If you’re reading this and asking yourself if you should book, definitely DO IT. I wanted to dye my hair on a whim and didn’t regret it at all. I called right when they opened and Co Thoa answered. She said they could fit me in an hour later and to bring photos of what color I wanted. We had a discussion about the photos and she warned me about going too light because it would damage my hair. She said she would mix up two of the photos I showed her and tone it down a little. I trusted her to do her magic. We agreed to do some brown roots for easy maintenance. I asked for an inch layered cut before dyeing because my ends were dead. I think that might’ve added onto the price. Either that or later on she mentioned she had to increase prices for using the best products for hair. The total I paid was $200 in cash (not including tip). It was soo worth it and less expensive than other places. The process lasted around 3 hours. Co Thoa mostly did my hair but Kim did helped here and there. At times, both worked on it the same time. Both were really sweet and told me where the water was and asked if I was hungry. I was chilling on my phone most of the time while she worked on other customers. There must’ve been 2 or 3 others at the same time but they were not rushing anyone. Even if they were working on another customer, they would remember to come back and work on your hair. I did 3 bleach sessions. There was a lot of back and forth to the chair and washing station. Also, using the heat station. They even added olaplex to my hair for free at the end. My hair feels great and not dead!! It feels really soft. She told me to deep condition and not to use too much heat on my hair. She told me to come back in a year so she could tone and do more to my hair. And trimmed my hair again at the end! The whole experience was great especially since it was my first time at a salon. Both were very welcoming and listened to what you wanted. Visit this place if you can!!

El Ranchero Meat Market – Menu with Prices – 1814 N Story Rd, Irving

After visiting this taco place so many times and always being satisfied with the tacos me and my husband recently had a really bad experience. My husband found a ball of hair in his tacos and it was so disgusting I immediately told him to call so that he can get his order replaced. I honestly was so disgusted I didnâ??t even want to finish my own tacos. He called and was told to take the tacos back to them and so he can speak to the manager in charged. After we got there I got off with my husband and we showed the lady the box with the tacos and the hair ball we found. She immediately tried to insinuate that we put the hair ball in there. She also went on to say that the place was clean and the guys who made the tacos didnâ??t see anything. This got me really Angry. First of all we had not eat all day we were starving and decided to pick up tacos from here. As soon as we ordered them we got home and started eating. Putting hair balls in my tacos is not really how I would like to spend my afternoon. I donâ??t have time for bs like this. She also said that the hair would have been â??wetâ? if we truly did find it there. I this point I was extremely angry and just wanted to know if she was going to replace my order or not. The box had 7 tacos and my husband had only eat 3 he was still hungry. We didnâ??t want free food we just wanted the tacos that werenâ??t accompanied by a hair ball. Not coming here for a really long time.

Shipwreck Barbershop – Menu with Prices – 4541 La Sierra Ave, Riverside

I’ve only been here once, but David cut my hair 4 times at the last barber shop he worked at. I have weird shitty hair, so it’s hard for me to get a cut I really like. And typically it takes a new barber 3-4 cuts to get a cut I dig. He killed it the first time out though. It was probably the best hair cut I’ve ever gotten. And there are barbers who had cut my hair 30+ times. There’s a good reason every review here’s 5 stars. I only recommend David because he’s the only barber here I’ve gotten a hair cut from. Once I find one I tend to stick with them. If you need a bomb hair cut you can’t go wrong with anyone here, this is a legit barber shop where everyone has insane skills. While the prices are higher than some spots, you get what you pay for. I have zero problem paying more here and still tipping $10-15. And as others have mentioned the owners chill and makes you feel like you’re at home. I had been going to the same barber for a long time before David, and I had kind of gotten into a rut of the exact same fade every time. There was nothing wrong with it, but it was just typical and plain. I told him to do whatever he wanted to my hair, there was no input from me. I kicked around a few idea about my beard. This cut was nothing I would have specifically asked for. But the way it turned out, it’s my new go to. He’s also INSANE with beards. I have shitty, nappy, rough facial hair, and he managed to make it look like I have a good beard lol. Here’s a picture of the 1st cut I got from him, it was last summer. At a different shop but the same barber. When he left the other shop, I did too. 2 of the best feelings I have in this world are when I’ve detailed the hell out of my ride, and when I have a fresh hair cut. You need a hair cut? MAKE AN APPOINTMENT ONLINE NOW! I recommend David. So yeah, I’m a pretty meh looking dude, but that’s not his fault at all lol. But my hair and beard? He hooked the shit up big time, so I’m super grateful as I need any help I can get ha. I got a ton of good comments.

The Hair Cafe – Menu with Prices – 7201 Archibald Ave #6, Rancho Cucamonga

I know the pictures speak for themselves but everything about visiting this salon has been perfect. I was referred to Maria by my cousin. I knew I was going to have to cut some damaged hair off and didn’t think I’d be able to get close to the color I wanted because of the faded red I previously had from another salon. However, she worked her magic as usual kept some length and I loved the outcome even better than my original request! She suggests what’s best for your hair and gives you what your looking for without frying ur hair. I’ve gone to salons who don’t really care if they fry ur hair because they’re going to get paid regardless! Maria and from what I’ve seen the other girls there also genuinely care about their clients. On top of everything else they are extremely affordable. I have thick hair and it still doesn’t feel like they burn a hole in your pocket. I learned my lesson and will not go to anyone else.

Hannah Beauty Hair Salon – Menu with Prices – 4712 El Cajon Blvd Ste E, San Diego

I went here to get my haircut by Hannah (store owner) bc my sister recommended her. I have always been hesitant with getting my hair cut bc it has never come out how I wanted, but OMG!!! I AM SO IN LOVE WITH MY HAIRCUT FROM HANNAH!!!!! Never in my life have I loved my hair this much. EVER. She listened to exactly what I wanted and replicated the photo I showed her. She really took her time with me and my hair feels and looks AMAZING. You can tell she’s really skilled based off how she cuts & I cannot emphasize how happy I am. This is the first time in my life that I have LOVED my haircut. I wish I could give her even more stars!! I’m from Irvine & was just visiting for the weekend, but now I’ll definitely have to make the 1.5hr commute to always get my cut here. It’s totally worth it!!!! I will never go anywhere else now. Ps. She’s so affordable too!

Crave nutrition – Menu with Prices – located inside the Salon Studio, 1401 E Williams Field Road Suite # 101 studio# 3, Gilbert

I got my hair done yesterday by brook! I have to say I love love love this place. Everyone was so sweet and respectful, they’re just like family working together. I went in with a mess of hair and wanted to be all blonde. He told me everything he was doing from the beginning to the end and hours later I ended up with beautiful blonde hair! I also had some help from a few other of the sylist and it amazed me how they all communicated with each other and informed one another with what they were doing with my hair so it came out just great. I usually go to Tucson to get my hair done but this place is simply amazing. I’ll be returning and definitely recommending them to friends and family.

Aburi Sushi & Ramen – Menu with Prices – 735 E Green St, Pasadena

Now I can finally write a review for this place after coming here three times. I had both good AND bad experience so let me just start out by saying your experience may depend on the day of your visit. My very first time at Aburi was with my best friend. She and I had a great dinner doing AYCE even though no server has informed us about how only 5 orders will be served first or whatever they call this policy. Second time, I went with my Mom. Since I have gone to other Aburi location in Long Beach and also here with my bestie, I thought I knew what was going on. My server named ‘Lily’ was very unprofessional. After filling out my order sheet, I handed to her and she told me about the 5 orders thing and not knowing what it was, I told her last time I was here I wasnt told that but its fine, it is what it is. Then she tried to argue with me in a very annoying tone so I was like whatever. Then she goes off telling me that NONE of the COLLARS are available (Salmon & Yellowtail). So I said its fine. It was just her attitude, tone of her voice and behavior that made me so irritated. She didnt look serious and looked very nonchalant. Before getting my orders, another server comes and explains to me about Lily’s actions and re-explained to me about the 5 order policy and so I clearly told her I wasnt too fond of way she delivered the message; unprofessional. Later, I got some of my orders then I see both Salmon and Yellowtail collars coming my way. I told the new server that ‘Lily’ told me you guys dont have any collars available and now I see both on my table. She said ‘she meant to say we have limited supply’ Um, excuse me? I know how to write and speak English. She CLEARLY told me she did NOT have it. She didnt mention anything about limited supply or whatever though I was aware because it says it on the order sheet. I was just so sick of everything from then on. So my second experience was crappy as ever so I decided to come again with my Boyfriend to finalize my thoughts before giving them a review. My third time was again so-so. My server was just fine. But it was the FOOD that was below par. My Boyfriend and I ordered 2 orders of sashimi (Salmon and Seared Tuna) and did not receive it after we received all of our orders for the first round. We also did not get any collars. I asked the server to check and a bit later, one of the collars came as salmon collar was not available. Our 2 sashimi came out with the Yellowtail Sashimi added during second round and so ALL of our sashimi came out at the same time. I belive it was Yellowtail Sashimi. Boyfriend took a piece to eat and later I looked at the plate to grab, I SEE A HAIR. A SHORT CURLY HAIR (please see attached picture with this review). I was disgusted. With the disappointing experience I had before, everything was unpleasant and started double checking all the foods left on the table for any hair or things that SHOULDNT be there. I called the server to let him know. He literally said, ‘oh sh!t’ and asked if I wanted a new one. My Boyfriend wanted it so I said yes. Other than that, no apology of any kind was made to my table. Again, this is very unprofessional. I dont want to stereotype but almost ALL asian owned businesses lack sooooooo much professionalism handling situations like this. Gross. I didnt want free food. All I wanted was an apology or a ‘statement’ from the manager but absolutely nothing! So that sums up all my dining experiences (3) here at Aburi. Extremely disappointed in lacking professionalism displayed by servers or even the management. Food hygiene is definitely a BIG issue. No parking available as street parking (1 hr) is the only option I believe. I was hoping to enjoy here at Aburi but since the first visit, it has been DOWNHILL. Such a disappointment. Done.

Thai Street Food Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 3340 Clays Mill Rd #110, Lexington

-As with the review below, the front desk lady has attitude problems from the start-Stopped in and ordered Drunken noodles (to go) and lo mien to go, both vegetable. I paid $23 for two medium noodle plates, but I figured maybe it was really good. I asked for the drunken noodles medium heat and instead of flavor it was all heat, zero flavor and the egg they put in there was really scorched and over cooked. The lo mien was ok at best and had badly scorched egg too. I also asked for chop sticks and no, they donâ??t have them either. Even Wong Wong has chopsticks. What a rip. I personally do not recommend, Way overpriced and short on flavor as well as quality. If youâ??ve never had decent Tai you might mistake this for good but Iâ??ve had store bought ramen that tasted better. I added photos of the scorched egg.

Wonder hair salon – Menu with Prices – 4425 Torrance Blvd, Torrance

Eugene was heaven sent ! Hubby was able to take a rare day off last minute and insisted I leave the house and get my nails done, a massage or a haircut or just drive somewhere to park and take a nap haha anything to get me out of the house (I have 3 kiddos under 3, yes yikes !) so I opted for a haircut. I knew it’d be a challenge finding an appointment anywhere soo last minute since I started making my calls at around 2:30. I checked a few reviews and made a few messages through yelp.. Eugene replied lightning fast and said she could take me in at 3:45. Turns out she had a last minute cancellation, I was super excited & super nervous since this would be the first time at a new place. Last time I tried a haircut with a good yelp following it didn’t work out for my hair and I was so disappointed… I sat in her chair, explained I was losing my hair by the buckets post having a baby (or 3) & my hair was very dry it sometimes gets extremely tangled. We came up with a game plan and I was whisked off to the heaven station or the hair washing station as some people know it by. She washed my hair, I requested the temperature to be cold since it was near 100 degrees out this day. I cannot describe the feeling, the cool water felt so amazing but the massage she gives when she’s shampooing and rinsing and conditioning and rinsing again ooh so amazing !!!!!!! I’m definitely coming back just for shampoo and blow dry appointments. I mean, it wasn’t a quick, here’s your “massage” now get outta my chair massage. It was an experience all on its own… once my hair was squeaky clean and scalp was done being in heaven it was time to sit in her chair and see how she’d do with my hair. Being that I’m losing my hair, I still have what some hairstylist call a “hair forest”.. I’m Hispanic so my hair is extremely thick and long and I have a lot of it… Being that Eugene is Asian, I was nervous that maybe she hadn’t worked on other ethnicity hair before (just a weird “what if” I had in my head), I noticed a lot of her products were Japanese so I just assumed her clientele was mostly Asian, and maybe it is but either way, she rocked it !!!! She handled my hair & my thickness sooo soo well! I absolutely loved my cut. I got home and my husband raved about my cut as well… all in all it was $70, which is a few bucks more than I’d expected but the experience and attention I received def merited it… def trust Eugene with your hair, once she’s got scissors in her hand she just gets so focused and ends with a win !

Peet’s Coffee – Menu with Prices – 13307 NE Hwy 99 Suite 115, Vancouver

I was extra thrilled about this place for two reasons: 1) This was the first coffee shop I have been to that had coconut whipped cream – yay! Being allergic to dairy, this was a huge bonus for me. 2) The young gentleman there was so friendly! Overall great customer service. I ordered a medium iced vanilla latte with the coconut whipped cream on top and a lemon ginger poppyseed scone. The coffee was delcious! The scone, however, was good but tasted like it had been sitting out all morning and I wasn’t asked if I wanted to heat it up. Unfortunately I was so hungry that I was halfway through the scone by the time I even thought, “this would be way better warm”, but I am pretty sure it wouldn’t be sanitary for them to heat up my half of a scone ? Flavors were still good though. Only other complaint is that the outlets are few and far between and the one that I did find wouldn’t hold my charger inside of it.. I had to literally ask my mr. nice coffee friend for some tape so I could tape my charger into the outlet to hold it to the wall. Possible fire hazard? Maybe, but it worked!

Precise Microscalps- Scalp MicroPigmentation A Hair Loss Solution For men & Women – Menu with Prices – 9269 Utica Ave #180, Rancho Cucamonga

I’ve had mine done since the advent of lash extensions more than a decade ago so I’ve gotten to know a lot about it. Most importantly, I’ve gotten to know who is a competent lash tech/artist and who’s not because their skill is directly reflected on my face. I had mine done by Thalia here at this establishment. [I normally go to a different lash salon (Alyssa’s Eyelash) but I had to get it done last minute so]. The PROBLEM at the outset with THALIA is her LACK of communication/assessment of what the client needs or wants for her lashes. She didn’t talk much nor smile ( but it’s perfectly fine with me). But at least ask what my target or goal shape would be before pouring the extensions on my eyeballs. If she talked it was kinda condescending, so it made it hard to communicate what you wanted for lash She exudes the bad vice as if she had her doctorate degree in lash Ext. placement; therefore, you or no one questions her). As a result, when she had my eyes open at the end, I was unsatisfied with the shape- I wanted more of a cat-eye shape. So, she re-taped my eyes shut and added a few long, pubic- hair like curly lash at the outer canthus. So, now I have a curly lash at the outer end of my eyeballs that look like public hair as they curl and come up touching my eyelids?! (See photos) MORAL OF THE STORY: I WOULD NEVER GET MY LASH DONE AGAIN BY THALIA.

Crows Nest Barbershop – Menu with Prices – 1104B Pensacola St, Honolulu

I took my son for the first time to Crows Nest Barbershop. We usually go to Supercuts, but this time he wanted to try a more of a stylish cut. I did a lot of research with the different Barbers in town, not extensively but read lots of reviews. I decided to give them a try. Walked in and immediately was greeted by both Barbers. Place is very clean, retro vibe, with the old Hawaiiana touches. Loved it! We both were nervous but immediately Mark made us feel at ease. My son has been through a lot this year… medically, mentally and emotionally. He wanted a new look to start this new journey in life as he heads off to College. Mark was very attentive and very sensative to some of the new medical challenges my son is dealing with. The sudden onset of Alopecia Areata, a run of chemotherapy that caused cystic acne all over his skin which causes a great deal of pain. Mark did an excellent job! My son usually winces in pain as the razors and clippers run through his hair. It has been so painful as a mom to see your son in so much pain from a hair cut… my heat breaks everytime he sat in the chair for a hair cut because I couldn’t stop it from hurting. This time it was so very different! The gental and caring skilled use of the clipper and scissor made a huge difference. Mark used a soft baby brush to move his hair to cut it. He was really gental with the clipper. He used a razor to clean the back hair line and made sure he was very gental. My son’s pain level today was at 0. We will definitely be back as usual customers! Thank you so much Mark for the great, awesome service and most of all a painless hair cut!

Johnny Rodriguez The Salon – Menu with Prices – 7500 Windrose Ave Suite B193, Plano

The short of it: they are high end place with all professional stylists and worth every penny (also, their price list is right online so there are no secrets here), open late and early Sunday-Saturday for convenience, valet parking in front or attached garage is literally right there. They want to offer the BEST experience and if you’re having a bad hair day, book your appointment now and stop looking. Johnny and Kate are a bit expensive to see, but their protégés are just as good and priced for the rest of us. I heard about the salon from the Legacy West Podcast. Yes, I’m a dork and you’re invited on the journey. The novel: I decided to go to a cheap place to get highlights. I ended up with worse than 90s chunky highlights, no toner, and a demarcation line. I called John Rodriquez the Salon 2 hours later (after a cooling off period) asking for a coloring expert–how much would it be to get this fixed and is coming in the same day too much on my hair? Lily put me in touch with Chrissie who was so sweet. She answered my questions patiently and was empathetic–it’s what I needed in the moment. She offered to take a look and do a free consultation. I said I would call back. (After conferring with my sweet hubby he said “go in and get it fixed, consult, color, cut–whatever you need”.) So I called back and booked all three for a few hours later. THEY’RE OPEN EARLY AND LATE! I came in for a 5:30pm appointment and Chrissie made my hair right again. She asked if I would be okay doing more blonde or if I wanted to blend my hair a little darker and got my input before taking the easy route (I wanted more blonde, so that worked great). She took notes about my desired cut and during styling gave me tips to style when I asked. She didn’t recommend any products as I didn’t ask, so I didn’t feel pressured to buy anything extra. I will NEVER try to save a few bucks on my hair again and I will just go see to this salon.
