Riley Starks the former owner of Willows Inn on Lummi still provides seafood to their restaurant amongst many of the other fine Washington/Seattle establishments, the salmon is of the highest quality and is only reef net fished. This season in particular the fat content of the fish are extra high which means flavor. Ate a tom while visiting many of the seafood restaurants, Riley’s farm and a side I brought home. Going to have to start getting that selection shipped down now that it’s high season

Stillman Quality Meats – Menu with Prices – 157 Harding St, Worcester

This butcher shop is the bricks and mortar location for the farm in Hardwick, MA. If you want food that is fresh and you know where it is coming from, this is your place! The business has more than just the meat from their farm. They sell local seafood, prepared foods, sausage, cheese and sweets. They have some candy and chocolates from a place in Vermont. The cheese selection is a very good cheese selection (Cowgirl Creamery). People in Worcester will be tempted to go to another meat market nearby that sells cheap meat. So, I say go ahead. Get something from them, then get the same item from Stillman’s and taste the difference. The freshness and flavor should be enough. But the most important thing is that this is a family farm treating their animals with respect and comfort. I would much rather have a steak from a happy cow than one that lives in the mass production that stresses the animal.

Free Range Fish & Lobster – Menu with Prices – 450 Commercial St, Portland

Visiting Free Range Fish & Lobster was probably the best decision we made in our short weekend trip to Portland, ME. The goal for this trip was to “lobster-out”- eat as much lobster as possible that we will feel sick of it. After couple lobster rolls, my husband and I realized it would be impossible to do so at sit-down restaurants. This brought us to visit this place on our last few hours to pick our own and get the freshest steamed lobsters we could during our time in Portland. Free Range Fish & Lobster is a local, rather small fish market that is located right next to the dock where they get access to the seafood they sell. They have lobsters of all size from 1lb chix to ~3 lbs special select. We went all out and decided to get the special select ones and MAY have over-ordered. Since it wasn’t lobster season, the special select lobsters were $13 per pound, so we actually ended up spending quite a bit on these. However, it was worth every penny. They steam it in their oven for you- which takes about 20 minutes, so plan accordingly- without extra charge. We brought it back to our room and ate it at home. Basically, these lobsters carried the taste of the sea. They needed no seasoning- they were perfectly salty and shell-fishy. The claws were the size of our hands. They had so much meat in them that we were actually full after our first lobster. I would definitely recommend this place and would go back if I’m visiting the area again!

Fish King Seafood Restaurant & Market – Menu with Prices – 5210 S Padre Island Hwy, Brownsville

I flew in from Chicago and stopped by this very local place for lunch. Wow! Best seafood I ever had. Better than top restaurants like Eddie V Or Catch 35 or Hugo’s frog bar. The chef really knows how to make the sauce to compliment FRESH FRESH FISH. As matter of fact you can pick out your fish as this a fish market before it was a restaurant. The fish is cooked to perfection- which means it is NOT overcooked. Prices are very low and the place is very basic. But the food is 5 STARS.

Destin Connection Seafood Market – Menu with Prices – 3750 Norman Bridge Rd, Montgomery

If you love fish, or any of the various kinds of swimmers we eat, you will want to visit Destin Connection. Its long-time location on Norman Bridge Road used to be in the middle of a thriving suburb. Itâ??s gotten long in the tooth now, but the Connection soldiers on and locals know it. You can eat there, or carry out, and other reviewers have extolled the quality of the prepared food.If you have access to a kitchen, I want to encourage you to visit and purchase fresh fish to cook yourself. The fine dining restaurants mostly get their fish from DC, and you can make a quick simple meal yourself for a lot less money. The types of fish change with season and availability… they get most all of it from the Gulf Coast so think Snapper, Amberjack, Grouper, etc. They have shellfish too, and some fish is shipped, but youâ??ll know it by its non-Gulf origin. Itâ??s fine, but really you canâ??t go wrong if you stick with the tried and true local stuff. One of the best parts about this place for the cook, however, is the guys who work there! They will give advice on everything from prep to portion sizes, to simple cooking methods. And you really should ask, because they know what they are doing when it comes to fish. You can get great fish for a hefty price at a restaurant like Jubilee and Iâ??m not knocking it, but with minimal effort and fish from DC you can provide your own feast. If you are stuck for ideas, ask the guy who sells you the fish! You wonâ??t regret it.

Direct Seafood Outlet – Menu with Prices – 1643 Cypress Ave, Melbourne

Jerry and his crew are amazing! This is a fun and friendly business that I frequent at about every 2 weeks or less to stock up and the seafood is very good – I am quite picky coming from San Francisco. My favorites are the Scottish Salmon, Scallops and Snow Crab Legs. Of course I have eaten many other tasty items that are also of high quality – this is my go to seafood shop and the prices are reasonable. I have tried seafood from around at different places and it doesn’t come close to the quality at Direct Seafood. If they weren’t here, I would not be eating much seafood since I haven’t been able to find quality outside of this place and I won’t eat it if it isn’t really good. This place gets packed on weekends and is out of control on holidays – its that good. The good news about that is that means the fish is always fresh! The stuff is flying out the door… I’m so glad when Jerry took this business over that he stayed committed to high quality seafood. He is great business man and his employees are so nice, very customer service oriented. I love this place. P.S. crab claws are tasty too.

Seafood Shop – Menu with Prices – 9747 E 21st St N, Wichita

The Seafood Shop (Full review with photos on JakeRamstack.com) Where do you find fresh fish in a land-locked state? The best place to go is the Seafood Shop. They offer fresh fish delivered daily from the dock. There are even restaurants here in Wichita, that only buy their fish from the Seafood Shop. (insider secret) We always buy the smoked salmon and make an appetizer recipe with smoked salmon and whipped creme cheese with an apple slice on a cracker. It’s amazing, you also should try their dips – ready to go. They carry over 200 species of fish and shellfish, but if you want something special, they can order and have it to you within 48 hours. If you would like, they will cook your fish for you too. Want something ready to eat? They offer dinners to-go on Tuesday through Saturday, and lunch on Fridays. The fish tacos are superb. Meet Tish, Seafood Shop owner and awesome fish monger, pictured on right. She knows all about the fish. Stay tuned for an ‘Around Town’ video on the Seafood Shop! Fun fact: They also have cooking classes and recipes listed on their website. Check them out!

The Commander’s Shellfish Camp – Menu with Prices – 7579 A1A S, St. Augustine

Wow! This restaurant slash bar slash seafood market really delivers! My mom and I were visiting my grandparents in Florida when we decided to check out this joint for dinner one evening, and even they, Florida transplants going on 30 years, were amazed. They said it was the freshest, tastiest seafood meal they’d ever had! We started with beers and 1 lb. of steamed shrimp served chilled. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, easily to peel, and had the flavor and texture of fresh seafood. Just fantastic. We also shared a crab cake (the remoulade stole the show with that one) and salads (better than your standard side salad in my opinion), both solid choices. My grandparents had blackened fish and grilled shrimp, which they thoroughly enjoyed, and my mom and I shared fried fish and shrimp. The fry batter was so thin and crispy, perfectly complimenting the delicate, fresh fish. The restaurant was very crowded, so the service wasn’t superrrr quick, but everyone was friendly. I highly recommend sitting outside if it’s cool enough – watching the sunset while chowing down on fresh seafood serves serious Florida vibes! DEFINITELY recommend Commander’s Shellfish Camp to Floridians and tourists alike!

Step?s Garlic Seafood – Menu with Prices – 540 N Wabash Ave, Lakeland

I know without a doubt it’s not a matter of “IF” but “WHEN” the word truly gets out, about Step’s Garlic Seafood and Fish Market. It will be one of the premier Restaurants in Florida. Don’t be fooled by imitations; her homemade, special recipe will have your tastebuds screaming for more I travel all the way from Washington State to get me some It’s that Good!! For those of you who live in the area start out with one of her Loaded Seafood Pleasing Potato! I just didn’t have enough time to eat everything. There was blue crabs Jumbo Shrimp plates, All types of fish & she even does platters for parties. As a host your guest will love you. The building isn’t the best, but the location is great. There’s even deserts & a place across the street that do up these little amazing fruit Icees.

Harbor Meat & Seafood – Menu with Prices – 215 Helena Ave, Santa Barbara

We’re very fortunate to live in an awesome town that has several fish markets to choose from. Most of them are actually pretty good, but this one is definitely the best! The staff is extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, but most importantly of all their seafood is super fresh and amazingly delicious! It looks very industrial from the outside, and it is. They mainly supply restaurants in town, and for a while I wasn’t sure they were open to the general public. I kick myself for not checking it out sooner because they really do have great seafood. So don’t be afraid to go peak your head through the plastic curtain into the chilled fish room where you’ll find one of the friendly staff to help you. You will literally be walking in to a refrigerated room that they do prep in, so depending on the day you may find someone prepping a bunch of fish for a local restaurant, etc. Don’t expect to see a fancy display case of fish. In fact, there isn’t a display case at all. However, they are happy to bring anything out you want to see and are very knowledgeable about their product. I recommend asking them what’s fresh, although really it’s all fresh, but some of it may have previously been frozen. Sometimes they just got something extra spectacular in that day, so I always jump on that. I recently had a piece of halibut from there that was to die for. Best piece of halibut I’ve ever had. I enjoyed seeing how thoroughly everything was cleaned and that they kept it at a nice cool temperature to keep the fish fresh. I highly recommend checking it out if you like good, fresh fish at really reasonable prices. Also, if you buy a whole fish it’s less expensive and they’re usually willing to break it down for you free of charge (fillets, steaks, etc.) So, if you have a friend or two you can split a whole fish with, or just a hungry family, this is a really great way to buy. I haven’t checked out the meat market side, although having been to the fish side several times now I’m sure the quality is just as good on the meat side. Just not as big of a meat eater as I am fish.

Santa Barbara Harbor – Menu with Prices – 132-A Harbor Way, Santa Barbara

The annual Harbor and Seafood Festival is one of my favorites here in Santa Barbara. Held every year in October right when lobster season begins. At this festival you will find our local Fishermen selling their fresh caught seafood such as halibut, flounder, rock fish, fresh lobster, crab, prawns, and other local-caught seafood. It was great meeting them and getting to know more about their fish and how it was caught. You can purchase any seafood and have it grilled on sight. Live entertainment, art, jewelry, clothing, and many more vendors are here. You will also find free boat tours and rides. This year the Dolphin was giving free boat rides but I didn’t find out until later. Hopefully next year I can check it out. This event is free but seems to get busier each year with the crowds being at high peak around 11am! So get here when it starts (10am) to avoid long lines. My only gripe is this is a one day festival! I wish it was two days. Nonetheless a fun festival to check out!

Fresno Seafood Company – Menu with Prices – 2327 N Fresno St #106, Fresno

The name of this business is deceiving. When you hear “Fresno Seafood Company” one might think you can go here to buy fresh seafood and they are the #1 resource in the central valley to do so. Unfortunately that is not the case. Yes they sell fresh seafood, but it is not a huge selection that you might think when you hear “Fresno Seafood Company” You will find a a much better selection over at Island Pacific Supermarket or SF (Shun Fat) Market. I did not compare prices though so who knows, maybe the sell it cheaper here than the aforementioned. Don’t get me wrong though I’m not saying the selection is bad, I was just expecting an expansive selection of fresh seafood that beats supermarkets. That is not the case. But what they do have is fresh. I would say call before hand on what they are selling. Another dimension of this place and where they shine is the cooked food. Good ol’ fried food. Fish and chips are a great deal here. Freshly battered and fried and super tender fish. Very generous portions for a good value. They have tons of other freshly cooked food items. Not just seafood but also meats. They also have some other packaged stuff for sale. So the identity of this place needs work, but what they are doing right now works. The workers are nice and friendly and easy to talk to and ready to help. But most importantly the food is legit, and sometimes that is all that matters.

Cajun Seafood & Wings – Menu with Prices – 4221 Pleasant Valley Rd suite121&122, Virginia Beach

So it was one of those Friday dinner take out for my family and we were deciding either bbq or seafood and so we gave this place a try. The title alone got our attention! We love the taste of Cajun, we love Seafood, and wings, so why not get it all right? From calling twice since I had to change the flavor, it was no problem at all. First I asked for Cajun flavor with butter and garlic, not realizing the spice level, so I called the 2nd time. I asked the spice level of their Cajun which is medium hot, so I told the guy my concern and so he suggested Old Bay with butter and garlic and will add the Cajun sauce on the side (no extra charge). Our order was ready by the time we got there even though there were either customers seated, waiting for order, and phone orders. The guy at the front was doing it all which he made it look easy and we didn’t wait too long! Anyhow, from the pictures on yelp, I did not think the trays were the size of a party tray (I thought it was half that size.)The price was great and the portion was more than enough. We actually have left overs for tomorrow! We ordered the combo 1-crab legs and shrimp and combo 2-crab legs and mussels, flavor: both Old Bay with side of Cajun sauce (no extra charge). Combo trays comes with corn, broccoli, sausage, and potatoes (all tasted fresh). We also ordered a side of 10 piece chicken honey sriracha flavor, which was perfectly mixed well! My taste buds was bursting with all that sweet and a hint of spice flavors! I wanted more! The food exceeded our expectations and bravo to the guy at the front managing it all! My only recommendation is to have an extra body close by just in case and maybe play some music? We got our Cajun, Old Bay, seafood, and chicken fix for the evening! Also, they gave us a free cole slaw which my husband devoured instantly! They have a variety of selection from side orders, platter/combos, steam, boiled, or fried which other restaurants lacks! That’s a leg up for Cajun Seafood and wings! Now, I have a seafood place to order from in case I need a seafood party tray! You can dine in as well, but for us we decided to order out! I will definitely be a regular though when I am not in a cooking mode! So my question for you is, would like your steamed/boiled seafood order served in a tray or in a bag? (a tray of course!) Check them out! You will not be disappointed! Also, it’s in the same shopping center as Tung Hoi and Saigon! How great to have all these delicious place in close proximity! Love it!
