“Don’t let your inner demons Take the best of your creeds. If God gives you lemons, You must plant the seeds. Do not be so self-absorbed That you can’t see the tree. If you succumb to what’s morbid You bury your chance to be free.” â?? A.C. Antunes Lemon Tree is my new favorite sandwich shop in the Boise area! Why the heck did I wait so long to visit?? I wish they’d deliver or do business with couriers who deliver to my neck of the woods. If fresh, inventive sandwiches and salads are your jam, then I implore you to pay Lemon Tree a visit. Are you vegan or vegetarian? Your dietary needs are not a mere after-thought here. Such care has gone into developing delicious options for all diets here. Have you a special need or question about ingredients? Just ask, and the young, bouncy staff will patiently answer your questions, and they will find a way to meet your needs. Ask for breadless sandwiches if bread is not on your approved list, for example. Or get soup of the day and a salad. As for me, I adore bread and whole grains. The fresh, crusty bread that was soft on the inside, that was part of the vegan and meat sandwiches I had on two separate visits here were bursting with flavor and overfilled, which I welcome! You really get your money’s worth here, big time! Just pick up your fork and eat up those yummy spillings. Make sure you wipe your face thoroughly afterward. Don’t end up as I did, with a few scraggly crumbs hanging onto my kinda sweaty face, as I was walking around afterward and did not discover ’til about 30 minutes later when I looked in a mirror and nervously laughed. Hubby says “Don’t be a Slopahontas”. (He has perhaps a smidgeon of indigenous Native American blood and I’m E. Indian by ethnicity, so Yelp, please don’t take down this review for a term that is not mean to be offensive to anyone. I mean, goodness me, the PC biz is very real and very scary in so many cases these days. I could write a few essays on that topic alone, but I’ll bite my tongue now.) They do not skimp on the lettuce and other produce that, in most sammy shops, has that sad stale taste that most sammy shops have. This is NOT your run-of-the-mill sandwich!! Subdued/normal-ish appetites will likely be satiated with half a sandwich. Larger/bear-ish appetites like mine will be glad to scarf down a full sandwich. At visit #1, I ordered the Veggie Reuben sandy, made of “pastrami-spiced” yams that had a zippy flavor that got along well on the sandwich playground with the apple and lime slaw and a pleasingly mild sauerkraut. The vegan cheese was not made with soy but had a coconut base, I was told. (I am compelled to avoid soy for my constitution.) The sammy playground bully was the mustard. I had to scrape as much of it off as I could. It was too much and overpowered the yams and other ingredients. The sandwich was also a little liquidy-feeling. Otherwise, I really enjoyed it and I do want to get it again. I also look forward to getting more vegan dishes here! At visit #2, I ordered the Sausage & Pear sandwich, which had juicy, leaner, yummy morsels of pork? sausage and thinly-sliced green pears. I couldn’t discern a fennel taste in the fennel jam, but no matter. Oh, those pecans added the perfect crunchy nutty flavor to this one! The whipped goat cheese was just right. Both salads I ordered were of ace quality, and better than what you normally get in a side salad! I prefer the beet salad over the cafe namesake salad, but I do have a roasted root vegetable fixation. Order at the counter, take a number placer, and they will deliver to your table. Please tip these very nice kids well and also at least partially bus your own table. Sit outside on the beckoning patio or inside. I fancied the upstairs indoors on my visits, as I wanted the experience of a more aerial view and more intimate-feeling space, even though I was all by my lonesome both times. Sometimes I get overstim

Sammy?s Avenue Eatery – Menu with Prices – 1101 W Broadway Ave #1, Minneapolis

YUM! I ordered from Sammy’s multiple times while having to visit family at the hospital. Every time delivery was extremely fast, and the sandwiches were AMAZING! One good sandwich can turn your day around and make it a great one. There’s something about Sammy’s special sauce that makes you crave 5 more sandwiches from this place… and the bread! Oh my lord, the bread! It’s so flavorful, you’re going to go home and throw out that bland loaf bread you have in your pantry because NOTHING compares to this bread. I tried a few different sandwiches, and no matter which one you order they always give you plenty of meat in there ( probably the most important part?). Overall, Sammy’s is simple, easy to order and most definitely delicious! Two subs up!

Park One Cafe – Menu with Prices – 2111 E Highland Ave ste 130, Phoenix

YES! The company I work for just moved into a new building a few days ago and I was so pleased to see that there is a little sandwich shop taking up residence in the building also. My co-workers got sandwiches the first day and all claimed they were great. Just standard fare but a decent amount of meat with fresh bread and fixin’s. $5 with tax included is great considering the proximity and that it is not a chain by any stretch. This morning I got a breakfast bagel sandwich. PERFECT. They have a large assortment of fresh bagels (I chose sesame) and the sammy have a good amount of nice fluffy scrabled eggs, with ham, bacon and cheese. MAN was it good. You couldn’t put those ingredients together any better. It was a whopping $3.25 They also havebreakfast burros, salads, the regular speard of cold sammies and a few hot sandwiches too.

The Salad Place & Rotisserie – Menu with Prices – 5392 Mission St, San Francisco

So I love me some sandwiches! Like a true, hearty, fresh sandwich. There are not many places is the city that wow me in this space (sadly). That was until I found this gem! So I stumbled upon it when I had an intense sandwich craving. I ended up in the mission and was searching online for possibilities. This caught my eye and had an incredible menu (beyond extensive) so I gave it a shot! I can’t begin to express how impressed i was. Not only was the bread, cheese, meat, veggies all fresh and delightful, but the salad options blew my mind. Everything is made fresh daily, and you can taste it! Egg salad, crab salad, pasta salad, broccoli salad… it was a salad extravaganza. I ordered a panini and a veggie sandwich. The panini was a meal for 2 for sure, and the bread was so light and fresh. Plus I was able to save half for the next day (It was equally as amazing). The veggie sandwich was divine. The dutch crunch was some of the beet I’ve found, the veggies were perfect and crisp as well as generous portion size. I ended up ordering pasta salad as well just because the multitude of options were so enticing. And like the sandwiches, they definitely delivered a whole lot of deliciousness! They have sandwiches, paninis, wraps, coffees, breakfast sandwiches and side options, as well as a ton of healthy salad offerings. And to top it off there were the sweetest little ladies keeping everything going that made the visit even more enjoyable. Do yourself a favor… go! Even if it’s a trek, it’s totally worth the venture and your taste buds will thank you!

The Tin Cup Menu with Prices 1025 W Abram St, Arlington

Great family owned sandwich shop in Arlington. Close to the UTA Campus. When I worked in Arlington I had lunch at Tin Cup quite often. They have a great selection of fresh brewed iced teas and use quality meats on their sandwiches. It had been awhile since i had been here, until a recent Saturday. On the way home from Grandma’s house, I told my 6yr old I was taking him “someplace special!” Afterward he told me “We need to come here more often!” He ate every bit of his “Billy the Kid” sandwich, which is a PBJ on white bread. He is still talking about the potato sticks that come with the sandwiches. He loved them! And of course the little chocolate chip cookies were a hit, too. The “Alamo” sandwich is what I had, with a side salad, and it was just as good as I remembered. I think the little guy is right – we need to go here more often!

Divicious Deli & Coffee Shop – Menu with Prices – 128 E Main St, Lakeland

Today was our first experience at Divicious and it is tasty. This is a very small deli with an extensive coffee bar. There is room for 8 people at tables inside and a couple of tall chairs at a bar. There are a couple of tables and chairs outside on the patio by the street. \nToday we ordered a Reuben sandwich, a mesquite turkey sandwich with garlic cheddar cheese on Cuban bread pressed and a Turkey Pastami with Swiss on croissant. We tried sides of macaroni salad, pasta salad, regular potato salad and Tri potato salad made with sweet potatoes. All were delicious and the prices are nice too with sandwiches ranging $4.40-$6.99 each and the sides were $1.69 each. They have a small selection of baked items baked in house too. \nYou order at the counter and they deliver to your table. This is a nice place to visit downtown Lakeland.

Carriage House Café – Menu with Prices – 1015 E Clay St, Richmond

This is my second visit to Carriage House Cafe and it won’t be my last. After reviewing the menu online, I ordered the Valentine Garden specialty sandwich with added Tofurky and the potato salad as my side. The servers were polite and patiently answered my vegan questions (of course I had to slide me being vegan in there somewhere ). The sandwich was neatly assembled and full of flavor. The added Tofurky definitely “beefed” up the size of the sandwich so I’ll be saving the other half for dinner. I’m thoroughly impressed and look forward to my next visit.

Carmines di Vega – Menu with Prices – 1500 Whalley Ave, New Haven

Amazing! We had eggplant rollatini for an appetizer and it was fantastic. The marinara sauce was so fresh and the eggplant had a nice texture – not exactly crisp but definitely not soggy. For dinner I had the Salmon Con Finocchio (salmon with with fresh fennel and leeks in a tomato pernod cream sauce). I’m not sure I have words for it. The salmon was cooked exactly right and it was placed on top of a bed of leeks and fennel. The sauce took on an anise flavor from the fennel and it was fantastic and totally unique. I opted for the fresh vegetables instead of pasta and the zucchini was a perfect complement. The entree came with a salad which was well beyond your traditional iceberg lettuce fare. It was filled with vegetables and the salad dressing was very clearly homemade. My whole family loved their meals (tilapia for a couple people and haddock for another plus a caesar salad for one and a tri colore salad for another). The kids had pasta with meatballs on the side. I wasn’t a huge fan of the meatballs. I thought they were a little tough but I’m more of a fish person. The atmosphere and service was warm and friendly with an old school twist (think a nice Italian man singing Sinatra) but the food was anything but old school. It was a fresh, updated version of Italian and I won’t hesitate to visit again and recommend Carmine’s to friends.

PureBread Deli – Menu with Prices – 4801 Limestone Rd, Wilmington

Love this place for a quick , fresh lunch that wont have you ready for a nap. Yummy ingredients. The ability to create your own sandwich which for a foodie like me is a BIG deal. Mix and match different sandwiches to make something that is truly your own. My go to is lettuce, cheese, bacon, mayo and avocado on focaccia bread. I have just started trying their salad menu starting with the spinach salad and am only disappointed it took me so long to try one (I was just so hung up on the diy sandwich thing). They also do a good breakfast sandwich / wrap. Even their coffee and baked good are awesome (especially the pound cake muffin aka cake for breakfast!). Very well rounded establishment plus cute puppies on the wall !

KoKyu Na’Mean – Menu with Prices – 4823 Meadow Dr, Durham

Took my friend to grab some dank sandwiches from this awesome place! We ordered from the daily sandwiches posted to the right of the cash register. I got the Nuoc Cham Banh Mi, which is a crispy pork cutlet, sriracha butter, lettuce, Chiles, pickled veggies, Nuoc Cham and fresh mint. Impression: great, crispy bread. The cutlet was crispy, but didn’t have any flavor until combined with the Nuoc Cham and pickled veggies which made for a great succession of flavors. The mint was a nice touch Note: while the Nouc Cham is typically a watery sauce, it made the bread increasingly soggy and the sandwich fell apart. Maybe place on the side for those who wants to put it on the sandwich as they go? To those who don’t know: Nuoc Cham is a Vietnamese term for dipping sauce that is literally a combination of all tastes: sweet, sour, salty, savoury, and/or spicy. The other sandwich ordered was the Pimento Pollo, a sandwich with pimento cheese and Korean fried chicken, with iceberg lettuce, pickled hot cherry peppers and their own vinaigrette. Let. Me. Tell you. This sandwich was THE BOMB. Who knew KFC was good with cheese like that? Well… this biz did. Sides: potato salad and their garbanzo salad was pretty damn good. Bottom line: although both sandwiches are great, the Pimento Pollo triumphs the Nuoc Cham Banh Mi for its better flavor combination. This should honestly be on the menu!

Crestwood Catering Deli Menu with Prices 22 Picotte Dr, Albany

My husband and I recently visited Crestwood Deli after reading about it in the paper. It took MORE than 30 minutes to get two sandwiches – I could have gone to the store, purchased ingredients AND made the sandwiches before this place even finished burning the sub-par bread for one sandwich. To be clear, we went on a Sunday when the place was totally EMPTY. On to the flavor of the sandwiches: for $15 dollars we got two TINY soggy unappealing lumps of bread, meat and cheese (see photos – the sandwiches are on 7″ dinner roll plates and I used a quarter to demonstrate their minuscule size). They were like 5 inches or less (made a Subway six inch look huge). On top of that, the corned beef used in the Reuben was ice cold and amazingly the burned bread was soggy. Shame on you Crestwood Deli, this is not the kind of food that should be served to customers. I will certainly never recommend this place to anyone. CONCLUSION: Buy your own ingredients at the grocery store and make sandwiches at home!!! P.S. The chef Danny Urschel made the Reuben pictured.

The Flavor Grille Menu with Prices 1562 Akron Peninsula Rd Suite #103, Akron

This place is AMAZING!!! We got takeout here tonight and it did not disappoint! Do you like jerk chicken?!?! I do and this was the best I have ever had!!! The wings were meaty, full of flavor and cooked to perfection! My husband got the chicken philly and after the first bite said he was in love! For sides we got Mac n cheese, candied yams and peach cobbler!!! The Mac n cheese was so good and light! The yams reminded me of my grandmas cooking…..YUM! The peach cobbler was divine and tasted like it was fresh out the oven!! All the food here is cooked to order so we waited about 15 minutes but it was well worth the wait! It’s a little spot mainly meant for takeout, with 2 tables available to sit at. I noticed they deliver via Grub Hub which is awesome and I will definitely try that in the future! If you’re looking for down home soul food cooking in Akron then this is the place!!! It may not look like much, but the food packs a punch!!!!!

Perry’s Joint – Menu with Prices – 2051 Lincoln Ave, Pasadena

I decided to give them a try after reading the reviews and my tastebuds begging for a sandwich. I have been along time customer of PSC but it was a bit far for me this particular day. This place is right around the corner from me with a Subways within walking distance from them. I ordered the yardbird, hubby ordered some of other sandwich..sorry can’t remember which one. The sandwiches were fresh, but not very large, both sandwiches contained alot of roughage, in which we both ended removing, placed in a bowl and added salad dressing. I’m not knocking the flavor or the sandwich, just the portions of the meat. I think my family is just a accustomed to PSC, any sandwich shop serving sandwiches to PSC customers have pretty big shoes to fill.
