I guess I’m the exception to all the reviews because I left this place unimpressed. I had the recommended Turkey Chili which, to be honest, should be called “Bowl o’ Beans” because this was a 9-1 Beans to Turkey ratio. When I ordered, I was asked if I wanted onions and cheese on top. I said yes to cheese, and this was worse than the extra .50 for a cheeseburger instead of a hamburger. $1.50 for a slice of Swiss (?) on top…I guess it was a big bowl, but if it’s a big bowl of stuff you (or other restaurants) would prepare differently, you wouldn’t be happy, either. $1 extra because it’s chili (that’s how it goes on the menu) and $1.50 for a slice of cheese that costs, what, $3.00 for 10 slices at the supermarket? Come on. The iced tea, though…that was a pleasant surprise. Good flavor and refreshing. It was needed to fight through the chili. Well, Lily makes a good iced tea…so all was not lost.

The Original Geno’s – Menu with Prices – 2211 W Camelback Rd #178, Phoenix

I am a huge fan of their pizza slices. For about 2:50 or 3:50 if you decide to add about to toppings. These are some of the best footlong spices that event in Phoenix and I’m a big fan of Corlanos on the opposite side of Camelback in the streets but I have to give it to Genos aZ for winning the pizza game. The thing I think I like the most about this place is that the kind of take a slice with sauce on it but then they freshly prepare the cheese and toppings all there so instead of heating up a frozen or a pre-made pizza you know kind of like how they have the class cases it’s already a piece of the cut a slice out they just heat it up they put the toppings and stuff on top of it and then you get your slice which is always the best way to do it in my head and they do that for cheese slices to so you’re not going to get a cheese slice just automatically heated up and then you got to go in the oven but rather they put the cheese on it fresh and go from there which I kind of think really asked the quality of the pizza. Now this is called Geo’s so cheesesteaks I will say the cheesesteaks aren’t exactly on point. Better than Subway hundred percent as a few places in Phoenix that I would say it is better than I’m like best of Philly but there’s three places off the top of the head I won’t mention that do better cheesesteaks in this place. But their hoagies are pretty good there other sandwiches are pretty good but if you’re going there for a cheesesteak might not be the place I will add they do sell alcohol that TVs and once again the pizza slices are on point like I’ve gone back just for the slices so I recommend it

Manhattan Pizza & Subs – Menu with Prices – 5224 N 7th St, Phoenix

Man I hate giving Mom and Pop places low reviews but it is what it is I guess first off what kind of pizza place opens at 12 kind of weird time to open considering lunch usually starts about 10 to 11 but that’s their times know when you walk into place very slow no one is there little dirty so go to the counter and ask if you guys have slices she told me maybe not sure what the hell what do you mean you don’t know you’re not sure so she came back and said yes she has cheese so I got two slices of cheese she brings out looks pretty good pick it up pizzas hot but soggy it was cooked all the way through but not sure what was going on first bite tasted kind of odd cheese was okay not much flavor in the sauce little Bland get to the crust that’s what I figured out what a remind me of a biscuit kind of taste like Pillsbury biscuit actually not really Pizza flavor get to the second slice it’s fully cool down now I have to say very few times in my life I cannot finish to slice of pizza but this is one of those times cheese tasted really bad had a plastic flavor and the cheese wasn’t melted any longer and all clumped together no good at all now for the service I’m not sure if it’s there rude or at a language barrier because they don’t speak English very well which is fine but everyone has a sour look on their face will not ever go back here again I would have weighed this place

Moe’s Broadway Bagel – Menu with Prices – 3267 28th St, Boulder

Spent $5 on salty water. Bought a medium iced Americano, asked for minimal water, and an extra shot. She put two shots (should be 4) into an overflowing cup of lukewarm water with two ice cubes. Had to pour out after trying. While I don’t mind their bagels, they charge an extra $1.50 for plain cream cheese per bagel. The cream cheese costs more than the bagel itself. So I bought half a dozen, then bought my own cheese at Safeway and saved enough for next months rent. They also charge $10 for a mediocre bagel breakfast sandwich. Not worth it. Buy the bagels made fresh at CU market’s, cheaper and comes with free cream cheese.

Mike’s Bagels & Coffee – Menu with Prices – 3529 Cannon Rd #2D, Oceanside

I stopped by Mike’s Bagels today, and I’m so glad I did! I’ve lived in Vista for about 6 months now and I’ve always seen Mike’s Bagel shop but I do not know I waited so long to try it?? I got a Turkey bagel, I’m a simple girl lol… it was so delicious !! The person who helped me was super nice. I think he may have been the owner. When he was done prepping the sandwich, he told me to look how beautiful it was & it was! It wasn’t your ordinary turkey sandwich. Most places only give you like a few slices of turkey, but not here. I also got a vanilla iced coffee and it was good. When I asked what flavor coffees he had, he said that he can make any flavor I could think of which I thought was really nice. The service I got was great! And so was the food! I will definitely be back ?

Greenberg Smoked Turkeys, Inc – Menu with Prices – 221 McMurrey Dr, Tyler

This is my first time trying/ordering Greenberg Turkeys on the recommendation of my co-worker who is from Tyler, TX. I’m going to get straight to the review… The turkey came more than 6 days before Xmas which is fine, because the instructions say if your not going to eat it in a timely manner before the 6-8 days (I believe) to freeze which I did. I took the turkey out of the freezer on Fri and had it in the fridge until it was “time”.. After reading other reviews I was a bit nervous that the turkey wasn’t going to be good.. So I bought me a whole chicken to cook in the event that this wasn’t good, that way I didn’t have a ruined Xmas dinner.. On 24 Dec 17, I took it out of the fridge to slice and try a piece to see if the turkey was still a “go” for tomorrow or if I was going to season/bake my chicken? Sheesh… The negative reviews were correct! – The turkey was too salty – The turkey had an artifical smokey taste/pungent after taste – Just by handling the turkey, your hands will smell like artificial smoke for hours on end w/ a possibility of it linguring into the next day (yes! Even after a shower/bath). I will not be eating this for Xmas, I will either give this whole 6lb turkey to my co-worker (lol), or I will slice it up and hand out to the less fortunate around town as a meal.. You win some and lose some! I will not be purchasing another Greenburg anything again..

New Moon Market – Menu with Prices – 2314 Edgewater Dr, Orlando

The best smoothie bowl I’ve had in Orlando, and I consider myself quite a connoisseur of them. Quaintly located amongst all of the cute shops and boutiques on Edgewater in College Park, the inside is calming and welcoming, bright and peaceful. When I walked in the man working greeted me and was super friendly. I ordered the Cheeky Monkey and turned it into a smoothie bowl. There’s already so much in it, and you get to add 3 more toppings for no additional cost. I added coconut, chocolate chips and fresh strawberries. Everything is made right within sight behind the counter and I was happy to see everything was fresh. I even asked for lots of peanut butter and he added extra on top at no cost. He gave me a lid assuming I’d have leftovers, but I ate the entire bowl, and it was huge! I’d recommend the bowl as a meal itself and the juices as a snack. I remember trying all of their juices years ago at the Sunday Farmer’s Market before they had a store, and I’m so happy to see they’re doing well! A little on the pricey side, but that’s what good, quality food costs. Worth it!

Crust Pizzeria – Menu with Prices – 2071 Clove Rd, Staten Island

A good pizzeria has three key elements to be successful in my opinion, good atmosphere, great staff and excellent food. “Crust Pizzeria” meets the minimum in all categories. I spot in for lunch and parking is difficult. The lot is always packed. Inside the restaurant was busy, so I know this was the place to be. The interior was nice, they definitely had great music playing. However they had bricks on the floor holding boxes and soda. I guess storage space is a issue at the restaurant. The counter looks amazing. The black curved counter with fresh pizza displays true marketing on the owners part. The staff was friendly, mostly with each other and customers they know. New customers equal more business, but I’m sure it’s not that easy to get employees to see that. The cashier didn’t acknowledge me so the gentleman in the back making pizzas took my order. I got two slices and he welcomed me to a seat. The pizza was fresh so it didn’t take long to heat up. I got up to pay and he told me eat first pay later. I loved that I was trusted enough to pay after. The Bacon Chicken Ranch slice was good. I liked that they put extra ranch sauce on it. But I felt more Cheese was needed to make it work. The same with the buffalo Slice. Flavor is not a issue, but it feels like It could have benefited with more cheese. I still would come back. I’m definitely interested in trying a calzone. Next time though, if I want a slice, I will ask for more cheese.

Ms. B’s Southern Soul Food – Menu with Prices – 676 St Andrews Rd, Columbia

There were not a lot of reviews but we decided to try Ms. B’s anyway. The food was delicious, staff friendly, restaurant and restrooms were clean. I had the turkey wings, Mac & cheese, cabbage, rice & gravy, and corn bread. My husband also had the turkey wings, but with black eye peas and Mac & cheese as his sides with the rice and gravy and cornbread. The turkey wings were seasoned well and falling off the bone. They were so good we overate and split another plate between the three of us. My son had the fried chicken and enjoyed it too. The vegetables were good too. On our extra plate we had the fried okra as a different side. We’re new to the Elgin/Columbia area and are happy we’ve found a restaurant with great food, portions, and service.

Pizza by the Slice – Menu with Prices – 2011 Lincoln Ave, Evansville

This place is awesome. It sits in the campus area of Univ. of Evansville. The prices are incredibly fair. Cash or check only, but there is an ATM.You can get traditional pizza toppings, but I love the speciality slices. I’ve had the Greek gyro slice, potato/cheese slice topped with Greek sauce, the loaded, and the ham sandwich slice. It’s worth the time to find this small place. It’s a gem.

Mamma Lucia – Menu with Prices – 9650 Main St, Fairfax

Atmospherically, it’s just a walk-up counter with plenty of adjacent seating. Nothing fancy – certainly not if you’re searching for a nice sit down meal – but convenient if you’re leaving the movies or if you just want a quick bite. I’ve eaten here three times, and each time my experience was more or less the same. The pizza is NY style ($2.80 / slice) in the sense that it’s super thin, but that’s about it. A good slice should have a little bit of flop, but remain firm enough that you don’t need two hands to eat it. You shouldn’t have to hold the slice high above your mouth and attack it like a retarded pizza shark, but alas, at Mamma Lucia’s you will. The sauce is incredibly bland, and the cheese is far from the higher-quality mozzarella’s you might find elsewhere. There’s no major flaws with this pizza, but it’s probably a little less than an average slice on its best day. (Note – if you opt for slices, stick to cheese! Requests for pepperoni or other toppings will just result in the employees throwing a few pieces on top of an already made cheese slice and then warming it up in the oven. Gross). I’ve been told that their sandwiches are pretty good, but I’ve never tried them. In short, this is not a destination eatery. But if you’re in the area and craving a slice this place will suffice.

Cook’s Spice Rack & Chili – Menu with Prices – 910 N Grand Ave W, Springfield

I came here to try two iconic Springfield dishes: chilli and a horseshoe. Cook’s Spice Rack doesn’t have a great example of either dish.I had the horseshoe (I got a pony) with yellow sauce and ham. The ham was about an eighth inch thick and pretty tasty, and the Texas toast was ok. The yellow cheese sauce was bland — less cheese flavor than the sauce in Kraft mac n cheese, and no lemon, Worcestershire or other enhancement. The fries were crinkle cut frozen, and almost as bland as the cheese sauce. On the plus side, it was a huge amount of very filling food for the price.I tried both the Terlingua bowl of red and the greasy chilli. The Terlingua reference is to a chili cook off in that town in Texas, which was won by Joe Defrates from Springfield in 1973. His recipe is supposedly used in Chilli Man chilli, which is available in a mix from Amazon, and is excellent. The bowl of red at Cook’s Spice is a relatively tasty beef and tomato stew, but its not really chilli — there are some diced ortega chilis in it, but no chili powder or cumin. The greasy chilli here is an example of the standard Springfield chilli recipe that you find at Dew or the Chili Parlor — fine ground meat, some beans, not much chili powder, a moderate amount of cumin, and a quarter inch cover of melted beef fat, with a side of oyster crackers. Nothing remarkable about the version at Cook’s Spice Rack, except probably the cheapest oyster crackers I’ve ever seen. Just go to the Chili Parlor and get a Plus 1, or better yet, get some Chilli Man mix and make your own.

Paris Cafe Deli – Menu with Prices – 2709 S Fort St, Detroit

I moved in the nieghborhood a couple months ago so I’m trying to try places in my community so I decided to stop here today. All I wanted was Turkey meat no bread no cheese, just meat. So I was expecting real Turkey not processed turkey meat so I was real disappointed because I had just left Aldi’s and if I wanted processed meat I could have gotten it there much cheaper. However, my dialysis diet doesn’t include processed meats so I didn’t want that. Needless to say I won’t be asking for that again. I’ll try some of the other stuff, maybe a salad, maybe a burger, I don’t know, then again I may never go back again I don’t know I’m still upset about this processed meat. I guess I’ll need to buy my own darn turkey and cook it then I know what I’m getting. Smh!
