When I was first introduced to pupusas by a coworker, it was at this Los Cabos. It’s a shame that I lived life so long without ever having tried them, but there’s no sense in living in the past because now we have one another and that is all that matters. I’m happy to hear that this place is as authentic as their pupusas are delicious, as it encourages me to venture out on the menu and try other things. (When I do so, I will update this review). For now, all I have to rave about is the pupusas. After craving them for a week, I finally stopped in today and picked up two bean and cheese pupusas before heading back to work during lunch break. I would have taken a picture, but the senses overtook me and they were quickly devoured. I would recommend Los Cabos even only based on this one dish. The service is very friendly, I love the salsa and pickled veggies, they are inexpensive and I wish I would have ordered about 6 more. I will def be back. Soon.

Pupuseria Juanita’s – Menu with Prices – 625 W 1st Ave, Eugene

Juanita’s is hands down the best. I’m a Bay Area native and ever since I got to Oregon a decade ago I’ve been craving good pupusas and good Mexican/Salvadoran food. The man who cooks and runs the stand is a sweetheart. His service is always with a smile and he is such a hard worker! The tacos are delicious. The burritos are fucking huge. The pupusas are made right then and there (no heating lamps = fresh). My boyfriend also got the flautas which is basically a giant grilled burrito. My boyfriend loves the Al Pastor, the carnitas, and the chicken. I’m vegetarian, but their cheese and bean/cheese pupusas are out of this world. Their green salsa is killer and their portions are generous. Inexpensive, big portions, friendly service, and great food. This is a FOOD CART. Be happy they have any seating at all, it’s a cute area (other reviewers complaining, boo). They are also cash only but there’s an ATM in the corner store they share a parking lot with!

Antojitos Y Mas Menu with Prices 16256 NE 8th St, Bellevue

We first tried pupusas in LA a few months ago, and since then we’ve been looking for pupusas around Seattle. This food truck came up in my search, so I came to get some for lunch. At $3 per pupusa, I thought it was a little bit pricey. I ordered one pork+cheese, one pork+beans+cheese, and one loroco+cheese. Had a wait about 10 mins, which I thought was a bit long… But when I drove back and started eating, I was pleasantly surprised! The pupusas were still piping hot after ~20 mins of driving. All three were delicious! When we have another pupusa craving, we will definitely be back!

Finca Coffee – Menu with Prices – 2500 Rimrock Rd Suite 105, Madison

We stopped in to try Finca today after hearing a lot of great buzz. Overall it was a really pleasant experience and I think there’s a good chance we’ll stop in again, even though this is completely the opposite side of town for us. We started with warm drinks in a cold day, and they didn’t disappoint. The Americano was deeply flavorful and well roasted, the mocha well balanced and delicious, and even the hit chocolate rich and creamy. We were off to a really solid start. For food we ordered two pupusas, and a small pork burrito. We were warned it would take ~30 minutes for the food, so we grabbed a seat in the pleasant dining room and played a few hands of cards. When the pupusas came out they were golden brown and accompanied by a perfect blend of pickled veg and a tasty salsa. We dug into both the chicharone and bean and cheese varieties and found them both very tasty! Pupusas are pretty new for us and if this is indicative of the dish and El Salvadoran food more broadly WE NEED MORE! Unfortunately our burrito didn’t arrive. Once we finished the pupusas I went to the open kitchen to ask if it was being made. Seems they’d misplaced the order, but we’re happy to make it up right then. The pork burrito was tasty (they were out of the steak) but not especially remarkable. After we’d finished THAT, the lovely ladies in the kitchen made us some chicken tacos, gratis, to apologize for losing the burrito order. These were DELICIOUS, and actually even better than the burrito! Excellent work on the juicy, flavorful grilled chicken. Overall it was a tasty and enjoyable experience with a few minor glitches. Certainly worth a stop if you’re in the area.

S. Antojitos Salvadorenos – Menu with Prices – 5721 S Westover Ave, Tucson

So I’m new to here and I’m very picky with my pupusas. I cannot live without tacos and pupusas. Back in California, i only eat my moms pupusas and two restaurants no where else (that’s how picky I am). The first time I tried them, i was scared, what if I didn’t like them? But omg, on the spot, delicious, homemade like pupusas! I was in love! Now we go when we can! The yuca Frita is freaking delicious as well. I would go more often if it was opened during the week. It is those “ugly” /sketchy location places that have he BEST foods.

La Salvadorena Menu with Prices 1331 Gardere Ln, Baton Rouge

Wow!!! My mouth is still watering from this taco trucks glorious creations. As a lacto-ovo vegetarian they didn’t seem to get my kind in there a lot but were able to accommodate me with refried beans and avacado and cheese as substitutes. I got the pupusas and some glorious egg in a tortilla dish. Omg omg omg. Wow! I DEVOURED MY FOOD!!! I wish they had more lighting around the area because we came so late at night and had a baby with us I was slightly uneasy about that situation but the food was totally worth the wait and everyone else seemed to think so because they were super busy! Brush up on your Spanish or at least try your spanglish people and relax and grab a coke. This food is affordabke and worth the wait.

A Taste Of El Salvador Menu with Prices 1565 Patton Ave, Asheville

Continuing my hole in the wall, ethnic food tour, today’s stop for lunch was A Taste of El Salvador. It’s a little tough to spot from the busy street, but if you look for Hollywood Vampires salon, it’s just to the right of it. It’s a free-standing building with a small parking lot. Inside the restaurant looked clean and a friendly woman greeted us. The interior is pretty spacious with plenty of tables, light and bright. We ordered a couple of pupusas (with pork, bean and cheese) and the Pollo a La Plancha. The pupusas here are really quite good. A bit smaller in size than Patty’s and a little different in texture, but good in their own right. If it was a taste-off battle, I would have to go with Patty’s Pupuseria (also on Patton Ave.) edging out Taste of El Salvador a bit. The Pollo a La Plancha was a nice plate of food. Well cooked, seasoned, thin, grilled chicken, served with rice, a small salad, fried yucca and plantains. Pretty healthy and light when it comes to Salvadoran food. I ate every bite. The agua fresca of the day was cantaloupe and it was very fruity and refreshing. For 4 pupusas, a Mexican Coke, agua fresca and Pollo a La Plancha, it was about $23 dollars. Not a bad value.

Fresh Box Cafe – Menu with Prices – 3230 W Commercial Blvd # 170, Fort Lauderdale

Love, love this place!! Whenever I come up to Broward for work, I always stop in here for food. They have great fresh salads, soups and various sandwiches. They have pre-made salads and a salad bar where you tell them what you want and they fix it for you. You are charged by the pound and very inexpensive. Today I had a navy bean soup that was delicious! I’d never had navy beans before and really wanted soup but not the traditional chicken noodle. Lisa was so awesome and allowed me to sample it first. Not to mention, it’s like she read my mind and asked if I’d like some rice with it! Winner!!! I ate the soup so fast that I didn’t get a chance to take a picture. It so was good that I tried to go back and get more but they’d sold out. Bummer!!! I most certainly will be back here as I sometimes have to work out of our Broward office. If you’re ever in the area, give it a try. You won’t be disappointed!!

Pupuseria Del Valle – Menu with Prices – 431 S Victory Blvd, Burbank

Yummo! I love pupusas. They are a staple of my culture. Salvadorean’s gotta have their pupusas. A pupusa can be a symphony in your mouth or a hard rock band. It depends on the masa to filling ration. It is not an exact science, but you want to feel like you are eating more filling that masa! Pupuseria del Valle gets it right. I ordered two pupusas to go. I called ahead and the person on the other end was very cordial and took my order with ease. I picked up my order and had some of sides that compliment the pupusa, they are the pickled cabbage and red sauce. You must have that on your pupusa. I got home and noticed the packaging of my food. It was done carefully so as to keep my food as hot as possible until eaten. Kudos! The pupusas were excellent. Well made and most importantly not greasy at all. You can ruin a pupusa so fast with excess grease. I ordered revuelta pupusas which consist of beans, cheese, and pork. My biggest complaint is the price! $3 for one pupusa seems excessive, but I have to take into account the area in which the restaurant is in. They have to pay rent. I am glad I stop by. I was guided by my fellow yelpers.

Downtown Deli & Eatery – Menu with Prices – 225 Market St # 1, Harrisburg

This place is unfortunately often an afterthought for many I know working downtown midweek. We need to change that! Located so conveniently to many office buildings, the deli serves breakfast and lunch at great prices and very promptly. I had lunch today well within my hour break. This is almost impossible except with fast food, and fast food doesn’t always offer a fresh, healthy variety. Two of us had cups of soup (cream of tomato and bean with bacon), a small chef salad, and a turkey, bacon, and provolone sandwich for under $18. The sandwich and salad were both full of good portions of meat and cheese. My salad container was similarly packed full. It was perfectly fresh with a variety of veggies including lettuce, tomato, carrot, cucumber, and green pepper. This place needs to get in my regular rotation.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf – Menu with Prices – 23600 Hawthorne Blvd a, Torrance

The reason why I’m giving a coffee bean and tea the stars is because all the other coffee bean and tea I have been to have been through the drive-through but when I gave one of the coffee Bean and tea employee a piece of paper with the name and the picture of what I want the woman said I don’t understand what this is a lot of customers do not know the name and can pronunciation the name of the coffee they want all the frappe they want it need to be in a name that they can pronounce and the employee can say OK we know what you want until then the stars will be what idiots I will go to coffee bean and tea before I go to Starbucks the reason why it is because that I get it the way I want to specially in Harbor city they do is the perfect the way I want it and if the coffee because if the coffee bean in Torrance on Crenshaw Boulevard does it the way that hobbies said he does it then I will give them the five stars because they don’t listen and act the way they act at the window like they doing you a service when you’re bringing them your money-eeee there is An Problem somewhere

Genesis Baking Co – Menu with Prices – 1130 E 9th St, Des Moines

Great authentic El Salvadoran food! This place could easily be missed. It’s tucked in a strip mall behind Jung’s oriental market. This place is owned by a family and you can really tell they care about the customers and the food they are producing. The food is good and if you’ve never had pupusas, it’s totally worth trying. They are also much faster than the other pupusas restaurants we’ve tried in Des Moines so that’s always a plus! In addition to the pupusas they have other traditional Salvadoran dishes and some amazing juices made in house.

North Point Grill – Menu with Prices – 7843 North Point Blvd, Winston-Salem

My husband and I have been talking about trying this place for years. We’ve driven by many times and it’s usually empty so we take that as a sign that we should probably go elsewhere. Today was the day, no matter how many cars we saw in the lot, to give it a try finally. We were pleasantly surprised to see quite a few cars when we pulled in for lunch on a Sunday around 12:00. Yay! We were quickly greeted by a friendly server and had our drink order taken. A different server came to take our order. I was torn between a few salads. On her recommendation I chose the Buffalo Chicken Salad. My husband got fried flounder with Mac and cheese and coleslaw for sides. Our food came out pretty fast. I was hungry so I was happy for that. My salad was really good and plentiful. Lots of chicken and veggies. However, holy moly! It was spicy! In the menu it said served with a mild buffalo sauce. Well, the chef was a bit heavy handed with the “mild” sauce because there was a ton on it and it overtook the flavor of everything. I got ranch on the side but it didn’t really calm the heat down enough for me. I was full before I finished but there was a small pool of sauce at the bottom of my bowl. Thank goodness my hubby had that coleslaw because that was the only thing that helped my mouth stop burning. Loved the salad in all other ways and next time will order the buffalo on the side. Hubby’s fish was light and flaky. He loved it and I loved my bite he shared with me. We will try North Point Grill again.
