Had a wonderful dinner here last night to celebrate back to school, and my daughter’s and my nephew’s birthdays. Six of us ordered 1 appetizer (gyoza), 8 rolls, and 1 shrimp fried rice. We were stuffed but had to get dessert to celebrate the birthdays. We ordered a vanilla tempura ice cream and a green tea tempura ice cream. However, we got 2 free lava cakes with candles for the birthday people, complete with dimmed lights, happy birthday on the sound system and singing by the entire restaurant! It was so much fun!! For the rolls, we ordered: Yummy x 2 Black dragon Volcano Jasmine Wildcat Pacific fried roll I can’t remember the name of the last roll but they were all really good. I would definitely order the Black dragon, the Jasmine and the Pacific fried rolls again but my daughter said the Volcano was her favorite! Despite it being a Saturday night on a back-to-school weekend, we immediately got a table at around 7 pm. We were completely finished by around 8:15 pm. I highly recommend this restaurant! Both the service and the food were amazing!!

Wasabi Factory – Menu with Prices – 7415 Hardeson Rd #A, Everett

I used to frequent Wasabi factory when I was living at home a few years ago. Now I wanted to go back and try it again as it’s been a while. I remembered liking their Lion King and Volcano roll and I was craving sushi that was flame seared. I went to the place on a Friday night. It wasn’t full or packed, probably a few people at the bar and another party of 2. Their menu changed a little bit but I was craving a volcano roll and a bento box. I think they are known for their boxes as they are relatively cheap compared to other Japanese restaurants and comes with a lot of food. They have a deluxe and a regular bento box, depending on how much sushi you want and if you want a side of gyoza. I ordered the regular bento box with spicy tuna roll (comes with 8 rolls) and chicken katsu. They have other options you can order with it such as teriyaki, pork katsu, sushi, tempura; etc. On top of picking two things, you get miso soup, salad, and 4 pieces of California roll. I also got a volcano roll to share, which is a California roll seared with spicy tuna on the top. From what I could remember a few years ago, the roll was similar. I enjoyed eating the sushi as it leaves a little bit of a burnt taste. I recommend this along with Lion King if you want seared salmon, and the katana roll which is a shrimp tempura roll wrapped with tempura. The karagee was also ordered to share – it wasn’t super great as it wasn’t as crispy. Staff was friendly and food overall was great. Bento box was great for its value and I left full and content. Will be returning next time I’m in town.

Hanami Sushi & Grill – Menu with Prices – 11811 Mukilteo Speedway, Everett

My favorite sushi place in the Pacific Northwest as it is only minutes away from home. Located off of the Mukilteo Speedway, this restaurant is always one I love coming back to since their whole staff is friendly and welcoming. I am a huge fan of their tempura shrimp roll and their Katsu. Although the rolls may be big, they are super tasty and flavorful, as they are some of my favorite sushi rolls ever. Their super crunch roll, mountain roll, and volcano roll are also good options to choose from if you’re looking for sushi. Their katsu don and their spicy pork bulgolgi are great options too. They both come with a miso soup and the bulgolgi comes with a salad and bowl of rice. The katsu breading is very flavorful and the bulgolgi is always sizzling hot when it comes out! Their chicken teriyaki is okay – I would definitely choose something else as an option for lunch or dinner! Hanami is definitely a place that you won’t want to miss. The only thing after coming here for 10+ years is that they increase their prices over the years. I guess good food comes with a price; however Hanami is definitely worth visiting if you’re in Mukilteo!

Tsunami Sushi & Hibachi – Menu with Prices – 114 N Tennessee Ave #101, Lakeland

I’d have to say over all this place is just ok. The soup that all our meals came with was the miso soup and no one at our table liked it, no one ate it. The ginger salad it dame with was good though. The crab Rangoon was AMAZING one of the best I’ve ever had. You could actually taste the sweet crab in it and not just a bunch of cream cheese. The dumplings were good as well, nothing special but we all liked them. I ordered the sushi number 2 lunch combo that came with the scorpion roll and Florida roll, they were good but not my fav only because I do not like the rolls with fried stuff, I’d prefer raw sushi. Also it said it had cream cheese in the scorpion roll but there was barley any in like 2 of the rolls and the rest had none. My con worker got the Maki lunch combo which came with a phili roll and tempura roll. The seaweed in the Phili roll was very chewy but had a great amount of cream cheese. The tempura roll was fried and it was my friends favorite of all but she still didn’t love it. The ramen was absolutely awful. It literally tasted like pork, veggies and noodles in water. It had NO flavor. My friend and I literally did not eat it. I told the waitress once and she said she would let them know in the back, when she came back to the table to ask about checks she said who’s check is the ramen going on. I asked her did you let them know in the back the ramen was awful and she said I’ll do that now. She came back with a man that had an attitude because we didn’t like it and tried to argue with me saying I’ve never had the miso broth before because they all taste like water… not true. We finally got them to take it off the bill. One more thing, my other co worker ordered a shrimp tempura roll but received a crab tempura roll. When she asked about what was in it the waitress said shredded shrimp lol. I said there is no way that is shrimp, it is red and white. It then took about 20 mins to get her correct roll.

Simple Fish – Menu with Prices – 6719 Division Ave S, Grand Rapids

Tried Simple Fish for the first time today. We really enjoyed it. We came in between meal times so they weren’t very busy. Service was great. Menu selection is great. There were a lot of things we wanted to try so we’ll have to go back. I ordered a salmon poke bowl and tried several of their sauces (eel, ponzu, dragon and spicy Mayo) All were really good. I ended up mixing the eel sauce and dragon sauce and it was DELICIOUS. I also asked for them to add tempura flakes for some crunch. My partner ordered sushi: spicy tuna, Dragon roll, Samurai roll and the baked scallop roll. He loved them all. His favorite was the baked scallop roll. I tried his rolls and my favorite was the Samurai roll (I love salmon.) Prices are reasonable. There are some pricey menu items as there usually are at sushi places but you can definitely keep the bill reasonable by choosing some of their equally delicious lower dollar amount options. We high recommend trying it out! *Disclaimer: I am a bit of sushi snob and often don’t like a lot of sushi places that are outside of my usual favorites*

Keys on Main – Menu with Prices – 1003 Pacific Ave, Tacoma

I have gone to Keys on Main many times and it is always a fun time. Tonight however, was very disappointing. I went out with a group of friends to celebrate three different birthdays. We knew the drill and before the performers came out put our $20 birthday request on the table. When they came out they informed the crowd that in order to be sung to on stage that what we did is what is required. I understand that the way normal song requests go is the higher the price paid the sooner it gets played. But we were told that birthday songs are $20 and they get mixed in. Well our request never got played and I asked the staff around 12:30 after I closed out our $100 tab if I could get a refund since it was a birthday request and not a regular song. The waitress asked her managers and said we would have to ask the performers. So I did just that and they said no we can’t take back our request. It is very sad that we could not get the main thing that made us choose Keys on Main to celebrate. Thank you for helping me come to the decision to not celebrate at this establishment in the future.

Junn all you can eat sushi – Menu with Prices – 1320 E Broadway Rd STE 101, Tempe

The sushi quality has been inconsistent and this was my 3rd visit. On my other 2 visits, I had an excellent dining experience and had an amazing server. She was patient while I decided what I wanted and even reccomend a few sushi rolls to me. She was my server the first two times i visited and I had an excellent experience. Last night my boyfriend and I went again and we had a different server, although the girl that waited on us the other times was still there. Upon being sat, we saw our server sparingly and she never came by to check on the food and never came by to refill our drinking glasses (water). Ironically, the girl who previously waited on me was very attentive and helpful. At one point, my boyfriend ordered a Volcano Roll and after around 15 minutes, our server asked if we got all we ordered and if we wanted anything else. We told her we were waiting on a volcano roll but that would be the last of our food. She said she would go check in the kitchen because sometimes it takes them a while to bake, understandable. She comes back 15 min later and we still don’t have the roll, she again says she will go check in the kitchen, we hear nothing back. ANOTHER 15 min goes by and the girl that was not my waitress this visit but was on the other visits comes to our table to check on us and we again say we are waiting on a volcano roll and it has been over 30 minutes. I see as she goes to check with the sushi bar about what is going on with our roll…. They had finished the roll and had it set out on the counter for pickup and our actual server paid 0 attention and it remained there. I then saw the girl that helped us, not our waitress, go to the manager and tell him how we had been waiting on a sushi roll for over 30 min and it was literally left out on the table this whole time!!! The manager comes up to us and apologizes but just wants to make sure we actually want the roll. We had been sitting here over 45 min waiting for a single roll and the manager just wanted to make sure we still wanted it? Did nothing to appease the situation. Our server only came by once to drop off/pick up the check, and she nor the manager tried to make it a better experience. I would not reccomend coming here on a Friday night or anytime you would expect a restaurant to be busy, they do not seem to be capable of handling a dinner rush. I might come back to dine here but I will request that specific server that has continued to go above and beyond to help the patrons of the restaurant while all others, including the manager, drop the ball. I will also be avoiding this restaurant on weekends and dinner times.

Zuma Sushi & Sake Bar Menu with Prices 701 Highland Ave NE, Atlanta

Zuma aka Umai now. Umai still has the same owners , the just recently changed there name and plans to change their menu soon. I wonder why they are changing their name??? Nevertheless I have known Zuma aka Umai now to have pretty ok sushi for a late night craving. However I disagree now. The quality of the fish and other fresh ingredients is no longer present. Umai has seen to take a cheaper route in purchasing their food to prepare items on the menu. My order consist of : Spicy scallop roll: I never had a spicy scallop roll with avocado in it. The Avocado does not pair with the taste of a raw scallop along with the avocado being too ripe and extremely mushy. Shrimp tempura roll : frozen tempura rolled that is already fried and all you have to do is flash fry it again to put in the tempura roll, however this already pre-cooked roll was Extremely salty. Spring rolls (x5) – frozen precooked spring rolls that requires flash frying as well. However the ingredients inside the roll was extremely mushy. Pork Ramen- pork ramen is suppose to consist of a RICH pork broth . The taste of the ramen was bland like Ramen pork noodles in a package from Walmart on top of eating a boiled egg in the broth that has been sitting for days apparently causing my stomach to be upset later this evening . (Look at this egg in my photo) Last the wait time to recieve my shrimp tempura roll was extremely long. The waiter states the kitchen was backed up but there were only 2 people in the restaurant (myself and another guest). All the waiting staff seemed to be in their own world with carefree service towards their patrons. Overall my food and experience was terrible and I will not nor will I reccomend this restaurant to anyone. Save your money. I spent $42.00 on what? ??? ….A bunch of old / frozen food.

Green Papaya Thai & Sushi cuisine – Menu with Prices – 841 S Ponce De Leon Blvd #10, St. Augustine

I gave this place a couple of tries to impress me but I keep getting disappointed I love green curry so I ordered that one time. Disappointed Drunken noodles…disappointed Can’t blame them. Those two dishes are Thai. They’re not thai so can’t say them know how it’s suppose to be made. Sushi…very disappointed I’m disappointed about how their “spicy tuna” in all of their special rolls are just made up of 95% tempura crumbs dyed red and tiny bits of tuna. How I know is that I can’t eat fried food because I get sick from the grease and I didn’t understand why I felt really sick after I had ordered 5 of their special rolls that all had “spicy tuna” in them. So I took one piece of the sushi and opened it up. And I was pretty mad after I saw that it was just fried tempura crumbs. And then I realized that they put “spicy tuna” in these special rolls and jack the price up to $14 $15 a roll. Wow. I don’t mind paying more for quality but when you deceive me and make me think I’m paying for quality when you’re just using crumbs, that’s when I have a problem. I will never set foot back in there. Well I did like the mochi Ice cream though. That’s the one thing they didn’t make themselves.

Sushi Sake Bird Road – Menu with Prices – 14629 SW 42nd St, Miami

In attempts to satisfy a serious sushi craving, I found myself at Sushi Sake Bird Road. Upon arrival I almost began regretting my decision, observing a more than full house. To my surprise we were sat immediately inside. This location can forcefully fit a pretty large crowd. It was a little tight and uncomfortable in the double booth/chair tables, but the staff was well adapted to the crammed environment and made it less of an issue. This location has really great service compared to some of the chain’s other locations. We were helped by Damaris, she was very helpful and quick, and the only Sushi Sake server to ever offer me the free cotton candy (What a sweet surprise!!). She even went as far as offering us hand sanitizer before serving the dessert. I have to take away some rating due to how overcrowded the space was. Even with the staff moving smoothly about the restaurant it was extremely loud and the seating was very cramped. We also noted a female staff member serving or running food in a black Bralette. I found it odd because she was the only one wearing the garment so we felt like it was a little off or awkward. Her outfit choice was extremely informal and didn’t really fit the evening or her fellow staff members. We ordered a green salad, spring rolls, a Hollywood Roll, and a dragon roll. The Green Salad- The dressing was super yummy( it’s very tangy with hints of ginger)it was something simple and inexpensive to munch on before the rolls came out Spring Rolls- They were light and crispy and moist on the inside , came with sweet and sour Hollywood- rice, seaweed, spicy tuna Fresh, rich in flavor, great texture Dragon- Asparagus very fresh, shrimp tempura done well

School Sushi – Menu with Prices – 163 W Short St, Lexington

Revisiting the hallowed halls of academia might be a smart move when considering the School Sushi restaurant at 163 West Short Street in downtown Lexington, Kentucky. The interior is designed with lively schools of fish. The windows, walls and lighting fixtures of this former bank literally shimmer with oceanic ambiance. The menu boasts a wide variety of appetizing choices to answer those particular cravings that only fresh sushi and other traditional, made from scratch Japanese specialties can satisfy.   We settled on three handcrafted rolls for our dining pleasure. Paired with a delectable honey mayonnaise, the Honey Bee Roll consists of tender shrimp and tempura crunch inside with savory tuna and salmon on top. Fire and Ice Roll is a delectable, spicy tuna roll crowned with zesty orange and green flying fish roe. The Crunch and Munch Roll combines a shrimp crested roll filled with a peppery crab, garnished with tangy mayo and that tantalizing tempura crunch. Seated at the prep bar we observed the fresh selection of fish and seafood used in the creation of our rolls. A consensus could not be reached in debating our favorite, as every one was delicious! The owner, Tomoka, ensures that the service at School is exceptional with friendly and knowledgeable staff presenting beautifully plated entrees. Close attention is paid to detail, right down to the sculpting of wasabi paste into tiny fish. I’m delighted that School has moved to its downtown location where I feel they have found their true home. For a unique and flavorful experience, be sure to add the School Sushi restaurant to your A+ list of Lexington’s many fun and tasty activities.

Sushi Gone Wild – Menu with Prices – 24004 Vista Montana, Torrance

[Review #392] 2019 Yelp 100 Challenge (42/100) I enjoyed a fantastic dinner with fellow Yelper, Eriko N., who is also connected to the owner, Mr. Kim. She said I had to meet this cool guy… our ritual girls night out was spent at Sushi Gone Wild. No, this isn’t “girls gone wild,” but it’s a family-friendly & easygoing establishment that makes you feel welcomed. Last night, we had 3 plates of sushi: MONSTER ROLL (in: shrimp, crab; out: spicy tuna, avocado, eel, teriyaki sauce, onion, smelt egg, sesame seed, sriracha), NINJA MAKI ROLL (5 kinds of fish & crab, mango; out: cucumber with ponzu sauce & Japanese dressing), & LOBSTER (CRAWFISH) ROLL (in: shrimp tempura roll, crab; out: baked crawfish, onion, smelt egg, teriyaki sauce, sesame seed, pepper mayo sauce). This isn’t your traditional omakase sushi restaurant with fish flown in from around-the-world’s oceans… Sushi Gone Wild serves up unique rolls that’s atypical of Urasawa, n/naka, or Nozawa Bar, they’re more mom & pop with a decent size menu of classic & specialty rolls. The Ninja Maki Roll was light & refreshing, & it reminded me of the Oishii Roll at ODS. The Monster Roll was a monster of a roll that’s just savory & spicy enough. I really liked how the pepper mayo binded the ingredients of the Crawfish Roll & the crispiness of the shrimp tempura… no, it’s not lobster; I think they should just rename the dish as Crawfish Roll. We finished the night with a ball of GREEN TEA TEMPURA ICE CREAM; I really like the taste of the batter, but it was slightly too thick. Halfway through dinner, we ran into a couple of friends & joined our tables. It was a fun night with great company, & Mr. Kim, the owner, bought a couple rounds of sake! I, Kim, even got a pic with Mr. Kim… LOLã?½(*â?¿*)ã?? I’m guessing he’s very popular & has a lot of regulars because a lot of customers were toasting him. =) If you’re looking for quality sushi rolls & a chill vibe, then look no further than Sushi Gone Wild & its friendly staff serving up delish food. For a small sushi joint, they were jam-packed all night long until closing so come early & grab a seat! Recommended: Lobster (Crawfish) Roll & Ninja Maki Roll.

Ichiban all you can eat – Menu with Prices – 4041 Buffalo Rd, Erie

Had not too great of an experience last night and if you have seen my reviews, I tend to always give positive reviews but I cannot think of anything positive last night. There was a very large communication barrier between our waitresses and our family. She didn’t understand us and we didn’t understand her so it made questions impossible. Thankfully someone came over to help when we experienced an issue. We really never had a “bad” avocado roll ever in our lives until last night. My daughter and I are vegetarians so we always get 2 avocado rolls, one with cream cheese and crunch, and a veggie roll. Let me say they were HORRIBLE!!! The avocado was not ripe (sour and hard). We took all the avocado out of the rolls and had everyone try at the table and discarded the rest. I sent the other 2 back. The waitress couldn’t understand what I was saying when I said not ripe/not ready. Someone else came over and explained they just got the avocados and they were all like this. They offered another tempura veggie roll but those the waitress didn’t even put in the first place because there was no tempura or sweet potato (and the asparagus was hard and not good). I decided on pad thai which was ok. Spicer than I have ever had and oily but I was starving and pregnant. So when we got the check we expected all of the avocado rolls to be removed but they left two on AND charged for the pad Thai so i had to pay for one disgusting meal and one ok one I didn’t want. We of course asked her why she charged it but again, language barrier. My dad said his oysters and meal were good, mom said hers was ok, and my husband so so but everyone agreed the sushi was horrible and it or the pad Thai should have been removed from bill–bad customer service. We will never ever be back.
