Brief stop in Gainsville resulted in visiting Wyatt’s! The Coffee Mayday Affogato made vanilla ice Cream with espresso was spot on. Venti Vanilla Latte was definitely driven by the great coffee. There are great pastries available. The Guava Croissant was to die for. Loved the cool ambiance vibe . Obvi that Mai Kai was loaded with students on laptops. Loved the social environment! I’ll have to remember this caffeine pit stop!

Turks Coffee Bar – Menu with Prices – 1276 Commercial Dr, Vancouver

Cute little coffee shop on The Drive with yummy coffee and a patio perfect for people-watching. My friend and I stopped in here after brunch to grab some lattes to go. For me a vanilla almond milk latte and for my pal a regular vanilla latte. I loved my little caffeine fix. I’m not sure if it was the coffee itself, the vanilla, or the almond milk, but whatever those baristas did, I really, really enjoyed my latte. Seems like a great place to hang out and catch up with a friend or post up and get some work done. It’s quite small in here, so I can imagine that it would get full quickly, especially on a warm, sunny day. Overall, yummy coffee, friendly baristas, and cute decor from other local businesses. While there are plenty of coffee shops on The Drive, this one will definitely be one of my top ones to visit and recommend.

presso coffee kitchen – Menu with Prices – 13011 NE Fourth Plain Blvd Suite 106, Vancouver

I love checking out new spots especially in the Vancouver area. What really initially intrigued me was the decor and coffee art that I saw in the pictures. Nothing gets a girl like flowers and aesthetics right? I love coffee and I love myself a good cup of caffeine while indulging in my daily reads. Today was a Vanilla Rose Latte and “The Milkman” read. I went in with the sole purpose of coffee and reading so I wasn’t swayed by the food they offered. I mean, if I wasn’t too stuck up into my routine I’d probably in a heart beat order one of them avocado toasts and totally have it up my social media. Right right? My coffee took a while to make as there was quite a few orders ahead of me and only one barista/machine. My latte finally arrives and its presentation does not disappoint as it looked exactly as how I’ve seen it in posts. It was so pretty and so fitting for the beginning of spring. Fast forward to the taste, I wasn’t much of a fan. It lacked the intense flavor I expected it to have. Not really much of vanilla and a really really subtle hint of rose. It just wasn’t enough umph and barely any of that rich coffee smell that I would have loved. On top of that, my cup was kinda just luke warm and mind you that I did take my pictures fairly fast so it wasn’t like I left it sitting out. Overall, I like the atmosphere of the place, but my first impression of the vanilla rose fell short. I would love to come try them again, but I don’t know if I can justify coming back for an almost $6 12oz cup of okay coffee. However, I may just order a cold brew instead.

11th Hour Tea and Coffee Bar Menu with Prices 833 N State St, Bellingham

Wow! Like most of us, I drink plenty of coffee. It was suggested I check this place out and was super impressed. As soon as I walked up to the storefront and saw the cool sign and the outside seating I was intrigued. The whole place has a great vibe, then you walk through the door and the great tea smell hits you. I checked out the various tea “flavors”… Again, Wow! You can get lots of great tea at various places, but the selection here has a wonderful selection of teas I’ve never seen anywhere else. If you are a real tea person and haven’t been here yet, you are missing out… You gotta head down there and check out the selection. But I wasn’t here for tea, I came for the “vanilla latte better than any you have ever had”… See, vanilla latte is my jam, I love them. I was not disappointed. Stumptown coffee, which I’ve heard about but not had until now, as the coffee. But the flavor did not appear to be the ubiquitous flavor brands you typically see… Whether it was the coffee, the milk, the flavor, or the great vibe the place has… This was truly the best vanilla latte I have ever had. As a side, I was able to try one of my table mates green tea latte with matcha… I was hesitant… Largely because I thought it smelled like hay, but I was undeterred in trying something new. Again, wow!!! I have actually tasted hay, and the matcha did NOT taste like hay. It mixed in great to make it a drink worth having on occasional breaks from my first love – the vanilla latte. I also got to try a Mochi muffin. Yum! Check this place out. You won’t be disappointed.

Kahwa Coffee – Menu with Prices – 701 6th St S, St. Petersburg

I’ll give this tiny coffee bar at the hospital a 5/5 because it’s convenient, the coffee is good, the barista is nice, and the caffeine in their coffee does the job. +3 stars- yummy coffee. Their coffee is not the best that I have had but it is delicious and it is good. It does not have any after taste and it is smooth. They also have daily offers and happy hour. I don’t remember what exactly it was but I remember 50% off pastries after 3pm. +1 star – convenient for me because we spend a lot of our time at the hospital and it is easy to just go to this location and have a yummy hot cup of coffee to get through the 12 hour shift and the cold hospital environment. If you are at Bayfront and you need some coffee, definitely come here! +1 star – nice barista. The barista who works here is nice. She does her best to accommodate us even if she is working by herself. She also let us know that there is 10% off with a USF ID so if you have a USF ID don’t forget to avail this offer. LOCATION: it is inside the West Entrance of Bayfront. You can park in their parking garages or the 2 hour curb parking. Overall, they have good and yummy coffee. I suggest that you try their coffee.

Sunergos Coffee – Menu with Prices – 1647 Norris Pl, Louisville

My first time at Sunergos Coffee! After a relaxing yoga session an iced coffee sounded great. I wasn’t sure what to expect for parking but Sunergos has a small parking lot and the street offered much more. The shop had its garbage doors opened to show everyone sitting inside. A few tables and chairs offered a 70’s vibe and picnic tables sat next to the building to provide more seating. I also noticed a high top ledge next to the door where a gentleman stood working on his laptop. The staff was very friendly and took my order right away. I waited only a few minutes to get my iced latte. One shot of vanilla was included at no charge. With tip, the large was slightly under $6. Overall it was okay. It didn’t have a strong coffee or vanilla flavor which made it “meh” compared to other coffee shops. I drink coffee for the flavor as much as the caffeine punch so if I revisit I would try another drink. Sunergos has a great vibe from the open doors to the music and vintage furniture. I enjoyed cracking open a book and browsing my phone. This would be a decent spot to sit with a friend but the tables are fairly close so don’t come and expect privacy. Besides the drink menu they offer a small menu of food. This is also a dog friendly shop with dog bones on the counter.

1418 Coffeehouse – Menu with Prices – 1418 K Ave, Plano

So I decided to stop drinking Starbucks for a bit and start going to local coffee shops here in Plano. We have so many it’s hard to choose one. Since I was near downtown I decided to check this place out based on the reviews and it didn’t disappoint. I’m pretty picky when it comes to coffee so it’s always a risk trying some place new. They are a cute little shop with plenty of seating and people were there early on a Sunday (9ish) working away on their laptops and enjoying coffee with their friends. The inside has a lot of plush couches and chairs and of course they offer WiFi. I immediately went to the counter and was greeted right away by two smiling faces! I asked them for their best drink and they directed me to The Purple Haze. It’s a Lavender and Vanilla Latte and I love sweet drinks so I ordered it. Y’all! I can totally see why it’s their most popular. It was like sitting in a field of lavender on a spring day. The wind blowing your hair back (I don’t have much but it’s a fantasy so let me enjoy it) and there is a sweet scent of Vanilla in the air. It was sooooo refreshing! Definitely on the sweeter end (I like sweet) so be forewarned. They have plenty of sandwiches and pastries for those in need of substance to pick from. I highly recommend checking this place out.

Restoration Cafe – Menu with Prices – 38 N Fort Harrison Ave, Clearwater

This is a pleasant little coffee shop that is affiliated with Clearwater’s Restoration Church. There is little religious imagery and the vibe is similar to many small town coffee shops I’ve been to. The atmosphere is relaxed, appropriate for families, and not at all hipster. There were the usual folks on laptops at tables you’d expect from an independent coffee shop. The drip Kenya we had was excellent and sourced from Hemisphere Coffee Roasters out of Ohio. The barista was very knowledgeable about the coffee, the sourcing, and made a fresh pot just for my friend and me. The only note to consider is that there wasn’t any food available. Other than that, this is a place I can easily recommend for a quality cup o’ Joe.

18th Street Coffee House – Menu with Prices – 1725 Broadway, Santa Monica

I LOVED this coffee house and can’t wait to come back. I came here on disappointing circumstances the other day, but felt at ease and comfortable which is all I could ask for. My boyfriend and I stopped in for a latte while waiting to get results back for our baby (dog) who we had to put down . We spent about 40 minutes here in the back patio area and I couldn’t have asked for a better environment. The cashier is a funny, quirky Russian dude who’s very patient (considering some of the characters that came in). I love the decor and ambiance here. It’s very 30s/40s kitsche with black and white hexagon tile floors and Pulp Fiction postcards for sale. It’s the kind of place where the only people working on their laptops are 100% writers. That’s it. Lots of tables and seats, very room, not a typical stuffy or “cozy” spot. The outdoor patio is secluded from the main road it is on with also plenty of seating, vine-y foliage, and dog friendly. The almond milk lattes were spot on. Creamy, perfect ratio, and robust tasting espresso. Will totally come back to work here.

Division Brewing Menu with Prices 506 E Main St, Arlington

Division Brewing has a lot of character. Upon entry there is a couple of cool hot rod cars and a sweet van that happens to be one of their logos on their shirts. A friend and I walked into check it out for the first time. The staff, the brew masters and owners were there and were happy to help us. We took in the facility and the over all ambiance was vibrant, smelt great and was intimate. Full of games, donkey box, darts and various board games. There is a cool outdoor area that had a smokehouse BBQ truck in at the time and offered a bright outdoor environment. This facility also has a cool comic book, vinyl and memorabilia store that butts up to the patio area. You can peruse comics and vinyls with a beer. We didn’t get to witness the acoustics of this venue but there was also a cool music venue that was inside of the comic book store. We were told that it is an outlet for local, mainly, punk bands to show their stuff. I will definitely have to check it out another time. Enough with the ambiance and the venue. On to Division Brewing’s beers, they have a very eclectic menu that has a wide array of options. I enjoyed a Grind and Press that was at a ‘steep’ 10.5 abv. This was an excellent beer. Great notes of Cocoa, Vanilla that had a bitter sweet taste with a lasting coffee finish. The beer is brewed with Urban Alchemy Cold Brew Coffee. I will for sure be checking out that coffee shop as well. This was by far my favorite beer. I enjoyed a few others that were all excellent as well. Those that I had included Smokes, the smoked ale. You can really smell and taste the smoke flavor. Well done! The Black “I”, the black IPA and this one packed a punch, it had a lighter body but you could definitely get the taste of the toasted barley and it had a resounding floral aroma with a sweet bitter bite. All great beers and I recommend Division Brewing! Go check Division Brewing out, you will not be disappointed. Say hi to Sean and Wade they are extremely knowledgeable and all the staff is as well. Coffee Science – Menu with Prices – 410 S Broad Ave, New Orleans

Coffee Science is a super great local spot! It’s open until 7pm every day which is nice when you need some caffeine later in the day but want something smaller than Starbucks with cool brews. They’ve got so many different types of coffee, you can choose which beans you want and the style- pour over, french press, aeropress, you name it, they’ve got it! It’s nice to be able to try a coffee bean with the way you would make it at home before you buy a bag of it, which is one of my favorite parts of Coffee Science. Plus, all the employees are super personable and knowledgeable about coffee and all their products and are more than happy to answer your questions, but not in a snobby way at all. It’s a great place to stop by and do work- plenty of outlets, grab a drink to go, or stay for a bit outside on the covered porch or in the back yard at one of the picnic tables. Only qualm is that parking isn’t always super easy to come by. As far as actual coffee goes, love their espresso (I do wish it was served with sparkling water instead of still), they’ve got a ton of fun beans to try that rotate, and they’re always happy to suggest a cup if you’re not sure of what you’re feeling.

De Fer Coffee & Tea – Menu with Prices – 2002 Smallman St, Pittsburgh

Does anyone know the spell from Harry Potter where I can place this coffee shop in my pocket and bring it back to New Orleans? I’m willing to pay in Vanilla Rose Iced Lattes from De Fer because I’m so sad I’m leaving this place with y’all in Pittsburgh. Let me be selfish and show her how much she’d be loved by locals in New Orleans. The ambiance is so pretty here and the love for local artists is beyond. I can’t get over how beautiful this coffee shop was with all of the exposed brick and open space. This place impressed me so much that I visited this place twice within a three day trip. I’M OBSESSED. That Vanilla Rose Iced Latte has forever changed the game and they offer oat milk. She keeps getting better and better. The staff here is so welcoming and I never wanted to leave. The assortment of plants made it feel so warm. Damn you Rachel C for showing me this place. I’ll never be able to get De Fer outta my mind.
