I have just started trying their salad menu starting with the spinach salad and am only disappointed it took me so long to try one (I was just so hung up on the diy sandwich thing). They also do a good breakfast sandwich / wrap. Even their coffee and baked good are awesome (especially the pound cake muffin aka cake for breakfast!). Very well rounded establishment plus cute puppies on the wall !

Fresa Bistro – Menu with Prices – 15 N 3rd St, Harrisburg

Overview: Nice little lunch stop for massive salads, sandwiches, or soup. Food: I have eaten at Fresa many times now and have always been very happy with my meal. I particularly love their salads. The Forestiere is a particular favorite, as the roasted veggies and parmesan cheese is an excellent combination. I also really love the Cobb salad, which is nice and filling. Fresa offers several dressings but my favorite is the pesto vinaigrette. If you love pesto–get this. It’s fantastic! I’ve also enjoyed some of their soups. The mushroom soup is a daily feature and very good! I also recently had their chicken pot pie, which although having a good flavor, had huge lumps of uncooked roux which I kept having the misfortune of biting into. I also feel it’s a bit pricey for the portion size. Lastly, I have to mention how much I love their water! It’s infused with cucumbers, strawberries, and lemons and is soooo refreshing. Recommend: Mushroom Bisque Forestiere Salad Cobb Salad Atmosphere: This place is BUSY. Whenever I know I’m going to get Fresa for lunch, I try to get there early as there is always a line. It moves decently, but definitely prepare to wait if you go during lunch time. Otherwise the restaurant has a decent number of tables that are always kept clean. Service: Service here has always been good! Even though pretty much always exceedingly busy, I have always been served with kindness and smiles.
